Pet Life Dog Harness, Black, Medium
This appears to be a nice product but it was WAY too small for my dog. I purchased the medium size for my rottie healer (she's about 45 pounds) and this was sized more for a teacup chiwawa or something. Definitely wasn't going to work for me so I will be returing it. It seemed like it was decently made and the quality of the materiel was nice if you have a little puppy.

Dakine Duel Pack
I travel every weekend about 8 months out of the year so I need a good pack as my second carry on along with my roller bag. This Dakine Dual pack has just enough space in it to pack the main compartment full and still be able to fit my Macbook in the back notebook sleeve. The straps are padded nicely so when the bag is heavy it does not put too much strain on the shoulders. The front pockets are small but surprisingly hold a lot of things. Also you gotta love the cooler pocket on the front to keep drinks cold.

I ordered this pack when my last Dakine ripped after several years of heavy use. It seems like a strong and durable bag and looks great. It is a little smaller than I was expecting. I use it mostly for school and the main pocket and the small front pockets are all a little small. But it is still plenty big for most people. I can fit my 15" laptop and 2 books in it. If you need space for more than that then go for a larger bag. My previous bag was the Dakine Campus large backpack. It is bigger but not as comfortable.This pack is very comfortable and stays close to your back and doesn't sag when you load it up. It is a great bag and if it were just a tiny bit larger I would have given it 5 stars. If I could give it 4.5 I would. I would recommend it to anyone as long as they don't need a huge pack.
update: After 9 months of daily use this pack has held up well and still looks new. I wear it everyday and it has been very comfortable and durable. It's still a little small at times but should be sufficient for most people and it stays flat against the back and doesn't sag like some larger packs. I still recommend it.

I purchased this pack to act as a diaper bag for our summer trip. I love the built in cooler and two water bottle areas (I use these for sippy cups). Overall I love all the compartments and comfort of the pack. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was due to the weight of the pack it is a bit heavy due to all the extra padding in the laptop area. The skateboard clips are the perfect area for carring jackets too.
Mosey Life Convertible Backpack
This bag is beautiful inside and out. However, the straps are "slippery" and tend to fall off your shoulder. As a backpack, the straps really cut into the front on your shoulders and were too painful for me to wear that way for very long. The bag has a lot of room inside but the shape of the zipper (upside down smile) makes it a little hard to get into without using both hands.

I got this bag for a month long trip to Greece. It was perfect and I used it the entire trip. It is so easy to change from shoulder bag to back pack...nothing to reclip.. just pull the straps. It has plenty of pockets and compartments to keep a camera handy. The size is great.. can handle all one needs for a day trip (water bottle & suncreen, etc). The material is nice and does not get too hot against your back. I like the wallet that clips inside with a little elastic "leash" because it makes it difficult to be the victim of a pick-pocket. I just received this bag in black. I was looking for something that was lighter weight than the large leather bags we are carrying that are hurting our shoulders. I have crossbody bags, but sometimes they cause shoulder pain as well. This bag is attractive, not so sporty looking, plus wisely designed. The only thing that is inconvenient is that there are no handles on the one side so if you want to grab the bag to move it, you have to grab the top two sides of the bag. I think the design would be ruined if there were two handles, so i don't suggest the company do that. The inside center of the bag has a secure zippered large pocket (the bag is a generous 5 inches deep). In addition, in that section there is a nicely sized zippered pocket on one side and on the other are 2 slip pockets with see-through mesh plus a flat 6 credit card slots/zippered/slide pocket thingy attached with a strap and removable clasp. On either side of the main large pocket there is a deep pocket wide pocket (2 total) for more easily accessed items. On the outside there is a vertical zipper deep pocket and a snap tab closed smaller deep pocket for a phone and more. The whole bag is closed with a turn latch. When worn as a backpack everything is pretty secure. You can put either side against your body. The quilting is a horizontally oval design and there is leather trim that gives it a sophisticated look for a lightweight constructed bag. The metal rings where the straps slide through seem very strong. To adjust from a regular shoulder bag or hand bag, to a backpack is extremely easy. It's just a matter of sliding straps. There are 2 side adjustable, 4 hole buckles as well. Inside my black bag is a pink nylon lining that adds a nice touch and makes things easy to see. I have used three of these bags in different colors for more than two years. They are the only bags I have ever owned that I have been happy with for more than a year. I carry a lot of "stuff" including my IPad and I walk several miles a day regardless of weather. The bags are comfortable even with a lot of weight in them, and they never look hugely bulky. I use them for everything from the opera in Chicago and professional conferences to walks at the zoo or on the beach. The colors are beautiful and never fade. They also wipe off easily and are difficult to stain. [Although I admit that I spray them with water-protection.] They switch from backpack to shoulder bag in less than 3 seconds, even when you are walking! They are also lightweight, despite being very sturdy. If you need to carry a lot of stuff, especially if you also need to look professional, this is the bag for you. Good luck at choosing only one color--they are beautiful bags!

