ILBE Assault Pack Generation 2 Marpat Previously Issued
I wanted a bag I could take camping or on a day hike through the woods. I din't want to shell out the big bucks for name-brand backpacks, and I figured if the ILBE was good enough for the USMC to go to war with, it was probably good enough to carry my things into a state park.The materials are built of rugged stuff. My particular bag has trace signs of wear and tear, but nothing needed sewing/patching or replacement. There are more straps on this thing than you will likely ever need, but if you do, there they are. The buckles are a very tough and thick plastic. Fully loaded and fastened properly, this bag fits well and does not make you feel like you are about to topple over. There is also a pocket and small opening if you should wish to add a hydration pouch to the ensamble.
If you want more room for more than a day trip into the woods, you should probably get this with the ILBE main pack it attaches to it. I went ahead and ordered the main pack a few days after having this, not because this is a poor product, but because it is a good one and I know the whole thing will be marvelous together.
The assault pack + main pack is just as good as any outdoor retailer's backpacking gear that you can pick up for $200-$300, but this is cheaper and literally battle tested.
And for all you survivalists/preppers, the assault pack would make a fantastic BOB.

I just recieved my package today and im impressed with my purchase. Everything is as i expected it to be and better. The only sign of wear is the tag is faded inside it. The only partial complain id have with it is the way it was shipped. there is a plastic backplate in the backpack and the backpack was rolled to fit in the box. Its not any permanent damage but was curved for a hour or so after opening. I was expecting some dirty semi-used pack. If this was used, the Marine washed out of boot camp on day one. This is quite new. No stains, dirt smell...nothing.The pack is built very well by Propper (see my image).
There is the main compartment. Inside the main, there is a full length "pouch" with an elastic top. There is also a generous outside pocket.
The waist/hip belts conceal nicely (I didn't even see them for a couple days). I'm a big guy, and straps all fit well.
The quality is great. Sure there are a few tufts of thread from manufacturing. The zippers are tight and the buckles strong
I might buy another!

I love this backpack, lots of goodies. Padded shoulder straps adjustable, with chest strap. Waist belt with wide strong belt and heavy plastic buckles very ergonomic too. Mine was used and missing the top grab handle, no problem. There was a hole punched in the back of the pack about two inch tear, easy to iron on a sticky patch. It has that used funk smell, but a bath in the sink and some air outside will fix that. One buckle, a small one on the four side cinch straps was missing but you won't hear me complain. And shipping was cheap, Arkansas from CA six bucks? UPS works cheap. INcluding shipping I paid 23 and change.. Nod to Prime Outdoors, Amazon Vendor. There is no tag or manufacturers name on the backpack. Hey, I noticed that there was a slot for the huge padded belt from the main pack. I'm pretty confident that's why they did that. So you can use your better waist belt, heavily padded, from the main rucksack should you have it.

I've been scouring the net for over a year now looking for any and everything that would comfortably fit my Dell XPS M1730 which is a monster of a laptop. The Dell bag that is offered is far from flattering and left a lot to be desired. I went through a Kensington and Sharper Image rolling case that couldn't actually fit the computer in the protective sleeve but still offered a decent solution by just placing the laptop in that section of the bag. Well, after buying this bag I can comfortably say I will NEVER buy a rolling laptop bag every again. This not only has plenty of room for my laptop in it's specified area but also the massive power brick. It has a multitude of pockets and zippered pouches to put plenty of stuff in.Because it isn't ideally suited for business travel (although that's what I use it for) everything inside is cloth pockets except for the back compartment that could probably fit 3 beers and ice with the lining it provides. But the cloth is actually a positive because this is the lowest profile backpack I have ever seen anywhere. I just took my first business trip with it and two people on the plane commented on how low profile it was and how sharp it looked even with the crazy pattern. It even comes with a smart phone holder on one of the straps.
It is also extremely comfortable to wear and your back doesn't get sweaty like a bunch of other backpacks probably do.
Overall this was the best money I've spent on a computer bag and I highly recommend if you have a monster laptop or just want a really cool bag then you consider this one. Everything is high quality from the zippers to the cloth inside. I think this will hold up for years.
BTW, the one I ordered was for the 17", they do have a model for 15" but this isn't it. This bag is highly worth it.
They thought thru the aesthetics of this bag but not the ergonomics.
The gimmick of this bag is a Velcro sealed pocket running down the back of the bag to keep drinks and snacks cool. (the pocket is lined with plastic presumably to keep condensation off your kit) It's a nice enough idea except that it doesn't seem to work too well and as soon as you put a can of coke in there it's is very uncomfortable to wear as you have a snack shaped bump resting against your spine.
I will give this bag 3 stars as although it does exactly what it's meant to do, there are bags out there that do it much better and for a smaller price tag. This bag is certainly a case of style over content & ergonomics.

