Absolutely love love love this bag. It has many little and larger pockets to keep all my "stuff" from being lumped together in the bottom, which I find to be a necessity. Quality of workmanship by this manufacturer is superb. Many patterns and styles to choose from, and accessory pieces. This is my second bag by Donna Sharp and I love both. I also have matching wallets that have lots of space for credit cards, bills, change and my checks. I highly recommend Donna Sharp products.

We bought this luggage for a two week vacation to Florida that involved ALOT of packing and driving and moving about (4 cities total). Being a well recognized name in luggage, I was still surprised when it arrived and I was able to feel the strength and durability of the cases. The large one expands the additional 2" which turned out to be VERY handy. Even though we didn't bring the whole set with (leaving the larger bathroom case due to luggage costs of the evil airlines!) we still had MORE than enough room to pack for two weeks for two people and still have enough extra space to pack in additional junk we bought for people along the trip. I did see some of the other reviews about the zipper and handle being cheap or breaking. We weren't exactly easy on our luggage and did not have this issue, however I did notice that the handle seemed a bit flimsy when fully extended, but everything held up great!Pro's:
Travel tote can double as a large bathroom bag and fits enough for two or more people easily.
The larger 26" rolling case is expandable by another 2", handy when you buy too many knick-knacks!
Strong bottom handles makes lifting into the car trunk a snap.
The adjustable locking handles on the 22 & 26" rolling cases have two height settings, good for people of different heights to easily pull along.
Add-on straps on the tops of the rolling bags allow you to put more luggage on wheels for easier walking with all your luggage.
Cons:
The add-on straps on the 22 and 26" roller suitcases are positioned a bit too far back, causing them to easily shift weight and flop over while walking if your not careful. (This could be how some other people managed to break theirs on their first use?)
The shoulder strap on the duffel was quite flimsy and not padded, causing it to be uncomfortable on your shoulder when fully packed.
So one year later and now the handles on BOTH of the suitcases have broken! One broke in the extended position (while at the airport no less!) and the other one wont extend at all anymore, effectively reducing their transportability to almost nil... Let me tell you that having to drag your suitcase by the strap while walking in a half bent position when returning from an exhausting trip is NOT FUN! It's even worse when the smaller suitcase decides to crap out while your dealing with the large one. The suitcases worked excellent while they did work. I even took the liner out of the inside to see if I could fix it and the entire handle assembly had cracked on the larger one. The smaller suitcase handle assembly is jammed in a half extended position with the little pop-up buttons that lock it into place no longer retracting when you push the handle button thing in to raise/lower the handle.
Essentially, these two issues have rendered both suitcases completely useless and we will now have to replace them. Very sad since they were so great when they had worked in the beginning. Because of this, I have changed my rating from 4 stars to 2. If you don't mind replacing your luggage every 1-2 years, it's a great deal... but if your looking for something to last awhile, look somewhere else.

I'm a college student so I thought this will be a good investment for my constant travels, but I guess I was wrong. Extremely disappointed in Samsonite for this. If you value your money, please don't buy it. If I could rate it a 0, I would.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this bag. I put ALL of my knitting needles, circular looms, Crochet hooks, and all that little stuff I need in it. I can even put TWO medium sized yarntainers in this thing and still have room for everything else I need for my knit and crochet projects. When I go away to my parents I take it with me and have everything I need to finish what I am working on, or even start a new project. Everything is in there. EVERYTHING. I wasn't too crazy about the color at first, but it doesn't show any dirt from when I went camping or took it out on the boat. It wipes clean sooooo easily. I don't take it everywhere with me, of course, only for major projects, or a long stay away from home, because it's so big. I suppose it could be used for other crafts as well. I also thought how nice it would be to put my quilting supplies in it and take it to quilting class. It would also be quite nice for embroidery, if you had the patience for that sort of thing. Most small (or smaller) photo backpacks are too small for a pro-size DSLR with a short zoom attached. This Tenba pack can carry a pro DSLR, a couple of lenses, a few filters/memory cards/whatever, and still have room for lunch. Great gift for a guy who works in construction. I filled the bag with all sorts of items that were included on the bridal registry (wipes, ointments, bottles, diapers) even some outfits and toys. I wasn't sure whether I would like this as much as I do. When we first looked at bags, I wanted a messenger type bag, strong, able to take abuse.What I got is something better. Lightweight, supple but resistant leather, plenty of pockets and space for "stuff" and good looking to boot. The "brown" has a hint of black/red in it that makes it acceptable as an accessory with black & grey.
The interior is well constructed, lined nicely, and just looks and feels classy.
GREAT product. I will buy from them again.

