Victorinox Luggage Spectra Extra Capacity Carry-On Luggage

Victorinox Spectra Extra Capacity Carry On, Black Prism, One SizeI purchased this product in December and have used it for the past 2 1/2 months. I am impressed by the luggage except that with normal use I have had major scratches (with the paint removed) and an impression (dent) on one side.

I sent an email with pictures to Victorinox showing the damage and they stated it was not covered and that it was normal wear and tear. I would agree if the scratches were minor but the entire paint was removed.

So if you are purchasing this product because you like the exterior look don't because it will not remain looking that way.

Very disappointed with the warranty

Super lightweight and extremely easy to roll around at the airport in tight spaces. I don't know how I ever used a traditional pull-behind-me rollerboard suitcase now that I have this. Glides smoothly right alongside me while I'm walking or I can pull it behind me if I need to on unlevel curbs and surfaces. It holds more than it looks like it will. I fit everything for a 4 day business trip in here and when I closed it realized I could have easily put more in it.

Buy Victorinox Luggage Spectra Extra Capacity Carry-On Luggage Now

Took it on a week long trip to DC. Carried a suit and other clothes including a pair of shoes. Four wheeled case makes all the diffence while moving around the airport.

Con: cost too much. Could have bought other lesser four wheeled for half the cost. Is the Spectra really worth 2 1/2 bags of the other brand?

I did a review also for the 32 inch from the same line...

I bought this item since I was looking to replace my set of luggage and talking with a friend who know about this subject, he recommended to check out Victorinox and Rimowa for luggage that would last for an entire lifetime.

So I went and invest into some very good pieces of luggage, this 32 inch and the extra capacity carry on from the same line (Spectra), both on Victorinox red to match

I do travel a lot for business and pleasure, from Europe, to America, to the Middle East. Here are my impressions, will probably update my review once I have done a couple of more transatlantic trips.

Bigger than I thought (at least it looks bigger than I thought)

surprisingly light

nice not to have overcrowding of compartments just 2 in fact (front and back on the inside)

really liked the color, although it scratches easily (as expected), probably a better choice is the grey one so the scratches wont show up that much, but I like the tough look that it has taken

great tracking system, locking system

the handle is comfortable and the thing rolls trough the airport with MINIMAL effort no matter if its full

the material "deforms" since its very flexible, but I can see that this thing will hold up to tougher situations

mine hasn't had a dent on it, but that depends on the airport carriers I guess

overall I think i made a good INVESTMENT (cause it is really a lot of money for luggage), quite satisfied with my purchase, as always amazon delivers quickly, after a lot of research, the only better option that I can think are the Rimowa Aluminum line (heavier than this and WAY MORE expensive, think about thousands)

the only thing I am worried about is different carriers not accepting the bag as it may not fit their size standards, this is often over looked by the carriers, but in case it doesn't you would have to document it and kills the purpose of the carry-on luggage...

Skip Hop Zoo Pack Little Kid Backpack

Skip Hop Zoo Pack Little Kid Backpack, OwlThe backpack itself is adorable. I got it for my daughter who is in Kindergarten and she loves it. The only problem, and it is a significant one, is that it's not big enough to hold a single standard 8.5"x11" size folder. Which is quite disappointing for both of us. She really wants to wear it to school, but can't because her homework folder won't fit. If they would have made it just a couple of inches larger, the folder would fit perfectly and it would probably be the best backpack ever. That couple of inches difference makes it unusable for us.

If you don't need to fit anything in there that's as large as an unfolded sheet of standard size paper in there, I would recommend this backpack.

This bag is super cute and seems well-made but it is small... I bought it for preschool for my 4-year old but I would say it's more appropriate for a toddler sleepover bag or something along those lines. It is much too short to fit a folder and you'd have to fold up a piece of paper or art project to fit it inside. He loves it so I think I'll keep it but I might have to buy a different one for preschool. If I had bought it as a toddler carryabout bag I would have given it 5 stars for that purpose!

This backpack is so cute I can hardly stand it. But be warned that it is definitely a backpack made for toddlers, not really for school-age children. I use it mainly to cart around my 2 year-old son's toys and books in my car in case I need to keep him entertained somewhere but there is not a whole lot of room in the backpack.

I bought the dog backpack for my two year old son. He's about 35" tall and it's still slightly big for him, but at least it will last him a while. It's absolutely adorable and it's perfect for short trips. It holds a few diapers, some wipes, a toy and a snack with no problem. One of my favorite features is the cupholder on the side for sippy cups. I was initially a little worried about the material because it is so light in color. I figured it would be filthy in no time, but to my surprise, it wipes clean very easily. I looked at a lot of toddler backpacks before I bought this one and I'm happy with my purchase.

