The Tumi Alpha T-Pass Medium Laptop Brief met or exceeded all of my admittedly high standards. In looking at the bag, I am shocked how much I am able to fit comfortably within the bag. My daily contents are: 15" MacBook Pro, Kindle, iPad/iPhone, external hard drive, Bose QC15's with carrying case, newspaper, magazine, Netflix DVDs, pack of gum, passport, and all applicable chargers.
I travel between 20-30 round trip flights per year. This bag is specifically engineered for a business commuter. In addition to holding up to every stress test imaginable, this Tumi is comfortable to carry, easy to mount to your suitcase, fits underneath an economy class seat and it's very classy looking.
Perhaps the best feature is the T-Pass. Put your laptop in the padded laptop pocket when you pack, when you head through security simply unzip one zipper and put your bag through the x-ray machine. No hassle when flying domestically. On international legs, I've been asked to remove my laptop about 75% of the time.
A perfect 5 out of 5 stars: I'm not sure if Tumi is even able to improve this incredible product. Have recommended it to many of my colleagues, several of whom have said when their existing bags run their course they will upgrade to Tumi.I have had this bag for about a year and it is the best laptop bag I ever had, including a couple of older Tumi's. I decided to go for a T-Pass bag after witnessing a colleague accidentally drop his laptop, while taking it out of his bag at the airport security. Now I just unzip one zipper and just place it through the TSA scanners.
Aside from T-Pass, I also like the narrow front pocket, which I think was originally designed to hold a folding umbrella. I use it to hold a small bottle of water (which the airport concessionaires sell for a ridiculous $3).
My last Tumi laptop bag was the wheeled medium-size 26102. So the only thing I miss from the older Tumi bag was the convenience of the wheels. If Tumi could somehow create a T-Pass laptop case with wheels, that would be the ultimate computer bag for me.
Update November 2012: I have travelling weekly to a client in Canada for the past 4 months and was quite disappointed that the Canadian equivalent of the TSA do not recognize the T-Pass feature. I have to remove my laptop out of the Tumi bag everytime I pass through Canadian airport security. One would have thought that North American airport security protocols should be consistent. Anyway, if you are doing a lot of domestic USA travel, the T-Pass is a great feature. If you do a lot of international travel, there is no advantage in owning a T-Pass bag; better to get the wheeled non-T-Pass Tumi bag.

I have had a number of Tumi bags, and don't like this one at all.The T-pass 'feature' consumes/wastes a ridiculous amount of storage spage, and this medium-sized bag needs that space.
The little pockets in the front take away a lot of storage space by being little and chopping up the area in the front of the bag. That wouldn't be so bad if the only other larger space could be closed. Alas, the space that they describe as great for newspapers is actually a larger, deeper space that could be used for other items if it weren't a gaping, open space.
Also, the shoulder strap is narrow and uncomfortable. I replaced mine with one off one of my old Tumi bags. Also, the clips where the shoulder strap attached is now plastic, which I guess they get away with now that no longer offer lifetime warranties. With the heavy use my bags see, I'm not expecting the clips to hold up.
All in all, disappointing for a Tumi product.
August 2012 update: it's interesting to watch the ''not helpful' scores accumulate at a far higher rate than any of my other reviews. My guess is that Tumi has people working to negate less than favorable reviews.

I've gone through 5 mobile offices in the past year...either the compartments were lacking, one big black hole, no external compartments, etc... This one is great and like my past 2, are TSA approved. I just wished it was on wheels! Week after rec'ing this, I ordered Travel Smart by Conair Heavy Duty Luggage Cart and it works great. I only use the cart w/ the bag in airports (weekly) but on client sites, I carry the bag alone as it's not long of a haul fron the rental car to the client site entry. Bag looks great, durable and like all my experiences w/ Tumi...wonderful!Want Tumi Alpha T-Pass Medium Capacity Laptop Brief 26145 Discount?
After 3 month I can day that I am really satisfied with compartments and possibilities for packning this bag. I will comeback to this brand and this bag will travel with me for a long timeEverest Junior Backpack
It's a super cute pack and I thought it would be the perfect size for my 5 year old. However, it's a little too small it won't even fit a standard folder inside without bending it. And I was disappointed in how cheap the fabric feels. It suspect it won't last longer than half a school year. But hey, it was under ten bucks. It is a Perfect size for my needs..Just big enough for the iPad too with an extra pocket in front. Love it.I purchased it for my grand daughter who will be entering first grade in August. It seems and looks sturdy and the right size happy with the purchaseEagle Creek Travel Gear Id Zipper Pull Set (Lime)
For whatever reason, my TravelPro suitcase zipper pulls always break. They appear to get metal fatigue and break apart. Sadly TravelPro doesn't cover this under warranty so what to do? I tried these and they worked great! They do three things that are super useful: 1) they are super easy to attach, 2) they don't come loose from the zipper (other ones I have tried do pull loose), and 3) a bonus I didn't expect -they are colored so I can easily identify my suitcase!
I highly recommend these if you need a zipper pull!Eagle creek is a good company--their stuff lasts.
Great pull set if you don't mind the somewhat neon blue color. Goes well with black.