I just received this backpack and it is definitely worthy of its name. You can haul quite a lot! The main pocket is even bigger than I anticipated. This is great for when I travel. I think this will make a great weekend/short trip bag with plenty of space for an extra outfit or two, a pair of shoes, and toiletries along with my laptop (15.6" fits perfectly in the laptop pocket), kindle, and the other usual odds and ends.That being said, I loaded it up with about the average day-in-the-city load and the main pocket just seems cavernous. But the side load adjuster straps do help with that. The shoulder straps are comfortable and easy to get in and out of, even while heavily loaded. And the chest strap can slide up or down the shoulder straps for individualized placement and comfort.
So, it's comfortable and spacious with enough small helpful pockets for keeping little stuff easily accessible. In short, I love it! And with JanSport's history of excellent workmanship and lifetime guarantee I'm believing I'll continue to love it for many years.

Aquapac Pannier Backpack AQUA-790
I recommend this because it has been quick and robust as a pannier and comfortable as a backpack. I've taken this for a couple rides now and have no complaints so far.As a backpack, mostly I was worried that any of these convertible backpacks would be just a sac with straps, saggy or uncomfortable as a backpack. The waterproof material gives this some rigidity, it has a nice box shape, and the decent straps with chest strap keep it high and stable on my back.
As a pannier, it attaches quick to the pannier rack and clicks to lock on. It takes both hands and too many seconds to unclip and tuck the backpack straps, so instead I've been just clipping the chest strap through the loop of the top closure. So I can go from backpack to on the bike in seconds while I hold a cup of coffee. I also like that it is really waterproof, like you could dunk it, so I'll have no worries when I commute for 3 hours with a laptop and change of clothes, no matter how hard it rains.

The not as good:
-backpack straps are way too long

This is the best mounting system I've had for a pannier yet; it's similar to ortleib's mounts. It's completely waterproof; I've dunked it in Lake Michigan, and it floated. The fact that its a pannier/backpack combo that didn't require a bulky attachment for straps is *great*. However as a backpack, it mostly fails because there were just too many compromises in design. The straps are *way* too long, and can't be shortened without cutting strap material. Once I cut the straps, the bag is more comfortable as a backpack. The rivets which attach the pannier hardware put permanent dents in my soft laptop case, so I put a piece of corrugated cardboard in and crushed the corrugations over the rivet heads. Last, I had find a small pouch to organize small stuff that normally goes in a small external pocket of most backpacks/shoulderbags. Otherwise it becomes lost at the bottom of the bag. Even though the bag is not huge, the roll top system means it becomes *very* deep when you need something from the bottom.
Overall, it's *still* more comfortable to carry with a heavy load than a messenger style bag, or a pannier with a single shoulder strap. And the alternatives are either outrageously expensive or have larger design flaws, or both!
Ivar Pilot
I am in Medical Sales and the Ivar is my mobile office. The Ivar Pack weight loaded with my gear is around 20 pounds and I typically carry: a laptop; laptop, ipod & hotspot chargers; various brochures and medical equipment. The pack layout is conducive for easy access to a lot of different items and it has shown little wear after extensive use for the past 6 months. The build quality and adjust ability of the Ivar pack are excellent and I am pleased with product. When comparing the Ivar loaded with my gear to the same gear load in my Sierra Pack, the Ivar is about 80% better at distributing the load off of my lower back.
After nearly a year of use, the IVAR Pilot is still like-new. Quality wise, it's an incredible pack. Its fabrics are top notch. I've had no problems whatsoever.
The ergonomic (comfort) and organizational factors of the IVAR pack is what I truly appreciate most. All IVAR packs are built with internal shelves that evenly distribute weight. This is seriously a very comfortable backpack. And, I won't argue with the fact that the file-like design keeps me organized!

I bought my pack from a different vendor, but after owning an original Ivar, I thought they were pretty good. Not anymore.The Pilot offers lots of pockets for organizing and storage, but the mesh under the right strap tore away after 2 days use.
Glad I paid less for it, but not glad that I have to pack it up and ship it postage paid to California for 'Evaluation'.
I think I will stick with Jansport next time.
EDIT: See the comments from two users in San Francisco and another review, all posted on the same day within an hour, none with any other Amazon reviews listed, all conveniently from San Francisco (near Ivar's offices), who lambast me and extol the virtues of this product. Also see my response explaining my frustrations with a warranty claim.
Based on the shills here, my review is now one star. I will never again trust this company as they do not appear to be ethical. My pack will be for sale on **ay in a few weeks. I have had the Pilot for 2 years now and really have decided to toss this one to the side. The corner zippers have been nothing but problems since I first tried it out. The backpack if set on the bottom on the ground will eventually slide down and soon your bag will be on the ground laying flat. Again every zipper is difficult. Now I know why all the other pack manufactures have a curve to the way the zipper opens/closes. These zippers and the squaring concept DO NOT WORK.

