This neoprene sleeve is a little loose on the Envy X2 but does a good job and it doesn't fall out. I can ecen fit a stylus and notebook in there with it.

I must use a backpack due to shoulder, neck, and back problems (maybe because I carry too much crap?). This bag has wide straps to distribute weight and they don't dig or pinch my neck and shoulders. The bag doesn't slap my back when I walk or droop to my butt. However, my clothes sometimes creep up if I do a lot of walking, and I need to pull down my shirt or jacket in the back. Only other problems: It weighs too much with all my stuff in it! (Duh!) It weighs five pounds when empty. The leather strap over the buckle curls up now after 12 months+ of use. I need to polish the leather due to some scuff marks...haven't done it yet. I tried to replace this bag just for variety's sake, and looked for hours and hours at over 1600 different bags in stores and online. I briefly tried two others. Now I'm back to this one and want to get it in black and maybe get another one in brown just to have when/if this one wears out. Bellino also makes matching luggage, laptop bags, etc.

I took it with me on my trip to France. I now use it for school. Pack can enlarge or reduce in size by buckling and adjusting straps.Doesn't have toooo many pockets and zippers like my old one. Sturdy and soft. Easy on the eyes too.

this is not "new". Issued/Used would be a reasonable choice of words to describe this rucksack.it is frayed, heavily faded (does not look like picture.)rust stained,all metal parts are rusty.canvas has been repaired in several places.(hence why i think its been issued/used.) the upper strap was frayed and promptly came apart.the webbing attachment point are faded white and weak,stitching is coming undone in several places...so this looks like its been left out in the elements for some time.less than thrilled.

So reading threw some of these reviews I was very hesitant about buying this ruck/day pack but then I saw the price and thought to my self what is there to loose, so I bought it got it and now I love it. This pack is NOT a ruck, more or less a couple of days worth of gear and maybe not even that. Now don't get me wrong you can fit a crap ton of small stuff in it but nothing larger than 2 days worth of clothes and some small gear. I do a lot of travel and field work and this ruck makes a great bag for my field work and also gives me the capabilities to carry it on to an aircraft with no problems. There is a smaller flap in the top of the main compartment with a little bit of handy work you can make an all right laptop compartment as well. Overall, I'd say this is a pretty cool backpack. From other reviews, I knew I was taking a risk, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. The pack I received is more of a camo green color than the tan it appeared in the pic. It doesn't have the normal shoulder straps I'm used to; they're more like a chest harness you might see on a pack horse. Still not sure how to attatch them yet, but I'll figure it out. The bag smells a bit weird, but I'm sure that'll wear off. Lastly, it seems to be pretty sturdy. It may be used, but it appears to have quite a bit of life left in it.It took a while to ship (I was aware of this before purchase), but it still came before the estimated arrival date. Altogether, it took 17 days to arrivenot bad.

Knog Big Dog Messenger Bag
I ordered the Knog Big Dog in the Lime green edition and was pleasantly surprised by how it looked, while it is brightly colored the colors are smooth and less garish than they might appear.Onto the bag itself, the strap is separate from the bag itself and attaches with a metal 'clip/buckle' on each side, this attachment is initially rather awkward but one attached it is secure though the metal of the buckles does feel a little cheap, though that could just be my impression. The quality of the bag is good and the pockets are well laid out, with one large open area, one large laptop sleeve and one more full length open zipped pocket behind the laptop sleeve. The other pockets are a nice mix of zippered and non zippered pockets, there is room in the laptop sleeve for a 15 in laptop along with a second laptop sleeve for extra padding. The two easy access pockets on the front are perfect for my bicycle u-lock and water bottle. The flap is closed with a single patch of velcro and two plastic ratcheting straps, they are secure ,easy to manage ,and quick to open.
The bag could use some extra rigidity since when it is nearly empty it is hard to manage and a bit cumbersome.
The quick release buckle is for me at least the single biggest caveat with this otherwise quality product, when in the closed position it prevents to strap from loosening, and when open it allows easy adjustment, the issue is that it does not stay closed. It often opens and causes the bag to suddenly loosen which can be difficult to readjust on the fly(I was able to solve this issue by placing a piece bicycle inner tube over the buckle to hold it closed).
Another issue is that the secondary strap designed to stabilize it goes along the bottom of the bag from bottom corner to bottom corner, if you like me wear the bag with the strap diagonally across your body then this strap is mostly useless, it does nothing, since it goes awkwardly over my waist or stomach depending on how high the bag rides. Unlike the Chrome messenger bags which have an underarm stabilizing strap which seems better designed.
Overall, this is a very nice bag with a large amount of storage space (it is a large bag so make sure that you have enough stuff to justify the purchase) and a well thought out layout but a strap design that lets down what would otherwise be a superb bag. At this point I have had the bag for several weeks and it seems to be holding up well with no fraying or damage.

