Pacsafe Luggage Slingsafe 250 Gii Handbag

I've been carrying a Kipling Alvar XS for about a year now, and it's great sturdy, understated, and well it WAS just right for my stuff. But I've been finding more and more "things I need to keep with me" so the Alvar just won't cut it any longer. Kipling, who would be my first choice for a replacement, doesn't really make a "slightly larger" bag that appeals to me. The regular size Alvar is too, too big and floppy.

So I spent a while poking around Macy's, Nordstrom, REI and other places. I'd always been intrigued by Pacsafe but I don't need the safety elements, or at least, I haven't yet needed them. But this looked cute. I did make a mockup of the bag with a piece of paper and feared it might be too big, but I took a chance and ordered it anyway.

Once it's unstuffed with the tissue paper it ships with, and has my essentials in it, it has a much lower profile, and I'm happy with it. The Sky Blue is an accurate picture, although now that it's here I wonder whether I might not be happier with black. It's a bit summery.

Interior organization is reasonable; I can keep my cell phone in the outer pocket for easy access, and it's all good.

Pacsafe is by far the best quality out there for security travel bags. I own 2, the very small metrosafe 100 which got me through Italy feeling like I didn't have to keep my hand on my bag all day. I also own the Metrosafe 250. It is overkill for carrying an ipad, too much room and kinda heavy. The slingsafe would have been perfect but the ipad won't fit. Someone needs to really evaluate travel needs for tablets and ipads, the selection out there is poor, so I bought the Travelon React Small Messenger Bag. The security clasp broke the first day. But the size was right!

AND you can even find the stuff that you are looking for. I did go out a buy a small coin purse and a plastic holder for my credit cards. Other than that I love it and would recommend it to anyone who wants to feel that their "Stuff" is going to be safe. Also it looks good with everything I use it with. I got the black one but there are other nice colors available too.

This bag is not fashionable, but I knew that going in. It did seem a bit over sized at first, but it fits everything I want to carry quite well, and I got used to it. I like that I am able to carry it behind me without worry. It is roomy, functional, and will hold everything I want to carry around with me during the day on my upcoming trip. It is currently holding, wallet, passport, travel umbrella, Nook simple touch, camera, hair accessories, headphones, smartphone, a pen, powder compact, and chap stick. Once I arrive, I'll switch out the nook for a bottle of water, a foreign language dictionary, and a map. It holds all that without gaining a lot of bulk, the distribution of items works well.

The smart zipper lock takes some getting used to, it isn't the easiest to operate. When I used the zipper lock cover, I tried to access it later in the day and was unable to open it easily for a security bag check. However, I've found that if I don't use the zipper lock cover, it still seems secure, and I can access my things easier. Good idea, just seems poorly implemented in this particular bag.