I love this cute little back pack. My son is 1 and we use it to carry his daily supplies back and forth to daycare and as a substitute diaper bag. He likes the bright colors and he knows it's his bag. We get lots of compliments on it where ever we go. It's the perfect size for a toddler and the straps are adjustable. It's sturdy and well made, and though it's on the small side, it holds just the right amount of stuff, (which for us is a lot since I'm an over-packer anyway). The name-tag inside didn't bleed and run when I wrote my son's name on it like most fabric tags do. The front pocket is great for the things you need more frequently like kleenux, and small toys, and it has a loop you can hook your keys onto. The side pouch is the perfect fit for a sippy cup. I so glad I got this; I just ordered the matching lunchbox and if I'm half as happy with it as I am with this backpack I'll be really pleased.

Two weeks after I posted this review, and after barely 2 months of use, the zipper for the main compartment broke. I was heartbroken. I searched everywhere for the receipt so I could call for a possible replacement, but no luck. I spent an hour trying to repair it, which to my amazement, I eventually did, but now I feel that it's fragile and I'm waiting for it to break again. So I wanted to add this warming. Do not over-pack and stretch the zipper, it's only plastic and will stretch and bend. Keep an eye on the teeth as you can see them separating and that is your warning of impending breakage.

I know this is made for little kids, but if I was the maker of this product I think that I would use a metal zipper for the main compartment as they are stronger and can take a lot more abuse than a plastic one.

I still love and would recommend this product, I'd just be a little more careful with it.

It's now been 9 months since I repaired the zipper and I haven't had a single problem with it since then. And, we LOVE the lunch box just as much as the backpack.

Osprey Packs Axis Daypack

Osprey Packs Axis DaypackI LOVE this backpack. It is just the right size for day hikes. The laptop sleeve and headphones opening in the top serve dual purpose by holding a 2L MSR dromedary for hiking, which is great (I hate the backpacks that only hold tiny camelbaks). Plus, when it's not holding water for a hikie, the laptop portion is large enough to hold my fairly massive laptop (Dell XPS 15z, which is thin and light but WIDE), and it stays well protected in spite of everything else I pack in.

I knocked one star off for the appearance (if it could have been a half star, I would have done a half star). In general, I LOVE the appearance. Perfect color and great size for my small 5'3" frame. My only complaint is the Osprey logo. The picture on amazon shows that the background for the logo is the same green as the backpack, but on mine it is black (same as the pictures for Ember Orange or Limestone on Amazon), which is kinda garish and ugly. Otherwise it is perfect.

So I bought this to use primarily as a business trip / travel pack to carry my tablet, portfolio, earbuds, jacket, charging cables, etc. ... you get it. I am really impressed with the layout and construction.

I appreciate having small items organized and separated and this pack has pen slots, a key clip and 4 zippered small pockets (3 outside, 1 inside). Additionally it has vertical dividers in the main compartment to keep a laptop and papers/notebook separate from one another and the rest of the main compartment (jacket and lunch for example). At the top of the forward-most slot there is a stretchy pocket for your iPhone or mp3 player with dual access out the top of the pack for your earbud wires and a hydration tube. It is also hydration ready (bladder not included), although I don't expect to use that capability for airport/airline travel as it will hit too much TSA static. Regarding using a hydration bladder, I wish the pack had a clip or loop on the top inside of the pack to 'hang' the bladder from. I'll probably fabricate something for that use when I use the pack for dayhikes.

No other small, lightwieght pack I looked for seemed to have all these features, and the pack seems to have been designed precisely for my intensions.

This is my first Osprey pack and the construction is absolutely first-rate... high quality, lightweight materials with thoughtful, professional construction. This pack will last and it doesn't weigh any more than it should. The attention to detail with details also impressed me. For example, the sternum strap buckle has an emergency whistle molded right into it. Not sure if or when I'll ever use it, but it's cool that the designers wanted to put all these extra touches into the pack. Those are clearly a matter of design choice that is contrary to and generally gets bull-dozed under to minimize manufacturing cost and unit price.

Kudos Osprey! Thanks for an outstanding, functional pack that is at a great price-point.

I got this pack for my partner and thus far she loves it! The two built in pockets inside the pack work equally well for notebooks, laptops, or a hydration pack. The little mesh hammock inside the main compartment is great for smaller items you don't want crushed on the way to your destination, or for anything that needs to be easy-access.

The only reason I bumped down a star is the exterior pockets: yes, you can fit small items in there, especially if they are rather flat, but if you have a few things in the main compartment getting anything out of the exterior pockets can be a chore; as the pressure from inside the pack compacts the exterior pocket space. It would almost be better to have exterior elastic pockets for water bottles instead of the zip-ups. Aside from this minor detail this pack is a great buy!

If you need a bag for your computer, some papers/magazines and a stash of lunch and/or some extra clothing this is a great bag. It holds letter sized papers/folders/magazines in a section just in front of the laptop sleeve. That helps with keeping them from getting wrinkled and makes them easy to find. High marks for comfort, usability, design and color. I don't have any use for the ice axe loop so I wish it was not there to get hung up on things. I wish the waist belt was removable for times I don't need it.