I just returned from a 6-flight trip, and I found these too small to really help identify my bags from a large group in a claim return. 50% larger would help.High Sierra Classic Series 59401 Sentinel 65 Internal Frame Pack
I gave this pack its first run last weekend: a short weekender about 7 miles into the deep woods and foothills of South Carolina.I found the pack to be excellent, especially considering the low price point. It is sufficiently roomy for a 3-season 2/3 day trip and has an excellent strapping system both for fit and compression.
The pack is fitted for larger framed persons; I'm 5' 7", 170 pounds, and found myself cinching up the straps almost to their absolute minimum, but they still functioned perfectly fine.
I also experienced the "Squeaking" problem, and to me it seemed to happen only when the load shifted its weight onto the point where the straps connect to the pack, and occured especially during lateral movement. This is hard to overcome during steep uphills, but keeping the load properly positioned on your hips will elimnate the squeak most of the time.
The attached rain-fly fits the pack very well even when heavily loaded and with an attached bedroll, and keeps it dry even in a heavy rain. The built in hydration ports are especially useful, as I was able to use my Camelback resivoir with the pack.
The long and the short of it is that if you are looking to make a smart buy, this is a quality pack that is smartly built that will not leave you with regrets.Hi All, Thanks for posting your reviews on the High Sierra 65 bag, it is the main reason I purchased it. I just received mine this morning and had it on a trail less than an hour later.
Tested 2 hours with a ~25lb load on a ~7 mile trail with approx. 1500 ft elevation total.
Squeeks yes, not bad, not enough to be annoying.
Hip belt large yes, I have a 34-36 waist, after cinching it down comfortable only 3-6 inches of total tightening left until it will be as tight as it can go.
Shoulder strap slippage (reason for 4 vs. 5) yes on both straps, especially when running. This was probably the most annoying thing about this pack, going to look into making elastic velcro wraps to secure down the shoulder straps more.
Top main compartment: Fits a 3 season 2 person marmot titan tent, tent poles, tent cover, tent stakes, and an additional sleeping mat. Takes up roughly 1/3 of the main compartments available space.
H20 Compartment runs the full internal depth of the bag, appears to be able to hold more than one bladder with duel hyrdration tubes ports (left and right side) and huge bladder compartment. Keep in mind a full H20 compartment will reduce the available space in the top main compartment and the bottom sleeping bag compartment.
Side mesh pockets Plenty large enough for a 1 Liter Nalgene on each side.
Bottom Sleeping bag compartment fits my 40 degree bag, sleeping mat, and thermarest pillow with room to spare.
Back zipper pocket Fits 2 oranges side by side, 2 bags of jerky, and a 750ML Nalgene on top with room. Note that the zipper bag compartment space is tied in with the copression straps so pack zipper bag prior to compressing main bag.
Adjustable Ergo Fit harness awesome
Hip/Shoulder strap padding Very comfortable.
It was around low 60's on the trail with a cool wind so I didn't notice if the pack made me any warmer or not.
The only thing missing on the High Sierra 65 is hip belt pockets.

Great value for a large framed guy like me... Anyone with a 32" waist or under need not apply; The pack will not cinch down tight enough to be usable on a you. This pack holds all I need to carry with me for a two-three day backpacking trip, with nothing outside of the pack. It rides well and is very comfortable if a bit heavy. Do cut off and then hem the large amount of excess straping. The sleeping bag compartment is a tight fit for my 15 degree bag and air pad. It also squeeks a bit if your load shifts while walking but this can be fixed by tightening down the generous number of compression straps. Overall a awesome value, and the best fit for my big frame.Read Best Reviews of High Sierra Classic Series 59401 Sentinel 65 Internal Frame Pack Here
I was in need of a general purpose backpack. Not too large, not too small, and one that I would only use a few times a year. I read the reviews on various backpacks sold at Amazon.com, REI, and other sporting goods retailers. Since I wasn't going to use it that much, I couldn't bring myself to spend $100-$300. The feedback on this pack was that it was a solid pack for the money.Took it camping this past weekend and I have to say that I don't think that you can find a better pack for the money ($88 through Amazon.com). Some of my fellow campers could not believe how nice of a bag it was, and were even more surprised when I told them what I paid for it. The pack is very well built. At 65 liters, it is big enough for a few days worth of backpacking. It is a top-loading drawstring design, with two smaller external compartments. The shoulder straps fit very nice and it was comfortable to use, even fully loaded. There are straps on the top, sides, and bottom to compress the pack once it is loaded.
I would definitely not recommend this for anyone with a 36" or smaller waist due to the size of the waist straps. I have a 38" waist and had the waist straps cinched up almost all the way. It is not the lightest backpack, but since I'm not climbing K-2 anytime soon, it works fine for my needs.
I would have liked the Chipotle color, but not enough to spend an extra $20-$30.

