Cocoon SOHO CMB351 Messenger Bag - Black/Lime Green

Cocoon SOHO CMB351 Messenger Bag - Black/Lime GreenI eagerly awaited the arrival of this bag because there were design elements that I appreciated in theory before even laying hands on one: magnetic closures for the front instead of noisy velcro, ballistics Cordura all around the bag, not just on the bottom, safety belt webbing for the strap, and the intriguing grid-it system. My other motivation for grabbing it was I wanted a bag that had a somewhat nondescript exterior, no obvious bells and whistles, something that didn't scream "steal this bag!"

I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the size of the bagI had read the 13" version was definitely not too large, which I wanted, but I didn't want it to be too small, and it is just about right for my purposes, which was to get a bag that could safely transport my iPad and the stuff I carry with me every day. I am able to get my stuff in the bag, but one thing I don't like about the magnetic latch system is if you overload this bag at all, the magnets don't latch. so the whole bag is fairly insecure at that point. It could really use a couple of straps and buckles to ensure proper closure.

Overall, this is a great bag with nice features, but one problem that makes it hard for me to unconditionally endorse.

I got this as an alternative to a computer backpack I seem to carry the world in. It's perfect for an iPad or small laptop. The zippered mesh container will hold chargers for the iPad, iPhone, and my MiFi. The GridIt is really cool and very useful. I used to use a few ziplock bags and this is a much better solution. It's definitely not a carryall, but I bought it because it wasn't!

A few weeks later, I'm still loving the bag. I've also gotten a 13" MacBook Air which fits in it easily. The only thing I can think of which would make it better is a handle. It'd be nice but it's definitely not necessary. Still strongly recommended.

I thought, wrongly, that the messenger bag would be a little smaller, my fault, the dimensions are posted. I had wanted to use instead of a purse but a little big for that. Also, strap falls off shoulder, not so easy to cart around. Well made and is exactly as described.

Rothco Vintage Urban Pioneer Laptop Bag

Rothco Vintage Urban Pioneer Laptop BagI wanted a canvas briefcase for laptop and papers. The bag arrived on time and I was disappointed on receipt for the following reasons:

a) Bag had cotton fibers and a funny smell as if stored in damp conditions for long time moldy.

b) The padding for the laptop was nonexistent on one side. So only a thin canvas layer between the laptop and outside world.

c) The way the bag is made, the it hangs lopsided if carried by the handle. The weight of the papers and laptop in the bag in relation to the handle twists the briefcase to one side.

d) One can't carry the bag unless the hook is closed and the hook closing required a two handed exercise in frustration .

e) The zips are pretty low quality plastic and I am not sure they will stand the wear and tear of regular use.

f) The inside zippered compartment has extremely this cotton.

One review that I read about this bag mentioned "tons of pockets!" Unfortunately, that was the review that clenched it for me and I purchased the bag. Well, in my Laptop Bag World, 5 pockets does not cut it. The canvas is heavy and durable, the clasp somewhat strange. It seems sturdy and big enough, but with my usage, it could break within the year.

I would put this bag, realistically, at a $25.00 retail value.

I ordered this and then thought.."it looks like a mans messenger bag". So I received it and I LOVE IT....

It is just what I wanted...a cross body soft messenger bag that I could fit my iPad and things in...especially in the warmer weather...it's so comfortable to wear..

And it has leather around the bottom that will wear with age....

Great purchase...and a great price....

Yes..,its good for women.....PERFECT SIZE...

It can be for men...women or teens....

I really like the materials used (canvas and leather), and the appearance and feel of the bag is quite nice. My favorite features are the leather bottom and leather handle. However, the laptop pocket is only padded on the inside wall that divides it from the second full-size pocket. There is no padding in the outer wall of the bag where it would be most needed. There are only two zippered pockets: one small one on the outside that is just tall enough to hold pens/markers/pencils, and one medium-size pocket inside that I'm using for adapters, thumb drives, and the like. There are two deep, narrow pockets that are open at the top on the front of the bag, under the flap. I use those for larger items like the power adapter, that I don't worry will fall out.

It will suffice, but I wish it had more pockets that close.

I got this bag to lug around heavy college books. Works out great. Very druable. The clasp is sometimes a little bothersome...its not the easiest to close with one hand. Other than that...i really like this bag. Very happy with purchase.

Alchemy Goods Original Messenger Bag, Made from Recycled Bike Tubes

Alchemy Goods Original Messenger Bag, Made from Recycled Bike Tubes, BlackI LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS BAG

I personally own the entire range of Alchemy goods bags (haversack, urban, pike, pine, and now messenger) and at first was like do I really need a another large bag?

Oh yes I DID!

Am I glad I chose to purchase this one,

Ok first of all the bag is ridiculously visible with the reflective taping adorning the entire shell of the bag making it ultra noticeable at night and even in the day as the sun catches the reflective coating, So for bikers, skateboarders, or even motorcyclists it adds a additional layer of protection.

