Osprey Talon 33-Litre Backpack
This bag may be one of the best investments I have ever made! I use it for everything. It was originally purchased three years ago as a day pack for our hike of the Inca Trail in Peru. I did a lot of research and determined that this would be the best solution. We needed a pack large enough to carry gear for the day and any type of weather. We were not carrying tents or sleeping bags, so we needed a bit less space. My husband was so impressed when it arrived, that he purchased the exact same bag in a large. Since it's first successful outing, this bag has been our go-to bag for any and all trips. We've taken it on airplane flights stuffed full of our daughter's blankets, toys and DVD player with enough room for our books and light sweaters. It's gone on car trips packed with clothes and toys. It's gone on day hikes and picnics with food and blankets. It went to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro stuffed with 3 liters of water, jackets, rain gear, snacks etc. It is a roomy size for a daypack and large enough for a weekend overnighter. The pull tabs are nice as they have rings you can grab even with thick gloves on. The storage pocket on top is great for keys, passports and other items you need in a hurry. The front pocket holds travel folders, books, snacks and sweaters with ease. The drink pockets on the side, like most packs, are useless for water bottles if you are hiking. They fit in, but are difficult to squeeze in if you have the straps down tight and require you to take off your pack to get them back in. They are great for an extra water bottle (as camelbak backup) or for storing snacks, Goo shots, pocket translators, etc. The hip belt is comfy and has never dug uncomfortably into my hip bones. If you tighten the chest strap too tight, it pulls the top straps a bit too close and can rub your clavicals, but keep it loose enough and it is fine. The two hip pockets are super convenient for chapstick, money, candy, etc and are suprisingly large. The load straps are easy to adjust and keep loads (light and heavy) well balanced. It hugs my back and stays put, but also has a very nice air gap that prevents too much sweat. I recommend this bag to anyone and everyone you will not be disappointed!
I love this backpack so much. I am 5'6" and I got the S/M size. It's super tough and you won't believe how much stuff you can cram into it. I had to have dressy clothes for conferences, something warm for cool nights in Scotland, and everything in between. I only took a pair of birkenstock gizeh sandals and a foldable pair of flats + tiny shower sandals for shoes, to be fair (I mostly wore the birks and the latter two didn't really take up room). I also loved that for hiking and day trips, I could empty everything into a big shopping bag wherever I was staying and use this as a daypack. Super comfy and I still use it all the time now that I'm back at work/school.

I am only 5' and finding a backpack that fits is not an easy task. This one is perfect and it is a beautiful shade of PURPLE! Yahoo! The Talon sales pitch was centered around its versatility, which is what initially drew me in. And let me say, it definitely delivers on that front. Basically this is a hybrid between a day pack and a full backpacking rig. The compromise was reached by removing a dedicated space for a tend and sleeping bag, so that means it's probably not suited for extended camping trips unless you're into building your own shelter, but if you're doing something like backpacking Europe and will be staying in hostels, it's absolutely ideal.Experienced hikers who know how to pack efficiently can still get by though, since the excess of external straps means it can actually fit substantially more gear than its cubic inch count indicates. If you want to go all-out you can really cram a lot in/on it, but if you want to do a casual day hike it's small and light enough that it doesn't feel awkward when only partially full. No need to bring an extra day pack.
One of my favorite parts is the four front pockets: one small elastic one on each shoulder strap, and one medium-sized zip-up one on each hip strap. This allows you to carry quite a few frequently-used items (e.g. phone, flashlight, swiss army knife or small snacks) while on the go.
If you're planning on anything over a 50-miler through the Cascades, this won't replace a full-sized external frame unless your a hardcore pro. For anything else though and I mean pretty much anything this gets the job done.

It's [obviously] smaller than my 44L talon. It fits just the right amount of gear for a 1-2 night trip and weighs just 2 lbs. Sadly it isn't big enough for a week long trip. Yet. Maybe I'll trim down some other gear.

