* Compact
* Lightweight
* Cheap
CONS:
* Somewhat flimsy
* Suitable for light or moderate rain, but probably not windy storms
As I summarized above, I think this umbrella is suitable for light-to-moderate rain. Its small size when compacted also helps it fit nicely in my bag as a "backup" umbrella in case of unexpected rain (or days where I don't want to bring a larger, sturdier umbrella for whatever reason). I think that is the best use for it--I would *not* want to rely on this in case of heavy rain (you'd probably want a wider umbrella) or windy days (it will flip inside out; get a sturdier one for those days).
Besides the size and weight advantages, the other advantage is the price--but at this price point you should know you're not getting the best quality. One of the metal "arms" that supports the umbrella has already bent for me in what I'd consider average storm wind, and I suspect a few other bends or breakages won't be far behind. Still, this may be acceptable for you if you think you'll use it rarely, need a small umbrella, don't have much wind, and don't mind the umbrella occasionally flipping the wrong way. I don't think you can expect much more at this price.
