Clark & Mayfield Irvington Bowler Vintage Leather 15.6" Laptop Tote

I have owned this bag for 1 month and have used it every day. The bag has already shown some large signs of wear and tear, the leather is fading and shows cracks and the top does droop after the laptop is put in it and it appears to look caved in. This was NOT worth the $180 I paid for it and am disappointed with the quality. I will most likely have to replace this soon as I use it for business and it looks too worn. Very unhappy with the quality.

I've been using this bag for a couple of weeks. I am glad I got it, and will happily keep it, but it's not perfect.

-I love the organizational sections. pockets & etc. This is a real improvement for me. These pictures don't know the pockets inside the little front section, which are also useful.

-I also like the handle. It's short enough that I can hold it with my hand, long enough that I can put it over my shoulder (at least during summer, without heavy coats) and in-between enough that I can drape in on my front arm. The long strap is also useful, of course.

-I just flew with it the first time. The baggage strap worked nicely, and it fit under the seat in front of me (sideways), and I was in a window seat, that didn't have the full foot-area width! I wasn't sure this would work, so this is good.

Why wasn't I sure? This brings up the first provision:

-The bag is definitely taller than anything I'm putting in it. I wish it were shorter. Or, I wish there were two verticle rows of inside pockets so I could use the full height for things like cords and the like, instead of them building up width. (I'm not sure I'd want the pockets deeper for usual use--it would've been useful during the flight, but I think that would be too much for everyday use.)

-The bag is also deep! Note the dimensions.

-The leather is very soft, which is nice. It also means the bag isn't quite as structured as the pictures look. Since I don't have the top of the bag as full as the bottom 2/3s, I have been noticing the top, which it's sewn-in corners, squooshing in as I carry it.

-The (black) leather finish is already starting to show some wear, especially around the top corners. It doesn't look damaged, but I think I'm going to have to polish this somewhat regularly if I don't want it to look worn. It is also showing a tendency to look a little.. flaky? Not a lot. It's in a way that I think is consistent with the pictures.

The last thing is not unique to this bag: laptop sections in briefcase bags are way too wide! Okay, I now have a 13" Macbook Air (which works nicely in here), which is particularly narrow. But even with a regular Mac laptop, these are just so wide that they are useless as sections meant to hold in/protect laptops. For that reason, I always use some variety of a padded sleeve-type laptop cover. (For instance, I use this, Acme Skinny Sleeve for 13" MacBook Air Purple AM00919, in black, which works really nicely,)

The leather on this bag is very soft and buttery we'll have to see how well it holds up. There is plenty of room and organization inside with all the pockets and compartments. I'm short (5'3) but can carry this easily. All in all a classy bag!

Bag arrived very quickly. The laptop sleeve fit my 13" HP laptop with plenty of room to spare. There are 3 pockets inside the bag that each fit a cord perfectly (power cord, ethernet, etc.). There is a slot for my badge, cell phone, wallet, keys, and pens, and a zipper pocket for small items. The space inside is big enough for papers, my lunch, and other items I may need. Finally, I love the bowler look. It is cross-generational. I am 27 years old and it matches my style beautifully. The red is gorgeous, slightly deeper than bright red. The straps are comfortable with an overcoat. I love carrying this bag to work, and carrying out afterwards if I go to happy hours or shopping.

Dakine 26-Litre Hana Pack

The plaid is more of a turquoise and brown than it looks on my computer. The interior is a very bright medium turquoise color. This is a solidly built small pack. I use it every weekday toting my essentials to and from my job. I have had it for a few months and it shows NO signs of wear. This is not the right pack for someone who wants frills or interior organization-there are no little sleeves to hold your pens or pencils, no little key ring, nothing. It does have 2 exterior zippered pockets-an upper smaller one with a lightweight fleece lining for sunglasses and a larger one beneath that easily holds my large-ish cellphone, my ipod in a plastic box, keys, tissues and other small bits and pieces. The larger main compartment has two zippers with matching fabric pulls and easily holds a small purse, a lightweight sweater, a tablet or kindle and still has room leftover.

I am in love with this backpack. I'm able to carry my laptop and my binder just fine. its not over cluttered and i am able to organize everything great. five thumbs up!