Yes, confirmed this is the 17" version. So, in short:Plus: Outstanding build and material quality, beats Swissgear. Great design. Extremely comfortable and seems also extremely durable. Unless literally fully loaded, it's not very wide (when looked from the side), so you won't bang into other people if you walk and turn close to them.
Minus: Some minor design quirks. Mainly the accessibility of the compartment with keychain hook and pens. That's the only compartment with only 1 zipper (which could really use 2) and I found it inconvenient to use as a place where I'll store keys (the bag has another better 'fast access' compartment so it's all good). The other thing are the unprotected two corners when you put Alienware m17x inside. It's not really that bad, as only the corners are a little exposed but just something to keep in mind. The laptop protection is otherwise nothing but simply amazing.
Despite the small things I noted as minuses, I love the backpack and would highly recommend it. I'd give it 9/10. Do keep in mind though, it's the best backpack I have used so far and I haven't used one that I'd rate 10/10. :)

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it STINKS literally. It has a very weird odor, kind of like tar or some other chemical odor. I put stuff in it to take to work (I'm a caregiver & stay with my client for 3 days/nights at a time)& they came out smelling like the bag. Someone mentioned I should put the bag outside in the sun for several hours that's what a carpet cleaning guy told her to do when something had a chemical odor to it. I just got home from work & I'm going to try it today. It's going to be in the mid 90's so surely some of the smell will burn off!Other than that, I love all the pockets & it's very roomy inside. It rolls easily too.
Oh, FYI, it does have a California Prop 65 warning about containing chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects, etc. Those are probably the chemicals I'm smelling!

I am a full-time student. I take public transportation to school and the bag was in full use 5 days a week. Purchased in November, the wheels were cracked by February, and one of the wheels completely fell apart just 3 days ago (March 13), so I can't use it anymore (the bag's wheels died after only 4 months :( ).Also, it would be helpful if the bottom had a plastic or otherwise hard bottom because from wheeling it regularly, the fabric on the bottom gets ripped when you are pulling the bag up curbs or stairs. As soon as I can find my warranty paperwork, I will contact the mfr about replacement. Will update to advise if I experienced problems.

It works. It's a cheap duffel, so you get what you pay for. I use it for work as a carry-on for 4-5 day trips. It doesn't usually fit in the overhead (on regional flights) but I check it at the gate and it's fine. Shows a lot of wear and tear, got dirty easily. No rips or broken zippers yet after 8-10 trips so that's a plus. It does fit a pretty good amount of stuff, the little bags on the sides help a lot with the extras (chargers and etc).

