VISM by NcStar Tactical Back Pack

I ordered this backpack as it was the cheapest available tactical bag that did not get bad reviews. The pics are not so great on the product page, but here are a few things that you do not see on the product page:

zippered pouch at top of inside

pocket to slip in a camelback reservoir

feels like material is thick canvas-type material

shoulder straps are a tad thinner than I would have expected, but I have not had any issues thus far

this expands to a pretty sizable pack, you could fit enough to survive in here (not counting a tent) for a few days

I seriously doubt this is waterproof or water resistant by any means, but the material seems thick enough that a light rain or splash of water will not harm the items inside

All in all, I would buy this product again. If this does not hold up well, I will update this review.

This is the first bag I have ever purchased for the sole purpose as a bug out/get home bag ever.

The base reason I chose it was price. At $29 if it turned out that this item wouldn't live up to my standards, I could always order a Condor, or 5.11 3 day pack.

Secondly, I chose this bag because I wanted a bag with thick shoulder pads, chest strap, and waist strap that was adjustable. This pack certainly has that. The clasps are the plastic buckle types, but are beefy. The waist strap is 2.5" nylon webbing, while the chest strap is 1.5" nylon webbing.

As a large man (barrel chested 5'10") it some times is difficult to find something that fits my size. This pack, with 25lbs of weight, holds my gear, and even has room for more.

This pack has mole straps, all sorts of outside pockets, and would even allow me to strap on bedrolls, tarps, tents, or whatever I needed too with the side buckle tie downs.

I don't have the experience of time to season this review, but I was honestly surprised more people haven't purchased/reviewed this pack.

If you are budget conscious and looking for a bug out/get home pack, I can't see how you'd go wrong buying this bag. Your mileage may vary of course.

My daughter loves this unique backpack. It is plush fabric, yet still very durable. It is fun and different. We are nearly finished with the semester and it still looks almost perfect! It is also quite roomy without being bulky and huge.

Ape Case Compact Backpack for Digital SLR Cameras ACPRO1810W

i was looking for a med size bag...the big brother is very big..but very nice...this holds my mirrorless camera..plenty room..lots of protection...great price.recommend this

I settled on this backpack style camera case for my Canon D40 and accessories. I got the bag yesterday and my camera fit in nicely. The additional compartments seemed adequate for any additional lenses,etc., however; I would have liked more space for personal items in the front and side pockets but keep in mind that this is a "compact" case. Overall, it was attractive and the perfect size for me... not too big and bulky, and not too small, plus I liked the yellow interior. I also liked the extra security in the straps with clips on each side of the pack that secured the front flap to the sides. For me, it was an important safety feature in case of zipper failure. Though having the camera compartment located at the top of the bag seems like a more protected location than at the bottom of the bag, it made the bag top heavy and prone to falling over.

Anyway, I purchased this bag from "Amazon Warehouse Deals" for less than the "new" price. Amazon labeled the bag as used but in "like new" condition. I believe it was a bag that had been returned and was, in fact, unused. I was very pleased with the appearance, which looked brand spanking new inside and out. But, when I attempted to zip it closed, it didn't close. The zipper was defective and though it moved freely, the zipper kept opening up. This was my first experience with Amazon Marketplace and it probably will be my last. Like New items are supposed to be in like new condition and should have been thoroughly checked out by Amazon before re-selling it. Though the return postage was paid by Amazon, I had to re-package the bag, print out a packing slip and shipping label, then take it to the UPS store to return it, which was a bit of a hassle. I now have to wait an undetermined amount of time before I get my refund and that's a drawback too.

The bottom line is that this seemed like a nice bag but for the money you can find a better deal. I ended up ordering the Canon 200EG Deluxe Digital SLR Camera Backpack Case for $39.95. It is new and made by Canon so I figured I couldn't go wrong there. Since there are already 1,600+ reviews, with an average of 4 1/2 stars, I probably won't bother to write a review... unless the zipper is busted!

Samsonite Luggage Warwick Backpack

the backpack considers the demands of students well, has three layers, including pen bag, key bag, the book and laptop bag,also have bottle net.

I was very impressed by this Samsonite product. When I received the box it came in , I first thought the box was empty. I am 5' 11 inches tall and 175 lbs. This is so lightweight , that I can barely feel it on my back. Also, well padded on the straps , and the back. This is perfect for all day light hiking or using to take on a plane . The zippers are top notch quality . It folds up well also. The price is right, and I would recommend it to people who like style and quality , but also are looking for value. I am a woman who is not athletic and I take public transportation to work everyday with my laptop, lunch, and books in tow. This backpack definitely does the job.