Maxpedition Vulture-II Backpack
I'm an officer in a mountain town that bought one of these bad boys to double as my EDC and Bug-Out-Bag. First off, this bad is bomb-proof. Gotten snowed on, rained on, placed on wet ground (rubberized bottom is awsome and something I did not see on a lot of other bags of this nature), picked up, put down and thrown around daily. Each side rocks a Max rollypoly (with 32 nalgenes) and cocoon pouch and I also got other supplimentary pouches to pimp it out. The molle system is very handy especially when used with Max strap system. Oh, and the rubberized bottom and top of bag has molle webbing for easy tent and sleeping bag attachment. Tons of space, the picture makes the bag look smaller. Super comfortable straps too. The outter compartment also seems to be the only one on similar bags that can fit a standard metal work folder this is priceless for easy carry along with my gear. Only drawbacks I can see is that they are made overseas although the U.S. design is damn near flawless. I did not have hundreds of dollars to spend on something like Elberstock and now I'm so glad I did not. Hope the review helps.
I have actually just replaced this pack with a Spec-Ops THE pack for camping, and hiking purposes. The Spec-Ops pack is what i would consider true "milspec", for what thats worth, and its a difference that you pretty much have to see and feel to understand. I also have a review of that pack here on Amazon. Nevertheless...I am a fan of Maxpedition stuff, and i own and continue to buy their gear for every day carry situations. This is a great pack, but if you dont mind spending an extra $50 or so, there are better options for more mission specific packs...Try Eagle Industries, Spec Ops, or go crazy and check out Kifaru.

I have been shipping around for a Bug out Bag to carry my supplies for emergency situations and I needed to find a bag that was both affordable but spacious and resilient. I shopped around for a long while and I happened upon the Vulture II bag. I did my homework and from what I gathered it was a a very tough, spacious, and comfortable bag. It was, however, a little on the expensive end ($132 when I purchased it) so I was rather resistant to shelling out that much for a bag but over the course of a couple weeks it became clear that this is exactly the bag that I want.The bag has met and exceeded all my expectations. From pulling it out of its plastic covering you can tell immediately that this was one rugged bag, it felt indestructible. Opening it up it revealed PLENTY of space for whatever you could want. There is a pocket for a water bladder if that is what one wants but as another reviewer stated it fits a laptop perfectly if you are thinking of using the bag more domestically. The zippers are a bit stiff on the bag requiring a little work to close and open them but that is of no surprise considering how tough the bag is and that new bags naturally need to be broken in a little. The shoulder straps, with CORRECT fitting, are extremely comfortable and there are both chest and abdomen straps that really help offload some of the pull on the shoulders.
All in all, I would highly recommend this bag to whomever wishes for a reliable bug out bag, outdoors bag, etc. The bag is worth every penny and I suggest to anyone that, in this case, spending those extra couple of dollars will provide you with something that will outlast many other.

I have had the Vulture 3-Day Assault Pack for a few years and I love this pack. It is strong, solid and has plenty of room for your gear. The YKK #10 zippers are strong, dependable and can handle the abuse from a stuffed pack. The 1000-Denier water and abrasion resistant light-weight ballistic nylon fabric is very durable and there are enough MOLLE attachments to add gear. The backpack has a waist belt and chest belt for a comfortable load.The Vulture-II holds 2810 cubic inches of gear which should be plenty for about a 3 day trip. The main compartment is very large and holds a lot of gear. The main compartment has dual zippers so it can be opened up almost all the way so that getting to your gear is no problem. I am able to fit a bivy, sleeping bag, sleeping bag liner, Thermarest small pad, back pack rain cover and other items in the main compartment. This pack also has a front pouch and slip pocket to hold other essential items as well. It has a compartment for a 100 oz. hydration bladder for water. At 3 lbs, 8 oz. it is a bit on the heavy side but there is always a cost/benefit ratio with gear. This is not a ultralight pack but it will handle any abuse you can dish out and it will last for many years. I have used and abused this pack and it still looks brand new.
If you are looking for a pack that has plenty of room, is extremely durable, yet comfortable then this is your pack.