One thing not mentioned often are the two handy side pouches on the outside of the bag, at first i was like oh god no exterior zip pouch where am i going to put my water and phone, i was excited to find these slots, they're ideally placed and hold your items securely,

The interior is voluminous with 2 pouches that can hold a 7 inch tablet, or even a small book. I personally use this bag as a travel bag and for carryon luggage, it meets airline guidelines and I can fit about 2-3 days worth of clothes, toiletries, etc into it. Even for school it can hold all your massive biology and chem textbooks and still have room. Add in a key hook + pen slots, and a 17 inch laptop divider and you have a great work bag.

The interior Zip pocket under the flap is big enough to hold a galaxy note and keeps things secure and out of sight, a nice protective feature.

The double seatbelt strap is really nice and comfortable, a pretty cool addition

Plus like all alchemy goods bags it's waterproof, what other bag can say that, i have massive disrespect for water resistant bags because inevitably they will leak water in and damage your belongings, that will NOT happen with a alchemy goods bag.

This bag is a beast and super durable,

I love it and totally recommend it!

Have had this messenger bag six months now and very happy with its performance. Bag is large and holds all that I need it for for work, including my biking garment bag. Multiple pockets are enough to keep my big and small items separate, and my 15" laptop fits great. I do keep my laptop in a padded "InCase" holder (always have) and thus can't comment on padding.

Sliding strap does work to provide extra support while riding. Large stripes are very visible and make me feel better as I often bike before the sun comes up. There are side pockets on the ends of the bag where I can add a few extras, but I find that only one of them can really hold a regular sized water bottle.

I was worried the tubes would not be very protective, but have found that they are very durable. I've gotten the bag caught on corners of tables, screw-ends, and misc parts of the bike and thought I'd find a little tear in the rubber, but that hasn't happened in six months of everyday use.

Compared the bag with the Timbuk2 messenger bags when deciding what kind of bag to get and found the Timbuk2 ratings less than comforting. So went with this bag and very happy that I did, especially with the recycled factor and USA made...glad to keep my dollars local.

Very much appreciate the key hook...

Laptop / Macbook Pro Sleeve Neoprene Case Bag with Hidden Handle handbag for 12-Inch, 13-Inch, 13.3

Laptop / Macbook Pro Sleeve Neoprene Case Bag with Hidden Handle handbag for 12-Inch, 13-Inch, 13.3-Inch, 12.1-Inch and 13-Inch NotebookOverall i like the bag, it fits the Macbook pro 13' perfectly. The handles are nice, but to get them to work you have leave the zipper open the width of the handles. The only problem is that one side of the zipper doesn't work properly it sticks as long as i don't pull to hard its ok. If i didn't need it i would likely have returned or replaced it until i got one with a working zipper.

#1080CC Pelican HardBack Case (with Computer Case Liner)

Pelican 1080CC Black HardBack Case - Notebook carrying caseI own several Pelican cases. When I saw the options for cases for my MacBook, I knew that this case would be just what I needed.

The MacBook 13.3" fits snugly inside the case. The case says 13" notebooks, but the extra width of the MacBook is accepted. The case is shipped with small foam large and small spacers. I used the large spacers but placed them inside the top lid of the case so that the notebook screen wouldn't be opened when I opened the Pelican.

I don't have any worries now when I toss my notebook into a backpack and travel. I felt uneasy about having to take my notebook out of my Pelican 1510 carry-on case when gate-checking my carry-on luggage for small regional jets.

I have had my MacBook for 18 months, during which time it has lived mainly in its neoprene sleeve from Incase. I have used it lightly, handled it gently, and moved it out of the house rarely (at most once per week). It has been transported, in this Incase sleeve, inside my padded bookbag, with at most 1 or 2 other paperback books, nothing major.

And yet the MacBook has developed many fine hairline cracks--along corners, radiating from the Apple logo, etc. Not highly noticeable, but unacceptable. I appreciated that the Incase sleeve is minimalist--but really, it offers no cushion and no support at all in the most sensitive areas of the laptop: the wide, unbuttressed single-layer plastic sheet behind the LCD screen and the corners of the notebook. If I had kept the laptop in a computer bag, this might not have been a problem. But if I had bought a computer bag, why would I have bought the neoprene sleeve?

For those of you in a similar situation to mine--you would rather do without a bulky computer bag (easily recognized as such, no less)--I would recommend this Pelican case.

The arguments -againstthe Pelican case are these:

--It will consume much more volume in your bag than the flimsy Incase sleeve.

--It lacks a carrying handle.

--It seems a little over-the-top.

--It's a little difficult to open.

The arguments -forthe Pelican case are these:

--It is, really, a very small case considering its efficacy.

--It will still fit inside your bookbag nicely.

--Its "over-the-top" protection may just save you another $1500 for a new MacBook, or at least a few hundred in premature repairs or data-recovery due to physical damage.

--It won't open without your permission.

None of the other hard plastic MacBook cases offer the same level of protection. All the translucent shells leave every port gleefully unprotected--moisture, dirt and dust, all can go right in. Would you carry your laptop through the rain in that? Even the Incase sleeve is full of vent-holes along the edges--Why?

Admittedly, there are a couple moulded foam cases which do seem to offer some protection--the Booq Vyper, for instance. The Booq case is a little lighter, much flimsier, costs the same--but might suit some tastes. I have not seen many raving reviews.