Seems to be decently made and is about what was expected. the leather does seem fragile and easily ripped so be careful not to bump into anything with it. If you need a briefcase but don't have the budget for one that will last three generations then this one will get you by. I can tell you that you do NOT want to go cheaper with the other 20-30 dollar options on Amazon. Trust me on this one, you will be disappointed and won't get much use out of the product and have to spend more to replace it and wait for the shipping...you get the idea.

Tactical Medium MOLLE Military Transport Pack Backpack
While deployed in Southwest Asia, I ordered the Fox Medium Transport Pack in foliage green after reading the previous reviews. I used this pack for day-to-day back-and-forth use, as an alternative to a large deployemnt backpack. I hiked with it round trip from work to quarters. Main compartment opens very wide so you can pack your coat, rain, or gym gear. The two front pockets were ideal for carrying small items such as flashlights, and small gadgets, You can easily fit your Pad or 10" netbook in the mid compartment with space to spare. The velcro in top pocket allows you to attach your nametag or patch. This pack fits petite, regular and wide shoulder builds, but you need to spend some time adjusting the straps to your fit, but once you adjust them, you do not feel the pack at all. Attachment points fit both ALICE and MALICE clips. Metal loops are great for attaching lights, hooks, etc. Compression straps are very manageable and have stowing loops. You can ride a bike or a cycle with the pack on. The removable upper and side compression straps are long enough to attach a rolled jacket or towel. The hydration pocket is good for a small or medium sized hydration bag. Pack was also easy to stoy or carry on lap when inside vehicles. If you need a medium pack for military use at a budget price, consider this one. Also good for outdoor sports, scouting, and other uses.
I'm going to a shooting competition and will use this for my overnight bag. The main compartment has a small document compartment as well as a mesh pocket for small toiletries. This compartment has a pair of my size 16 sneakers, pair of jeans, socks etc and my competition shirt. (I'm telling you this so you get a sense of size, not because I think you are morbidly curious about my clothing.)
The next compartment is a little thinner so I've put assorted T's in there with some shotgun cleaning patches, cleaning rods and so on. And then the 2 smaller pockets have ammo. I've used some of the MOLLE points to attach a couple of external pouches that contain more ammo. It IS a shooting competition; I have just over 100 12-gauge rounds in the pack.
The shoulder straps are padded and have multiple attachment points. There is both a chest and a waist strap so I have been able to jog in this without too much noise or discomfort in 102-degree heat. There's also a hydration bladder pocket and I've been using this for hydration not only when hiking/jogging but also when riding my motorcycle. Too bad the hydration bladder isn't supposed to contain alcohol..... :-)
All in all, I score this 5/5 and am going to get another for a friend.