The Mariner Dry Bag Backpack - Yellow

The Mariner Dry Bag Backpack - YellowLOVE this bag. Having to kayak out and back to a boat mooring each time this bag gives the flexibility of hands free and dry transportation of its items. The size is great just fits the back perfectly and holds just enough. So happy with this bag everything that was tried before was cumbersome. This bag was definitely a great purchase from Amazon.

Kelly Moore Chapel - Hot Pink Camera CaseThis bag is great for packing my camera gear and personal items in only one bag. This bag was exactly as described and was delivered as stated. I recommend this backpack if you are wanting to pack only one bag.

Great bag! I wasn't sure if I should get the hot pink bag. I am not a pink person. But glad I did. A girl lugging tons of heavy lenses and eqpt needs to look feminine too.lol My only prob is at times it doesn't close securely enough with my camera and the lens on and battery compartment. No matter how I position my camera, it kinnda bulge on the top and I had to fight to pull the zipper up. And I am carrying a Canon T3i which is relatively smaller than the Mark Ds. Something to think about.

Bella Taylor Jazzberry Quilted Cotton Back Pack

Bella Taylor Jazzberry Quilted Cotton Back PackI needed a smallish back pack for my daughter for the couple of hours a week she spends in a Mothers Day Out programme. I wanted something girly and cute and love the Vera Bradley Book Bags. They are though rather expensive so at less than half the price I decided to try this Bella Taylor back pack in the Jazzbery. I'm very glad I did. It's just lovely, a nice bright, without being garish, pink paisley print. The size is also excellent, not too large but also not too small. I will be able to fit a change of clothes, wipes, 3 -4 diapers, small blanket and her lovey in easily.

The bag has a second fabric layer in the base that has a piece of plastic inside to give the bag some base rigidity. This can be removed when you want to launder the bag. I imagine, as with any quilted fabric bag, that it will loose a lot of it's stiffness after washing. As new it stands up as shown in the picture. The back straps are adjustable and it has a top fabric (same fabric as the bag) carry handle stitched to the rear. The zip & metal strap slider/adjusters are all in a gold colour which looks fine with this print. This bag is not lined but as the fabric is double sided and quilted it still looks finished and for the price I didn't expect it to be. It has one large slip pocket on the front & two small side ones but no inner pockets of any sort although it has a key keeper attached to one inner side wall. Quality wise I wouldn't put it on par with a Vera Bradley but it's still very good.

Dimensions wise it's only slightly shorter than a Vera Bradley Book Bag, at 12.5 inches it's two inches shorter. It's 10 inches wide and has a base depth the same as a Vera at 4.5 inches. For the money I think this bag is spot on and expect it to last well. But, I don't intend to put any real weight in this bag, if I did I think I would spend the money on a Vera as her bags really do stand up to some serious use and weight.

Gura Gear Kiboko 22L+ Backpack, Black

Gura Gear Kiboko 22L+ Backpack, BlackThis is a very good bag. I travel a lot and it fits well into overhead bins on planes. International travel has not been a problem for carry on. I like the carrying handles and the backpack straps tuck away nicely into the back while traveling. It's not tall enough to sit on my hips for serious backpacking, but if it were, it wouldn't be accepted as carry on for some flights. All in all a versatile and tough bag for carrying my 2 Canon bodies, 16-35, 24-70, 70-200mm lenses and other miscellaneous gear. If you fly KLM, be extra careful about the weight of the bag. KLM weighed everyone's carry on with a small scale just before I got on the flight. I was barely under the limit. Check the airlines carry on weight limits for any flight you take. Pants/clothes with big and plentiful pockets are helpful.

I received the Gura Gear Kiboko backpack 5 days after I ordered it. Both my wife and I were impressed from the moment it was removed from the shipping package. This backpack is extremely well constructed, including the material, the zippers, zipper pulls, and the layout. It has adjustable/removable partitions that hold firmly. It arrived the day before we went on our vacation, so I used it to pack the 15" laptop computer, DSLR camera, two lens, GPS unit, battery chargers, and a couple of other accessories. This Gura Gear unit surely packed up nicely, with each item quite easily accessible using the various zipped compartments and the partitioned areas. A note for travelers--this backpack is airplane compatible. It fit nicely in the overhead storage compartment.

Another important issue is comfort. Even with all the stuff I packed, it was still comfortable. It rode nicely on my back and the weight was also partially supported right below the small of my back. The wide straps were also convenient and comfortable. I would buy this item again and would also recommend it to my friends who want a quality backpack.