Let me just start off by saying that this is my first time purchasing a bag, ever. I do not profess myself to have any sort of authority on messenger bags, briefcases, etc. However, that is all about the change with this bag:I knew I had to have a bag of decent quality, as I did not care for the cheaper quality offerings from other brands, so after doing some research, I eventually came to the conclusion that the ClaireChase Sorrento Laptop bag was the one to get. Besides, I was getting it for almost 80% off, which is an additional ~30% off the eBags site. "Wow", I thought to myself, what a steal. I think Amazon only sells the "distressed brown" at this price, though.
The bag is of very, very good quality. The leather is top-notch; obviously the bag can get away with a price tag 2x-3x this much. I don't know much about ClaireChase, but I will definitely look at them again in the future.
Another reviewer was cautious about the magnetic straps. I found them to be very strong, and there is a slight groove for them to rest in to prevent slipping. You wouldn't want to stuff this bag to the limit, if for no other reason than weight, which brings me to my next point:
The shoulder strap seems a tiny bit too small in width for this bag. Maybe it is the style. It looks good, but I think I will want to invest in a shoulder pad. It does not come with one, and you will almost certainly find your shoulders getting sore within minutes.
Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase as I will be using it for school and coffee shops. It is a good medium-sized bag, but I take 1 star off for the shoulder strap thing.

After 24 days of using the bag, the stitching and glue at the back of the bag slowly started to come apart. Less than 5 days later, the entire seam at the top of the rear side of the bag completely came apart. Stitching in other areas was also starting to show wear, and it was a matter of days before those areas gave in as well. I used it daily to carry a MacBook Air, accessories, and paperwork. I'm not sure if it was just this bag that was defected or if the overall quality of the manufacturer is bad. I really do like the bags look, comfort, and feel. I am going to give them one more shot, I will be ordering a replacement today, and hope I am not let down again. The good news is, the return process with Ebags, was extremely easy. Tenba Mixx Top Load Large
I already owned the Tenba Mixx small top load bag, and was pleased with the quality and value. So I was prepared for the same level of quality, as the Mixx large top load is basically the same product, but just slightly bigger. Being taller, this bag might be best suited for a SLR with a telephoto lensA triangular shaped holster just screams "I'm carrying a DSLR!", so the more generic rectangular shape of the MIXX Top Load is a positive, although it still looks like a camera bag. Tenba's build quality and workmanship is very good, pretty much on par with Lowepro and Tamrac.
The bag has a sturdy nylon belt loop located near the top of the case, where it provides good stability. There is a layer of nylon mesh on the back side which is against the body, to help with heat dissipation. In the front there is a large zippered compartment, which contains an internal zippered compartment, and two small pockets suitable for memory cards, batteries, or other small items. The included rain cover can be stored here, or inside the bag.
On each of the bag's side panels, there is a small pocket made of neoprene. Although Tenba claims that you can securely store items like a cell phone here, I would not place anything valuable in these pockets, as they can easily slide out. The adjustable shoulder strap has easily operable metal clips, and metal swivel fittings. The attachment fittings on the bag are plastic rather than metal, but at least they are thick walled, and not likely to break easily. There is also a carrying handle on the top of the bag.
The case has a decent amount of padding surrounding the main compartment. The approximate interior dimensions are 10.5" high, 7" at its widest point, and 5.5" across. The bag can comfortably accommodate a DSLR with a mid-sized lens up to about 8" with a 77mm filter. Unfortunately, the opening at the top is probably not wide enough to accommodate most DSLR's with a battery grip attached. There has been a recent improvement to the design, as there are now adjustable dividers in the interior, which can be used to help support and stabilize your camera body.
If you are not using a telephoto lens, there is some space for additional gear. You will just need to experiment, and see what works best for you. Besides another small lens, there could be enough room for a stiff sling type strap, like those by Black Rapid. Finding a bag with enough space to accommodate a sling strap can be tricky, as these bulky straps take up a lot of space.
There is a zippered pocket made of opaque plastic with a mesh overlay, on the bottom of the lid. There is a cloth tab over the zipper tab to prevent it from scraping your camera. If you store the rain cover at the bottom of the main compartment, it provides a little more padding in a crucial area, and frees space in the front pocket.
If you need to carry several lenses and a flash, this bag may not meet your needs. However if you can get by with a couple of midsized lenses, it might be big enough. The various methods for carrying, and good build quality are a plus, and for those who care, the bag comes in various color schemes.
I have three Tenba bags, all purchased really cheap, through Amazon's Warehouse Deals. I assume they were returned by buyers who didn't like them. I'm not sure why, as Tenba's bags are a pretty good value even at full price.