I first used this backpack for a 3-day trip in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. I was able to fit my compact 25-deg sleeping bag, 6x8 tarp and some camp accessories into the sleeping bag compartment. The upper compartment was able to hold my clothing, small stove, solo bear canister, D-SLR camera, and toiletries -plus a hydration bladder in the built-in hydration pocket. My 2-man tent and air pad fit perfectly on the bottom of the pack. I had a water bottle and camera tripod in the external mesh pockets. At almost 5 lbs. this pack isn't for the super-light trekking crowd, but the well-padded waistband did a good job of transferring the pack's weight to my hips so it was easy for me to carry 50+ lbs for three days without any difficulties.
I am 6'3" and weigh 220 lbs. and the well-padded waist straps fit me well and the Ergo-fit shoulder harness adjusted so the pack fit me well. The Sentinel 65 also fit a 5'9" person's frame very comfortably. The air channel design of the backpack's padding helped keep my back dry and cool better than some packs I've used.
The one thing I didn't know before I bought the pack was how the upper compartment lid is held on by four adjustable straps. This allows more room to fit gear, but if the back isn't very full, the top flap can be hard to keep secured. The pack also seems like it has more straps than I'd ever use. But, better too many straps than too few in my estimation.
Overall an excellent pack at a good price, plus High Sierra's lifetime warranty make this backpack a very good value.
Rothco Vintage Canvas Backpack (Olive)
I bought this bag for school and so far it's serving me well. I ordered the tan color and it was slighter darker in color when it arrived, but I actually like it better than what it looked like online. Just enough pockets, good zippers, good fabric. It's not huge, but I wouldn't say it's mini either, just the right size for me and my books. If you want a simple but sturdy bag for everyday use I would highly recommend this. So, after the failure that was the Military Vintage Backback (same exact look just significantly larger), I decided to be an idiot and try this one. I did not regret it! To be exact, the dimensions of the bag are as follow:15.7 x 13.5 x 7 (I have a 15.6 laptop, and it fits in here, snug, but I wouldn't recommend using this for something that large, my suggestion is 14.3'' and lower)
I was surprised when I saw the backpack that it really was the exact same design as the other bag.. just.. well.. smaller. To describe it's size, I wouldn't call this a regular backpack nor a mini, it's more or less in between the two, much like the size of a typical Jansport backpack.
I purchased Olive Drab, though looking at it now, I really wish I ordered the black one instead, but I'm not disappointed. The color is very vintage, like a dull forest green.
Now to the bag itself! I carry a small, 13.3'' laptop in here, along with my teen study bible, 3 thin notebooks and 2 folders (along w/ wallet and 3DS). It all fits nicely in there, no sag, no awkward fitting and it's not too comfortable, but it isn't enough for me to actually complain about. The strap problem I had before DOES NOT exist, as this one seems to be REALLY secure, as sometimes I have a hard time trying to adjust -edited out, see edit below-. I've already recieved compliments on it. There's more than enough pockets... All there is left is to test wear but that comes with time so I will update. For now, it's a great buy :]
//EDIT::.
So, I think it's been about a month so far, and I decided to knock down a star :[ I still love the bag, but I now have a couple of issues. One issue is the straps. It's become frustrating to adjust. Sometimes I want a quick loosen, and that becomes me stopping, kneeling, pulling and tugging... it's a hassle for a simple task. My other issue is the material. Strings from the loose material on the inside of the backpack are now getting caught in the zipper. It's easy to pull and break it off, and it doesn't weaken the bag, but a hassle it is.
It's still a great bag though at a reasonable price. I still highly recommend it ^^

The dimensions are 15" x 13.5" x 7". This is not a mini backpack, it is closer to a traditional sized school backpack but it's still small enough to lug around as a daypack/purse.It looks good and it feels soft. It's prewashed. The bag I got is a bit darker green than it shows on the Amazon photo. I like the lighter green in the photo better but the real thing does scream vintage military just like the title says.
The canvas is sturdy. The zippers seem fine so far. The straps are woven on a needle loom so they would fray if they get worn down. I think it's probably fine for regular use.I needed a backpack for traveling. I wanted it to look different but not stand out too much because I was going to be in the city and traveling all over on public transportation. I also wanted to have it be stylish and could sorda double as a purse. The price was great and I was worried it would be cheap but when I got it I was pleased that it was exactly what I was looking for. It was a small to medium size bag. Perfect for carry on and it made it through the trip. I had to wash it when I returned and it went through the wash well. It is by far the most favorite backpack I have ever owned.