This is a wonderful backpack. It's made of a sturdy material that doesn't rip. It'll hold 3 college textbooks and a laptop in the main compartment, although it is a tight fit (and that is my ONLY complaint, I wish the main pocket was larger). The "lined sunglasses pocket" is great for storing anything small enough you don't want to toss it in either larger pocket or the two water bottle holders (I store pencils and my phone in it during class).

High Sierra Freewheel Wheeled Book Bag Backpack

I bought this backpack for my 14 year old son who walks a mile to and from school daily. However, due to the amount of textbooks that he drags around, I thought this one would suit him well based on the reviews. He was having back problems from carrying the backpack on his shoulders everyday.

Unfortunately, this backpack didn't hold up as well as I thought it would. The screws of the handle fell off so the top of the handle came off. I had to find some replacement screws which was not an easy task. About 3 weeks later, the entire handle just snapped off which defeated the purpose of my spending the amount of money that I did.

I am quite disappointed as he only used this backpack for about 4 months so in a sense, it wasn't worth the amount of money spent.

This is exactly the backpack/airport roller I was looking for to support me during a recent trip to Central Asia which is not exactly the easiest place to travel through. However, this little gem helped me through the entire way!

At first I was a bit concerned because one of the zipper pulls was broken. Amazon quickly sent me a replacement backpack though, and I attribute the flaw to random bad luck, because all of the other zipper pulls seem quite resilient.

This backpack rolls smoothly through the airport. The wheels are well balanced and smooth, and the backpack is sturdy enough to accommodate a heavy load while rolling (without scraping the ground). It has space for everything you need including a nice space for a laptop which can be easily removed and replaced while going through security. It held up like a rock in the airport!

The second test of this backpack is how it performed as a daypack while touring around Central Asia. Bottom line it was perfect. While it is slightly more awkward and a bit heavier than some daypacks due to the wheels and its sturdy construct with an extendable handle for rolling, it proved easy to lug around on my back with all the items I would need throughout a day of touring on foot. It breathed nicely between my back and the pack itself. It was easy to put on and take off. And the great thing is that if I ever wanted to stop carrying the load on my back, I could hold it by the handle, or simply roll it along.

I recently purchased this product because I had approximately 40 pounds of books and such to lug around. There is plenty of space it rolls easily and stands upright without feeling like it wants to tip over. I definately helps instead of messing up your shoulders trudging a ton of stuff around. The front pockets are a little tight but very manageable. It has everything i want or thought I did BUT. I have been using this product for about 2 months. Maybe this is nit picking but the wheels which seem sturdy, are made of hard plastic and they are LOUD on the pavement. It just gets louder and louder to you everyday. It is cute, really cute, but the product in the picture shows the inside of the back pack as gingham, that isn't what we got. Ours was just black on the inside. Its not big enough for all of my daughters books. So, while its a Large, its not that big. If you are looking for something for a 3rd or 4th grader its perfect. Not for a 6th grader. Targus Military Messenger Case Designed to Protect 16-Inch Widescreen Laptops TSM10901US (Dusty Gre

This backpack works really good as a laptop carrier, and you could also carry the cords, etc, but it's not nearly as big as it looks in the photo. In the photo it looks as if it could double as a school backpack, and it couldn't. That's not a drawback for *me*, but I just want to make that clear to a potential buyer. Aside from that, it's very well made, sturdy, and comfortable. It's also a nice alternative to the all too common messenger bag if that's not your style.

I've had this laptop backpack for 3 months now. I own two other laptop backpacks and since I've had this one I've never wanted to go back to using them.

This backpack is surprisingly comfortable. The shoulder straps aren't bulky, but they are slightly padded and adjustable in length at the bottom and in depth at the top. The laptop compartment sits next to the wearer's back and is padded with breathable mesh padding in a way that both protects the laptop and makes the backpack comfortable to wear. I haven't gotten sticky back, where sweat from your back makes your shirt stick to you after taking off a backpack, while wearing it.