Pros:

-Very lightweight, so the bag itself doesn't add much to your load

-Streamlined size best for crowded spaces and limits me from carrying a bulky load

-Decent design and padded straps make a good carrying experience

-Laptop sleeve easily fits my 14" laptop

-Side mesh pocket, top mini pocket, and two front zip pockets give good organization space

-Attractive color that is neutral but not as plain as black

Cons:

-There is light padding in the back, but none on bottom, so I have to be very careful not to plop down the bag and damage my laptop. This does NOT provide complete laptop protection

-Middle pocket has inner pockets for accessories and pens, but these are made of somewhat flimsy material and my things get mixed up easily

-Does not expand, so I do not recommend this for students or others who have to carry a lot of folders/books. At MOST I can fit my laptop, one textbook, one notebook, and my lunch. This bag is not built to carry that much and a bulky load will feel very heavy.

I order this bag to replace another Samsonite backpack I had been using as a daypack. This bag was a nice size but appeared to be cheaply made much lower quailty than the other bag I have. The fabric is thin and the bad is flimsy. In the end, I returned the bag.

Took with us on an extended trip to south america, to come with us on dive boats while scuba diving and keep our stuff dry. Our gear remained dry, but one of the side handles (not the pack straps) ripped the second day. The pack was not overfilled by any measure, so we were disappointed that bag had handles so flimsy.

I have had this product for two months. I commute by bicycle, and I use a BOB trailer. The dry bag has held up very good. I have been in very heavy rain and my clothes have stayed dry.The dry bag has held up very well through daily use.

I bought this bag, and the straps began falling off about a month after I began to use it. I was very upset and left a very negative review.

I'm very happy to amend this review to reflect the fact that Gear Out There got in touch with me to let me know that there was a batch of bags for which a manufacture's defect was identified. They sent me a free replacement.

I purchased this for canyoneering, but it only lasted one day.

The good:

It keeps belongings completely dry as advertised. I like that the straps adjust on both ends, top and bottom, to make for a more comfortable fit. While canyoneering in Zion NP, scuff marks were inevitable, but they were minor and it held up pretty well in that regard. Good price.

The bad:

I think in an attempt to keep the bag waterproof, the backpack straps are attached to the bag without any perforations, making the attachment weak. I did not overload the bag, yet one of the straps (upper left) began to rip from the bag after just a few hours of hiking. The rip slowly grew throughout the day and I was lucky to finish my hike without the strap detaching completely.

My suggestion is to find a way to attach the straps more securely. Maybe use perforations, then seal them well. I really like this bag, but need something more rugged.

Lewis N Clark Uncharted DryGear Day Pack (40-Litre)

I have received, and returned, two of these DryGear Day Packs now due to the same issue: open seams.

The first bag had a 2 inch open (i.e. not waterproof) seam where the outer pocket was welded to the main compartment. The second pack had a huge 5 inch open seam on the main compartment's side, guaranteeing flooding of everything you need to keep dry.

To me this looks like a manufacturing defect in addition to poor Quality Control as these bags should never have left the factory.

If for some reason you still decide to order one of these bags make sure to immediately check all seams.

This bag was a quality buy, though I wish it were a bit bigger. The dry zipper compartment actually works really well! I use this bag as my motorcycle travel bag in a rather wet and windy region so if you're looking for a nice day bag to keep your items dry from the weather, this is a good recommendation.

The zipper was fully closed when it arrived, but the zipper mechanism was in the center of the zipper (not at the top or the bottom where it should be). It broke soon after. It is comfortable with all of the padding but i only used it for a one day hike. I have a feeling that it would become very irritating on more than a one day trip.

Character JUSTIN BIEBER BACKPACK

I let my daughter pick out her backpack and she just had to have this one. School started in September and the lining between the front section and the main compartment completely ripped apart by October. She is a second grader with minimal books and items in her pack. The zippers have never sailed along smoothly. She still loves the picture on it which is actually bright and crisp, but the actual pack is so poorly made. It's a definite half-year survivor only.

I would not say use this for camping or school (it is not the most heavy duty bag). It works great for PJ's and Barbie dolls or a change of clothes. That is what my daughter uses it for.

I tried really hard to find a review or comments about this backpack because it had features that I really liked. I couldn't find any so I gave it a shot anyway. When it came in, I was very disappointed because it is tiny. I loved all of the features, particularly the places to put gear. If I could make it about 3 times bigger, then it would be exactly what I wanted. This would probably only fit comfortably on a 12 year old. I am not a very large guy, but I could not even wear the backpack over my shoulders and get it to close around my waist. If you are taking young kids skiing or hiking, then this would probably be a great pack. If you are an adult and want to be comfortable and fit much of anything in your pack, then definitely look elsewhere. I still gave it 5 stars because is really well designed, just for someone small.