Kalencom Bellisima Sponge Nylon Continental Flair Bag
I absolutely love this bag. Very well-made, and the perfect size to carry everything I need for my newborn, my three year old and myself without being too big. This bag has three inside pockets for bottles, an inside zippered compartment, a velcro-closure compartment on the back, and a zippered compartment on the front (where I keep all the "mommy stuff": wallet, phone, daily planner, things like that.) It also has two side pockets, and comes with a changing pad, insulated bottle holder, stroller straps, and a wet bag that I use to stash a couple of diapers and travel wipes to grab for quick trips into the grocery store. (I just added a wristlet strap to the zipper to make it easy to carry.) Bonus: I have never once been out and about with this diaper bag without getting at least one compliment on how cute it is!I love this bag! Cute, durable, functional, I couldn't be happier! Gregory Z30 Technical Pack
This backpack was on my list of possible purchase when I saw the 1-star review. I was alarmed until I read the details. The reviewer basically rated it so low because of the 'bucket pocket' whose function he did not fully understand. My son lend me his Gregory Z22 and I liked its quality and functionality. However, it was a bit small for my intended use. I was looking for something well-made with a capacity of 28-35 liters, a hydration compartment, mesh back, light weight, interior frame, built-in rain flyers. The Z30 Medium (I have a 19-inch torso the pack also comes in "Large" for longer torsos) meets all my requirements. However, just to be sure I went to REI and tried out all the other brands that were carried there, including Osprey and Deuter. I liked them all but ended up buying the Gregory. (To be fair, I probably would have been happy with one of the others too.)
The Z30 has very nice hip belt and shoulder pads, each with various ways for fine adjustments to fit your body shape. Make sure you have your torso measured for correct sizing. I sweat easily so the mesh back, which keeps the pack away from your back, is critical for me. (I have had other packs with other systems of ventilation but they did not work for me.) The provided rain fly is a nice feature since it will inevitably rain if you are out in the elements. I could have bought an after market rain fly but then it would cost $15-30 more, is not custom fitted, and does not have its own zippered storage pocket! The mesh pockets on the hip belt are handy they are small but large enough to hold my (international) GMS phone and charger.
I have tested my pack on several day hikes and appreciate the large opening at the top, the many zippered pockets to organize smaller items. I particularly like the bucket pocket it was large enough for my light rain jacket and a couple of fruit. I am a minimalist and tend not to carry much. However, the extra volume (my standard) is nice in case I decide to pack more bulky items some day(my son's advice!) With smaller load, the compression straps perform their jobs well in keeping things from moving around. Oh yes, others may not like the gray color but I think it's good since brighter and lighter colors will show dirt more easily.
From what I have seen of this pack (the stitches, zippers, materials...) I think it will last me a long time. I definitely would recommend this pack to anyone who are looking for a bag in this size range.
BTW, this is my firs review of anything online. Also, I'm not in any way associated with Gregory, REI or Amazon.com! The 1-star review was so unfair that prompted me to write.I too was surprised by the 1 star review. I looked at the reviews on other sites such as REI and it was reviewed at 4.5 out of 5. I will use this pack for hiking in Patagonia in the Fall. I like the gray colour, the included rain cover is a big plus as they cost around $20's to $30's. There is enough room and compartments for my stuff and the I like the transfer suspension which keeps your back cool. Also, there are compartments on the hip belt for your phone, small camera etc, as well as dual ports for a hydration resevoir.
I just back from a trip to Patagonia (October 2012) where I used this pack for the W trek, which was 3 1/2 days, and over 30 miles where I carried about 6.5 kg in my pack. My pack was useful and comfortable.