The Vulture 2 is an extremely rugged and versatile backpack. It is made of 1000 denier teflon coated fabric with a rubberized bottom which is water, dirt, and mud resistant. The entire pack is double stitched for added strength. It has about 2800 cubic inches of space and plenty of compartments for accessories. The shoulder straps are load bearing and adjustable for added comfort. It is also water bladder compatable, up to 100oz. Although I've only had this pack for a short amount of time, I've been able to get some good use out of it. I was pretty rough with it just to see how well it would do and I was not disappointed. I've owned many backpacks in my life, very expensive ones that I thought were good quality, but the Maxpedtion Vulture 2 is by far the best I've owned, in every way. OGIO Commuter Messenger
What I would have wanted to know before buying the Ogio Commuter:1) When using this bag as a backpack, the dirt from the wheels gets all over your back because there is no wheel cover.
2) The front lower pocket (which is gusseted) only has one zipper. I didn't know how much I relied on being able to zip compartments from both sides until I got this bag. Stuff also has a tendency to fall out.
3) There aren't nearly enough compartments for me, especially in the front, though I'm sure others find it's sufficient for their needs.
4) The top outer pocket is flocked, which is a lovely touch; electronics don't get scratched by the bag, but if you put more than one item in there, they'll scratch each other up as you move around. It would be nice if this pocket were further divided so that a cell phone could go in one side and iPod/camera/other small electronic device could go in the other.
5) This is a bright Pepto Bismal-pink bag. The downside to this is I look like a dork rolling this thing down the street (because I use this for school as well as travel.) Upside is no one ever mistakes this rolling Pepto bag for theirs at the luggage carousel.
6) It is a pain in the butt to use. There's a fabric panel at the back that is held on by a one small piece of velcro on each of three sides. Behind this panel are the backpack straps that never really fit behind the panel unless they are arranged just so; as I roll the bag around, the ends of the straps sometimes drag on the ground.
7) It comes with a slim little cushion that goes into the bottom of the built-in laptop sleeve, which is padded and large enough for a 17" Macbook Pro; my 13.3" Macbook swims in this pocket but that's a minor quibble. I'm dismayed that without this cushion, there's very little shock absorbency for your computer if the bag isn't handled gently because the laptop sleeve goes all the way to the bottom of the bag. Big design flaw in my opinion.
What I like about the OGIO Commuter:
1) It's SPACIOUS. With the help of two packing cubes, I was able go on a week-long vacation with room to spare using this bag.
2) The telescoping T-handle is long enough for us medium height folks (I'm 5'8".) I'm the slightest bit annoyed that it's a little too wide and because the handle is rubberized, it catches on my clothes. It's also a little wobbly.
3) It's small enough to carry onto a plane, though it will not fit under seats.
4) Has a little key clip in the lower front pocket, which is surprisingly (one with a velcro cover) that don't hold very much, and a pen loop.
Overall, it's a decent, functional bag, but there are just too many design flaws for me. I would not buy this bag again.

I am even more sure now that I would not ever buy this bag again. The plastic/vinyl coating on the inside of this backpack is crumbling off and gets into/onto all my stuff. It's not just a bit here and there, there is a significant amount of vinyl that's coming off and it no longer offers any protection against the rain. The only thing the Ogio Commuter has going for it is its storage capacity. This is my second Ogio purchase and both have been major disappointments. Never again.
The only small negative I would point out is that the strap/handle at the top of the backpack, while holding up for the month, is not large, and I am not sure how long the stitching would hold up if one were to pick it up constantly. There are no other handles or straps except for the one on the top.

Since purchasing this backpack in April 2010, I have used it as described above, i.e., now two trips to Europe. I also have taken the backpack on a couple of trips to Jamaica and to Cozumel, but in these instances its purpose was more for carrying on "stuff" onto the plane versus wheeling it around. On my recent trip to Jamaica, one of the wheels broke; it split down the middle into two halves of a wheel. This caused the backpack to roll much differently. On March 20 I called Ogio Customer Service about this and about repairing it. I was told that Ogio does not repair backpacks and does not even carry parts for them. The customer service agent did offer to connect me with the warranty service people at the company, but I declined her offer. I assumed that since the bag had been used for over two years and had been dragged over cobblestones in Europe off and on for a couple of these trips, normal wear and tear would apply and that it would not be covered by any warranty. I discount the trips to Jamaica and Cozumel (two trips to each country) because the only rolling in these cases was at airports, getting on and off planes, etc., i.e., no "rough work" involved.
What bothers me is that this was an $80+ backpack that worked for about two months, i.e., two one-month European trips. If I am asking too much of a backpack, then so be it. But for the wheel to break apart and to have no opportunity for the company to repair it leaves me searching and wondering. I have another trip coming up and will need a new backpack. I seriously wonder whether another Ogio is worth it.

In the past several days, I have communicated with Ogio's Warranty Department. I spoke with them at first by phone and then via several emails. After replying to their first email requesting some information about the bag, taking a couple of photos of the broken wheel, etc., Ogio agreed to replace the bag with a new one, which is a different model than the one I purchased originally. The main problem is that the replacement item is out of stock and will not be available until July. They will send me a new bag as soon as it is in stock. Unfortunately too, the replacement item is the only wheeled backpack sold currently by Ogio, so I had no other choice. But at least they took positive steps to deal with the situation.