Bumble Bags Jessica Messenger Backpack

Bumble Bags Jessica Messenger Backpack Pink PaisleyI love my bag! I'm expecting my fifth child, and I've learned quite a bit about what I want in a diaper bag, and this fits the bill. It's very pretty and stylish, which I love, since I use it as my purse and diaper bag on a daily basis. The straps are versatile, I use it as a messenger bag, but the stroller straps are great too. Lots of pockets to keep my stuff separated from the kids and the baby's stuff, lots of room, without being too bulky.

i wonder it this is the "real" jessica bumble bag. i had bought this bag from another site and totally loved loved loved it. then i had ordered this from amazon at 1/2 of the price i paid at another site for my sister, but when she received it, it wasn't the same quality as mine. the bag felt flimsy, poor sewing/construction and poor hardware. it's definitely not the same as my previous bag that i had purchased from another site. so i wonder if i got a "fake" one fro 1/2 of the price. i knew it was too good to be true...

This is an older version of the Jessica bag. It is not the one currently in production from Bumble Bags. I purchased it, then returned it after receiving the package. There is only one magnetic snap to close the entire bag. It does not have the internal zipper, stroller straps, back zipper pocket or bottle holder pockets that are available on the updated models. Don't waste your money on this!

This bag is very pretty. I get lots of compliments on it. I love it for quick trips out and about. However, I've resorted to my old backpack to hold everything needed for the day at daycare. There is no zipper under the flap, closes with just one snap, but if you have even a little too much in there it will not snap and things can fall out! It was on crazy sale, so I do not regret having it and use it on the weekends, but if I'd paid full retail for it I'd probably be disappointed.

After seeing somebody with the petunia pickle bottom, I knew I needed a diaper bag that can convert into a backpack if needed. But when I found out the price, I just couldn't afford it so I was on the search for something similar. That's how I found this bag. I got it at a really good price and more than half of what the petunias cost. I love this bag. It fits everything and still small and compacted. I love that there is a separate section for the diapers and wipes and changing pad. I don't have to go thru all the other stuff to get to it. Which makes it easier to do with one hand if you need. I've used it for over 2 years and still great. I just recently had another baby and received the petunia bag as a gift and I just love this one so much more. It's not as stiff, not as heavy and just easier to carry. I used the petunia for 2 months and now i've switched back to my bumble. I just don't think I can ever part with this bag. Its definitely, my first love.

SwissGear Laptops backpack, knapsack, rucksackWhen I first ordered it I was worried that it wouldn't fit my 17" laptop, or would look different than the pictures. It fit my laptop with plenty of room to spare. It seems very tough. Also, it has a headphone jack that connects from the inside of the bag to the outside. TRENDnet Padded Backpack Carrying Case for 15.4 Inch Laptops TA-NC2 (Black with Sliver Accents)

TRENDnet Padded Backpack Carrying Case for 15.4 Inch Laptops TA-NC2I need to use this bag awhile to give a thorough review, but since there aren't any reviews so far, I thought I'd share some initial impressions. The good: outside appears sturdy to deal with commuting; nice clips and decent should pad on the strap; convenient outside pocket w/ 3 pen holders, a plastic carabiner clip and small pocket; backbackpack straps pack nicely into a zipped compartment; and inside size/padding are sufficient to hold 15.4 laptop and other electronic essentials. A plus is that a backpack strap or the shoulder strap can be clipped to carry as a messenger bag (left or right). I'm a long-distance commuter on public transportation, so my major disappointment is that the designers apparently failed to measure a typical water bottle. Both outside bottle holders are much too small, and I question whether the mesh will hold up. The inside pockets are made using a thinner fabric. Hard to say whether they'll rip and fray with use. As an FYI, I'm a 5'9" female and find the approx 16" height of the bag on the edge of being too tall to comfortably wear cross-body in front (my preferred for commuting). The thinner vertical profile is nice for wearing on the back, especially compared to bulkier backpack bags. The three stars is because the exterior bottle holders were the only reason for my purchase of this particular bag.

Targus Intersection Vertical Slipcase for 15.6 Inch Laptops (Black)TSS097US

Targus Intersection Vertical Slipcase for 15.6 Inch LaptopsTSS097USI don't buy laptop bags sight unseen, so I went to Staples, Office Depot, and Best Buy with my 10" Acer with 6 cell battery to see what would fit. Good thing because of all the bags that claimed to fit up to 10.2" screens, only two actually did. I could cram the netbook into a couple of others but they either didn't close or barely closed, and there wasn't room for the power supply, etc. Of the two that fit, this one most comfortably also held the power supply, cord, and my small mouse, plus there is also room for a slim notebook (the paper kind), a pen, and a small mousepad. In addition, this one has a shoulder strap and the other didn't.

One reviewer remarked on the lack of zipper over the netbook pocket. I agree a zipper would be a nice addition, but if it's raining hard enough for water to "pour into the bag," as the reviewer said, I doubt a zipper would be guaranteed protection on a bag that is not fully waterproof. But if water damage is a real worry, put the netbook in a sturdy plastic bag that fits and then put it in the case.

