Tumi Luggage Alpha Long Wheeled Garment Bag

Bought several pieces of Tumi luggage several years ago, had many problems zippers failing off, handles ripping, pegs on sides that you set the bags down on cracked off. Called Tumi ALL issues were wear and tear noting covered by the warranty. Word to the wise do not spend the money on these over priced bags.

The bag is great for organzing all your stuff while traveling. Problem-if you pack it to the limit you will be over 50lb limit--the first time I used this bag I was 9lbs over --OMG. Also after just one trip some of the zippers have paint flicked off and one had the zipper pull broken. Very minor things-come on this is a suit case... but I feel like paid a lot for this suit case and I want to figure out how to keep it looking good longer than my traditional suit case. Overall it is still a Tumi and about as attractive as a suit case can get.

Eagle Creek Adventure Weekender Bag

My son-in-law loved this bag. Exceptional style and quality in a very nice product. We were very pleased with this purchase for Christmas.

I've taken this Eagle Creek bag on two vacations since I purchased it from Amazon. One was a 3 week European trip and the other was a 2 week Caribbean cruise. I received the bag just before the first vacation, and on inspection, one of the seams on the bottom of the bag was sewn crooked. If I was buying it in a brick and mortar store, I would have seen this and selected another, however the bag arrived just in time for my trip and I had no choice but to use it. This is just a cosmetic flaw and Eagle Creek warrants their product against manufacturing defects for the life of the product. That being said, the bag has a huge capacity. We just do carry-on and this bag holds more than a weekend of clothes. I have a tendency to over-pack and I'm glad that I had this soft-sided bag for those trips. I've used the bag in its 3 modes: over-the-shoulder, back-pack, and just with the carry handle. My only serious criticism with the bag is when using the shoulder strap it slides off my shoulder unless I place it on the opposite shoulder across my body. It really needs a rubber cushion instead of the slick fabric sewn on the underside of the strap. But given all the compartments, the capacity, the soft sides, and the minimal weight of the bag, I still highly recommend this suitcase.

Brenthaven Duo 15 Backpack for Notebooks up to 15"

The Brenthaven Duo is a striking backpack. It exudes quality with its high-end materials, serious-looking zippers and heavy stitching. The bag has three main compartments: laptop, notes, front.

Your laptop lies securely in a heavily padded pocket which even pads the opening when you zip the compartment shut.

The notes compartments is very tall and very thin. You can put 2-3 notebooks in there and slide smaller equipment into the flat long pockets that are on its side. There is not much room in here for anything beyond that. I was able to squeeze in a folded umbrella, two notebooks and very small folders, nothing more. If you want to take full-size noise-canceling headphones with you, well, there's no room here.

The front compartment has room for pens and pencils, MP3 player and other miscellanea. For a front compartment, this is a decent sized one.

Two additional pockets exist in the bag:

Under the front pocket a pretty expansive pocket is used for cables, power supplies and the such. Above the front compartment a small pocket can be used for sunglasses and other small items.

The straps are wide and thin without much padding, but are very comfortable. I truly believe part of the comfort the bag provides lies in the fact that it forces you to carry less stuff around with you. Carrying less, it weighs less, and a lighter bag is more comfortable.

Still, if there is one backpack that looks respectable with a suit, or around people wearing suits and carrying briefcases, this is it.

I purchased this backpack due to its CORE protection system. As commented in a previous review, it is a rather wide backpack. Much less flex in the outer shell than a 'normal' backpack. Although I like the built-in CORE protection, I'm may get a Brenthaven expandable Trek backpack for everyday use. It does not have the CORE system, but does have more pockets and a more standard backpack form factor. I'm thinking this backpack will serve me well for travel.

Everything on this bag is as described, but be aware that it is quite wide, and looks more like a ninja turtle shell than a computer bag. Once you realize that, it is an awesome bag and protects your costly machine with great ease, as well as hoists your other goodies around with you.

This laptop backpack is a great product. I had an incident with my previous laptop backpack when it was accidently knocked out of the overhead luggage compartment in an aircraft. Duluth Pack Large Deluxe Daypack

Beautiful construction. I have the waxed canvas version. I use it just as an everyday commuter bag. Size wise it is probably around 25-30 litres.

The difference between this & the standard seems to be the leather on the front pocket, as well as leather shoulder straps & a leather bottom.

The only other thing to be aware of is that it has no frame. Seems obvious being a canvas rucksack but you need to pack it carefully to avoid sharp things poking your back.