I have found that backpacks fall into a particular category of preference. This meaning that one person may love it while another simply despises it. These biases happen because of why a person wants the bag and the manner in which they use the equipment.I had a decades old Jandd mountaineering day pack that is just a hair too small for a serious one night outing and had no hydration options. I have been procrastinating in replacing it because it is in excellent shape, light and bombproof. But my last snow shoe hike convinced me I could not hold out any longer. If I had to guess, I would think the Jandd pack is roughly 1000-1200 cubic inches (maybe a tad bigger). This gives me enough room to pack a full set of dry clothes/thermals (compressed), food for an unexpected night's stay, first aid pouch, a selection of small survival tools/items, and my most compressible sleeping bag (all within Jandd's single compartment pack with a small top bag that acts as the cover to the main compartment's draw string opening) . I had to lash my hydration pack to the side of the day pack and went tent/bivy-less.
The Gregory pack is sized to be stuck between day pack and overnighter (or two day?). This fits my use of this bag perfectly. In the summer-time when doing easy/local/laid-back day hikes, I can take my Camelback Rogue which had just enough room for lunch, first aid, an outdoor multi-tool, and water (of course). If the summer day hike takes me beyond an easy walk back into civilization, then the Jandd seems to still work pretty good as the draw string, main compartment enclosure, accepts the Camelback bladder, and all the items I need for a summer's night out. Once you add the inclement weather of the NW (winter and some fall and spring), you need just a little bit more in terms of pack size and features as it is wise to be a bit more prepared.
The Z-30 medium is a great combination of pockets and compartments. This pack offers one main compartment with two smaller found on the top and front. The main compartment has a smaller webbed zippered pocket as well as the sleeve for the water bladder. The rain-fly has its own compartment found below the small compartment in the front and has a drain port for wet storage (a fantastic feature for the NW). I appreciate the single large compartment design as it cuts down on weight and gives me better packing options when I have unusually sized loads. The top/back of the main compartment also features two single straps with clips at the end and a sewn loop in between them. The loop is located nicely over the bladder enclosure and offers a perfect attachment for my 70oz Camelback bladder and the two clipped straps work nicely as grab locators for clothing/accessories (that are hanging the length of the pack), and organizational pouches. The clips make it possible to keep certain items obtainable without having to dig to the bottom of the main compartment. The gusseted bucket pocket is a great feature to stuff wet (as it has a drain port too!) items or shed layers quickly without having to reinvent your packing strategy. This pocket also opens wide enough to accept foot wear and more. The gussets do not continue to the bottom of the pocket leaving enough room (an inch perhaps) to allow long items with a handle or shaft to continue through the pocket for better storage placement. For example the handle of a small shovel could slide through this opening allowing for better storage/carry placement. The pack also has two very well designed lashing mechanisms that are designed to hold anything from hiking poles, tripods, and ice axes. With the bucket pocket and the two lashing features, I may have every item secured for a short climb, during the hike, where all of my extremities are required. The two webbed pockets found at the base of the pack are pleated and the elastic is quite thick and seems durable. Longer items stuck in either of these pockets can be further secured to the pack with the compression straps that are designed for the compression of the main load. Long items can be secured with both compression straps found on the side of the pack where shorter items, just breaching the pocket's brim, can be secured with just the lower compression strap. If you want the contents of these pockets to be an easy grab during the hike, the compression straps can easily miss a thermos or water bottle. This pack is full of options like the few I have mentioned. Gregory has done an excellent job incorporating storage options for the many different scenarios I will put it through. The only criticism on the storage features is aimed at the pockets found on the waist strap. They are too small for a number of things I've wanted to put in there. This is not by any means a deal-breaker nor did it drop the star-rating of this product.
The material is a great combination of durability and lightweight. The suspension and waist strap are high quality and have the same thoughtful engineering as the storage features. The lumbar pad at the base of the pack is a prominent feature should not be overlooked. If your back likes lumbar support while sitting, it may very well like this pack as much you do. I would not hesitate to also use this back for weekend traveling where hiking may be found. The bag should be of the size to qualify for carry-on during air travel.
I've noticed a couple of negative reviews online and can't help but think they are somewhat misplaced. What these negative reviews should be focusing on really should be how the design did not fit their purposes. If you bought a pick-up truck but you were a parent of 12 children, don't rant and carry on about how the manufacturer's design did not allot for all your little passengers. This is not a proper reflection on the design, production quality, or usefulness of that truck. That pick-up may very well be a terrific product, you just needed to buy a 14-passenger van. But, as it pertains to back packs, this means you will not only have to be in tune with what you really want out of a back pack, but you also have to do a bit searching and investigating in order to be in the correct style of pack and that takes some time.I live in Colorado and do a lot of hiking and climbing and bought this pack for day hiking, generally up fourteeners. I found this pack to be extremely comfortable and light but it is very small. Basically the essentials for a 13-mile fourteener climb comfortably filled the pack. While the zippered main compartment is very convenient, the fact that it is zippered means that it is not as "stuffable" as a pack with a draw string enclosure. This is made up for somewhat by the large, gusseted pocket on the front of the pack that I was able to stuff both my rain jacket and hoody into for easy access throughout the day. The smaller pocket on the top of the pack is a good size for things like cameras, snacks and the like. The pack's suspension system, like most Gregorys, is close to the industry best and very comfortable. The waist belt carries the load very well and that, combined with the fact that the pack is small and light, means that there is little to no shoulder strain and all the straps are very well padded. The rain cover is very nice and easy to put on. Overall this is fantastic pack for a limited use, that is light weight day hiking. If your looking for a day pack that you can stuff a little more into or possibly use for a short backpacking trip, you might want to look elsewhere. This pack was used for a 20 mile day hike trip it held 8 quarts of water and other various items easily. The pack is comfortable and light weight. We havent yet took on an over-night hike yet but will in the spring.
Alley Messenger Bag
I specifically wanted a vertical laptop bag with fewer pockets and lightweight carry. This bag fits the need perfectly and has a fine shoulder pad. Overall design is simple and utilitarian. The sections & pockets are fewer but very large and can carry almost anything. A negative is that after 3 months of daily use, the inside laptop section divider fabric stitching has started to break and separate through normal use. This also reveals the thin polyfoam construction of the internal divider. At best, this is okay and a compromise for weight and cost, but given all the other design & assembly compromises, I wonder if this will last a year or 2 without becoming an annoyance? I've had this bag for 4 months now. It is a nice looking bag, and also has a nice light and small design. It fits my notebook, power chords, and notebook-mouse just fine without looking stuffed or too thick. In fact, I really liked this bag until one day...It was a rainy day. I packed my notebook as usual, stepped outside assuming all would be protected and safe. However, if you look carefully, the flap that swings over the top is not made to wrap around the edges. There is an angled gap of roughly half an inch on both sides of the flap, that provides direct access to the notebook.
Luckily for me, it was a short walk to the car in very heavy rain. when I opened my notebook bag, I discovered water on the edges of my notebook. And now, I have to always remember to stuff paper towels on the edges just in case it rains.I use this messenger bag for my Macbook Pro 15'' and it's amazing, the space for the laptop is just great and the good thing is that it has also an special space for the charger and papers.