I bought this bag after looking for a small bag that would fit a lot of gear but still be reasonable to hike with. Settled on this one after all the price was nice, and the Maxpedition Falcon II was double the price. When i opened it i was really impressedthe color was a nice olive drab and the nylon felt strong enough. I loaded the bag up with gear and tried it on. Straps were pretty good and did a solid job with the weight and comfort. I was stoked to think i made a great purchase.Fast forward to day 2. I opened the bag to rearrange the gear, went to zip it up and the zipper completely pulled away from the bag. Just completely became unstitched and worthless. I was upset and took a closer look. The zipper is attached with widely spaced and loose thread, the zipper is held on with thread going through the wide zippier. Obviously not rebuild-able even if you had put some serious use on the bag and it later failed.
I promptly ordered the Maxpedition. What i should have done all along. They use YKK zippers which never fail. Even if they should its a sewn in zipper which could be replaced if needed. Buy once cry once.
One note...i see this bag listed multiple times under different categories. Oddly, negative reviews disappear when that item is deleted so be careful. Maybe mine was a lemon, but looking at the construction i am guessing the failure rate is higher than suggested by reviews (at least those that don't disappear).

So, I just received my Army Digital Fox Medium Transport Pack. First thing I notice that is not the same as what I thought I ordered is that the picture shown of the Army Digital Pack shows that this pack has black zippers and black under padding on the shoulder straps. It actually has consistent color with the Army Digital color pattern. It is actually better that they are not black. This is not really an issue at all, but, I just thought I was getting a pack with Army Digital patterning and black zippers.I like the size of this pack. It is a little smaller than a full daypack, but way bigger than you might think. This pack can hold a lot of stuff. It is even wide enough to fit my 15" MacBook Pro in the main compartment and still have more room for more stuff. This pack is more long than it is wide, which gives it a smaller look, but this pack is deep. The combined depth of all compartments at the base of the pack is approximately 10-12".
I will be using this pack as an every day carry pack. I work IT and need a pack that can easily convert from a work pack to a weekend warrior pack, either hiking, at the range, camping, or whatever I need to use it for. So far, I can fit my laptop, hard drives, thumb drives, all my cables, pens and pencils, notepads, keys, and etc, etc, etc... it can then convert to filling it with ammo, hearing protection, magazines, knives, cleaning kits, and a few handguns for the range and it does this all with glory. I am now more than willing to purchase another so I can have my work and play bags separated.
I am thoroughly enjoying this pack.

I bought this pack for two purposes. One, to use during day hiking trips and two, to use for work.This thing has a whole bunch of pockets which are segmented making it easy to organize your belongings. In addition to the multitude of pocket it has a MOLLE strap system to attach various knives, flashlights, and such. Also, there is a pocket for a camelback hydration system.
I work in web design and social media consultation and primarily bought this back because I knew my 15" Macbook would fit in it as well as all my accessories such as external hard-drive, iPod, Headphones, pens, notebooks, etc. Everything has it's place. The best thing is that if I feel like going on a day hiking trip and can easily unload my work gear and pack up my outdoor gear unleashing my woodman alter ego.
This may be important to some of you, as it is me, so I thought I'd mention it...I purchased the OD Green version of this bag and it's the "good", toned-down OD Green color, not the bright green color that some of the pics in the description indicate. So I was pleased about that. I like to be cryptic when I'n on the trail since I walk amongst large cats and wild hogs.
All the straps and buckles are of military spec and look as if they will handle quite a bit of wear and tear. So far, I've only been able to use this bag to transport my work gear and have yet to take it in the field (hence only the 4-star rating), but I soon hope to do just that. I will be sure to write a follow-up review and update the rating as soon as I do.