That said, it is a great daypack & I hope it'll last forever.

I got this bookbag for my daughter because she loves Vegeta and Goku. However, she is a 4th grader and has to carry a textbook from school home everyday in addition to her other notebooks and pencil box. We have tried several different ways to evenly distribute all of the stuff she has to carry within the three sections. It's been five months and I'm almost sure it won't make it until the end of the year. The bottom is starting to give way and I had to resew the straps and the areas around near the zippers twice. The zippers are also starting to give way and not zip. I think this maybe made more so for kids who have lighter things to carry on a daily basis, for that it is perfect. The greyish streaks aren't as visible as on the photo but everything else is exactly the same (the zipper, the strap/handle and the metal eyelets). 17" School Backpack / Outdoor Backpack with Reflective Strip

I needed a bag to use when riding my motorcycle. This bag was just what I was looking for. The refelcetive strip and the orange color add to the safety so motorist can see me. Also I am in the Army and on my post it is required for motorcyle riders to have a refelctive belt on the bag when riding. This in turn removed the need for me to have to use the belt with the reflective strip on it. Not to mention this bag is the perfect size and has many pockets. Great bag!!!!!!

I purchased this backpack because of the reflective strip on the back. I decided on the black backpack, but the so called "reflective strip" was not reflective at all. I tested the reflective strip by placing the backpack in one of my bedrooms, no lights on, almost completely blacked out, and shined a flashlight on it with the results showing no hint of reflective properties on this backpack at all. Otherwise the backpack seems to be of quality material and has a good amount of compartments available throughout. I am still disappointed at the strip not being reflective because I am going to use it for my rides on my motorcycle. I resorted to having a reflective belt being wrapped around the backpack for easier visibility for other motorists on the road.

-In short, good quality material, plenty of spacious compartments, but no reflective strip. This was misleading during my decision to purchase it.

Lewis N. Clark Tsa Lockdown Triple Security Cable Lock

I was rather disappointed, as I'm in the middle of a trip overseas and was hoping to be able to contact the vendor without writing a review, to see if the problem can be corrected. Unfortunately, it does not appear that Amazon offers this service, so I am reduced to writing this review.

I have been traveling for about 5 weeks and the three locks that I purchased were working perfectly until today, on a trip where I had just taken two of them along. I was flying from Munich to Barcelona and was asked by security to open my carry on case, which was locked. I was able to unlock it, and lock one of the loops, but the other loop would not lock. When I arrived in Barcelona, got my luggage and went to the Tourist Office at the airport, I had to open my carry on as my hotel information was locked inside. Though I had the correct combination, the lock would not open. The Tourist Office then sent me to Customs, which directed me to another Terminal, where no one could help, and I finally returned to the original terminal and went to the Air Berlin Information Desk for help. He informed me that if I had known the lock was defective BEFORE I came through the arrivals gate, one of the personnel there could have opened it; but once through the arrivals gate, you can not go back. I explained my desperate need, as I had been running around for over an hour and did not even have the address of my guest house, as it was locked inside the case. The man was good enough to offer to cut the lock which he did, surprisingly with an ordinary pair of scissors.

Now I am torn about using the remaining two locks, wondering if they will fail and again leave me running around strange airports for hours. . I left one lock behind in the Munich apartment where I am staying and am left with only one working lock and the fear that the combination will fail again. I will have to buy another lock on the market here.

This is extremely disappointing and has colored my view of these locks ordinary travel and after 5 weeks one suddenly doesn't work? I had read a review of someone who had this same experience, but not in the middle of a trip.

I am both disappointed in the failure of the lock and then concerned that an ordinary pair of scissors can cut through the wire loop.

I would appreciate hearing from the vendor about this.

UPDATE: 16 days later and on a Sunday, I'm getting ready to fly again on Monday. The second of the three locks has now failed. It won't lock on one side, and following the lead of the first failed lock, it will completely fail. So here I am on a Sunday and flying out in the morning and another failed locked. 67% failure rate and it looks like I'll have to replace all three before this trip is done.

I'm a pilot for an airline that forces us to put our bags in the overhead bin with passenger bags, resulting in frequent stolen/mistakenly-taken bags. After the company refused to pay for my stolen laptop (taken when my bag was removed from the plane by a passenger), I bought several of these for myself and friends and have had no such theft since. The double loop configuration is perfect for our situation, and keeps the bag safe from all but the most determined thieves (determined enough to have gotten cable cutters through security, for instance). I'll post a pic to show how it works on the Embraer overhead bin.