Thule 12 Liter Messenger Bag
I have a nubmer of different laptop bags that fit my 15" MacBook Pro, most of which are made by Timbuk2. I have both the messenger style and a backpack style, which Thule also makes.The Thule messenger bag is very stylish. It's been crafted with an eye toward design, and that much is obvious in just looking at it. It's a beautiful bag made with heavy-duty quality materials. I like that this bag is an understated black--it looks dressier than its Timbuk2 counterpart. The two problems I have with the Thule bag are the lack of pocket organization and the buckles used to close the bag. Both of these issues aren't a problem for the Timbuk2 bags I own.
At first glance, this bag looks well organized. A slightly padded rear compartment with a velcro latch houses your laptop. Although the padding is not excessive, I don't have any qualms about it. I feel my laptop is safe enough in there as long as I don't throw it around--pretty much like any other laptop bag you might find. On the other side of this zippered compartment is a mesh pocket that might be used for folders or documents. Under the main flap is a thin zippered pocket with a soft interior where you might put CDs or DVDs. There's a phone holster with a velcro strap specificially for iPhone-type devices, and two other pockets that are very slim. I can't fathom what one might put in these pockets... business cards? Next to them is a single pen holster. I carry at least four or five pens with me at all times, so this is a gross oversight in my opinion! Inside the main compartment is a zippered mesh interior pocket and the main compartment. Normally, I put my notebooks and books, iPad, etc. in the main compartment, but I haven't figured out what to put in the two zippered compartments. They aren't deep or wide enough to hold power cables or chargers, so those have to go in the main compartment. The design is just a little awkward when it comes to organization and I'm not certain I like it.
While the buckle closures are certainly well made and nice looking, they are just too awkward to close on the fly. Heaven forbid you have to open your bag and close it in a hurry, because you simply cannot close the buckles without putting the bag down and manually sliding the metal hooks into the extremely tiny loops of webbing. I much prefer Timbuk2's quick release buckles for ease of use, or even SealLine's stretch hook closure. Thule's buckles look nice, but man, they are a pain! Not to mention they do a great job of scratching the paint when you put the bag in the car...
Also, because it doesn't have a cross strap, you can forget about riding your bike with this over one shoulder. It's made for casual use, not commuting, which is a shame, because it looks like the interior is nearly waterproof!
The one other nice addition to this bag, outside of the travel-friendly laptop compartment, is the grab handle sewn into the bag. It's sometimes more convenient to pick the bag up by a shorter handle rather than the long strap. I do like this bag, and I'll undoubtedly continue to use it, but the detractors make it more of a casual messenger bag than an actual functional one.