Has a great padded area for your 15" MacBookPro. There is a rubber covered handle for times you don't want to go to the trouble of using the padded strap. The shoulder strap can come off if you like and besides padding there is a cel pocket on it. Mostly you notice how the bag is planned out nicely for your computer and a few items like the cords, mouse etc. This is not your "tote everything and the kitchen sink" bag but then it wasn't made for that. It looks very sleek. People remark on the design and how great the bag looks. Also there is a version for 13" laptops.Want Alley Messenger Bag Discount?
Buy this for my mbp 13 ", I should buy the smallest model but the idea was to share with my wife a few times (she has a 15.6" laptop). The bag looks great and protects the laptop very well and not be as fancy as the Speck PortPack becomes safer in urban environments in my opinion.would be good maybe one or two pockets for small items.
Kiken 18-Inch Jedi Mind Trix Custom Build Laptop Shoulder Bag (SL-SB-104-03)
First off, I bought my Slappa Kiken Jedi Mind Trix Laptop Bag off the Slappa website, which has two thumbs up from me. I wanted a durable quality bag, lots of pockets and padding, with good looks to it. Initially I thought this bag was way too expensive, but after seeing that Slappa is consistently rated at the top, I made the investment. I have the laptop bag in front of me as I write this review.Basically, you get what you pay for. This bag is top of the line good. The material is dense, high quality, and well manufactured. The adjustable shoulder strap is heavy duty (reminds me of a black seatbelt) with nice thick solid metal spring clasps and D-rings. The cover of the Jedi Mind Trix has two velcro straps that allow you to strap in any large accessories, i.e. gaming keyboard or whatever. This cover also zips off completely in exchange for other Slappa Kiken covers, giving a neat customization option. Underneath it is velcro which holds the cover down, 3 front zippered pockets with good size, and zippered access to the front compartment. I kinda wanted buckles instead of velcro here, but since everything is zippered in, I don't really want to unbuckle AND unzipper, plus the velcro is that heavy duty stuff and is less clunky. The two big compartments in this bag can be locked with one of those little pad locks.
The front compartment is roomy, big enough to fit several textbooks and accessories. Its got a standard pocket, 4 slots for pens/pencils, and another pocket with a velcro cover. Also there's a full size zipper compartment for more storage.
On the backside is the second big compartment, again with zipper (lock capable) access. This is the side that has the laptop pocket, using a velcro flip up to hold it in. Again velcro doesn't bother me here, since it's zippered as well. My old 17 inch laptop fits nicely and also works for my 15 inch. The padding here is the stiff good stuff that doesn't deform when things push against it. Also there is another full size zipper pocket opposite of the laptop pocket with plenty of space to fit in more stuff.
On either side of the bag underneath where the shoulder strap clips on, are two zippered mini compartments, which feature a mesh pocket and normal pocket inside. I may have wanted a water bottle pocket on one side at least, but that's not a big deal. The two main compartments have a cool feature where they can be unzipped and lain flat or you can velcro in the sides to give it more of a pocket feel.
Bottom line: Everything about this bag is beyond satisfactory. The price may be high, but you receive a first class product that has tons of pockets and lots of room for your stuff. You will not find higher zipper, D-ring, and clasp quality on any other laptop bag to ensure protection and security. I will continue to be a Slappa customer. And yes, I'm a Star Wars fan.The Slappa Kiken Jedi Mind Trix bag is awesome! I've had it for about 2 months now, so I've had time to put it to use. (purchased it directly from Slappa). I needed a good bag to hold my new alienware 18x. There weren't many options to pick from for a laptop this size. I read some reviews about other bags (specifically the Orion messenger bag) that described poor D rings holding the shoulder strap. I didn't want my $4k investment to hit the floor, so I was pretty weary on which to select. I saw a video review on youtube of this product which sold me on it.
When it arrived I was even more impressed. The design was awesome, the outer material seemed tough, the interior well padded and all the compartments held everything I needed it to and more.
Again, if you have an Alienware 18x then it will fit nicely.
I am completely stoked with this bag! You won't be disappointed if you get this!

I purchased the Kiken Shoulder Bag after doing days worth of research trying to find the right bag to carry my Alienware M17x R3. It is a very large gaming laptop, and there are not too many bags that it will fit in. I actually came across the Kiken pretty early in the search, but I kept looking to see if there were any better options out there. In my search I was looking for a messenger or shoulder bag. I carry my laptop to and from a professional setting, so a backpack wasn't really much of an option for me. That was actually what I was trying to get away from. Protection was a big issue for me as well, though not enough to need a hard case or pelican case. I would be carrying my laptop out to oil platforms with me though, and the people that handle our bags onto the helicopters are not always the most gentle. To top it all off though, I spend a lot of time offshore, so I need to be able to bring everything I need to game, work, and entertain myself while I am out there. All of these things affected my decision on a bag, and I was able to settle in on the Kiken. It took a little extra to make it right, but the end result worked so well that I thought it would help everyone out for me to share the results. I ended up with the Kiken 18" Shoulder Bag and the PTAC Matrix 18" Laptop Sleeve, both made by Slappa. Originally, I was told that the extra sleeve wouldn't be able to fit into the dedicated laptop sleeve of the Kiken, but when I received the items, the first thing I did was try to stick it in there. Fortunatly, it worked! I should note that I put the sleeve into the bag without the laptop in it first. After that point, I was easily able to slide in and remove my M17x without having to take the extra sleeve out. This combination leaves me with unbelievable protection, in a stylish, but not entirely unprofessional bag, that has amazing quality workmanship. Although there is a lot of velcro, so it can be noisy, the velcro is incredibly strong and the hardware is all metal. All of the stitching is sturdy and well done, and the ballistic nylon is very tough. I've already dropped the bag with my laptop in it a few feet and it banged around on some stairs, but the laptop and the bag came out unscathed.
I should also mention that I purchased this bag directly from Slappa, and their customer service was great. They did not have the Jedi Mind Trix sleeve in stock so they called me and we changed it a different one. They offered me a discount on the Jedi sleeve when they received more of them in to compensate the mix up. I've been using the bag for a little over a month now, and I have not run into any problems with it, or had any problems storing all of my accessories in it. I highly recommend this bag.I purchased this bag directly from the Slappa website for my ASUS G73JW laptop. It's a heavy laptop and I wanted something sturdy to carry it.
After 10 months the main handle (not shoulder strap) has separated from the bag on one side. I logged into the Slappa website to see what the warranty is and it's 180 days, so looks like I'm out of luck. I would of expected more than 10 months of use for a hundred dollar bag.
Something of interest. I tried to leave this exact same feedback on the Slappa website and guess what.... My feedback didn't show up. So it looks like only the positive feedback makes it to the big show.