I have been looking for a nice, compact bag for my Nikon D3000, and I think this bag does the trick. The adjustable and removable shoulder strap is super comfy and doesn't slide around on my shoulder and the bag feels very quality. I also love that it comes with the weather proof cover-that was an added surprise. I like the Velcro on the inside that can be positioned like a shelf. I can comfortably fit my telephoto lens and my camera body with its kit lens attached.The only reason there are 4 stars instead of 5 is that I do think this bag looks like a lunch box. I also wish that there was another pocket on the outside or the pocket that was on the outside was a little bit larger-I like to be able to fit my cell phone and wallet in my bag-which I can squeeze in there if I take out the weather proof cover it came with.
Overall, great little bag that is very comfy to carry around and I would really recommend it, especially to those who don't typically carry much on them.

Although this sleeve is advertised as able to carry an alienware m17x, it can't. My m17x R3 does not fit at all, and my friend's new 17" Dell XPS won't fit either. If your laptop is a thin widescreen laptop, it should be fine (i.e. a macbook), but if you've got something thick then I'd suggest another sleeve.In terms of quality, the sleeve looks really nice. There isn't anything jutting out, and the zipper is high quality and difficult to wear down. The cloth is very smooth and doesn't have any loose threads, so no lint gets into the laptop. It's also water resistant, so a coffee spill won't damage anything. The cloth is difficult to tear apart, as I've tested with some scissors and a few quick runs with a knife.
I give it 3/5 stars, primarily because it doesn't fit some advertised laptops. Anything smaller will fit perfectly, however. My old 15.4" HP laptop fits like a glove. It's a great price, but if it's too small then it's obviously not worth it.

The woodland camouflage Alice pack i purchased is in mint condition. The waist straps are desert color with the older style buckle which i will replace later with OD green or something. But over all i didn't buy it for its waist straps :) not a big deal. Over all better than i expected.It arrived on time as promised and i would shop with this seller again.

Conclusion:
Very affordable, but will likely come with hassles. I was able to have a frame sent but when received found it in very rough condition, rivets had been replaced with screws and covered in chipping white paint. If you really need an Alice bag on a budget, go for it, but be ready to do some dancing.

Don't expect this to arrive matched up like one of the frame/pack orders you can purchase brand new. Straps, kidney pads, frame, where all different shades of O.D. even the upper and lower straps didn't match each other. Only the Med ALICE pack was woodland camo. All items showed field use but there where no name stencils on any of the parts. All the parts appeared to be GI but they may not have been issued as one unit. After reading product description, and other reviews, I thought I would take a chance on this "used" pack. After I received, I realized it was used, and abused. My intentions were to have it as a spare "bob" bag. Instead I threw it straight in the trash, where it belonged.
Kelty Wing Backpack
The good: The pack looks great and the stitching quality seems quite strong. Lots of pockets make it easy to organize. I got rained one one evening, and the contents stayed nice and dry.The bad: Not deal-breakers, but things I wish I had known (or thought about) before I purchased. Most are related to my personal use case, so may not apply to you.
The shoulder straps meet fairly close together at the top of the pack. This is how vintage packs were made, so it helps with that 70s-80s look... but theres a reason modern packs have the straps spaced fairly widely.
The nylon seems strong but lightweight, so the bag does not have a lot of structure. Without the semi-rigid panel in the back, it would collapse into a puddle of nylon when empty. The bottom of the bag sags under heavy loads, and it tips over when set on the ground. (My previous bag was a Timbuk2 laptop pack which was structured to the point where it held its shape when empty, and stood up on its own when loaded.)
The laptop sleeve is quite deep and has a very long retaining strap (which I can't imagine why anyone would need, unless you plan on carrying the pack upside down). This strap has vey sticky velcro on it which adheres to the adjustable panels inside, so you end up having to wrestle with the bag to get your laptop out. It can be comically frustrating at times.
You should buy this pack for its great style, but be aware of its limitations. It is not a modern pack, so it doesn't have a lot of the ergonomic qualities people expect today. It would only be well suited to people who do not need to carry very heavy loads. If you're looking for a college book bag and need to carry lots of heavy textbooks, you might want something with a bit more structure. If money was no object, I'd get a Goruck GR-2. In the same price range as the Kelty Wing I might look at a tactical style pack like the 5.11 Rush 24.