I love this case it seems to be very durable and it is stylish and conpact. I attend school and have to carry a bookbag and I didn't want anything with extra bulk and this is perfect, it will even fit into my bookbag with my books. There is a pocket for your papers and a separate zippered pouch for cords, and the matching adjustable carrying strap is a plus, because I prefer a shoulder bag rather than short hand held handles, so if I don't carry it in my bookbag then I can carry it on my shoulder and have my hands free. I would reccommend this bag to women who like bright colors, it comes in about five different colors.

I've used this case in black color for a year.It's stylish, quite comfortable to wear due to adjustable strap and safe for my laptop because it's a hard case.
I have HP dm4 and it fits it (leaving over 1 inch of space by the side). But the laptop is the only thing that fits there: all cords with adapter (slim version) and a mouse I have to put into the pocket of this case; and when I close the case, it bends a little at pocket side. And there is no room for anything else. When you have glossy plastic on top of your laptop you could hurt or scratch it with things in a pocket, and I definitely don't recommend to use this case when you plan to carry laptop with adapter and cords. I wish it would be a little wider.
The most unpleasant thing about this case I've found it's easy to scratch and marks are WHITE. I have a black case, and after a year of use it looks awful at corners. That's the major reason I buy another case. When you buy this case in white or yellow it's OK, I guess.

I bought this for my mom as a christmas present. She absolutely loved it. It is made very well and is super fashionable. The only downside is that it isnt big enough for more than your computer and mouse. You have to carry the Plug seperately. It does offer a good level of protection if you are travelling and want to just have something cute to put your laptop in and keep it safe in your carry on.

As I travel a lot I was impressed by the internal design and the amount of space in a bag with a small overall footprint. However, I was somewhat disappointed by bag NOT having rotating wheels to maneuver the isles on a couple of united flights as the bag is too wide to wheel down the isle. This product was such a good price that I wasn't expecting too much out of it, but it is very sturdy and well-made. My daughter is using it for 5th grade it's the perfect size and stands up to the 30 lbs of textbooks that she sometimes has to haul around. Also has a deep mesh pocket for her water bottle, so it never falls out like it used to with her other backpacks.UPDATE 5/2011 Just want to say that my daughter is almost done with 6th grade now and is still using this backpack. We have no broken zippers and no holes. The straps are still securely fastened to the bag. My daughter is merciless on her belongings, so for this backpack to last as long as it has and still be in great shape it must be well made.
FINAL UPDATE 2/2012 Five months into 7th grade, and we've finally had to replace it. Still no holes or broken zippers/straps, but the bottom wore so thin that it looked like my daughter's books would fall through at any moment. (Probably from being dragged on the ground so much.) Got a solid 2 years out of it I think that's a record!

My daughters favorite color is yellow so this backpack is perfect. Her first one almost lasted 2 years before the zipper broke. I just ordered another one for the start of her 2nd grade year. It is pretty large and easily carries anything she needs to take to school.My son has this for 9th grade in a school where he has to bring 3-5 textbooks home every night. Backpack has been fine for the heavy load, sits well on his shoulders.Zippers feel like they might last all year, which is always a problem with ANY backpack except for the super high dollar ones. Unusual yellow color helps him stand out a little, and makes it easy to spot his backpack in a pile.
UPDATE: After about a month, the backpack is disintegrating before my eyes !! The side strap is pulling loose, hanging by a thread. The canvas near the top handle is starting to rip.
This backpack is NOT well-made AT ALL.
I give it a 1 star and a DO NOT BUY warning.