Based on two things I bought the bag from Best Buy, not Amazon: (1) people saying that they didn't get the right item, and (2) to be able to use it for a few days and ensure I really liked it, so I could return it easily if not. It was worth a few extra bucks to avoid the hassle of possibly having to return it to Amazon.

It's a handsome, lightweight, convenient bag. Great in all respects--EXCEPT for the fact that there is no zipper to close the compartment where the netbook goes, there is just the top flap. If it rains, water will easily pour into the bag through both open ends of top flap. If there were just one zipper, this would be the perfect netbook bag.

I was at the local Best Buy and saw the TSM097US for $30. It was the perfect Netbook bag that I was looking for so I quickly checked Amazon on my iPhone and saw the same model for only $12.90 so I purchased it from Amazon.com instead.

I received the shipment and instead of it being the TSM097US it was the TSS097US which is a large laptop sleeve.

I knew $12 for this nice bag was too good to be true however the product model # and photo on Amazon.com matched.

So chances are if you're ordering the TSM097US for $12 you won't be receiving what you're expecting.

This order was from ANTOnline.

Ogio Pagoda M Laptop/Tablet Messenger Bag

Ogio Pagoda M Laptop/Tablet Messenger BagOGIO has made an appealing bag with the Pagoda M, but a bag that is only decent or a little better than decent at best in terms of comfort. The bag is made very well but lacks a good feel to go with it. The Pagoda M also is much larger than I had expected, albeit the extra space might appeal to some. I'll go into detail given these initial thoughts.

APPEARANCE

Though made with all synthetic materials, the bag very convincingly gives the impression of being made from fabric. The outside flap as well as the interior of the bag is well-padded and would seem to be able to handle a lot of weight without any issue. The cereal color is modern and elegant. But, the size of the bag was an issue for me. Thought marketed as a 15" laptop bag, the bag looks like it very easily hold a 17" laptop plus a ton of extra things in the main compartment. If you're looking for a large bag, then the Pagoda M would suit you. It's certainly too large to be considered a medium one.

FUNCTIONALITY

The well-padded, numerous pockets provide a lot of space to stuff things into. I'm a big fan of the outside beverage holder which easily stretches to accommodate even thermoses. The outside, easy-access pocket is also a nice feature, but not as easy to get into in real life. But, my main qualms with the bag are its carrying features. Though it's marketed as being able to carried over one shoulder on one side of the body, it cannot be carried this way. It can be carried with the strap over the chest, but not very comfortably in my opinion. The main padding of the chest strap doesn't rest on anything when carried messenger style, defeating the purpose of the padding. Another reviewer mentioned the balance issue with the bag not staying upright when carried, and I agree with this comment. The position of the top carrying handle, being where it is, also creates a balance problem where the top of the bag tilts outwards.

All in all, the bag is made well, but just isn't very ergonomic. It'll protect your laptop, tablet, and other belongings great; but when it comes to carrying all those things, I wouldn't say you'd be able to do it comfortably.

I had high hopes for this bag based on my experiences with a number of other Ogio bags and sports gear. Unfortunately, after a moth it has been very disappointing.

I commute in NYC using an Ogio Renegade RSS backpack, which is a great, if large bag. With the Citibike program I have started to cycle the 5 miles to work and wanted a messenger style bag. This looked to fit the bill and spec wise it would seem to but the design is so flawed I cannot believe Ogio can put their name on it.

First the strap. It is comfortable and designed allow quick changes to length. The problem it slips at the slightest provocation while wearing and if you lift the bag by the strap is will suddenly slip meaning you have to readjust it again. This is the most frustrating thing about the bag. Also, as others have noted, the only position the bag is comfortable is when as a messenger cross-back. Using as a shoulder bag it hangs at and angle and digs into your hip as the straps connect about a third of the way down the back of the bag. Additionally, if your a lefty, this bag won't work at all. The strap has to be across the left shoulder.

Next, the computer slot is on the back and closed by zips that are not weatherproof. It is not protected by the main cover at all. While walking home in a recent rainstorm the compartment got damp, which for electronics is obviously not a good thing. I do appreciate the TSA friendly aspect. The bag can be 'split' by undoing a zip that goes around the bag so that the computer compartment can be laid flat separately from the main part of the bag.

There are a number of other annoying things about the bag; the pocket on the cover designed for a phone or media player has a vertical zip which when opened the contents tend to fall out. The key-chain is too short, has very small cleat, and is the same color as the bag (black) so impossible to find. There's minimal internal organization in the main compartment -no where to put papers. The mesh water holder is too small and not deep enough for anything other that small bottles.

A note on the Ogio website and packing documentation for this bag it is awful. The strap is not intuitive and main features require some explanation, none of which will be found on Ogio.com.

The recommended computer size is 13 inch. My Macbook Pro Retina 13 slides around in the compartment which is clearly for a 15 inch. The bag is large, and when worn messenger style is wider than my body width (I'm 5ft 7inch 170lbs) by about 3 inches either side, which means a get fouled on subway turnstiles, which is frustrating.