This bag looks and feels cheap. Sure, it has numerous pockets, etc. for organizing files, papers, and so on, but it looks like it was purchased at Walmart, Target, or Office Depot. It definitely looks like it is trying to be something it's not, which is an expensive, well made, attractive bag that a working professional would be proud/happy to carry into work or even on a trip. Did not get the sense that this bag would hold up more than a year or so.Don't purchase this bag unless it's the only one that fits within your budget. When I originally placed my order for this bag via Amazon, I requested a "Cognac" colored bag. I received a BLACK bag and was not pleased. I contacted Luggage Guru via Amazon and they said that Amazon had the wrong UPC listed on their website and would replace it with the correct one.
Luggage Guru sent me the return UPS label via e-mail immediately and I requested my correct bag to be delivered to me by a certain date as I was planning a business trip.
Luggage Guru was true to their word and the bag arrived just as planned.
I am very pleased with the quality and looks of the bag and the color. Very "first class" stylish bag for the money with plenty of pockets for all your gear as well as room for a laptop.
It looks very professional and cannot wait to take this on my trip to show off!!
I would recommend Luggage Guru to everyone...especially with their excellent customer service and quality of products!!

The quality of the mini backpack is great, but it's just extremely tiny. I actually laughed when I opened it. I planned on using this as a lunch bag, but that is not going to happen. Most likely will hang it up somewhere in my cubicle at work for show.District Threads Canvas Field Bag
It's a pretty nice bag for a couple books and odds. The side pockets don't have much give to them so if you put large objects in they bulge quite a bit, which makes them essentially useless. So you basically have one main compartment.Unfortunately it's a bit small bordering on purse-ish. I'm a grad-student in the sciences and I like to work with a clipboard, if it was slightly larger so I could fit my clipboard in it would be about perfect. This was my fault for not checking the size, though. District Threads offers a field-bag that would have fit my clipboard. If you work on smaller items like moleskines then this bag will be an okay size for you. I didn't take off any stars for the size issue, just be aware.
I should note this is not a real canvas bag, it's pretty flimsy cotton and I expect it will wear through pretty fast if you subject it to much. Which kind of defeats the purpose of a canvas bag.My daughter is thrilled with her messenger bag. The dealer was excellent to work with and gave us excellent customer service.

I bought this bag 2 or 3 years ago to use as a purse. It's big enough to store tons of notebooks for school and has loads of hidden pockets for other random stuff. The compartment I use the most is actually the small zippered one on the back of it for my keys, wallet, and phone. It fades with use, of course, and it's just now getting holes in the back since I wear it everyday and it rubs against my leg. However, the back compartment has its own fabric so nothing is going to fall out through the frayed holes. The strap is quite long which I like and on me (5'6'') the top of the bag is between my waist and hip.Almost all of the compartments are zippered except the one behind the front flap which is a little piece of velcro and of course the main compartment.
The canvas fabric holds paint and sharpie doodles very well!
Now that I'm done with college I'm looking for a smaller bag to use as a purse and will definitely look into this company again.

I bought this for my husband back in 2010 for Christmas. He needed a messenger bag that could carry his books for college as well as his laptop. He is still using it to carry his laptop to work, and it has been two years! Nothing is tearing or breaking, and the quality of the bag is still in mint condition. If you are looking at the more expensive messenger bags because you think you will get a better product, you should just come right back to this one. Great product, great deal!Littlelife Runabout Toddler Daypack
I'm sure Littlelife had every intention to be kind to toddlers by preventing parents from overloading them. From that standpoint, this pack fits its billing. The dimensions listed (9 x 7 x 2 inches) are mostly accurate, except that the pack is slightly hump shaped, so the two-inch interior depth tapers down towards the top.
For an 14 to 18 month old who wants to help, this pack would be perfect: padded "just right" on the straps and back, quality materials and durable construction to survive a little rough handling and dragging, plus the leash...
However, for our 34 inch tall, 30 pound, not-quite 2½ year-old, it was obviously too small as soon as we opened the package.
What will the Littlelife hold? We were hoping he could carry his knit nap blanket in it, but it's necessary to literally stuff it in (the blanket is about 2x3 feet). Two or three board books, or a small lunch, or a hat and a pullover all are about the ideal sized load. And actually, that's not bad for day-tripping. But is it smaller than a bread box? Definitely -it's too small to hold an average sized loaf of bread (cut me some slack -trying to think of some common frame of reference).
I'll next try a Wildkin Pack 'n Snack Backpack, which has roughly twice the capacity. Undecided if the Littlelife will stick around (possibly in anticipation of our youngest son using it once he's of the right age and ability), or if it's going back. I definitely like everything about this Littlelife except for the capacity. This is an adorable little backpack, perfect for my two-year-old. When it arrived I thought it would be way too small. It looked doll-sized, but when I put it on my little man it filled his back. Any bigger and I think it would be cumbersome. I was able to put his lunch and toy tractor in it and I had room to spare. The size specs on Amazon didn't seem to match the Littlelife website so I was worried Amazon was selling an older/smaller version (I don't know if one actually exists), but the bag I received seemed to match the slightly large dimensions from the manufacturers website: 4½x6¾x10¼". It is largest at the bottom and then tapers up, but that size seems to suit the body of a little toddler. Overall, I'm pleased with the size and the quality.

