I need to use this bag awhile to give a thorough review, but since there aren't any reviews so far, I thought I'd share some initial impressions. The good: outside appears sturdy to deal with commuting; nice clips and decent should pad on the strap; convenient outside pocket w/ 3 pen holders, a plastic carabiner clip and small pocket; backbackpack straps pack nicely into a zipped compartment; and inside size/padding are sufficient to hold 15.4 laptop and other electronic essentials. A plus is that a backpack strap or the shoulder strap can be clipped to carry as a messenger bag (left or right). I'm a long-distance commuter on public transportation, so my major disappointment is that the designers apparently failed to measure a typical water bottle. Both outside bottle holders are much too small, and I question whether the mesh will hold up. The inside pockets are made using a thinner fabric. Hard to say whether they'll rip and fray with use. As an FYI, I'm a 5'9" female and find the approx 16" height of the bag on the edge of being too tall to comfortably wear cross-body in front (my preferred for commuting). The thinner vertical profile is nice for wearing on the back, especially compared to bulkier backpack bags. The three stars is because the exterior bottle holders were the only reason for my purchase of this particular bag.