First things first: The construction of this bag is overall very good. Very very good. The quality of materials and workmanship are first rate for a mid-priced bag of this sort.HOWEVER, the grab handle is absolutely, positively, unquestionably, a flaming pile of ... junk...It's like a strong shoestring. No padding. Not ergonomic in any fashion. Now, if you tend to carry your bag via the shoulder strap, this may not be a big deal. But I normally carry my bags by the handle. And this one is simply unacceptable for a bag like this.
OK, let's say the grab handle isn't a dealbreaker for you. Well, as I mentioned, the construction is good. But I will take issue with the manufacturer's description of this as a "messenger" bag. Perhaps in styling. But not in function. "Messenger" bags (as opposed to PC/laptop bags) suggest roomier, more versatile design. This bag is quite snug. It will fit your laptop (up to 15.4") a notebook, your power adapter and a mouse. Maybe a few more goodies, but not a lot. If, like me, you tend to travel with a lot of stuff, this isn't going to be your go-to bag for long trips. Fine to take to work or conference, I guess. But it's not what I'd call a messenger bag.
It is stylish, in a synthetic materials mid priced way. And there are those for whom the Thule name is worth paying for, is a value added feature. You know who you are.
Overall, I'd say this is a fine bag if you travel light. It's nice looking, it's well padded, the construction quality is high, and the price is about what you'd expect.
But that hideous excuse for a grab handle is going to be a deal breaker for anyone who plans on carrying this bag any distance by the handle.

i use this every day, and ahve had it for months. Still looks great. I like how streamlined it appears. Would have liked an external water bottle pocket, but i guess that would have detracted from the sleek look. Also, it is built very durably, fits in a gym locker perfectly, zippers are heavy duty, and the internal pocket is convenient. I don't find much use for the shoe compartment, but it can be used for other things than shoes. Anyway, if you like the look of this bag, you will not be disappointed, because it is really well made!

This KangaTek bandolier carrier worked perfectly for me. I kept my tickets, cell phone, and sunblock bottle in three of the four zippered pockets. It made me feel more secure about my belongings and kept both my hands free. It was not heavy and did not bother either shoulder as I wore it. It IS a little pricey but the quality and craftsmanship is excellent. I would recommend this product to anyone considering a "fanny pack" belt.
Lowepro LP36432-PWW Photo Hatchback 16L AW (Galaxy Blue)
After spending some time looking at bags for my NEX-6 (to be delivered), I ended up with the 16L Photo Hatchback by Lowepro. I went through their gear tool in order to determine which pack would be best suited for my needs. I went based off of the NEX-7 since it is virtually the same size as the 6. With this, a few lenses, and a tablet in mind, the Photo Hatchback seemed to fit the bill.Once I received the product, I was not surprised to find out that the Pepper Red was actually more of an Orange (knew this by other reviews and videos) but I was very happy with the color. The bag has tons of great features, it is quite comfortable, and overall the build quality is excellent. I just reviewed the tripod that I purchased (Benro MeFoto Travel Tripod Kit, Titanium (A0350Q0T)) and although it doesnt fit in the bag with the carry case, it does fit in one of the side water bottle pockets. It is exposed, but it is still a nice thing to know that it will fit (may need a water bottle to counter the weight on the opposite side, but thats not a big deal to me really).
The photo compartment is compact, but has more than enough room to be sufficient for the gear that I plan on taking. In addition, there are other pockets for anything else youd want to bring with you.
I am very excited about this bag, and extremely pleased with my purchase.