I bought this backpack before my son (almost 2 yrs old) and I took our first plane ride. I was worried about how to handle him and my luggage through the airport. This backpack was great! It made him feel like a "big boy" with his backpack on and I was able to keep him close to me in the busy airport. He didn't even notice that I had the strap attached to his backpack. Allowing him to walk through the airport made it so he WANTED to sit once we got on the airplane. My only "complaint" about it is I wish the handle was retractable vs the fixed vinyl strap. The backpack is big enough to hold a diaper or two, some wipes and a few snacks. It fits him just perfectly, not too big or too small, with a firm clip in the front. Very cute design! Highly recommended!Read Best Reviews of Littlelife Runabout Toddler Daypack Here
We commute to work/daycare by public transit. At one end of our commute is a 0.5 mile walk through parks and busy streets. Our son, who is now 2 years old, has become increasingly independent. He wants so very badly to walk with us rather than riding in the stroller. But expecting a 2 year old to walk that entire distance and constantly hold your hand isn't reasonable. He wants to explore, to touch the world around him, to stoop down to inspect a ladybug. The constant push and pull of trying to keep him safe when we crossed busy streets but letting him walk on his own when we're somewhere safe was taxing on all of us. So we took a chance and ordered him this little backpack.Wow what a payoff!
He's thrilled to be carrying his own lunch just like mommy & daddy, we feel comfortable letting him walk beside us without having to always hold hands because the tether strap keeps him from going more than a few feet from our sides.
The pack is very well made with the same sort of details that go into an adult sized pack. The materials are of good quality with a well made zipper and beefy nylon fabric that won't wear out any time soon. The chest buckle keeps the straps firmly in place on his little shoulders as well as turning the pack into a harness that he can't get out of on his own. I looked before buying and most of the other toddler with a parent tether strap don't have the buckle to keep your kid from slipping out of the shoulder straps and taking off across a street without you. The inside of the bag is just big enough for our son to carry a 12oz kid sized Nalgene Tritan full of milk, a 12 oz insulated Thermos for his warm lunch, and a small plastic box with some fruit and pretzels in it.
All in all, I expect we're going to be getting a couple years of use out of this great little bag before he outgrows it and passes it on to a younger sibling!I just bought this for my 2 1/2 year old. He was excited because of the little back pack. He loves it and wants it on everytime we go out. However, there are quite a few issues with this. Where the leash attaches, it's VERY easy for your child to merely turn around to look at you, and the leash will wind up wrapping around their necks. Second, the whole backpack/harness will start riding up over the chest area and becomes uncomfortable. THIRD, the shoulder straps cut into his neck bad. He had red welts on his neck from the straps. Not a good product, do NOT recommend at ALL.
OverBoard Adventure Backpack, White
This backpack costs more than others I have previously purchased, but it is very high quality. The inside of the bag contains many pockets and compartments that allow you to hold extra items separate. I use it frequently for hiking or just as a bag; and after using it for two months it is still in good shape. I have noticed that it is not totally waterproof, however: do not leave electronics in here during heavy rain or allow the bag to be submerged.EDIT: After six months, the bag has gotten beat up a bit. I have used it heavily, but the material had a small rip on the inside and a zipper broke off. I was able to repair the zipper in a matter of minutes using round nose pliers, but the rip I have left. Bottom line: a good bag, but for $80 a more durable bag is probably out thereI bought this product thinking it would be nice to have a fairly water resistant backpack for school. After I had it for less that 6 moths the bottom fell apart and my stuff fell out. I called the company that makes them and they had me ship it to them. I then got an email saying that they would replace it this one time but that it was not normal wear and tear so they would not do this again. When I received the replacement it looked poorly made. the rubber like lower part was all bubbled and started coming apart after a few weeks. Now 5 months later the whole front zipper has come apart there is a tear developing in the top inside compartment. I am extremely disappointed in the product. An 80 dollar backpack should last more than 6 months.

I bought this product because I wanted a waterproof backpack for the heavy rains in Bogota, Colombia. When I received the bag, the front zipper was not properly attached to the fabric. Also the bottom was tearing off on the sides. I wasn't happy after having paid a lot for the backpack. Whatever, I krazyglued the zipper and bottom and figured it would be ok. The first big rain, come to find out water leaks through the zipper. The zipper is completely exposed and doesn't have a cover or anything to keep out the rain. You'd think the designer would have thought that one through. Sure the material is waterproof but what about leaving an uncovered zipper that leaks? Ridiculous. Don't waste your money on this back if you want a bag that will keep your work from getting wet.Read Best Reviews of OverBoard Adventure Backpack, White Here
Don't buy this backpack. IS A FRAUD. The top zips have no kind of protection. It let the rain in and wet my objects on the second day of use. I contacted the overboard about returning the product and they rejected, arguing that it was used, and suggested me a voucher in return for a different backpack. The voucher didn't work, and they didn't answered me again. So if you think this review is a bad joke and decide to buy this fraud, don't forget you were warned!!
Look carefully at the photos, and don't commit the same mistake as I. This backpack is not water resistant.I took this camping, and there was a thunderstorm. Tent was soaking wet inside and out, bag was soaking wet, but all contents were dry!