It is as nice looking as in the picture (I got the black version) and the quality seems good, especially for the price (I got mine at 34.99$), time will tell how it will endure daily use.A couple of notes that might be useful for other buyers:
* the closure is by clips, the two buckles are "functional", in that they can open and close, but they have no real function besides aesthetics.
* the internal is divided only in the laptop part (which would be able to accommodate a laptop much thicker than my 15" MacBook pro) and the "main" compartment, which has only three small open pouches. No specific compartment is provided for power bricks, iPad, or pens (amazingly, the latter is what annoys me the most).
* there is none or very very little padding, therefore the laptop would better be in its own sleeve (as I said, there is space to spare anyway); on the flip side, the lack of padding or rigidity makes the bag considerably more spacious than other options of a similar external size (such as the Belkin messanger bag).
All in all, for the moment I am satisfied, will update if any problem will emerge.
Also, those aren't real fastening straps as pictured on the flap. They are held in place by little magnets and will not stay closed while in use! If you hold the bag by the handle on top the magnets WILL RELEASE and the flap will come up.
There's better bags out there folks.

Tumi Vapor Extended Trip Packing Case
The first time I used this luggage it looked like it had been through a cage full of gorillas. It dents and scars badly, I have used it 3 times and it appears to be 15 years old. Would NOT recommend this product.

If the TSA happens to open this lock they can can cause the combination to change. Which of course means when you reach your destination you can not get into your bag. Unless you have the lock cut off (serious damage to a $650 bag). My all time favorite piece of luggage! It's easy to stuff and still close. I bought this Tumi and traveled to Chicago and then onto London and Paris. It made the trip even more enjoyable. Since getting the Tumi Vapor we have been over seas to Europe, Chicago and Maui.These bags look fantastic and are very easy to wheel. The bag can easily tipped onto two wheels but the four wheel spinner is absolutely the way to roll in class. I found most marks wipe off the bags to keep them looking new. The weight? What weight? These things are so light my wife can actually load it up and still be under 50 lbs! Amazing! In the end I have bought 7 pieces of Tumi Vapor from the international carry on up to the extended trip. One other nice feature is you can easily push two bags with one hand if place handles of each bag together.
I have received compliments about the luggage on numerous including my father-in-law who will be getting a set for his upcoming Birthday! You know it's good stuff when you'd give Tumi to your wealthy father-in-law.

I ordered this cover for my Sony Vaio E Series. The laptop measures approximately 35X24 cm. This sleeve measures 34.5X26.5cm. Although the description states 15/16 inch, the packaging clearly states 14"/#353. I can get the laptop in the bag but it is short. The flap will close but it's a struggle and doesn't lay flat when closed. I know if it's this much trouble to close, I won't use it for long. According to the Duragadget website, this sleeve is available in many sizes. They list this size as 14" (36.25X27.5 cm.) As stated before, I found the actual product smaller at 34.5 X 26.5. I plan to order the 16" (38.75 X 28.5 cm)/#355. It looks like it will fit the best given the product dimensions plus a little room for error. I would order it directly from Duragadget but they are located in the UK and I don't want to wait that long. I'm addicted to Prime shipping now.