Microsoft Edge Messenger Bag for 17.3" Laptops (Orange Trim)
I loved everything about this bag, for about 2 weeks. Then the material started to fray from the edge binding, any area that I used to capacity. First, was the water bottle holder. I only used a small bottle. Then I noticed the fraying, so I stopped using that pouch. A few weeks later, the fraying began on the main back panel around the corners; and from there it just got worse, so I returned it to the store. Too bad, I loved the front pouch perfect for MP3 player. This is a well designed, bag except for the quality of the construction.
In the short time I had this bag though I was impressed by the materials used to construct it. It feels very well made and despite my not being able to keep the bag I was confident that this messenger bag was up to the task of everyday use. The handle, strap and zippers felt sturdy and well attached. The inner cushioning is substantial and I felt that my laptop would survive bumps and drops inside this bag.
Looks wise what attracted me most to this bag was that it doesn't look too professional or too much like a grungy student laptop bag. The styling is nicely in-between and I would feel appropriate carting this bag into my workplace in a suit or in more casual environments.
One of my favorite features of this bag is the orange lining. The entire inner compartment of this bag is lined in orange making finding cords, jump drives, pens or anything else a cinch. For anyone who's owned a black-on-black laptop bag and struggled to find dark colored peripherals inside their bag this will be a nice feature.
I'm a bit disappointed that I won't be able to use this bag but otherwise would recommend it to anyone with a compatible laptop.

It's a really nice bag, but online it said it was for a 17.3 inch screen. I just bought a new Toshiba 17.3 inch screen laptop and it doesn't fit!! The tag on the bag says it fits "most 17 inch screens", so I think online it was kind of deceiving. Then there's another tag on the same bag that says the device should be 15.5 inches. Timbuk2 Especial Tres Backpack (Medium)
Maybe I'm hypercritical, but this bag is flawed and I'm terribly disappointed. I had high hopes. The problem is that it's not a rolltop bag like they say and display. The pictures all show the top neatly tolled up and secure. What is hard to see is that there's nothing keeping it rolled. It's hard to exlain, but there are snap clips that hold the top down, but nothing keeps it rolled up. As soon as you jostle the bag, the top unrolls and becomes a flap that hangs down in front of the outer pockets. Then you can't get into front pocket without awkwardy displacing the "rolltop". Furthermore, the same straps/clips that hold down the top make it very difficult to unzip the highly-touted side access zipper. The video on Timbuk2's website (and youtube) show a guy effortlessly accessing all the compartments, but when you watch this video after holding the bag it starts to become apparent that he is skillfully hiding these problems.
Zippered pockets are easily accessible.
Slim profile preserves a good rear visual field.
When the bag is filled with the roll top fully unfolded the back of my helmet hits the bag.

I bought this pack after realizing that my trusty Seagull backpack was nearly melting to my back in the swampy DC summers. The molded back support on the Especial Tres allows for some badly needed air flow.The interior laptop sleeve is nicely waterproof, on top of the largely water-resistant bag itself. I have no worries about my delicate electronics when caught in a sudden squall. The Tres has many nooks and crannies, allowing you to carefully stow everything in its place if you so choose. Of course, you're likely to forget about a zippered compartment here and there, which could get awkward the next time you head to the airport.
Also at the airport, the tres can usually wedge under the seat in front of you in a pinch, unless you are in a deHavilland or Embraer. The molded back piece means that there is no way to easily reduce the height of the pack, which some flight attendants may have issues with. It's the luck of the draw to avoid a gate-check with this pack on the small planes.
The compression straps means that it's very easy to reduce the depth of the bag, however, and the zippered expansion area means that it's also easy to expand the pack into a gaping bag of holding. I have successfully shoved a 2U router in this pack and run through Union Station to catch a train, with no worries that the the router would somehow escape its confines. (NOT in a rainstorm; the pack cannot close over the top of the router, but the compression straps hold everything tight.)
Unfortunately, if the main compartment is moderately full, it can be hard to get items in and out of the front compartment. I've scraped up my hand on the velcro a couple of times, which can suck. Additionally, while shiny material on the front is fairly tough and repels water, it's more vulnerable to nicks and scrapes than the cordura.
All in all, I like this pack very much; I'm probably going to switch packs for winter, when air circulation is less of a draw, but it was a lovely summer/fall pack.