Overall, the construction and build quality is what you would expect from Ogio, however the design is so flawed and practicality almost non-existent. If I hadn't foolishly discarded the packing material I would have returned this

It is a beautiful bag, and seems to be well made, but for those who do not plan to carry the bag "bike messenger style" across the middle of your back, the strap and the handle are positioned so the bag always tilts forward instead of remaining upright. The shoulder strap does not allow for carrying the bag on one shoulder (not across your chest). I thought there was an alternate shoulder strap that came with it, but perhaps that is only for the smallest bag? This was the best looking bag I've found, so I'm really disappointed that I had to return it.

Regarding the laptop pocket size... I tried the large bag (L) first but that bag was huge! (This bag appears especially large, I think, because of the way it flares out at the top.) The medium size (M) just barely fit my 17" MacBook Pro. It was a tight squeeze, but comfortable and felt well protected.

This bag works, is very functional and innocuous enough cosmetically. After all, you don't want a flashing light to advertise that this is the bag that contains all your valuables.

PRROs:

Roomy, with compartments designed specifically for a laptop and another for an iPad or other slim tablet computer.

A comfortable, wide carrying strap that allows you to carry the bag in at least three modes. You can invent more if you like, I guess.

Inside and outside pockets for cell phones, cords, and miscellaneous gadgetry so necessary to modern life.

Easily adjustable nylon snap closures that allow the flap to be snugly cinched closed with one hand and quickly popped open, also with one hand.

CONs:

An included feature, allegedly a one-handed adjustment for the shoulder strap, that I can't get to work even after two months of trying and calls to Ogio customer service. It'd be nice if this worked.

An extension of the above con: no instructions are included on these features, either packed with the bag or on the website, to illustrate the bag's features. The video on the website is intended to market the bag --it does an adequate job for this -but goes nowhere to guide the new owner in operation of the bag's numerous features.

I've used this bag on two recent trips. On one trip, a three-day drive to southern Florida from upstate New York, the bag held all my basic clothing needs along with toiletries and electronics. Would I buy it again? SureI would.

Condor 3 Day Assault Pack

Condor 3 Day Assault PackFor my Full Video Review and Demonstration of the assault pack on YouTube, search "condor 3-day assault pack BOB". It should come up #1.

The Condor 3-Day Assault Pack is a pretty large 3038 cubic inch or 50 liter internal frame pack, with 7 generous compartments and a ton of pockets, pouches and tie downs to keep things organized.

This pack is made out of 1000-Denier, water and wear resistant nylon which is regarded as one of the most rugged backpack shell materials.

~NOW LETS TALK ABOUT THE SHOULDER STRAPS:

Comfort is key when selecting a pack that COULD be strapped on your back for days, and maybe weeks....

At their widest point the shoulder straps are about 3 1/2 inches or 8 1/4 centimeters wide and the padding is nearly 3/4 or an inch or 1.8 centimeters thick...so these straps are not likely to cut into your shoulders.

The front of the straps are designed with a multitude of gear carrying options including: horizontal clip on straps, D Rings and vertical MOLLE webbing.

As the Shoulder straps begin to taper and contour we have a chest or sternum strap.

The sternum strap helps prevent your shoulders from being pulled back from the pack weight, they also keep the shoulder straps from shifting around and generally help kept the pack load distributed properly.

I really like that the sternum strap is adjustable both up and down AND side to side to match a wide variety of body sizes.

Now on the back of the pack we have about a quarter inch of padding and on top of this padding we have 4 strategically placed padded areas that are raised nearly 3/8ths of an inch or about 9.5 millimeters...

And we have a pretty serious lumbar pad that is raised nearly 3/4 of an inch or 20 millimeters which is part of the hip belt assembly.

All of these pads are double stitched for strength and covered in a finer weave of nylon that repels moisture and sweat and stays pretty dry.

The Condor 3-Day Assault Pack's serious padding and lumbar support make it very comfortable to wear... and these raised pads maintain a buffer zone of air flow between the pack and the back that really helps to keep perspiration down.

~HIP BELT:

Now this hip belt is about the most comfortable that I've worn. It secures firmly and adjusts using a strap that's 2 inches or 5 centimeters thick...

Hip belts are important for a larger bags that may be worn for extended periods (like a bug out bag) because they can transfer 80% to 90% of a pack's weight to your center of gravity reducing strain on your shoulder and back.

It's pretty amazing but the hip belt adjusts to waists from about 26 inches or 63 centimeters up to around 54 inches or 137 centimeters!

There's also an additional hip belt adjustment strap on each side, which allows you to make fine adjustments to the belt...

~POCKET FOR HYDRATION BLADDERS:

Okay... now on the back of the pack we have large zipper pocket that Condor says can fit up to 2 3 liter hydration bladders... The hydration bladders are secured in the pocket with two Velcro hangers toward the top.