The build quality is uncompromising. The zippers are sturdy and in 3 months of daily use have snagged exactly 0 times. It looks exactly like the day I got it. No loose stitches, no signs of wear, no signs of fatigue. The laptop pocket is separate from the other pockets, so you don't have to worry about mayo from your lunch getting in your keyboard. That pocket is padded on both sides to protect the laptop from other things in the bag and from the outside world. The non-laptop pockets are two layer material. Outside is a durable almost rubberized material that seems very water resistant, along with reinforcements in key areas of nylon webbing. Inside the pockets are lined with a thinner non-rubbarized nylon that also seems quite sturdy.

Another comparison point is an Osprey daypack I use when hiking outdoors without my laptop. Osprey makes packs that are guaranteed for life and charge accordingly. Both backpacks seem to use the same mesh padding on the back (the Targus laptop pack has additional padding behind that for the laptop). Both have the same material for the lining of the pockets. Both have similar quality zippers, though my Osprey zippers snag some due to how they are built in. The shell material in the Targus seems more water resistant and more durable.

Really the only downside I can find is that the yellow color lining the laptop pocket on the Dusty Green/Black and Yellow Accents model is not very attractive. But you only see that when you are opening the pocket to put a laptop in or out, so it's not that big of a deal to me.

Highly reccomended.

In the past, I've used Targus laptop backpacks that were basically backpack versions of the standard Targus laptop briefcase. They were optimized for carrying laptops and business papers, but they weren't very comfortable backpacks. I've also tried standard backpacks, but the lack of a dedicated laptop compartment was a drawback. To protect the laptop, I put my computer in a neoprene sleeve, which added weight, bulk, and hassle.

This Targus case is a nice hybrid. Overall, the design is very similar to a standard backpack, but it has a padded compartment with a microfiber covering on one side for the laptop. The design is very good for college students.

Here's a quick summary of what I like (+) and where there's room for improvement (-) ...

+ Dedicated, nicely padded laptop area, with microfiber lining on one side (you need to put the laptop in the case with the top cover on the microfiber side to get full anti-scuff protection, although the other side is basic nylon, which shouldn't be too bad on the laptop) -laptop compartment is very large (they say it handles a 16" laptop, but my 17" fits easily)

+ Nice, roomy backpack, with good-sized water bottle holders on both sides (large enough for refillable bottles), and easily accessible gadgets pouch

+ Looks like pretty heavy duty stitching, the fabric looks like it's probably waterproof, and the straps adjust easily

Shoulder strap padding is noticeably lighter/thinner than I'm used to for backpacks -this feels like it could be a problem when carrying heavy loads (I was surprised by this drawback, since my previous Targus packs have had beefy, well-padded straps)

The fabric is a thin, smooth, waterproof (I assume) material -it doesn't look/feel like it will wear as well as heavy duty ballistic nylon, but that's just a gut feeling for now (I'll have to use it for a few months to know for sure)

Overall: Decent general purpose backpack, although it doesn't feel to me like it has the quality of materials and number of features I'd expect for fifty dollars (the price at the time of this review). If you just want a good quality backpack, better and cheaper packs are widely available. If you want a dedicated, padded, lined compartment for your large laptop, though, Targus cases like this one are worth the extra dollars. Within the Targus line, I personally prefer their standard laptop backpacks over this "military" model -their standard packs have better fabrics and features for the price.

I received this bag for free from the Amazon Vine program. The bag has a somewhat "tactical" or military look, so I'm comparing it to other bags of a tactical or outdoor nature.

My first impression was that this is a low quality bag the material is not very thick or rugged, and the zippers and hardware in particular are of the cheap low quality type. Frankly, I'm surprised by all the high reviews, as this simply is not up to the quality standards of other tactical style backpacks, i.e. anything from Maxpedition, the more value based 5.11, or my personal favorite Blue Force Gear, or from other outdoorsy makers such as Patagonia.

While I wasn't overly impressed with the build quality of this bag, I decided to reserve judgment until I saw the price, as the brands I listed above, while of far superior quality, can also be quite pricey. Honestly based on the quality of this bag I was expecting it to cost $25 or so, and I was surprised to see it listed at over fifty dollars.

One thing I like about this bag is that it has two large compartments, as opposed to only one large one. I currently use this as my gym back, and the dual compartments allows me to keep my clean vs. dirty clothes separated.