Booq Boa Squeeze Backpack for 13-Inch to 17-Inch MacBook, Black/Red (BSQ-BLR)

I just got this bag in and I could not be more pleased. I had previously been carrying my stuff in one of those Swiss laptop backpacks which are nice but it was much bigger than what I needed. I have to keep my laptop on me at all times for work so lugging around a big heavy bag was getting to be annoying. The items that I keep in this bag are as follows: laptop, laptop power adapter and cord, Ipad, ipad adapter and cord, ethernet cable, wireless mouse (kind of a big one cause I use a trackball), two thumb drives, pens, pencils, a leatherman, extra stack of business cards, backup apple connector cable and headphones, 1 poly-pocket folder which I keep with my laptop in the pocket to transport any documents that I would need to stay wrinkle/ fold free. I especially like how my ipad fits in the sleeve connected to the front of the laptop pocket. The Ipad in the apple case + a protective padded sleeve are a perfect snug fit. Not much else will fit in this backpack but you have room for a magazine or a small notebook in the main pocket if you need. The bag is super high quality and I think the build quality is great. It's light and small and will easily fit under the seat on an airplane so no cramming your stuff into the overhead compartment where you cant get to it. I also like how my stuff stands out against the read and white interior of the bag so its easy to find. This is my first Booq product and the bag is small and would not have worked for me while in school (dont think I could get one text book in there) but it fits my needs perfectly and based on the quality of this bag I wouldn't hesitate to buy more Booq products if I had a need.

This is a great bag for trips to and from the office. I have to admit, at first glance I thought it was way too small. Even after filling it with my 15" MacBook Pro, power cable, phone charger, earbuds, random pens and office supplies, two notebooks, a couple of folders, a baseball cap and a 1,000-page hardback, I was skeptical. But after a couple of days, its design and efficiency of storage really grew on me. It's replaced a Timbuk2 laptop messenger bag that I would routinely fill with extra gear (because I could) and then suffer with during the mile-long hike from parking lot to office. Now I only take what I need, when I need it and with much more comfort.

I love the wide-mouth main zipper compartment; it ingeniously opens and gives access to all your gear. Multiple compartments inside keep everything organized and secure. Side zips are perfect for cables and accessories. Mesh pockets in the shoulder straps hold my smartphone (snugly), and similar pockets on the side of the bag are great for small items though they're too small and tight for water bottles.

The minimalist design and interior color accents are the icing on the cake, and separate this from the pack of wannabe bag brands. The top handle is a nice touch for people like me who use this as their primary office bag. The laptop sleeve fits my MacBook perfectly, is well-padded and secure no matter how much junk I'm carrying.

On the downside, it is a commuter bag only. A chest strap would be nice for those days when you've got a full load. Zippers instead of velcro tabs would be better for the interior pockets, and sleeves for pens and pencils would be a good addition.

This is really awesome for commuting, it's slim profile allows you to sneak into tighter spots without having to take it off (but, you still should when you can anyway, as all good, civilized and considerate people should.)

Do not drop your bag vertically. Have a padding, a cushion or similar that is below your laptop. I dropped the bag accidentally once and it made a dent on it :/ so add extra padding if you are the kind of guy that may be prone to this.

One of the shoulder straps has a nice pocket, I think it was for a cellphone? (but its pretty tight) -I keep business cards there instead.

Ohmetric 30074 Notebook Briefcase with Removable Workstation and Organizer

When it was new, I loved this case. Interior is well designed, the case is comfortable, and the removable computer tray is brilliant!

After 6 months the magnet holders slipped but that was minor. After a year and a half the zipper broke rendering the case useless. I wrote to the company, sent a photo, offered to send them the case but they never responded. Design 5 star, construction 0.

They thought of everything with this bag. My netbook and all the cords are easily accessible and compartmentalized. There are nifty pockets for all of the stuff you are likely to need, and the logical arrangement keeps everything organized.

The best features are that the bag slides over the handle of your carry-on suitcase, so you don't have to lug it on your shoulder through the airport. The other feature is one that you wouldn't think important until you actually see it in action. That is the light green lining. You will never lose something in the bottom of the bag again, because it is so easy to see. The hidden zippered pocket is also appreciated. I don't use the laptop "table," but it is completely removable and I just don't take it with me when I travel.

Osprey Packs Syncro 20 Hydration Pack with Reservoir

I bought this to replace my 2010 Camelbak Rim Runner. I needed a hydropack that is fully teched up for biking and also slick looking enough to work in a business setting. This year was a bad year for backpacks. I ordered this one after seeing a Syncro 10 in a store, and the Syncro 20 was mostly what I had guessed, but still disappointing.