And just in case a full bladder is damaged, there is a grommeted drainage hole in the bottom of this compartment so all your stuff in this pack doesn't get wet.

If you don't use this pocket for a hydration system... it's a great spot to pack some extra gear.

~DRAG/CARRY STRAPS:

Now as we work our way around toward the front of the pack, we have 3 drag or carry straps....one each on the top, right and left sides. The straps on mine are stitched multiple times and are made out of very heavy ballistic nylon so they should last. Very nice and tough.

~COMPRESSION STRAPS:

Between the side and tops drag handles on both the right and left sides we have good quality compression straps to tighten up your load and increase the stability of the pack.

~TIE DOWN STRAPS:

Adjacent to the top drag handle we have two short sections of sewn on strap that are great for clipping or tying gear to.

~MAIN COMPARTMENT:

Next we have the main compartment which is sealed with a heavy duty, water resistant zipper and a rain diverting flap.

I like how the double zippers open this entire compartment right up so that both sides lay flat. This design make it easy to quickly get to all of your gear inside...

The main compartment is around 13 x 20 x 10 inches or 2,600 cubic inches, and 33 x 50 x 25 centimeters which is around 40 liters.

Since I'm a bit of a neat freak, I love the way this main compartment is organized, and this whole pack for that matter with lots of pockets, straps and tie downs.

There are 4 ballistic nylon compression straps that can cross to secure your load in the main compartment.

Half of the compartment is perfect for your cloths and a compact sleeping bag or wool blanket with plenty of space to spare.

On the front side of this compartment there are two large mesh zipper pouches. I used the bottom one for a full sized towel and wash cloth, and the top one for my personal care and hygiene kit.

~MAP/RADIO COMPARTMENT:

Next we have a 10 x 14 inch or 25 x 36 centimeter pouch that is made for maps, journals, books, pens radios and the like.

Again, it opens and closes with double zipper pulls and has 3 separate and staggered nylon dividers for maps, books and papers.

Stitched on the front of the first divider we have pockets for 3 pens, and two radios or other stuff about radio size. This would probably be a good place to clip or keep small electronic devices like smart phones and stuff.

~FRONT COMPARTMENT:

Now we have the front compartment which would make a great junk drawer. It's about 11 x 12 inches or 28 x 30 centimeters and is pleated so that it can expand in depth an additional inch or so yet remain narrow in thickness when not packed full.

This might be a great spot for your survival and first aid kit, emergency radio some food items, paracord and stuff like that.

This front compartment only opens from the side with a single zipper pull. Which is fine.

Okay, check this out...

On front of this compartment on the outside of the pack, we have 6 rows of MOLLE webbing. As you can see in my YouTube review on this pack (search: "condor 3-day assault pack BOB"), this is AWESOME for hanging gear!

Under the first and second MOLLE straps we have two rows of velcro for attaching your tactical, emergency, or personal identification patches...or whatever else you want.

Now under the map and junk drawer compartments we have a 11 x 5 1/2 inch or 28 x 14 centimeter compartment that is about 3 1/4 inches or 8 centimeters deep...so this is a nice sized pouch at over 3 liters.

This compartment opens wide with 2 zipper pulls and has essentially 5 separate storage spaces. There are 3 mesh pouches with elastic openings, a main center area, and one large mesh pocket with a zipper closure.

This would be a great pouch for food and cooking stuff, ropes or whatever you want.

On the front of this pouch we also have 2 rows of MOLLE straps for attaching more gear.

~NOW LETS TALK A LITTLE MORE ABOUT THE SIDE POCKETS of the Condor 3-Day Assault backpack:

On each side of the pack we have a 9 x 5 x 2 1/2 inch or 23 x 13 x 6.5 centimeter compartment. Each of these compartments opens up wide due to the double zipper pulls... which is nice.

A 1 liter bottle fits comfortably in these pockets and because they are convenient and quick to access, they are a great place to store rain gear, water purification, cooking gear, or stuff like gloves or an extra pair of socks... you get the picture. Basically, anything you might need to get at quickly.

On the front of each of these compartments are 4 more rows of MOLLE strapping... Are you getting the idea that this is a great pack for the ultimate survival gear head?

Now wrapping from the bottom back of the pack, around the side compartments to the front, we have two more compression straps to adjust the load and keep things from shifting around.

~ON THE BOTTOM of the pack we have a series of drainage holes so that any water that might get into your pack will immediately drain out the bottom. So just to be perfectly clear, this pack is NOT water proof.

This pack does a good job shedding water due to the quality water resistant zippers with and the rain flaps over the main compartments... but if you take this pack for a swim, it's going to fill up with water.

So make sure you pack an extra 3 mil thick contractor bag to put your pack and sleeping gear in, just in case you have to cross a river or stream or get stuck in a huge down pour without a shelter.

One last thing about the bottom of this pack...

There are 4 ballistic nylon tie downs on the bottom of this pack that make it easy to strap on additional gear.