In my never-ending quest for the ultimate photo backpack, I recently came across this new Lowepro Hatchback. It attracted my attention with it's combination of lightweight materials, sleek design and modest size (at least for the 16 liter model). I was looking for a small to medium-sized daypack with good ergonomics, and so I thought the Hatchback 16L would fit the bill nicely.First things first: the Pepper Red definitly isn't red! It is actually bright orange, which is not ugly at all, but it will take some getting used to.
Secondly, the bag really is lightweight. The materials do feel a little thin, but they seem to be tough enough. The wide shoulder straps are very good and nicely padded, as is the back panel. This will certainly not cause issues on a long day in the field. The inside camera compartment (accessed via the back panel) is also padded very well and has an extra storm-flap closure, which is good against dust or moisture.
Beware that the camera compartment of the 16 liter version will only hold a medium-sized DSLR with standard zoom lens attached, and some smaller accessoiries. I have a Nikon D90 with 18-105 lens, and this setup occupies about 75% of the space inside the compartment. This means there is not enough room left for any additional lenses! If you want to take extra lenses, they will need to go in the top compartment, which is roomy enough, but of course not padded.
This upper compartment is surprisingly roomy and adds a great deal to the bag's functionality. It will easily hold your lunch box and a light jacket or rain gear (although it will be a little tight if you also carry addittional lenses in there). It has 2 elastic mesh pockets and 1 zippered compartment. These are useful for smaller items such as keys, filters, cables, etc. A water bottle can go into 1 of the 2 outside mesh pockets, and the front pocket is useful for flat items such as books, newspapers or a tablet PC. There are no dedicated tripod attachments, although you could put a compact model in one of the side mesh pockets.
Overall, I think the Hatchback 16L is a well-designed and very functional camera bag. I really like the sleek design and low profile of the 16L model. It's not a giant of a backpack, which will make it ideal for day trips as well as longer travels. Toughness "on the road" has not been tested yet, but as it's a Lowepro I expect no problems there. The only drawback is the size of it's camera compartment, as it will definitly not accommodate any additional lenses. It's bigger brother, the 22L model, will probably do better in this respect, but the increased size does qualify it as a large backpack.

Found this bag perchance while looking for a mid size bag to occupy the daypack region. My Carry all is too big for hiking, etc and pretty much just carries camera gear. I have a small Domke that holds all my lenses and a few Filters, but was too small for my Cokin P setup, a flash, and the camera itself. If I needed them then it was the carry all or two smaller bags. Enter the Lowepro 16L AW.I generally have my camera out and ready to go on a hike, so i reconfigured the camera compartment as was able to fit a Nikkor 70-300 f/3.5-4.5, a Tokina 11-16 f/2.8, a Nikkor 35mm f/1.8 and an old Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 AF-D pancake as well as one remote flash trigger and receiver in the compartment.
The top area was completely unused for any lenses, but fits a complete set of Grad NDs and a Cokin P Head/hood as well as an SB-700 Flash and accessories (in the pouch) as well as several screw in filters, and miscellaneous smaller items like a remote, lenspen, and rocket blower. Even with all that I still had room for my D7000 with a Nikkor 28-70 f/3.5-4.5 attached, a microfiber towel, and/or a compact rain jacket. None of this was really crammed in the bag and it does not bulge or look overfilled. Granted it took a bit of creative layout in the top compartment, but it all fit well and was not jammed in.
The camera/lens compartment is padded, removable and has a weather flap that can be closed over it and zipped up inside. The bag itself it water resistant and includes a rain cover, so all in all my gear it pretty well protected from the elements inside.
Downsides are that the removal dividers in the camera compartment aren't really well suited to true customization. there is really only a finite set of ways you can organize the inside. I might be grabbing some other dividers from some other bags to get it working better. This is not the bag you want to carry a large body in. the 22L AW is better suited for that if you want to carry more than 1 other lens. The other thing is that I haven't really found a way to attach a tripod to the bag. There are two elastic pouches on the sides for water bottles or whatever, but there is no way to really secure a tripod at the top if you use the pouches to hold a leg. Big thing for a hiker/landscape photographer. I am sure I'll figure something out with a D-ring, but a simple velcro strap at the top would have solved the whole issue.
All in all, this is my new day hiker, day at the park, commuter bag. Well made, thought out design, and not overly obnoxious as a camera bag means that it will be getting a lot of use.