One major disappointment is the hydration systems. The tube is not replaceable because it is covered by plastic and seemingly sealed at the bag end. But during shipping the folk at Amazon bent the hose so it's basically unusable. I can just slide my a camelbak system in there, but that's some money out the window because Osprey and Amazon aligned to produce an inferior system and break it before delivery.

The bag's back flow is its best feature. But the pockets, the cinch-straps, shoulder straps, sternum strap, and interior design are all lackluster and stupid in obvious (preventable) ways. I'm going to give it a try, and then decide whether to return it or not. But at best it's a compromise, and at worst it's a mistake to buy this pack.

Ogio Duke Backpack

I was looking for a simple, light and not too big backpack to commute with my 13" mac air. I went through specs of so many backpack online and thought that this was the one. I like the simple and cool design and the side mesh pocket for a water bottle. It's not too big for a 5'4" female.

It's almost perfect. I would give 5 stars if it would have had double zippers, which are pretty common even for inexpensive backpacks. The side mesh pocket is not deep enough to hold my water bottle and it keeps falling down when I bend over.

The double zippers are critical. I wish that at least that would change for the next version.

The Smurfs "I'd Rather Be Blue" Backpack - 16 Inches

We adopted an "angel" that requested a Smurf backpack for Christmas. I could not find one at any local retailer and was pleased to see one at Amazon. With Prime it shipped free, was tax free, and it arrived in two days. It was wrapped in the same clear plastic around the handle that you would see at the store. It was also still stuffed with paper. Petunia Pickle Bottom Boxy Backpack Diaper Bag (Amaryllis Roll)

This bag didn't work for me because the interior was cloth. I felt like I needed something that could be wiped in the event of a spill. As soon as I received it and realized it was cloth I returned it. Pretty but not as functional as I wanted.

The description of the product could of been a little clearer. It is indeed 'black and red' as describedie. all black with the red edging on the flap. However, it also says 'reversible for a different look'I took this to mean it was red on the other side, but it's really gray with the red edging. My 15.6" laptop fits nicely inside. I was a little disappointed in that the thickness of the sleeve is thinner than I expectedI'm not sure it would protect the laptop from a hard bang, but it seems adequate if you are handling it carefully.

The sleeve itself is exactly what I needed. Thin, cushioned, good enough to protect against minor bumps and scratches when I carry it around in my backpack.

However. It's described as "Reversible". It's not. It's black on both inside and out with red trim. That's it. Now, you can still flip it inside and out. That part, yeah, it's reversible. But it doesn't have a different pattern or anything. It's the exact same thing.

Despite this, it's what I was looking for and well worth the very small price I paid for it. If you're not looking for something pretty or unique, it's what you need.

Reversable? don't think so... 15,6"? Never. Who controls sellers offering things they are not really selling? My 15.6" Toshiba doesn't fit on it. Very dissapointed.

so i see the common trend among bad reviews are coming down to the same thing here. i do have to say though mine did come in red and black just like the picture represented, however when it comes down to brass n tacks it doesnt preform its main function. when my laptop sits inside this thing it looks lopsided so i would say look elsewhere for a decent product. Warning Waste of Money

So after reading some of the reviews i was somewhat reluctant to order this sleeve, but after a couple of days i said what the heck, its only $10...

Delivery: AMAZINGLY FAST! I don't think its been more than 28 hours from ordering to delivery, it came in a huge (and i mean HUGE box), properly packaged, no wrinkles at all.

Quality: feels nice, doesn't have too much padding but it definitively provides cushioning. My Sony Vaio VPCEH (E series) 15.6 laptop fits in there quite easily, with extra room to spare actually. You can easily turn it inside out to chose from either red or black outside colors (i chose black).

Now the amazing part:

SMELL: yes it does have a plastic/oily smell that didn't go away even after spending a couple of hours in the sun on my patio. I figured i should wash it and after pondering on this idea I've decided it may be ruined in the washing machine so I've decided to manually wash it (with dish detergent). *** Imagine my surprise when i put this sleeve under the fosset and i basically FILLED IT WITH WATER! THIS BAD BOY IS FULLY WATER PROOF!

So my decision to wash it manually actually paid off, the washer would never be able to properly wash this sleeve and the smell would still be there. I turned it inside out and back again a couple of times, washing it through with that manual dish detergent then used half a roll of paper towels to completely dry it out. Will leave it overnight with a few bags of silica gel to suck up any remaining moisture from the inside.

So yes, if you are ever caught in the rain with your laptop in this sleeve, rest assured its perfectly safe and waterproof :)

I will let you know as time goes if the smell dimmed out.

Definitively worth every penny!