~OUR RATING:

We rate the Condor 3-Day Assault Pack at 5 out of 5 stars... for it's thoughtful design, the durability of materials, quality double stitching in most places, the excellent zippers and this bag's overall good craftsmanship.

We like that this pack holds a ton of gear at over 3000 cubic inches or 50 liters and has 7 main compartments.

And we love that everywhere you look on this pack there's a boat load of separate pockets, pouches, straps and tie downs to keep things stable and organized.

We appreciate the comfort of this pack even fully loaded and it's versatility to be sized for a very wide range of body sizes from about 5 foot 2 up to around 6 foot 6.

And the generous MOLLE webbing all around this pack is a real bonus and greatly extends your ability to customize this pack to suit your needs.

Plus the Condor 3-Day Assault Pack's sub $80 U.S. online street price (for all but the A-TACS version) sealed the deal on our 5 out of 5 star rating.

~SO WHO IS THE CONDOR 3-DAY ASSAULT PACK FOR?

Make no mistake, this Condor pack is a beast and should make a great pack for tactical, military, search and rescue, extreme adventures, any sort of extended camping, fishing, hunting excursions, it's perfect for a 72 hour bug out bag, a great grab and go emergency pack, travel bag and is more than suitable for anyone who wants a rugged, well designed and tough-as-nails pack, that is ready to stand up to whatever you throw at it. This pack might even survive a Zombie Apocalypse if Zombies were real.

All this being said, certainly the Condor 3-Day Assault Pack is not for everyone.

If you want a rugged smaller pack for day use, short weekend trips and adventures, a get home bag, or vehicle emergency kit, check out the equally tough and versatile Condor Mission Pack.

I was pretty worried about purchasing this bag because i had read some reviews about some quality issues that the manufacturer has had in the past, but I am so glad i took the chance. After using this bag on several hikes and camping trips, i am convinced that this has to be one of the best best values out there. This bag is solid and i would have no problem recomending it to a friend, in fact i just did recomend it to my brother-in-law last weekend. Tons of room for all my gear and ton of attachment points for molle gear or for just tying your tent or sleeping bag to it. This is a great bag, purchase with confidence

Here are my two cents regarding the Condor 3 Day Assault Pack (AKA Voodoo Tactical LRG Tobago Assault pack & Fox Tactical Advanced 3-Day Combat Pack).

Purchased this in black in March 2012. Needed a 'all purpose' pack. Pack began to fall apart 2nd time in use. Stitching came undone, seams seperated, zippers started to fail. This pack was not overstuffed when it failed. Biggest gripe are with the shoulder straps. Underside of straps need to be a better material as they slip/slide. At tightest setting straps would not be 'snug' enough. Sternum strap is placed too low, even at its highest placement on straps. To my understanding this is the exact same pack that Voodoo Tactical and Fox Tactical sell as well. It all comes out of the same manufacturer overseas.

Pros: Large capacity, Multiple storage pockets, MOLLE/PALS compatible

Cons: Cheap zippers, Shoddy workmanship. Design flaws. Shoulder straps.

iCon BKPK731-BLK Nylon Notebook Backpack - Fits up to 15.6-inch (Black)

iCon BKPK731-BLK Nylon Notebook Backpack - Fits up to 15.6-inchThe very first day I used the backpack, it broke. The strap snapped while I was walking to class and it was just not a good product at all.

This is a very good product, I feel like it will last for a while. It has enough room for my laptop and a folder and small notebook. The only major drawback is that my computer is exactly 15.6 inches, and I have to pull the back of the backpack over it to get it fully inside. Other than that its great!

I just received this bag as a gift and I really like it. It is a super simple, light bag that fits my Macbook Pro perfectly...there is a nice padded area for the laptop and it is padded all around even on the back and bottom of the bag to help protect the laptop. I previously had a Swiss gear laptop bag...liked that one too, but it was pretty large and heavy even with nothing in it...and generally the more space to store stuff, the more stuff you store that you don't really need to be carrying around all day. This Icon bag is all about simple...a place for my laptop, a large area next to the laptop for papers/books/magazines and then a small front storage area. Perfect for a basic bag. Keeps me from carrying a bunch of stuff I don't really need. Also looks nice b/c is is just simple black. The only thing that would make it even more perfect would be if it had a place to hold a water bottle.

This backpack fits my 15.6" laptop fine. It's snug, but doesn't require anything special to be done. Simply put the laptop in the back of the bag, put my charger in the bag as well and go.

Recommend, especially for the price.

I like this as a minimal pack that's comfy for hauling my laptop. It has just a little padding to protect the laptop, about the same as other bags. I added some stiff foam at the bottom in case I set the bag down too hard.

My 15.6in laptop weighs 5 lbs and my old bag was always slipping when I used it on one shoulder. This one stays in place much better.

There's room for maybe two three ring binders in the main pocket when I've got the laptop in it. I don't carry a lot of stuff so this pack works great for me.