I got this backpack for my 8 year old son for school. I had bought a different K Cliffs backpack for my other son earlier and was pleased with the quality of the bag for the price. Case Logic, Inc. has been around since 1984, which is probably right about the time I bought my first Case Logic case for my cassette tapes. Over the years, as they added items to their product line, so I added their products to my collection. As a sample, I believe I have owned at one point or another, Case Logic cassette cases, CD & DVD cases, CD player cases, Zip Drive cases, trunk organizers, and more. I'm looking around my home office and I can spot several of their products and I bet you do too. Case Logic's 13.3 Laptop Sleeve (LAPS-113) is one of many sleeves that Case Logic makes and it just might be the perfect protective, no frills sleeve for your 13.3-inch or smaller laptop.PROS:
No nonsense, sleek design

I define my perfect laptop sleeve to be one that has no handles, pockets, zippers, or bulk. What I want out of a sleeve, is a relatively form-fitting sleeve that I can then toss into one of my other bags, like my Timbuk2 messenger bag or my JanSport backpack. The LAPS-113 hit each of my requirements perfectly, except for the inclusion of a zipper. Though, as you'll soon see, the zipper turned out to be a neutral feature for me, not a negative one.
PROTECTION
First and foremost, the LAPS-113 will protect your laptop from scratches. The exterior and interior materials are made out of 100% polyester. What makes the LAPS-113 stand out from many similar sleeves is the fact that it actually has some worthwhile padding to protect your laptop from impact. It is surrounded by a 6mm layer of EVA foam which feels a lot like memory foam. This thin layer provides enough protection that I feel very comfortable with it in my aforementioned bags. The sides also have a woven webbing that provides a protective texture as well as making it look attractive. As I mentioned before, I did not like the idea of a zipper on a laptop sleeve because I fear scratching my laptop with it. Fortunately, the Case Logic LAPS-113 has a protective lip around the zipper teeth. Essentially, when you begin to zip the the sleeve shut, the protective lip folds down over the laptop so that it is protected from coming in contact with the zipper teeth.
USAGE & SIZE
The smooth gliding zipper runs across the entire top of the sleeve and about an inch down the sides. It is very easy to insert and remove my laptop from the LAPS-113. When inside my messenger bag, I can remove my laptop without having to remove the entire sleeve from the bag. The Case Logic LAPS-113 laptop sleeve is listed as a 13.3-inch appropriate sleeve. The internal dimensions are 13in x 9.1in x 1.1in and weighs just 6 ounces. The new 13-inch Macbook Pro is listed as 12.78in x 8.94in x 0.95in, so the sleeve should be perfect. However, I have a 12.1-inch Google Chrome Cr-48 notebook and that too fit amazingly well. As my readers probably know already, I LOVE Timbuk2 products but I think the LAPS-113 just usurped my Timbuk2 sleeve as the sleeve my Cr-48 will live in. All you game developers who got their free Cr-48 from the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco might want to try the LAPS-113 for your brand new toy. To top it off, the LAPS-113 comes in three colors-black, red, and tannin (a sort of red wine, brown mixture). I also want to mention that the sleeve does give off a slight rubbery odor at first, but fades away after a few days. I know that some people are highly sensitive to smell so I just wanted to mention it for their sake.
CONCLUSION
There are plenty of folks out there who want a sleeve that has enough padding for better impact protection. The Case Logic LAPS-113 is able to do that without adding significant bulk in a simple and attractive design. I recommend it for 13-inch Macbook Pro users and Google Chrome Cr-48 users alike.

The case is soft with a few millimeters of foam. It isn't going to save your computer, but it will keep it from small scratches and dings while its being transported.
I'd love a case that offered a bit of moisture protection, which this certainly does not, but for the price, it definitely meets my expectations.

I bought this sleeve for my Chromebook and am pleased with it. It fills a niche for computers that aren't tiny or "normal" sized. My Chromebook fits well in it, with a little bit of wiggle room. The sleeve is very light, but the padding is definitely sufficient. Case is the perfect size for my 17.3" HP dv7t Quad laptop with just a little room to spare, which I think I could probably squeeze my mouse in there even if it protruded on the one side. I wanted a case that was a snug fit, thin (not bulky), and could be put in larger bag for transport (like a carry-on) without worrying about the laptop getting scratched or bumped around. It is a soft and pliable cover, so it doesn't offer the same type of protection as a stiffer cover, but for the price, it's a solid investment.