A note for MacBook owners: the width of the MacBook will fit very snugly into the case, with little to no room for padding on that axis. For this reason, purchase the case model with the pick-n-pluck foam. The padding will need a bit of tweaking to suit your Mac. I feel assured that my MacBook is very well protected in that dimension, as well.

Very satisfied.

Just so everyone is aware, this case will NOT fit the Macbook Pro 13". All the reviewers who said otherwise are incorrect and it is highly annoying, so if you don't want to return this item don't buy it.

The box comes with some thin foam that lines the inside. This is not the "pluck foam" but rather a very thin foam -"convoluted lid foam" in their description which is customized to fit the inside of the box.

With the lid foam, the Macbook Air 13" and the MacBook Pro 13", will not quite fit. You need about another 1/8 of an inch. So you have to remove this foam. Then these two products will just fit but there is no room for any padding between the computer and the hard plastic of the box at the sides. If the box were 1/8 inch bigger from side to side, it would be perfect.

It is not the end of the world, but it would be a lot nicer for users of these computers if the case were a few mm larger. So I have to take this foam lining out. (or I could cut out the part of this foam piece that extends up the sides and leave the rest)

I can use any foam I want to pad between the top and bottom of the computer or the front and back, but there is no room for ANY foam at the sides. It seems bizarre. Perhaps, Window PC 13" computers are a few mm smaller from side to side.

Of course, the iPad and the Macbook Air 11" fit in with LOTS of room at the sides. I wanted this case because I transport computers to a summer house by way of a small boat and I wanted a small case that would keep the computer completely dry. I will probably use it for my iPad and find something else for my Macbook Air 13"

Want #1080CC Pelican HardBack Case (with Computer Case Liner) Discount?

Bought this case for a macbook pro 13". It fits very snugly with no extra room for foam on the side. It is a good size and light, but pretty WEAK! If i stepped on the case it would damage the computer. Not what I expected from Pelican. Hopefully they aren't using this flimsy plastic for all their cases

Targus Sport 26L Laptop Backpack - 16"

Targus Sport 26L Backpack for Laptops up to 16-Inch TSB712USI was interested in a new backpack, specifically because my old one only has like three pockets. I'm always drawn to a backpack with tons of pockets, which this backpack surely has. Of course, these pockets aren't made just to please me; this backpack is specially designed for laptops, netbooks, tablets, and the like and it handles these amply. The largest pocket is perfect for laptops, and it has a smaller dividing pocket in the compartment which you could shove just about any flat thing into (book, tablet, etc.). There is also a very small soft pocket right next to it in which you could put small accessories of some type. The next biggest pocket has a bunch of smaller inner pockets aside from the large empty area that you can put a ton of small accessories in (flash drive, cables, pens, etc.). The last pocket is on the very back and is rather small, so it wouldn't fit anything much bigger than a flash drive or a USB cable. The backpack also features two side pockets for holding drink bottles. Overall, a nice number of pockets.

As for the actual functionality of the backpack, I feel like the strapped are nicely padded and comfortable, but it does have a few flaws. First off, the zipper on the main pocket tends to be a bit hard to zip and unzip, mostly due to the fabric flap that covers the zipper. The backpack also has these two straps on the outside that dangle in an irritating fashion if you don't snap them closed, but also prevent you from fully opening the zippers if it is snapped closed. I'm not really sure what their purpose is, but I found them kind of annoying. The only other complaint I have is not really much of a complaint, it's just more of an unnecessary feature. You may have noticed the MP3 jack on the strap and wondered how that works. It literally attaches to an input jack that goes to a small pocket on the inside of the backpack. Why does this need to exist? I can't imagine that anyone would actually want to use this. I mean, imagine that you stick your mp3 player into that little pocket inside the pack, then you can't ever pause, change songs, adjust volume, or anything as your walking. I mean, anyone with an mp3 player would probably just stick it in their pocket as they walk (which is what I do). Oh well, if you don't want/need to use the jack, you don't have to. Anyway, those are the only real flaws that I noticed. All in all, it's a nice backpack for it's purpose, and I can't complain much.

It's so light and usefull ,I love it I can put my whole things in it .i also can put my 17 inch laptop in it.

Hello,

I use this backpack to transport my 15" MacBook Pro and it gives you plenty of space to put everything else you need.

The materials are very durable, the colors and the design are very good too, it has an iPod/Walkman, etc pocket with an audio cable that lets you connect your headsets to the exterior of the backpack using a concealed connector. this is fantastic!!

On the other hand, it gives you enough pockets for you to organize the various gadgets you can use.

At the beginning, The backpack was a little on the stiff side but with use, it gets a little bit more comfortable. If i was to give a feedback on the design itself, I would put a little bit more cushion on the straps but, other than that, this is a wonderful backpack for a very reasonably price.

Light, rugged, convenient, good looking... I would buy it again.

Thanks for reading

JP

Amazing Backpack!!!

Here is what I would have wanted to know about this pack and exactly WHY (I love it) and gave it 5 stars:

1) IPOD PLUG. I love the most about this pack is the Plug on the back strap for my earbuds to my IPod. Located on the back straps running a cord directly into the inside of the backpack into a little pocket that you put your IPod into. So darn cool. You can also use headphones instead of earbuds.