Based on the overall quality vs. value, I give this item 3 stars, as it is still cheaper than other tactical backpacks. However, if you plan to purchase a bag that you will use for a long time and will potentially see some hard use, I think it the long run it would be better to pay more money for a bag that will last. I just don't think this bag is going to hold up to long term or hard use.

JanSport Spring Break Classics Series Daypack

This is your pretty average backapack. I bought it for school, and when it arrived I realized it was much smaller than I anticipated (which is really my fault for not checking the dimensions). If you need a backpack that is functional and will carry a decent amount of books, I reccommend this product. However, if you are trying to carry around a library for school, which is what I'm having to do, I would look for something a bit bigger.

I bought this exact bag in the beginning of my 9th grade year in 1999. No joke, this bag lasted me 11 years and if it wasn't stolen out of my car, probably another 11. It made it through high school, college and everything else I needed it for. I wasn't upset my iPod was stolen, or the $80 cash, I was mad that my bookbag was! I would recommend this to anyone and everyone. It will LAST you! Bought a new one today and I'm upset that it's gonna be 2021 before it's as comfortable as the old one :(

Well, let me start off by saing I am a mom of 3 school aged boys and one busy toddler. I purchased 11 Jansport backpacks and that was by no mistake.

My oldest son could use a mediocore book bag and make it last for a few years. My middle son, forget about it, he can go through 3 backpacks in one year. HUH, $20 here, $25 there, $20 again. One year, It looked as if my son had dragged his bookbag across the ground with his brothers skating on it, Or, lets say it looked as if it was tied under the bus with a watermelon in it and guess what it burned through the bag. YOu get the picture. This went on for 2 years. I wanted to make sure his next year wouldn't be the same. SO.... I thought, you want quality, and you don't want to pay an arm and a leg for it. HMMMM! $40 that's not bad, but will this bag last?

It's 2 months before the end of the school year, and I must say this backpack will last not just next year but for another 3 years to come. It looks brand new. I am so Proud of him, also myself for getting on the ball fast. The color of his is Hamster Brown, the material worried me because it doesn't seem like the same durable material like the older Jansport, Yet, it seems sturdy, able to take some damage and come out the winner. The straps are a little stiff at first but are quickly broken in, the back support is great and the simplicity of one front pocket and one big pocket makes it easy to locate items in your backpack. Being waterproof or atleast it seems to be, in the light rain, my kids books don't get wet. I couldn't ask for more in a bag.

My older son who isn't hard on bags is still taking care of his backpack and it looks marvelous. I'd say his could last another 5-6 years. The Color of his is Thai Pepper.

My little Man who is just a bud, also is great on bags, his backpack is looking marvelous as well at only 2 months left. Not a scratch or missing thread. His bag is Blue and Black and will last I am sure.

Being a Frugal MOM of four, I wanted a QUALITY bag that I was sure would last for more than one year. I remembered the quality bag I purchased for myself in HighSchool and Jansport was it's name. I feel blessed to be able to provide not only one of my boys with the same, but all of my boys with the name I love and trust on their backs. The other Bags, they are waiting for them. Hey I said I was frugal, I had coupons, so I stocked up. LOL!

A couple of things to be aware of when purchasing this backpack: it is smaller. The straps are also slightly more narrow and shorter than a typical "adult" sized backpack. Its really difficult to tell from some of the photos. Its slightly smaller than the LL Bean Original Book Pack ( @ 1404 cu in for the LL Bean) and the straps are smaller.

Ive uploaded two photos, one comparing the webbed straps on the Jansport (black) and the LL Bean Deluxe Bookpack (print) so you can see the size difference.

This pack is the perfect size for me. It'll carry all of my essentials, a pair of sunglasses, a pair of reading glasses (which I have to carry these days) and two cell phones. It'll also carry my flip camera and a few misc extras. I didnt want the next larger pack because I knew that one would be too big to carry around day to day for things like shopping and going to the grocery store.

I'm an average sized adult woman (about 5'8") but I don't think this pack would work for someone much taller than I am. I adjust the straps all the way out and it hangs a little lower than my middle back. It would be shorter on someone much taller. The padding is also closer to the top of my shoulder than under my arm, which I like actually.

