Chose this version for my new Toshiba laptop, specifically because the Tosh virtually matches the dimensions of the Dell Vostro 3500 that this product was supposedly designed for. I had no illusions that this was going to provide ample protection for the Toshiba; after all, neoprene sleeves for ANY electronics product will only go so far. Think of this as the notebook equivalent of a pair of coveralls; keeps the liquids off but when someone drops the 2x4 on it...well, you get the picture. The fitment of the sleeve is actually too generous, particularly in the front-to-back dimension which results in a definite 'wrinkled un-ironed' look, yet it's not too big that the sensitive electronics inside--whether it be my Tosh or the Dell or HP G62-105 that it was purportedly sized for--will freely slip and slide around in. The durability of the neoprene body and the zipper looks decent enough, but it's not at all thick, heavy-duty and stout as I've seen with more expensive sleeves so there's not even a hint that this cover will be able to take a pounding and keep your computer nice and safe. Scratch protection yes, hard bumps and grinds...well, perhaps you need to get a Panasonic Toughbook, or at least a far better case. Definitely suited as the liner that protects the finish of your computer from the ravages of your backpack's zipper and miscellaneous other sharp object that may reside alongside it. The physical appearance of the material is straightforward bland in its monotone blue; the only embellishment is the maker's logo stenciled on one of the exterior panels.
In the end this product fits the old cliche: it is what it is. And it's definitely nothing more, which makes it about as average a cheap laptop case can be. 2 1/2 stars.I love these so much, I've purchased them for every laptop in my family and for my friends. And they love them too. Just another layer of shock absorption and liquid protection. Thanks Amazon! This inexpensive sleeve is made of thin material and has an unsubstantial feeling to it, especially compared to others which I have. The rigid piping around the edge provides a certain amount of strength, but at the same time prevents one from folding the case when not in use. A thicker material would have been preferable. One note: This is advertised for a Dell Vostro 3500. I have that computer, and the fit is looser than I think it should be if designed for that model.