2) WATER BOTTLE HOLDER ON THE SIDE. There are two water bottle holders on the side of the pack. Awesome! TWO!!

3) PADDING I also love the amount of padding in this pack.I love a good back pack but sometimes the padding leaves something to be desired. The padding on this pack is more then adequate, for sure!!

4) ROOMY. Its quite deceiving when you first get it, there is so much SPACE!! It looks like a regular size backpack but I starting putting my school things in it and just had tons and tons of room. I can fit three laptop computers in here, plus books and paper.

5) KEY POCKET ON OUTSIDE. There is a small pocket on the outside for keys, for easy access.

6) INSIDE POCKETS. The inside pocket has space for a cell phone, pens and small things that could easily be a problem at the bottom of the pack to find. Good thinking here!

7) WATERPROOF MATERIAL. Essential and Strong.

8) ZIPPERS. They all have pull tabs that are easy to pull.

If you have a student in your family, this is ALL he or she will need to feel safe, organized and hydrated. This is a great backpack!

This backpack is awesome. I got it for my husband and he is so happy with it. We are both pleased with how padded the backpack is. There is space for so many extra things too. The straps that go over your shoulders are very comfortable. We had had one in the past that was not built as nicely as this one is and it quickly came apart. This one is built to last. Comfortable to wear, spacious interior and padding that makes you know that your laptop is safe. What more could you ask. This is definitely one to consider purchasing. We give it an A+++

First, it said for iPad 2, but it is too big for it. Second, the quality of the butterfly print is cheap. They are not as bright and definitely not as neat as they look in the pictures. Third, this looks white, well it is beige-ish white. Looks dirty when in fact this is the actual colour; dirty-white!!!! Very disappointed.

Shoreline 12142 Large 15.4" Act2 GreenSmart Laptop Sleeve - Storm Blue

Shoreline 12142 Large 15.4' Act2 GreenSmart Laptop Sleeve - Storm BlueThis is the best laptop sleeve out in the market... I went for this because I hate the popular neoprene sleeves, which looks like kitchen rug after sometime. This one is perfect for 15 inch laptops. I use a 14 inch Lenovo T400 with extended battery. My laptop is not correct fit and moves inside the sleeve, which is not a great worry. This one is of excellent quality, far better than the neoprene ones. I have been using this for 16 months now. Looks new, even after heavy use, including 3 months in villages in Amazon forests. BUY IT !!

The Bumble Collection Chloe Convertible Bag

The Bumble Collection Chloe Convertible Bag, Evening BloomAugust 2011 BumbleBags just got a HUGE thumbs up, in my book! I had a slight issue w/ the bag. I called their customer service and they are SENDING ME A NEW BAG, no questions asked!! I'm so impressed! I talked to a REAL person, she was very kind and apologetic that I'd experienced issues, and she absolutely stood behind their product. I'd do business with Bumble Bags again, in a heartbeat. Thanks for making a great product and standing behind it!!!!!!!!!!

March 2011 I just received this bag today and am in LOVE with it! My baby isn't due until May, but I have 3 other children and thus, lots of experience with diaper bags.

This diaper bag seems to have it all; numerous pockets that are well-placed and a good size (there are 3 large zippered pockets, 2 magnetic-closure pockets, 2 inner bottle pockets and 2 rectangular "sleeves" for diapers and wipes), sturdy straps and hardware, nice-size zipper pulls that are functional and not awkward.

The material feels much sturdier than I expected and has nice details. The changing pad (solid gray color) folds up and fits nicely inside the bag because it's NOT that stiff, plastic material you'd find in most diaper bags. I'm looking forward to using the different strap configurations, and they seem easy to move and switch around. The drawstring bag included to store the strap appendages is very sturdy and slips nicely inside the diaper bag without being bulky.

In summary...

Although I haven't put it to real, practical use, I have a good "gut feeling" about this bag, based on the numerous diapers bags I've owned and worn out in the past. :) Good quality, great organizing potential, sturdy hardware and of course, SUPER cute design in both shape and material. This bag gets a HUGE "two thumbs up" from me. It's my first time seeing a bag by "Bumble Bags", much less purchasing one but I am a believer!!!!!

UPDATE: THREE MONTHS LATER...

I LOVE THIS BAG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our baby came in May, and I've used it every single day since then. I can get an amazing amount of stuff into it. I love the outside end pockets because they're great for slipping my phone and keys into. I have used the convertible straps several times and my favorite configuration is the one where I can attached the bag to my stroller, and it only takes 10 seconds to swap out the straps for that stroller option-REALLY easy to do and convenient.

The only, very minor issue I have with it is that the straps can cut into the shoulder and neck a bit, if the bag is particularly heavy, because they're made of seat-belt like material. I wish the makers of the bag had put a slide-able shoulder pad/protector on the strap. BUT, that being said, I woulld absolutely get this bag again. I get lots of compliments on it, and it's worth every penny!

