The cover fits my 24" suitcase, but it doesnt fit perfectly and it covers the handle where there's an opening for it on the cover.. I have to say that the picture does not really do this bag justice. It is much nicer in person. My husband had an Eddie Bauer Laptop backpack for many years but was starting to tear. I looked for a while because I read that some backpacks will not fit a 15.4 like advertised. He has an HP 15.4 and it fits perfectly with a little room left to zip. The orange interior is interesting because you can easily see whats inside. Since most computer accessories are black. Lots of pockets for all your things. We've all gone through the range of backpacks in our lives. In today's age of technology, we require a lot more from our backpacks. And it's still not enough to just have a slot for a laptop. There must be padding around the laptop area and on the bottom. There must be protection from the other objects in your backpack. And there must be structure to the bag itself so that you don't have to worry every time you set the backpack down. The MICROSOFT RAINIER is hands down the best backpack ever made.

I'm a film student and I often have to carry my Macbook Pro 15, an external hard drive, big headphones, a couple textbooks, keys, pens, ipod, BPA free water bottle, and other accessories. The Rainier has enough pockets (and not too many) organized in a way where you instinctually know where to look for whatever you're looking for. This will truly be your best friend at work or school. When I set the Rainier down, it sits upright (just like in the photo) at your side like man's other best friend. All your gear is not sitting on top of each other.

Swissgear, Belkin, Booq, Brenthaven, Ogio make good bags. None of their bags can compete with this one. If I lost my Rainier and Microsoft jacked up the price of this one to $200, I'd still buy it.

And... it's not as geeky in person as it looks in the photo.

Recommendation:

I would not recommend this pack due to the weakness of delicate zippers used to secure essential compartments.

Pros:

The bag is well designed/organized. The overall size permits many different items to be stored securely and conveniently. There is ample padding to protect your fragile devices. Light rain did not penetrate the contents during messy weather.

After less than six months one of the zippers came apart rendering the backpack useless. If you purchased this pack use care in handling/using the zippers as they are delicate and will come apart. If one of the zippers that secure a main compartment fails, the pack will be made useless for its intended purposes. No sternum strap to better secure a load when walking fast or over rough terrain.

Appearance:

My personal preference is to have a backpack that does not suggest to criminals, 'Hey guys look, the laptop is in here, come and get it!' which this pack effectively does with its bright orange zipper pulls that shout out the Microsoft brand name. Instead I would recommend a design that mimics a daypack used for trekking.

Comparison: Microsoft Rainier vs. SwissGear Computer Backpack (Black):

I recently switched to a SWISSGEAR model and have noticed by comparison the materials used are more rugged (heavy-duty). The SwissGear pack, more than adequate for my purposes, can easily accommodate a 15" laptop but overall was less roomy than the Microsoft Rainier. The SwissGear pack is more adjustable with better pulls and side panel cinch straps to secure contents, important if you have to walk a long distance, or have reason to traverse uneven or difficult terrain on foot. SwissGear also includes a sunglasses loop and a small enclosed compartment (big enough to hold a slim-line digital voice recorder or pocket knife) on the shoulder straps. Neither pack had a sternum strap.

I just bought this to replace a notebook back pack I have had for 8 years. I like that tis is a lot lighter and more stylish, but there is a flaw that really annoys me, a lot. I do not pick up the back pack, swing it over the center of my back and then insert both arms into the straps to use to shoulders and my back to carry it. I tend to fling one side of it over one shoulder only and walk from my car to the coffee shop or work, or back to the car. My last back pack had a rubberish underside to the straps, so they sort of gripped my shoulder, keeping it sort of in place. This back pack has a mesh like material that does not grip at all, in fact seems to glide rght off like teflon. So I put it over my shoulder and walk no more than 5 steps and it had slid off my shoulder onto my arm, which is annoying and if carrying coffee, causes it to spill. If only the unit had a non-slip material on the underside of the straps it would be perfect.

Lucky Bums Snow Sport Helmet with Fleece Liner

First off, I ordered the Matt Black version of this helmet. The company did not list whether this helmet is for adults or kids so that is the first problem. I took a chance and assumed it was adult, and just in case ordered the "Large" size. Helmet finally arrives after a long time shipping, looks the part for sure. There is a lovely black fleece inside There is even an adjustable twisty-knob inside on the back to increase the size so I turn it to maximum then try it on. Ouch, it was way too small! I tried a few more times before giving up with squashed temples. I really have no complaints about the helmet itself, just the advertising of the helmet could be much much better. The company should list head circumference sizes alongside their sizes (there is no excuse not to there is a tag inside the helmet that lists this). I'd suggest trying on some helmets at REI then getting one at least 2 sizes bigger from this company. A point to note You have to pay shipping to return the helmet (cost me $14 via USPS, to get a signature confirmation), added to that the $7 to ship it out to you and you blow half the price of the helmet itself in shipping charges alone should you order the wrong size, so you better be sure!!! I think these might be kids helmets after all.