It is too small for anything but the lower grades carrying a couple of books. but the quality is clearly Jansport, "awesome". Too bad, i own it and cannot use it.

I bought this bag to carry my roller derby gear in, and I just don't think it's going to be able to handle it. I would have expected a "sports bag" to be more durable-feeling, but the fabric feels quite flimsly, as do the zippers. It's very cute though, so I'm going to use it anyway...I just hope my skates don't fall through it after a week of use!

Not only is this bag adorable, but it's really practical, too. I love the side pocket that allows me to keep my shoes or makeup or hairdryer or whatever separate from the rest of my stuff. I recently bought this bag because I have to walk about 1/2 mile from a train station to and from work. I was tired of carring multiple bags to carry my daily things needed for work (purse, lunch, gym clothes, ang laptop). The chromebook has a full HDMI port and the cable in this kit is mini HDMI HDMI so it won't work. the Earphone is really good as well as the USB cable. I would have given it a 5 star if the HDMI cable would be compatible.

The service was excellent, the order was delayed a couple of days but that was because of the weather, other than that I had no problem. This is the best pair of earbuds I have had in awhile, I am looking to see if I can just order extra earbuds.FIVE STARS

The laptop sleeve fits my Samsung Chrome just fine!

The headphones aren't really good with loud music, but it has a mic (for phone calls.)

The chargers [2] (For phones, CD players, etc. are cool too. They fits most phones, except iPhones.)

I don't really like the Fish-bone wrapper? I'm just use to bundling my headphones in my pocket...

But overall, great!! (Recommend).

Marmot Crampon / Skin Pocket

Needed a second crampon bag for my new Petzels and rather than purchasing another Black Diamond bag, opted for the Marmot. So glad I did. It's easier to strap on, slightly larger with interior straps to tie down the crampons and with it's black color, quite attractive. I'd definitely buy another.

This is luggage that was clearly dreamed up by someone who travels. It features a smartly-designed double interior compartment which can be converted to a single compartment, if desired. In the bottom compartment, there's a movable shelf system, so that when your bag is upright, everything doesn't all get squooshed to the bottom. And because of the way it is constructed, the bag doesn't tip over when it's full. One nice added touch is the orange interior, a seemingly inconsequential detail, but it makes finding small/dark items a bit easier. Other features include:

* three zippered mesh pockets inside the bag (one in the upper compartment and two in the lower)

* three exterior pockets

* an expansion zipper which increases capacity by 1.5"

* four exterior compression straps to ensure the bag stays securely closed

* a built-in ID pocket

* a hide-away add-a-bag strap

* interior straps to secure items

* two handles at each end of the bag (in addition to the telescoping handle) for easy grabbing out of your trunk or off the baggage carousel

Overall, this is a tough, well-made, and thoughtfully-designed bag which comes with a lifetime warranty. All my luggage is now eBags only.

This bag is a great combination if a regular suitcase and a sophisticated wheeled travel duffel. I love the orange red color I selected--easy to see in the bag carousel and attractive to look at. It holds a lot and balances and carries well, and has the right amount if well-placed pockets. I like the hard back that protects it going up and down stairs, etc. It also has a video from ebags that was very convincing. the price I got from Amazon was cheaper than from ebags!

one trip out and the upper canvas lock broke. I am very disappointed in the bag and thought I was really getting a unique bag when I purchased this. I am a very frequent traveler.

The North Face Solaris 40 Backpack TNF Black

I have owned this version of the North Face backpack for several years. I found it to be a great product for use in both a college setting and also on some pretty rigorous trips (Egypt, Palestine, Haiti, etc).

Pros: SizeYou can fit lots of stuff in here.

Inner slip pocketthis works well for smaller laptops or a Camelbak. There is also a hole for the camel bak hose built in as well.

Outer pocketvery well designed with a larger outer pocket with lots of space for various items of different sizes.

Small outer pocket for smaller items.

Bottom compartmentthere is a bottom compartment with is accessible via its own zipper and separated from the main compartment by a fabric "shelf" which can be unhooked. This is great for all kinds of uses and allows you to get into the pack without going through everything in the main compartment.