I absolutely love this diaper bag and the print is adorable. I don't even use my purse anymore because this bag is so convenient and cute. I have two little girls and another baby on the way, so I wanted to get a diaper backpack to make things easier! I love that this bag is convertible so you can choose how you want to wear it. The metal rings on the straps are perfect for clipping your keys to and I use the magnetic-close pockets on each side for my cell phone, chapstick, and gum (in one pocket) and my diaper cream and hand sanitizer (in the other pocket). Very easy access. I also love the two pockets inside made for sippies or bottles. The two pockets on the inside for a travel case of wipes and diapers are also very nice. I have never had a diaper bag that made me feel so organized. :) Really couldn't ask for more...definitely worth the $$!

Buy The Bumble Collection Chloe Convertible Bag Now

I ordered this bag hoping for a colorful, convertible bag with good organization and easy stroller straps. I was dissapointed with my skip hop duo deluxe (great stroller clips and pockets, good medium size for day use, but too hard to find anything in the main compartment once full) and I like my Timi and Leslie backpack covertible bag pretty well but it is definitely boxy and can be cumbersome when full. This bag is very pretty and is a good medium size but the opening is narrow and the bag is deep so I think it would be hard to fish out what you're looking for easily. The side pockets seem like they would be good for bottles but not much else because they are tall and narrow (I don't use bottles so they were no use to me), I did like that these had magnet closures though. The front and back pockets are roomy but didn't have smaller pockets for organization, so again, would be fishing around for what you need. The biggest issue I had with this bag was the material, it is supposed to be stain resistant but it seems like it would get dirty easily. However, I only loaded this bag up to see if it would work for me but never road tested it. I might have kept it if I had seen other reviews that stated it stayed clean (then again, I didn't see any that said it got dirty but there aren't many reviews on this at all right now). If you want a convertible bag with functional pockets for organization, and something that will stay clean / be easily cleaned, I'd go with the Timi and Leslie canvas collection backpack or tagalong (this is the best I've found so far after using the skip hop duo deluxe and a large laminated kate spade and after ordering, loading up and subsequently returning (without actually using) a bumblebag convertible and skip hop versa). Hope this helps!

Octonauts School Swim Bag

Octonauts School Swim BagIt is a good size. It was a little more plastic than I expected but made my grandson very happy. he puts all him swim stuff in it before he leaves for his swimming lessons.

My 3 year old Granddaughter loves watching the Octonauts and she's taking swimming lessons, so when I saw this I had to get it for her. She received her package last night and my son texted me to get on skype. She was so excited with her swim bag! She loved it! Tumi Alpha Bravo Day Barslow Cross Body Bag

Tumi Alpha Bravo Barstow Crossbody, Hickory, One SizeIf you appreciate quality, you won't mind the price of this bag. It's a very small man-bag without much z-axis depth to it, so you'll struggle to stowe your bottle of water or whatever, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in quality and suitability for purpose.

If you haven't owned Tumi bags before, I imagine like me you're thinking "$165 for ballistic nylon?" While there is definitely a premium for the Tumi name I have to say the ballistic nylon this bag is made of is thick and luxurious and heavy. It's soft to the touch compared to the average camera bag and the weave is thicker. It's really quite beautiful with the leather accents, and so on. Even the strap feels more like silk than the usual nylon webbing used on cheaper bags.

The inner honeycomb-style lining is strangely soft. It feels luxurious almost like you might wrap your crystalware in it, but it's also tough and resilient. These kinds of synthetic materials are what you might expect if Tumi engineers raided Area 51.

As for the functionality... It's damned near impossible to find the perfect bag for an iPad Mini, so if you have one and are looking for a suitable bag STOP LOOKING. I bought this at the same time as the Tumi Alpha-Bravo Beale, because I was uncertain if this bag was too small. It's not. It's too small for your drink, but your iPad Mini will just LOVE it. The Beale is better for regular iPads, or if you absolutely must carry a drink bottle at all times.

The photos on Tumi's website are somewhat more useful, but even so it can be hard to see all the hidden features of a bag before buying. The most notable but easily overlooked feature of this bag is a slip pocket located on the front of the bag, under the flap. It's the PERFECT size for an iPad Mini laid horizontally. This pocket also contains pen slots etc, but happens to be just magically sized for an iPad Mini. Even if you over-stuff this bag, you can still fit the iPad mini in the front compartment vertically, and it stays nicely covered by the flap.

This leaves the bottom U-shaped pocket free for your sunglasses, while the main body can hold your other miscellany. I carry a long (travel-style) wallet with my whole life in it, and often fold up my beret and stuff it in there. It's got plenty of room for all your bits and pieces and little pockets everywhere, including a pocket in the rear compartment which seems like it was designed specifically for an earbud-case and fits the Apple EarPods beautifully.

If you're intending to wear this bag crossbody-style (recommended!) you'll absolutely love where the strap is attached to the front of the bag. They've sewn it to the inside so the bag and strap sit naturally closer to the body. It helps reduce the usual flapping around that messenger bags tend to do when you jog across the street to avoid that one weird guy nobody likes.

The strap isn't super-long, but at full extension sits just about perfectly on a broad-bodied 6'7" man. I've had longer, but I doubt many would want or need more length than that.

This and the Beale were my first Tumi purchases and I am now an instant raving fan. If for some reason you buy one of their bags and aren't completely impressed, chew me out in the comments then use the free return shipping label provided.

Highly recommended and it is perfect for everyday usage. Fits perfectly all my stuff to include if needed my regular Ipad and a perfect fit for my iPad mini.

