I bought this puppy so as to have a case to hold a fountain pen for flourishes and a sharpie pen for carbons.

First thing when I got it was to massage it well with mink oil. Had to have that soft leathery feel, sheen and smell.

Like to carry it either where it can be seen or where I can adroitly whip it out to demonstrate the truly erudite, sophisticated and very cool fellow that I am. Both inside and out. I am modest and self-effacing too.

I also like pretty girls who might be attracted to my leathery soul in addition to all else.

I rest my case.

I also purchased a triple Pelikan case,so I have a opportunity to compare.

1. price: pelikan $36 =$12/pen. Royce $25 = $12.50/pen

2. Leather quality : on scale 1-10 pelikan 10 royce 6

3. Padding : pelikan front and back full padding, royce only 2" on one side

4. The "padded flap" (actually only the end is padded ) makes impossible to feed it trough the tight loop.

And now the thing that makes the royce unusable, the divider. Like everything made in China contains cheap shortcuts here the divider is only one inch long. So, when you insert first pen, it will go diagonally to the opposite corner. Inserting the second will push the first one causing rubbing and scratching of your expensive pens..... UNUSABLE!!!

If I could see it before the purchase, I would never buy it.