It seems i've searched forever for the perfect bag.Have i found it? No, but after so many years of "collecting" bags, i've come to realize there is no one perfect bag anyway. ;)
The Lowepro Hatchback (16L) is a very versatile bag that can be used to carry some limited camera equipment, along with personal items for a day hike, walking around town, on sundry excursions, etc.
As a working photojournalist, i wouldn't use it on a regular basis to WORK out of though. For that matter, i rarely use any backpack-style bag to work photo assignments. That's why i have so many bags to begin with. Just like lenses, each serves a different purpose. Most bags i work out of are small-ish shoulder-style bags that are easy to open and access, such as Domke (my favorites are the F3x and the F803).
At first, i was a bit skeptical of the back-access panel. But it's really no harder to access than the front, in fact, i do think it is slightly easier. The point is that you DO have to take it off your back though, just like any other backpack, to get inside it. Sling-bags are really not much better. None of them are really quick-draw. That's why when i am actually working, i hardly ever keep a camera inside ANY bag. They are just to hold the needed extra lenses, flash, batteries, etc. for the particular job.
That said, when you are walking/hiking, for recreation/commuting, and only need your camera occasionally, this bag does work well.
The thing i like the most about it is the SIZE.
It is NOT too small for it's purpose.
But if you want to carry every lens, camera body, and flash you own, plus the kitchen sink, then it won't work for you, and your search for the perfect bag will resume. (i have enough lenses, flashes, camera gear to put in 10 bags, but only take what i need for a given opportunity).
After one day, i've only taken one hour-long walk through the woods with it so far. It's comfortable enough. It perfectly carries my slim Thermos bottle (Thermos Vacuum Insulated Stainless Steel Hydration Bottle, 18 Ounce--love this bottle) in either side mesh pocket, or my cell phone (inside a case) in the other. You could put a bottle on both sides, or a very small tripod.
The straps seem a bit hard, but maybe they will soften some with some use. They are supportive and the weight is distributed well though. Havent used the waist or sternum straps so far. I discovered that the waist straps can actually be tucked out of the way inside the little bottom pocket with the rain cover. Nothing i hate more than having all those long straps dangling everywhere in the way all the time. The sternum straps can be adjusted height-wise on a built-in bar on the shoulder straps, and they come wound up and tied with an elastic band, which is the way i've kept them.
The material is light but seems STRONG. The whole pack is pleasingly LIGHT without any gear, which is another of my main reasons for purchase; some bags are just so heavy and cumbersome to begin with...before you even load them up!
I'm really glad it has a rain cover. I like the light-colored cover with only the logo on it. It is attached to the bottom of the bag with a little strap and goes inside its own little pocket on the very bottom of the bag. It covers the bag well, but i havent tried it in the rain yet so see how well it works. Undoubtably i will at some point though, and i wanted a bag with a rain cover.
I do not especially like the Lowepro name stencil-ized down the side of the front. Not to knock the brand, i think Lowepro makes some geat products, i just don't think i should have to advertise for them. Would rather it was smaller/less obtrusive or just the logo. Plus, everyone then knows its a bag to hold expensive camera gear.
The look of the bag is otherwise nice. I got the plainer charcoal-gray so it would go with about anything and not be so noticeable. The blue looks nice, but i just don't personally like really loud bright colors for camera bags, although i suppose if you are hiking around in the middle of the woods where a lot of hunters are, the Pepper orange-red bag might be handy!
Inside the main photo section (which can be removed if you want), the bag will fit one body (without grip) with a smaller attached lens. I've fit my Nikon D300s OR D7000 body with a Tamron 60mm f/2 Macro or Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4 (with hood in shooting position!)inside it, with a bit more room for a small prime such as a 50mm f/1.4 or Sigma 24mm f/1.8. Could even attach a 85mm f/1.4 (with hood reversed or off). With one body/lens combo, i can also fit my Fuji x10 inside this section and maybe a charger, extra battery or two. You can put a flash card or small battery in a elastic holder which is built-in to the flap.
You're not going to ba able to fit a larger pro body with huge pro zoom lenses in here though. But you could fit 3-4 nice primes.
The top section is quite roomy, is has two mesh pockets and a bigger zippered pocket, none padded. I can fit another body and smaller lens attached in the top pocket, or a 70-200 f/2.8 even. Keep in mind that this section is not particularly designed for photo gear, but it does work, and the padding around the other areas of the bag do provide some protection. I'll most likely use this section for various small personal items though, as intended. Phone, MP3 player, headphones, audio recorder, batteries, snacks, cap, etc. I will say that the zipper seems a bit hard to open on this top main compartment at times, wants to snag a bit as there is a built-in rain drip over the zipper. Its not a deal-breaker, but it doesnt open as smoothly as the other zippers for the tablet section or camera back section.
Being the age we are in, i now have and carry a tablet with me at times, which was another of the primary reasons i wanted/needed a new bag.
The front section of the bag is intended to hold a tablet, such as ipad. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (loaded with PhotoshopTouch), which even in a faux leather cover, fits perfectly. A bigger laptop would not fit however. There is a sleeve-pocket inside this zippered pocket, which is padded and holds the tablet perfectly. You could even put something else, such a small Kindle in this section. This works great for me, and provides easy access. Maybe its easy access for a thief as well, but i'd think you could feel the zipper opening and the device being pulled out of the sleeve, so i'm not so worried.(You could also surmise that the photo section would be impossible to steal from though). This section is a perfect fit for a tablet (10-11 inches max), is padded for protection, and the other sections serve their intended functions well too.
Overall, i am very happy with this bag. It holds what i want it to, and nothing more. The 22L version would be too cumbersome for me, and force me to carry too much, uncomfortably.
I'm sure some day i'll be looking for another bag to suit another need, but for now, this one does the job quite nicely!

