Purchased this bag for my 8th grade daughter for this school year. I received it on August 20th, 2011. She went to school with it on August 22nd, 2011 (1st day of school) by August 24 the shoulder strap was coming off the bag! You may be wondering what in the world my daughter had in her bag! A composition note book, 1 math book, a 3 ring binder with about 50 pages of paper in it! It is not like she was carrying an elephant in it! This bag is not worth buying. Look for something else.

This bag is not meant to carry books, or anything else for that matter. It didn't last 2 weeks into the school year before the lining started to fray and the cheap strap attachments started ripping. My fouth grader had to carry her text books in her arms because the strap wasn't wide enough or offer enough support for her small frame. It may be affordable and pretty but it really isn't worth wasting your money on. I got this for my 1st grader two weeks before school started and we filled it with her school supplies. When school started it was filled with 2 folders, and at most 1 spiral notebook, not really heavy. She did not put anything in the flap part. All of her stuff was stored in the regular part of the bag. After 3 weeks of school the stitching around the darker pink areas started coming apart and along the underside of the top flap, obvious fraying. It looks new aside from the edges.