First of all please note that this is a very small bag. It holds my glasses (with case), wallet, premium earbuds in a case, iPhone 4S, miscellaneous small items and that's about it. Usually a bag this small would have girlie written all over it not this one. The quality is what you would expect from Tumi i.e. impeccable. The zippered outer compartment can hold a pair of glasses or a smartphone. The flap covers the main compartment and an open front compartment with one cc pocket and two pen slots. The small flap is not at all intrusive unlike most bags designed for men. There is an open compartment st the back with one interior pocket big enough to hold a 4S in a Speck case.

The design of this bag is all Alpha Male. As stated it has compartments for all those odds and ends you carry around. My ipad fits snugly with padded protection. Though compact, it has room for my sunglass case (prescription) and an S95 Cannon camera. Please not the strap configuration on the bag itself. The bag always fits comfortably directly on my shoulder or slung across my body.. My son wont's one for his birth day. This is my third "man bag" , and my search for the perfect one is over. Did I mention it's a Tumi, quality doesn't come any better than that.

Alley Messenger Bag

STM Medium Alley Laptop BagI specifically wanted a vertical laptop bag with fewer pockets and lightweight carry. This bag fits the need perfectly and has a fine shoulder pad. Overall design is simple and utilitarian. The sections & pockets are fewer but very large and can carry almost anything. A negative is that after 3 months of daily use, the inside laptop section divider fabric stitching has started to break and separate through normal use. This also reveals the thin polyfoam construction of the internal divider. At best, this is okay and a compromise for weight and cost, but given all the other design & assembly compromises, I wonder if this will last a year or 2 without becoming an annoyance?

I've had this bag for 4 months now. It is a nice looking bag, and also has a nice light and small design. It fits my notebook, power chords, and notebook-mouse just fine without looking stuffed or too thick. In fact, I really liked this bag until one day...

It was a rainy day. I packed my notebook as usual, stepped outside assuming all would be protected and safe. However, if you look carefully, the flap that swings over the top is not made to wrap around the edges. There is an angled gap of roughly half an inch on both sides of the flap, that provides direct access to the notebook.

Luckily for me, it was a short walk to the car in very heavy rain. when I opened my notebook bag, I discovered water on the edges of my notebook. And now, I have to always remember to stuff paper towels on the edges just in case it rains.

I use this messenger bag for my Macbook Pro 15'' and it's amazing, the space for the laptop is just great and the good thing is that it has also an special space for the charger and papers.

Has a great padded area for your 15" MacBookPro. There is a rubber covered handle for times you don't want to go to the trouble of using the padded strap. The shoulder strap can come off if you like and besides padding there is a cel pocket on it. Mostly you notice how the bag is planned out nicely for your computer and a few items like the cords, mouse etc. This is not your "tote everything and the kitchen sink" bag but then it wasn't made for that. It looks very sleek. People remark on the design and how great the bag looks. Also there is a version for 13" laptops.

Buy this for my mbp 13 ", I should buy the smallest model but the idea was to share with my wife a few times (she has a 15.6" laptop). The bag looks great and protects the laptop very well and not be as fancy as the Speck PortPack becomes safer in urban environments in my opinion.

would be good maybe one or two pockets for small items.

JanSport Skagit Outdoor Lifestyle Series Daypack

Jansport Skagit BackpackORIGINAL REVIEW 4/4/2011

I bought this backpack about a month ago. When I first opened it, my initial impression was one word: CHEAP! The backpack is made of a thin, plastic-feeling material, the zippers are plastic and feel flimsy, and the straps are just foam padding with a mesh (mesh! not even fabric) covering.

However, after using this backpack as a school and overnight bag for about a month now, it's holding up surprisingly well. I still think it feels kinda cheap, but it's pretty sturdy as well.

The design of the backpack is very basic. One HUGE compartment, and one fair-sized outer pocket. The outer pocket can fit a light sweater easily. It also has organizer pockets for pens and such. The main compartment is tall enough to fit a widescreen laptop, and has yet to fail me sizewise--I've fit everything I've wanted to, no problem.

If I remember to, I'll come back in a few more months to update my review (it'll have some outdoor experience by then too), but at this point in the game, I would buy this backpack again. Great price, functional, and sturdy enough so far.

UPDATE 9/7/2011

I've had this backpack for 6 months now. While I still think the material feels cheap, I can say that it's pretty sturdy and resilient.

The backpack's size is both a blessing and a curse. The main compartment is ridiculously large-I can fit a widescreen laptop, a pair of shoes, two pairs of jeans, and four shirts, just in the one compartment. However, it's not so great when you have very little to carry. If you put in just a textbook, it "sinks" to the bottom and flops around. Same with notebooks. You really have to fill it a little to keep everything in place.

Comfort-wise, I'd put this backpack as average. I've definitely worn more comfortable and supportive packs, but this one's not the worst. If you're looking for a backpack on a budget, I'd definitely recommend it, but if you've got money to spare, maybe not.

I bought the Blue Ridge version this pack for $25 at Marshall's near my home town with the intent of using it as my day pack on my backpacking tour across Europe coming up in the next year. I liked it initially because I could roll it up tightly to fit into my big pack, it has 30L of space, and i trust the Jansport name.