Side mesh pockets and tie down straps great for everything from water bottles to camera tripods, to umbrellas. Plus, the tie-down straps tighten around them, holding items in place.

Verticool systemthe hard frame and mesh skeleton allow for some breathing and with the waist and chest straps make this a very useable and comfortable pack for serious day hiking.

Cons: Size This can be a very big pack if you fill it.

Laptopsthere is no padded laptop section. The inner sleeve was too small for my 15" Macbook. However, this can be remedied by just buying a soft sleeve for your laptop. I have carried my laptop all over Europe and elsewhere and never had it suffer.

If you are looking for a daypack that can serve you equally well in an academic or a field situation, this is great.

This backpack is rugged, and trendy. It could fit my 13" laptop (with its own protection sleeve) easily, and it will be able to fit a 15" as well. It has 1 main compartment which is spacious and it has access from another bottom zip which makes it really convenient to retrieve stuff that's packed at the bottom of the bag (great thinking from the makers). It has a water bag compartment, and straps for poles, making it a fantastic back pack for a day hike, and could even last for 2-3 days if you're a light packer. It is also versatile so can be used as a day pack for daily commute.

Port & Company Small Contrast Duffel. BG106

I shopped major department and sports stores for quite sometime looking for the perfect gym bag. Most bags I found were quite large and had a sports logo on the bag. I needed a much smaller bag and preferred one without a sports logo. I couldn't find what I was looking for so I turned to the internet and found the exact bag I was looking for. This bag will easily hold a toiletry bag, undergarments, gym clothes and shoes with extra room to spare. The side pocket will easily hold a wallet, cell phone, keys, ID cards or other small items. The netted pocket on the other end is perfect for holding small items as well. The material is lightweight and durable. The only other feature I would like to have had would be a pocket to hold my beverage bottle. This is an affordable bag and I would not hesitate to purchase it again. Highly recommend.

All I wanted was a smaller duffel bag that I could still fit a change of clothes, pair of shoes, and small hand weights in for gym class, but all I could find were huge ones or if they were smaller they were name brands and cost a fortune. So I finally found this one and am happy with it. It looks good, just simple with nice black and gray colors. And it holds everything perfect without being too bulky.

I bought this bag to throw my purse contents in when my husband and I go to Chicago. I was looking for something inexpensive but durable and needed something lightweight. This is perfect. It is not full sized and would actually be nice for a teenager (I'll probably donate it to my grand-daughter who is 10) but its a good bag for the money.

I even managed to put a pair of foldable headphones in it and i bought a foldable water bottle called Platypus thats just perfect for this kind of bag. My only gripe is the color options, i had to settle for love letter black because they didnt have just a normal black so now i got this bag with a bunch of teeny-bopperish scribble scrabble all over it. Allen Company Pagosa Day Pack (1600 Cubic Inch Capacity, Realtree Ap)

I bought this bag for duck hunting. I have since used it on short hunts with little to no walking and long hunts where we trek through flooded timber for over an hour. It is good for either type of hunt, but ideal for those hunts or hikes where you have to walk for a while. It is comfortable, straps easily adjust to whichever coat I wear. The mesh pocket on either side is just the right size to hold a single decoy (albeit a smaller one).

The only drawback to this particular pack is that there is a large zippered main compartment, a medium zippered front compartment, but no small compartment. My old bag had a perfect spot for chapstick, pocket knife, car keys, etc. A simple remedy for this particular pack is to keep these smaller loose items in a ziplock or container of some sort...then stow it away in the front pocket.

One of my friends commented on it yesterday. He liked the camo break-up pattern and noted that it blends well with surroundings and does not stand out.

Lastly, I like that it has an inner pocket and a velcro opening in the top to accept a rubber Camelback-style bladder. I have not used it for this yet, but the added pocket space inside also works well to organize contents.

All in all, a great buy! I look forward to using for years to come.

When I asked my nephew what he wanted for Christmas, one of his wishlist items was a camouflage backpack for hunting. After looking at several different brands and features, I decided on this one and crossed my fingers that it would be what he was hoping for.