Okay, so let's start off by saying that the "backpack straps" are virtually useless. If you fill up the bag, they are too thin to be comfortable. I ended up buying a more comfortable strap and wearing the bag either across my shoulder or as a sling.There's a wasted cellphone holder on one side (no smartphone is going to fit in that!) and the zippered pocket on the other side is too small to be useful.
The laptop compartment is roomy enough for a laptop (or sometimes two, when I took my work laptop and my personal laptop) and papers. Having to first unbuckle the flap and then unzip the laptop compartment was a hassle at security checkpoints.
My biggest wish was that the front compartment, where the pens and "stuff" goes... is only covered by the flap. I was always worried stuff would fall out if the bag temporarily got inverted in the overhead compartment of an airliner.
My wife never warmed up to the brown color and wished it was black. I was okay with the color.

(note: female reviewer)I ordered this bag for traveling with an 11" MacBook Air and the contents of my purse. Happily it arrived before a short trip so I could give it a test run before a longer vacation where I will likely want to have the Mac with me at least some of the time. It replaced a large and rather ratty backpack, and it's a gigantic step up. The Mac fits snugly and perfectly in the bag, leaving room for cell phone, wallet and 2 smallish zip bags with cosmetic stuff and other gadgetry. Side zip pocket perfect for ID, passport, boarding pass whatever. Glasses pouch is a nice touch, eliminating the need for a separate glasses case.
The leather is dark, heavy, and matte. It is understated and beautiful. I like the fact that the strap is a leather-webbing combination, as it manages to be lighter, more flexible and still strong all at the same time. I'm not a tall person (5'4" when I elongate as much as possible) and it's not unduly large for me to carry as a messenger bag style. I believe that this will join the pantheon of perfect-for-the-task bags in my collection!

ps. It also is the perfect size to slide into the first class sliding overhead bin on a Canadair Regional Jet 700. That is one tiny bin that would never accept a briefcase or regular laptop bag. The Mailboy slid in there perfectly!