I have only used it yet for small day trips, hikes, and one trip to Niagra Falls. Thus far it has failed to impress me with how much it can fit and how comfortable and light the straps feel even in 110 degree weather-not to mention, the quality of the zippers and material has impressed me. Though it lacks compression straps on the side to accomedate smaller loads, I plan on only using it when I need to take a lot of stuff, so it doesn't bother me much.

I would say this is a great pack for an intermediate to avid backpacker.

I tested it out and took a walk to the park the day I got it. Most backpacks kill my back and neck when loaded up, but this was not that bad. The straps are nice and soft and there is a TON of room for everything I need. I can't wait to use it for the pool this summer!

Austin House Comfort Grip

Austin House Neon Yellow Comfort GripComfort Grip Luggage Handle is a wonderful invention that comes under the heading of "Why didn't I think of that first?"

This is a really excellent idea that functions to make the handle of your luggage more comfortable to grip, especially if you are carrying a heavy bag. It also makes your bag clearly visible as yours from a distance, thereby replacing all the ribbons, crocheted chains of yarn, etc. that you've used before.

Since I travel several times a year, I really appreciate this item. It is a wonderful invention that has been produced very well.

I'm surprised you don't see more of these at baggage carousels -they are a great product to identify your Costco or similar ubiquitous pullman from the crowd. We bought this set to replace an identical pair we lost on our last trip, the first loss we've had on Alaska. Since BOTH were "lost" between checking in and retrieval, we are convinced they were just stolen by handlers (but, why?). The grips had traveled the world over many trips without loss, so how could they both have disappeared without help? These come in three colors, and the orange color stands out best against our dark bags. We have them on the side assist handles rather than the top (as the top is the position where you are more likely to use the telescopic handle). The foam in the covers does make the strap more comfortable to lift, although these are not bags you would carry far anyway. The construction is durable, and the Velcro closure is very secure (and, not likely to even come undone in automated baggage sorting systems). Still, their primary value is in identifying your luggage, and they provide a good "beacon" to achieve that end. That's why we immediately ordered a new pair after discovering the loss of our old ones.

May be good for full sized luggage. I bought it to cover a messenger bag handle, but it is doesn't wrap tight enough. It gathered and made the handle uncomfortable. Used them for one day before they went into the trash.

All my luggage has a bright yellow Austin House Comfort Grip.

I can see my luggage as it comes down the chute.

I've even seen it on the loading carts parked near the plane when they're being loaded or unloaded.

No trying many bags to see if they're mine because there's no mistaking the bright yellow grip.

Other passengers probably quickly know it's not their bag -they don't have a bright yellow grip.

It's a great product too -well manufactured, grips tightly, and the luggage is easier to lift because of the padded grip.

A winner!

Dakine Women's Zuri Pack Backpack

Dakine Women's Zuri Pack Backpack, Meadowthis product just filled all the things that i need. i recommend this product without doubt. it's big, have a lot of space and doesnt give you backache.

This backpack is very cute. The pops of blue color abrighter and make it look bright but at the same time elegant compared a majority of the other sloppy backpacks that are out there. Its seams are fairly rigid, so it holds are a particular shape which can be both nice and frustrating. It's nice because it holds it's shape but this can also cause space to be pretty tight. I can fit my 15.6" Dell XPS 15z laptop in the laptop compartment, a folder and a 5-subject notebook in the sleeve of the main compartment as well as the laptop charger and maybe a book/lunch. The second compartment fits my iPhone, charger, headphone, sunglasses in the soft pouch (which is easily accessible, thankfully), a water bottle (notice there is no netted sleeve for bottles in this backpack, it has to go inside), wallet and small makeup case. There is also a netted compartment for random nicknacks, which is nice. The outermost vertical compartment is very shallow, don't count on putting much there. The small compartment on the inner most part of the backpack can easily hold an ipad in a padded case. The straps are comfortable and easy to adjust. As a college student I love it even though it can be a little frustrating space wise sometimes since it doesn't have much room to "stretch." Google or YouTube this backpack to see a live demonstration of someone loading this thing up to get an idea of how much it can hold, that's how I made my decision.

I'm a college student and I love this bag! It keeps me organized but it's cool enough my friends want one too. The front pocket is great for stashing keys and my phone for easy in/out access. The next pocket back has a place for pens and such as well as a pocket to store things like post-it notes and my calculator. The third pocket is deep and expands well to hold 3 to 4 binders and text books. There's a laptop pouch that barely holds my 17" laptop but fits my 15" ultrabook great! Finally on the back there's a pocket were I can slip in things or I use it to hold my iPod so I can walk and not get my ear buds tangled up. I will definitely buy another.

Got this bag for the wife for school and it fits her 15" HP laptop nicely in the fleece pouch. Awesome DaKine quality as always.. none better. My only beef is that compared to all the other DaKine packs that I've owned, the other pouches don't seem to be as intuitively useful/well placed/designed as others. Still a great and super high quality backpack with laptop carrying capability.

I like the backpack. I put alot of stuff in it and it can hold alot. I like the pockets and how some of them are lined. I'm not using this for school, but for light travelling. I don't like checking in luggage so I put all my clothes in my backpack and this works! Definitely more durable than my other old backpacks. I hope this lasts longer.