One of the locks failed, by the way, and we had to have a TSA agent come to the plane with his key (007), which also failed to open the lock. We cut the lock off with a giant bolt cutter, and advised Amazon. The lock was replaced before we could even send the failed one back, and we've had no problem since. Kudos, Amazon.

I did not order this through Amazon but the lock is the same as the one I bought. Hopefully this will be helpful to someone. I purchased this about 2 months before my vacation. Tried it once, worked great. Went to try it out again, was frozen would not work at all! Contacted the company twice and they finally sent me another one. Worked fine. But like before, it froze the night before my trip. So I had no choice but to cut the lock off. What a waste of money this thing is. I didn't find it as flexible as I thought it would be either. The concept is good, but it sure needs some improvement. Not a happy camper!

Just a thought here... I love these locks and was surprised to see negative reviews. Then I remembered my FIRST use and want to share this experience.

Here is what happened to me the very first time I was putting the lock onto my suitcase. I did not realize that I slid the RESET side of the slider instead of the opposite side... That resets the combo to whatever I happened to have had in the dial. This only happens when the lock has been opened with the correct combo in the first place. Having opened one side as noted above, if you had happened to move the numbers, then hit the reset side -you would have changed the combination without realizing it! Now I am just very aware of what numbers are in the combo when I close it and stay away from that red RESET button!

One more thing... I believe that you must lock the "short loop" side through the zipper slider holes (what TSA might need to get at) and the longer loop to something permanant on your suitcase. That way, when TSA opens the lock and forgets to relock it, you still have your lock. If you use the "long loop" to lock the zippers sliders, I'm not sure TSA can unlock that side. (And even if they can, you don't want them to lest THEY hit that RESET slide!)

If someone is going to break in, they will find a way. (I've had several regular TSA locks totally smashed upon arrival.) I'm just glad to still have my lock attached to the bag with this one -I've lost several other TSA locks in the past with either not putting it back at all or forgetting to close and lock it! And I know it was TSA because in both missing lock cases, the TSA white sheet was in the bag!

Dakine Women's 42-Litre Overhead Pack

I love this bag so much! It fits well into overhead bins and it really fits a lot of things. I packed a weeks worth of clothing into this thing and I could have put more. It has handles on top and the side an it rolls which makes it easy to grab, move, roll, pick up, and zip up. The only thing I wish it had was a mesh zip on the inside to keep everything in just in case the top came unzipped. Some bigger Dakine bags have this feature I just wish they had it in this bag. Otherwise it is a great bag, traveled well and its really cute and easy to spot.

It needs harder sides, inside straps and compartments. The size was perfect, but in trying to pack it, awkward. Also liked the length of the telescoping handle, perfect for taller people, I'm 5'11". Unfortunately, sending it back. It is more like a duffel than real luggage.

McKlein I Series Lincoln Park Leather Three-Way Computer Briefpack

This is a very convenient briefcase, with lots of storage space, for almost everything (laptop, folders, books, gadgets, docs etc.) You can even use it for a short travel. But this means that it is a big bag, a heavy one and to be honest a bit ugly.

In general is a very practical bag, that allows to carry almost everything you need (and may not need). If it lasts for long it will be a good purchase.

I think this is an amazing bag. it's strong, holds for many years, has many compartments, enables both carrying as suitcase and as a backpack, fits great on top of the trolly. I love it, my first was stolen from my car, so I went a and bought the exact model again and was very happy with it as well.

Case Logic LAPSM-115 15-Inch MacBook Pro Sleeve (Black)

This product is definitely one of the bests I could get with this price and it does not look cheap at all!

It fits my 17" MacBook Pro great. Provides good padding and keeps the laptop free from dings and scratches. It's too thin for my Dell Precision M6600 which is also a 17" laptop but much thicker.

On the packaging for this case it says that the MAX dimensions of a laptop that will fit inside are: 14.3" x 0.9" x 9.8" and the dimensions of a 15" MacBook Pro (Purchased new from apple in 2011) are 14.35" x 0.95" x 9.82" ... so it's as simple as that: this case is just not made to fit a 15" MBP. I don't know how you make a case that's specifically designed to fit something that's bigger than the maximum possible space available in that case...