I purchased this bag a few months ago after reading the reviews here on Amazon. I was in the market for a small messenger bag that would fit magazines and a couple of books while maintaining a minimalist design. I have received countless compliments on the bag. It is simply beautiful and the craftsmanship is top-notch. I was looking for a bag made in the USA from quality materials and this is by far one of the best available. A couple of weeks ago I noticed a small flaw in the stitching on the corner of the bag and the owner of the company was quick to respond to my email. He said that I could bring the bag to a local leather or shoe shop and have it repaired and he would reimburse me. I haven't yet gone because I've been quite busy, but the promptness of the owner's response impressed me. Besides the small stitching issue, I feel the bag is perfect for my needs. Now that the iPad mini 2 is going to be released in the near future, I am even more excited as this bag will easily fit it and a full-sized travel Bluetooth keyboard that will eliminate the need to bring my 15" MacBook Pro around with me everywhere. The bag smells of real, natural leather and feels sturdy. I am confident that it will last a lifetime and will become even more beautiful as the leather wears and ages. Liberty Bags Value Drawstring Backpack
Bought five of these in different colors for a recent trip to Disney World. They were light weight and everyone got to carry their water and snacks (including 3 kids). We bought them because they were cheap and could be lost and abused without any guilt. Suprising they have held up, and 6 months later we are still using them for sporting events and errands.

This is a really solid canvas pack. The grey is slightly darker in person. It's aesthetically pleasing and is big enough to hold my laptop and e-reader. I really like the hidden pocket on the side. The only problem I've really had is the fabric on the inside; the color runs when it gets wet. Other than that, I really enjoy this!

I've had this backpack for almost 6 months now and its a good solid backpack with tons of room. No defects yet and everything still in excellent working order and I do use this daily.Cons I do find a few things odd to me. For instance: The rear compartment, where you put the laptop, has a zipper that goes down one side and only up as high as top center. I sometimes have trouoble getting my 15.6" laptop in and out of there. I cant imagine how easy to use it would be with a larger laptop. They should have at least let the zipper go all the way across the top.
The second thing that bothers me is the shoulder straps. I'm a large guy, 6'1" 250lbs and the padded part of the strap just makes it to my chest making it uncomfortable to carry using only 1 strap, like you see school kids do, so I've been wearing it using both straps.
Pros I would like to state again that I love the room this backpack has. It might not look it but it has volumes of room. I can easily carry my laptop, charger, mouse, phone charger, large bottle of ibuprophen, hairbrush, stain stick, dayplanner, lunch, dinner, two 2 liter bottles of soda, and a couple of books and still have some room to spare.

I've had and used a SwissGear backpack since high school and well through college. Recently, I've been traveling more and the additional step of removing my notebook from my bag has been a hassle. Chances you may drop it, or even forget it at the checkpoint are constantly on your mind. My old bag provided great padding for my notebook and was still in great condition, but it was time to upgrade. This bag changed all that for me.I found this exact bag at a local Sam's Club for just under $40 and it's fantastic. I have passed through several airports Las Vegas (LAS), Seattle (SEA), Columbus (CMH), Orlando (MCO), New York (LGA) and countless others and have not yet had an issue with this bag. The TSA reserves the right to ask you to remove your notebook from your bag even in a ScanSmart bag, but not once since I have been using this bag have exercised that need. For storage the bag has a good amount of internal and external pockets for stowing electronics and various charging cables. The pockets on the side are great for holding my notebook charging cable and a bottled beverage.
This bag is sturdy and holds up really well. SwissGear offers a 5-year warranty with most of their bags but they are such great quality I've never had to use it so I can't comment on that process. One additional tip with this bag is when passing through security; you can put your Kippie/311 bag in the pocket inside the zip down section. As you zip your bag down flat, your Kippie/311 bag is right there for placing in one of the bins. Past the checkpoint it's easy to zip it back up and be on your way without delay.

This backpack is awesome! I am a graduate student who travels often, so I really enjoy the scan smart feature and the laptop compartment is also easily accesible and nicely padded. It also has a ton of other really useful pockets that even keep me organized (which is quite a feat). Also, Swissgear backpacks last forever (my last one lasted almost 8 years). I would have given the backpack five stars except that the light grey portions of the backpack are much darker than they are pictured here.