CHOU CHOU Changing Backpack

CHOU CHOU Changing BackpackThis is a sweet diaper bag for the Chou Chou doll or really any doll. It contains one diaper, a changing pad, pretend lotion, pretend cream, and pretend powder. And as my title states, you carry it over one shoulder. I gave it five stars for educational value as it promotes nurturing skills for the little mommy or daddy.

My four year old daughter received the changing backpack for Christmas along with the bouncy seat and feeding set. The backpack is very good quality, although I feel a bit pricey (but grandma bought it). She uses the changing pad as a doll blanket. The backpack fits the feeding set inside along with the other accessories. The best thing about it is she loves to change her doll's diaper and the blanket matches the bouncy seat. The two zippers on the backpack are very easy for her to use.

For the price I would have expected more in the way of accessories, maybe another little diaper. The fabric the bag is made from is cute, and cleans easily, and it's sewn well enough. I wish I had bought two when I found this on sale, because it immediately sparked a fight between my five and two year old girls. My advice, look for a sale to make the price closer to the value.

High Sierra Classic Series 59101 Col 35 Internal Frame Pack

High Sierra Classic Series 59101 Col 35 Internal Frame Pack Amazon, Pine, Charcoal 24.25x13.25x8.25 inches 2135 Cubic Inches 35 LitersIf you want something carry-on size, under weight restrictions, and portable; this bag is for you! Definitely great backpacking throughout England on planes, trains, and automobiles for a week and a half. If you tend to over-pack this bag is not for you. Also, if you have larger clothes then this may not be suitable. I am a short, small girl (5'1"-110lbs.), so this bag was nice as well with weight distribution. Took a little getting used to it and loading it right, but by the end of the trip I was able to swing this puppy over my shoulder as if it weighed less than 10lbs. (my pack probably weighed 30lbs.) The top-loading was somewhat hard to use in certain situations, but again, by the end of my trip I knew the best ways to pack it. Overall, love this pack and hope to take it on a longer stint throughout Europe later this year.

I bought this bag based on the reviews that everyone wrote about it being "sized" for a carry on, fits under an airplane seat, evenly distributes weight and packs a lot of stuff. After shuffling this bag across England, Germany, Spain and Switzerland, this is not true:

1. Fits under the seatIf you pack this bag to be even remotely full, it is too deep to fit under the seat. You could however, try to cram it in, put your foot over it and then your coat over your lap so the stewardess won't force you to check it.

2. Sized for some carry onsIt is ok for 8 out of 10 airplanes. Smaller airplanes will force you to check it and the bag needs to be placed horizontally to fit in the overhead (meaning it takes up a lot of room). I highly recommend you getting on the flight first to make sure you have enough space. Also, UNITED may force you to check this bag for domestic flights. This bag theoretically meets the size requirements but it just LOOKS huge. Beware.

3. Distributes WeightIf you pack this bag to be remotely heavy, you will hate yourself. It feels no different from any other backpack filled with heavy stuff. The internal frame does very little to make this tenable.

4. Packs a lot of stuffThis bag looks big but doesn't pack a lot. The most I've been able to fit is about a weekend of clothes (that I wore twice), toiletries and shoes. My friend had a purse that fit more than this bag. There are no side packets or any nooks and crannies to store most things. Things that are slightly wide are really hard to put in and take out (IE: laptop, papers, notebooks)... I tried to put a binder in to no avail.

5. Top loading is terribleIf you are backpacking across XYZ, imagine having to take EVERYTHING out of your bag to get a pair of shoes...now, imagine doing that again and again, spreading your stuff all over dirty hostels around the world.

6. It does not fit a sleeping bagUnless you ONLY want to fit a sleeping bag. The bottom compartment has a "rain shield" for the bag and thats really about all it fits.

This is a very good pack for a day hike if you are the dad carrying all the food and water for mom and the kids. I use it to carry all the water and a picnic for a long day hike (10+ miles). The pack is very comfortable carrying 20+lbs. It suits well on my hips and the straps are extremely comfortable the whole time. Definitely recommend.

Osprey Packs Syncro 20 Hydration Pack with Reservoir

Osprey Packs Syncro 20 Hydration Pack with ReservoirI bought this to replace my 2010 Camelbak Rim Runner. I needed a hydropack that is fully teched up for biking and also slick looking enough to work in a business setting. This year was a bad year for backpacks. I ordered this one after seeing a Syncro 10 in a store, and the Syncro 20 was mostly what I had guessed, but still disappointing.

One major disappointment is the hydration systems. The tube is not replaceable because it is covered by plastic and seemingly sealed at the bag end. But during shipping the folk at Amazon bent the hose so it's basically unusable. I can just slide my a camelbak system in there, but that's some money out the window because Osprey and Amazon aligned to produce an inferior system and break it before delivery.

The bag's back flow is its best feature. But the pockets, the cinch-straps, shoulder straps, sternum strap, and interior design are all lackluster and stupid in obvious (preventable) ways. I'm going to give it a try, and then decide whether to return it or not. But at best it's a compromise, and at worst it's a mistake to buy this pack.