This bad is really sturdy, but it's a lot bigger than what I'm used too. I'm glad that it has really strong clips to hold the flap in place. However, it's really hard for me to get them to unhook, so sometimes it's annoying to try to open it up when I'm in a hurry. If you like a little bigger bag, then I think you would like this. It's nicely made, and I feel bad only giving it 3 stars, but, I think I like my previous bag better.
Backpack is also reasonably light and very comfortable for me, I'm 6'4" so maybe everything's relative but walking a mile with it daily is no issue.
I'd say don't hesitate here if you're strapped for something to hold your bigger laptop, this thing is built sturdy and I expect it to last me a long time (had it 5 months already and been on several plane rides with no issue)

I have been calling for (literally) 2 months and left (again literally) well over a dozen messages. I get no calls back.I've called the number on their warranty tag: 305-629-9720 and also 954-843-9800 their repair center. Have also tried 877-276-4397.
Once spoke to someone who said they no longer do Heys warranty work and she gave me these other numbers.
So not only does their luggage fail, but you can't even get them to call back.

timi & leslie Messenger Bag, FelicityI loved the look and feel of the bag right away. I bought the bag for my daughter. We use cloth diapers and never had more than 4 diapers in the bag at once. The magnetic snaps worked great, held tight. Then by 5 months owning the bag the shoulder strap pad started to fray and the stiching came loose. The inside of the bag's stitching started to separate and fray so you could see the inside foam lining the bag. And the magnetic snaps (as wonderful as they held) started to rip from their sewing on to the bag as well. So after 5 months I now have no shoulder strap, a missing magnetic button and a gaping hole that isn't repairable because the stitches and edgings are frayed. Such a cool design, feel and excellent changing pad for such poor quality thread, cloth and sewing. I do not recommend this bag unless you want to have multiple bags. It's shelf life is VERY short.

I ordered this bag because I loved it and hoped that the other negative reviews were wrong. Sometimes people expect too much and then they write bad reviews based on those high expectations. When I first received the bag, I was in LOVE. It has tons of pockets and seems to be high quality. Then the seams started ripping after only two weeks! I contacted the company today. Hopefully their customer service is better than the other reviewers say or else I'm in trouble. :(Just play it safe and order a different bag.

I travel international long trips (1+month) frequently, and all I bring is always one carry-on. Over the years, I developed a wish list my old samsonite failed to meet, but Victorinox delivers with this bag.Pros:
+ 8 wheels: Even when fully packed, it is much easier to glide through small alleys, airports, etc, than 4 or 2 wheels
+ Lightweight: it is two pounds lighter than my previous samsonite. That's a lot for 2-month in a carry-on kind of packing.
+ Outer pocket for liquids and another bigger one for ipad or small laptop.
+ Very roomy: not all carry-ons of the same size have the same capacity, when you open this one, you'll see.
+ Attach a bag system: very useful when I'm at the airport and suddedly have an extra plastic bag filled with snacks.
+ non tip-over design: Every samsonite I had that's expandable or has a front pocket will always tip-over, especially since I pack a lot into my carry-on. They will just refuse to stand on their own. this Victorinox fixed this problem.
Cons
-The garment bag takes up a lot of room and is not useful at protecting against wrinkles. Luckily, you can detach it. I use an eagle creek pack-it folder instead for clothes I need to keep wrinkle-free.

Now for the not-so-nice: l am VERY disappointed that Vic didn't include the MUCH-NEEDED assist handle on the bottom of the WT spinner! What are we supposed to do now, grab a dirty wheel? That handle is a necessity for accessing overhead bins on planes and trains, the Avolve line has it! Why not the WT? This needs a retrofit.
Except for the omission of that handle, I am happy with my purchase of these 2 pieces.

I was looking for the largest spinner carry-on I could get away with for most flights. I also wanted something of decent quality. This bag fits the bill. My favorite part is the suiter. Keeps suits and dresses wrinkle-free and makes packing a breeze. The purple is gorgeous as well--a deep eggplant color.
