I'll be honest, I just didn't want to wear a money belt during my travels to europe. I think they're stupid, albeit practical. This is a perfect alternative. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but there are two loops for hanging from your belt, one is black and other is brown (for different belt colors). For extra security, I always use both loops, since my shirt covers my belt anyway. The pocket hangs inside my pants along my hip. You can also position it to hang in front of one of your thighs, but I find this less comfortable. I use it to carry my passport, medical vaccination records, emergency cash (or excess cash, if you've just visited the ATM and don't want to have a lot of money in your standard wallet), and emergency credit cards. Basically, I only use my regular wallet for spending cash, my ATM card, and one credit card. If my wallet gets stolen I will still have identification, some cash, and at least one credit card.

We bought two of these for a trip to Barcelona (a notorious pick-pocket city). They are a very nice solution; easy to use and safe. However, on the first day the loop on one of them started to pull out of the seam. By day 10, both loops had completely shredded and disconnected from the bag. This is a great idea for a travel bag for carrying passport, etc however, the loop frayed and came off the pouch and I nearly lost the pouch, money, and passport in a market before I felt it sliding down my leg. I had seen others that had the same problem so I guess I hit the jackpot. Other Eagle Creek products have worked well, but they need to find a new manufacturer for this one. Close, but no cigar.
Received luggage prior to a trip the UK. Thrilled with the materials and look of the bags but upon arrival in London two of the four bags developed problems with the retractible handles. They would not retract into bags. Very disappointed and would not purchase from this manufactor again.

I purchased this backpack at the beginning of December, but did not receive it until the beginning of February. I love the design and style, but it was poorly made. After using it for about 3 weeks one of the straps broke from the bottom, the straps are starting to tear at the top, and the outer pocket has a hole in the top from where the threads came loose. Very disappointed I spent $17 for something that only lasted 3 weeks.
This backpack is the perfect size for me. I love being able to take my computer conveniently in the back pocket. I use the outside side pockets for my water bottle and coffee mug, and the outside bigger pocket for my quick to grab stuff. The used climbing rope hook on the inside is an awesome touch! I feel like I will have this bag forever!
My daughter loves the owls and wanted an owl backpack for school. This is definitely cute but not holding up. It started falling apart after just a week. She likes the way it looks and wants to keep using it. So now the tie on the side pouch has come unravelled beyond repair and I need to stitch a handle to the bag.

I love this little hemp back pack. It's so cute and practical. I'll be able to use it for short hikes and jaunts around the city. It's also small enough to pack in a carry on for traveling. This style of backpack I was looking for has to be durable and have some padding in it to keep my things where I want them and this seems to fit the bill.
I originally was going to buy the outdoor products powerpack 2.0, until I found this smaller backpack. It is indeed a lot smaller than the OP powerpack, but still has some of the nice features. The Glide Laptop Pack has the padded hidden pocket on the lower back of the pack along with a fleece lined sunglasses pocket on the front. The Glide doesn't have an excessive amount of room, but it's comfortable enough and large enough for carrying my school things around in.

This backpack is the perfect size for me to use for work and school. The size isn't too big in which it would be cumbersome to handle, nor is it too small in which it can't hold a lot of items. The nice feature is the fleece lined pocket that is advertised to hold sunglasses, but I use it to hold my cell phone since it does have some padding and is fleece lined. The side pockets come in handy when you just want to quickly throw in some small loose items and want to quickly retrieve them later. The laptop pocket is padded and works well when going through the TSA scanners. The front pocket is perfect for storing items such as flash drives and pens/pencils as well as a charger for my phone and tablet. I could tell the moment I first opened the compartments that this was the most well built back pack I had ever owned. This will definitely outlast any other backpack I have had from other manufacturers and serve me well for years to come. As many others have said, there are a number of storage compartments, making it easy to reach what you are looking for without digging through all your stuff. I have never had an eyeglass/sunglass compartment before, and this proved to be very useful on my first trip. My sunglasses made it through without getting bent and deformed. I really love the laptop sleeve, and it makes it a breeze to get my computer without removing other items. And the sleeve is TSA approved, so all you do is pullit out of the compartment and place the sleeve on the scanner belt. After passing security, it slides right back in easily! My only fault is that the main compartment for books/notepad is pretty thin, so I cannot take as much with me, but I accepted that for the sake of selecting a pack that would easily fit under an airline seat. I am very pleased with this purchase!
I really like this bag. It seems really sturdy and has been abused. I have used a number of offshore bags over the years and this one seems like it will last in the long run.
These backpacks are good quality considering the price. My complaint comes from not being able to specify a color, and often getting a color not advertised. We ordered 10 backpacks, and instead of the red/blue/black options given on the webpage, we got purple, lime green, hot pink, and turquoise. Nice colors, but not what we expected. On our second order we got bright orange. If you like surprises, then you will like these backpacks, but if your son won't want to carry a hot pink bag to school, you should keep looking elsewhere.

I was looking for a larger but fun backpack to take as a carry on for flights. This worked and provided more room than I expected. I took it to Disneyland with me and ended up stuffing one of the character Pet Pals Pillow things in there which not only did it fit completely but I could also get my small purse, phone, kindle, water bottle, and misc other things with no problems it still fit nicely under the seat. My original order I received the orange. Since that clashed with my luggage, I ordered another and hoped for the best the second backpack received was the green which worked out great. I recently had back surgery and try to avoid carrying things, this back works perfectly for me. It has large padded shoulder straps that are very comfortable when the back pack is on my back. Alternatively I can roll the backpack. The wheels have nice size (but I don't feel them when the backpack is on my back) and it rolls smoothly. The telescoping handle extends easily, and the backpack rolls steadily without flipping or jiggling. The empty backpack is pretty light, so it does not add a lot of weight of its own.
My kids love it. After all it is Angry Birds. It is also reasonably priced. Unfortunately it is not very durable. I purchased 2 of these bags back in September. One of them fell apart a month ago. The other one is not in very good shape.

This backpack is wonderful! I can fit all of my schoolbooks, laptop, and lunch in here without any problem. The straps are comfortable and pull my shoulders back when I walk so the heavy load doesn't hurt to carry around. The design is especially cute, it's feminine and pretty while not being too flashy. I've gotten lots of compliments on it and would buy it again in a heartbeat!

DaKine makes a fabulous bag. I took this on a trip as my "personal carryon" item. It easily packed everything I wanted mid-flight. I also use the bag everyday for work and school. The laptop compartment easily holds my 15 in MacBook Pro. I wish it had a little more padding, but it is sufficient as long as I don't throw it with my MB in it. It has ample pockets and keeps everything organized in a functional way. It has fuzzy lined pockets that hold my Oakley shades and iPhone. I don't use the "cooler pocket" to carry food but rather an additional space to stash things I keep with me. The only complaint I have is the lack of places to keep my cables. I bought this backpack in Navy/Vivienne Plaid and i just have to say that the pattern is even cuter in person! I'm in the eighth grade and I have a locker, but I barely use it because I can fit all of my stuff in this backpack!
