This bag seems very well made. This review is mainly to point out a few things that I would have liked to know before ordering.
On the front flap is a pocket for sunglasses lined in soft material. Inside the bag are several very small pockets and pouches, possibly large enough to hold a cell phone. There is also a bottle holder inside the bag on the side.
Overall a very good storage setup that does not seem cluttered or pointless. My main concern purchasing this bag was that it would be a really good phone charger and a really poor bag. This is not the case.I bought this bag for two reasons
1 to have a bag that can store a ton of stuff
2 to have a bag that could charge my devices on the go
This bag excells at both. Its great when traveling and when I'm working outside of the office because I can charge up the devices when an outlet isnt available. The thing is built exceptionally well, its obvious a lot of thought was put into the design. Case in point, their "fly flat" design for the laptop compartment lets you keep the laptop in the bag when going through airport security. All you have to do is unzip that compartment on 3 sides and it lays flat while still attached. That shows the thought put into this bag for someonenon the go.
My only complaint is that the built in micro usb charger doesnt pump out enough amps to charge my galaxy nexus. I dont have apple products, so I did a quick and easy mod to change out the end of the ipod connector using a spare micro usb cable. It puts out 1 amp, so it should charge any newer phone with a micro usb. I had it charging my phone, kindle paperwhite and galaxy note 10.1 all at once with zero issues... lets see any other bag do that :)
I highly recommend this product for the business traveler or gadget person that needs to have some backup juice available wherever they go.In my view, this laptop case meets the requirements and expectations for its intended use case and protect a laptop during transportation and provide sufficient and convenient room for the related items someone may bring along while traveling with the laptop. In addition, of course, you have the charger. It's not a big deal and, given the choice I'd prefer a lower price and the freedom to buy my own charger but I really don't mind it. Just keep in mind that the charger will NOT charge your laptop. I will only charge your phone and a tablet for as long as they can be charged through a Mini or Micro USB port.
Briefly, this is what you get:
Padded nylon for good protection.
Soft and light.
Cushions inside the laptop compartment for extra protection.
File folder storage compartment.
Enough pockets and partitions, some padded.
Smooth zipper.
Phone/tablet charger.
Unfolds so that it can lay flat on an airport (do messengers fly?) scanner conveyor belt with the laptop separated from the other half of the case.
Overall, I will grant this product 5 stars (it's 4.5 rounded up). It's not a full 5 star because, while I liked it very much it didn't quite 'wow' me.This bag does have some good things about it: battery pack, spacious, many pockets.
HOWEVER, the so-called "laptop" pocket does NOT fit a 17" laptop!! My home laptop measures 16.5" and will not fit in the designated laptop pocket. This because the design of the bag was poorly conceived. The zipper extends to 17" but due to the "fly flat" zipper that allows the bag to open like a flap, the way the flap is sown to the rest of the bag prevents a large laptop from being inserted into the pocket! It actually connects to the rest of the bag OVER TOP of the pocket that is for laptop. Ridiculous!!!!
Do not buy if your laptop has a length greater than 15 inches and you want it to fit in the "laptop pocket". With that said my 17" laptop still fits in the bag but it is juggling loosely around the inside area with the other pockets. If you have a lot of stuff to cram in the rest of the bag this may not work well for you when you cant use the "laptop pocket".
Also, no information really comes with the bag other than the booklet on charging devices and connectors.I have had the bag for a week now and really appreciate the nice details. The front pouches hold your devices needing charging, and there are many pockets inside for pens, papers, gadgets, and lots of room for your laptop or tablet. I use a full size laptop, a Dell M4700 and its very roomy for my computer. If there was one thing I would add it would be a foam pad at the bottom of the bag to cushion the laptop.
