Well made but poorly desingned. There is no anti slip so the strap keeps sliding off your shoulder. Don't buy it!

The strap provides good comfort on the shoulder, however it is loosely fixed and will shift easily down the strap. If it had a rubberized sheath it would hold up better.

It's rather bulky, so for those of you who use your Timbuktu's to transport, say, gold bullion, then I say yes, buy this. If you're one of the regular folks who don't have massive heavy loads, this might be a waste of money.

I love love love my Timbuk2 Medium Messenger Bag, and had used it for school/grocery shopping for several years without the strap pad. I bought the pad before going to study abroad in Europe last summer since I was using my bag as a carry-on. The pad really made a remarkable difference. I took my bag through 6 different airports, used it as a weekender, and essentially lived out of it the whole summer. The pad made carrying my life around on my shoulder much more bearable. I now use it for school again, and I can tell a difference in the amount of cutting-into-shoulder pain. Definitely worth it, if you're going to commit to an excellent Timbuk2 bag, go for the pad as well and really get the most out of your bag.
