Jan 14, 2013 Update, I was looking through backpacks for an upcoming trip to Thailand that my wife is making. I had a good look at my sons Camelbak and you know what? Apart from a little dirt here and there it's still going strong. All stitching and zippers are like brand new, no wear spots, and if this thing keeps going he'll probably end up using it for college. I can't say enough about how pleased I am he hasn't been able to kill it. I highly recommend this backpack. So choosing a backpack is pretty tough. There are so many brands out there plus even when you look at camelbaks, there are dozens of styles and types. I chose this one because I needed laptop storage and wanted an every day carry pack. I looked at the urban assault but decided I wanted one that wasnt so big and bulky. Another tough thing is that very few stores carry these tactical camelbaks its not like you can just go see it in person. You have to rely on video reviews and online research. After carefully considering my options and double checking my storage needs, I went with this bag. It has plenty of storage and pockets for anything you will need on a day to day basis. The resevoir is smaller than the standard camelbak one, but it does ok for day to day, this is not a hiking pack. Camelbak quality is unsurpassed and im glad I went with this model. The only thing that is a bit of a bummer, which is not like camelbak to do, is that if you choose to keep the resovoir in the main pocket and go with over the shoulder with the hydration tube, there is no small hole between the large compartment and the outside, so you have to just leave zipp around the tube, which works, but it would be ideal if it had that passage for the tube, Overall a great pack and the laptop protection is very good.

Great bag.It has ample space while not being overwhelmingly big. I would recommend this for others looking for a big bag with useable pockets

This is my favorite camelbak pack. I have the HOGG and BFM as well. The reason I like this pack the most it is that the water bladder is held in one of the side pockets, which frees up the space normally used for a water bladder to be used as a waterproof laptop compartment. In most of the other packs, I would have to put my laptop in the main compartment when carrying a water bladder. Although because of this location it carries a 1.5 Liter bladder while other packs of its size carry a 3 Liter.
Highly recommend this pack

I've had this thing for a couple of months and it still looks brand new. I don't use the hydration pack, but it's cool that it matches. The laptop compartment is perfect for my 15.6" laptop and the padding is adequate. It's risen a little off the bottom of the backpack so when it drops the laptop won't hid the ground first. However, this only really works if there's something like books in the larger compartment to break the fall.I've used it for carry-on and daily use just lugging stuff around. It's not comfortable unless you get the straps set up just right, but once you do it works well enough. The sternum strap is especially nice because it's elastic on one side.
It has plenty of room for books and a great organizer compartment. The "hidden pocket" isn't hidden at all unless you cut the paracord off the zipper, but that makes it harder to open. The side pockets are huge and fit the 1 liter Camelbak bottle perfectly. Overall it the best backpack I've ever had and it looks like it's built to last a lifetime.