Now a few hundredths of an inch may not seem like a lot, and I didn't think it would be a big deal; I figured a snug fit would be good right? Well this is a little TOO snug as the laptop is not protected at all from the zipper, especially at the corners, where it is really tight and the zipper actually rubs up against the laptop every time you zip and unzip it.

Aside from that... the inside of the case is made from the same material as the outside. The neoprene isn't really the softest material in the world and I feel like the soft plush interior of some of the other cases would better protect the MacBook.

The price attracted me to this case as some of the others are twice as much, but I guess I see why it was half the price now...

So in conclusion, spend the extra cash on a case that is designed to fit your MBP. I will be returning this case for a refund and purchasing a more expensive one that will hopefully fit.

Really great backpack. Perfect size for a day trip. Worked great at Lollapalooza this year. Very comfortable and feels very durable.

I happened to see a guy at the race track and I noticed his backpack was like the perfect size. No too big and not a little kid size. Buying a backpack online is tough and unfortunately I could have done better. Specifically, I wanted a backpack for day trips/hikes in a jungle location. Having past good experiences with Dakine (and their large selection) I focused in on them. When I received the backpack it looked sturdy and well-made but very, very small. This didn't turn me off completely as I wanted it small, but I had to let out almost all the slack to get it on my back (5-11, 165, slim build with athletic shoulders). I tested it out on a mile walk to the market. Even empty I noticed it on my back the whole way. The straps are very narrow and rubbed against my neck. Once at the market I was surprised by how much this little thing held (2 jars of salsa, bottle of juice, 2 plastic bottles of coke, a box of aspirin and 4 bananas). When I put it on loaded up it sat better and kept the straps off my neck. However, once loaded I felt the thin shoulder straps more. Im hoping with some use it softens up, and I think it will, but if I had a chance to do over (and more time) I probably wouldn't buy this.

Pacsafe Luggage Rfid-Tec 175 Zippered Compact Organizer

I searched through about a zillion products before coming upon this one. It is exactly what I wanted. RFID plus I particularly like the fact that it completely zips shut. Inside there is room for your passport, credit cards and cash (although in the picture it's difficult to tell that there is a cash pocket. There is). And it's large enough that if you had to carry passports for a few of your kids or some other type of papers, I'd guess that they would also fit inside and you'd still be able to zip it -that is, as long as you don't have it overstuffed with credit cards and cash. It's a little bulky wearing it around the neck but the attached cord makes it possible to do that. It would fit in a larger pocket of a jacket, but probably not your pants pocket unless you have those larger cargo type pockets. I can see myself using this one for years to come. Just wish it had come in some other colors.

Size fits nicely in a cargo pocket of my travel pants, it's light weight and holds two passports and lots of cards. I especiallylike the double currency compartments. I was not crazy about the attached string. I would simply never carry this around my neck. I remove the string by cutting away the stitching. Worked perfectly.

Wife and I used this to carry our passports and other travel info in and it came in handy. Had plenty of space for both passports once we got familiar with it. Sometimes getting through airport security can be a little hectic but this helped out greatly.

Military Inspired Crossbody Messenger Bag Laptop Case Backpack Black Canvas

I gave it three stars because, let's get real.. what can you possibly expect from a $30.00 bag other than for it to perform like, well, a $30.00 bag? It has enough pockets, good quality zippers (so far), and it does have some padding to protect a laptop, but I actually ended up getting a sleeve for the laptop as well, just in case. I should note that while the 15" Macbook Pro does fit, it just barely slips by the opening.

I really really love it. Excellent materials, the dimensions are perfect, the color is the same as the picture and has a very good quality!

Really i recommend this bag, has a lot of sections, for my laptop, hard disk, books, moleskine notepad, for my ipad, etc. I love it!

Patagonia Lightweight Travel Tote (Black)

This tote is perfect for a day touring around town. I can carry wallet, camera, light jacket, water bottle and more! The material is very lightweight so it is not heavy. The straps are similar to a backpack so they don't dig into you. The entire pack folds up very small so it doesn't take much room or weight in a suitcase!

I use this for groceries which i transport on my bicycle in the rear basket. It does not seem to be something you would want to use on long backpacking trips, just around town when you need extra carrying capacity while shopping. When i first received it, i was not that impressed with it, but over time i started to like it for what it's best used for which is as i said short trips around town. It serves best as an "emergency pack". Patagonia has sewn some thin padding on the side that goes against your back to cushion sharp objects which may poke your back some. It a good deal, worth the money.