Update: I have been to the luckybums website (listed below) and the head-circumfrence sizes they list are as follows: Adult/Youth Small (54-55cm [21.5"]), Medium (56-58cm [22"-23"]), Large (59-60cm [23"-23.5"]), XL (61cm [24"]). Hope this helps:

We had tried on helmets in the stores for sizing purposes, and when we got this one in the mail we were all a little shocked at how enormous it isit fit her head, but the overall helmet is just bulky and big. Much more so than the ones we tried on in the store. I guess this will keep her safe, but she did complain about needing to rest her head. It was pretty hard to get her goggles strap to fit around the helmet. It barely fit when the goggles strap was loosened all the way. The fleece liner is nice, she was warm.

This backpack is very nice and provides good protection for the laptop. I have a 17" HP laptop and it fits with room to spare. The padding in the laptop compartment seems adequate for protection and the tablet pocket is also well padded and fits my iPad3 with case very well, also with room to spare. The shoulder straps are well padded and comfortable and adjust easily while being worn. There are plenty of pockets and compartments for all your device and mobile storage needs. The only knock I have (and this goes for just about every backpack I've seen), there is no "Hard" bottom so the backpack does not stand upright then set on a desk or the ground.

5 stars would be 6 if there were more, providing protection for the contents, comfortable to wear and FAST shipping. I would recommend this backpack to anyone who is in the market for one.

Timbuk2 Copilot Roller Bag

I'm pretty serious about my bags since I travel quite a bit. Once again in search for the 'perfect' suitcase, I stumbled upon the Co-Pilot suitcase. In my quest, I bought the 20 inch Co-Pilot, the 22 inch Co-Pilot, and even the 22 inch Checkpoint. I read the reviews, watched just about every video out there, but I needed to hold one in my hand and do a dry run of how I would normally pack into my suitcases.

I used to own a Delsey 20 inch carry-on and sling my Timbuk2 Commuter onto it when I'm on the go, but I was also looking for something to consolidate the suitcase and messenger into one when necessary. A friend has an Antler (UK brand) carry-on suitcase that I loved because it has a compartment that holds your laptop, yet it was a vertical pull case and not the horizontal ones that you often see business people with at airports. I don't like the horizontal ones because they tend to be short and fat and really don't hold a whole lot when you need it for trips that are more than overnighters. So, my requirements were a vertical pull carry-on that can hold clothes, laptop (and other electronics), and easily accessible when needed.

First that arrived was the 22 inch Co-Pilot. I pitted it against my tried and true Delsey, which has solid and rigid sides, a good thing; the Co Pilot doesn't and I knew that going in. But, with a basic blanket test to see the volume, the Co Pilot trumped the Delsey without even showing any bulge. I could barely zip up the Delsey. It fit my Thinkpad T410s (14in wide) in the front zipper and it fit perfect (thought I'd probably still put it in a sleeve just in case). Overall, I thought it was nice, but I felt it looked a bit large. So...

I ordered the 20 inch Co-Pilot and the 22 inch Checkpoint.

In short, the 20in Checkpoint had a manufacturing defect in the neoprene zipper I noticed when I was doing the blanket test. The mesh ripped, which leads me to believe that I may have to be careful in the future. But, with Timbuk2's excellent warranty, I wasn't too concerned. The 22in Checkpoint, I felt was a little bit too flippy floppy for my tastes and won't be able to handle any sort of airport-luggage-handler-crush-tests. So, the 22in Co-Pilot wins.

Now, the real life test.

We took this for a weekend trip and were able to fit mine and my wife's clothes (summer Seattle weather) and my 18mo old's stuff all inside without any bulge. I was amazed. We usually would have to carry two bags. On the plane (Alaska Air and UA on the return), it was a perfect fit into the overhead compartment. I was pleased with the results. The rollerskate wheels were quick and quiet around the airport and the compartmentalized sides are great for quick access instead of rummaging through a bunch of clothes. For even better packing, use packing cubes! We used the shoe pocket for our flip flops, but you can use it for your toiletries as well for those times you need to deal with the TSA.

Next major run, two weeks in Asia. I'm ready.

--UPDATE 10.20.2011 ---

Yes, I went on a 12 day business trip to Asia. I packed 7 days worth of work and casual clothes in there and came back with a ton more stuff. I ended up using a backpack in combo with the Co-Pilot, but I think I came back with double the amount that I left with. Everything fit just fine and I was even able to stash it in as a carry-on in United Airlines 737. Be careful of some of the 737's since the side compartments tend to be smaller than the middle ones. Otherwise, all's well and I'm still lovin' the Co-Pilot 22!

--UPDATE 06.20.2012 ---

Since getting the bag, I've been traveling with the Co-Pilot 22in for almost 20 trips (domestic and international) and couldn't love the bag more! It's been through rain, snow, and dirty streets in China and the bag still looks brand new. I get lots of looks and I love how I can spot it easily coming down the conveyor belt.

Skateboard wheels--I'm mixed about them. They work awesome on smooth tile and road terrain, but being that most airports are carpeted, they create a lot of friction and can get tiring real quick. They look nice and are whisper quiet, though!

If I could, I'd like to make a suggestion to Timbuk2 to their suitcases. I've had and still use two Timbuk2 messenger bags (one now a camera bag and the other, my work bag) and they both have reflector tabs on them. Because I know I'll always at some point walk in the dark, I'd like to prevent getting hit as much as I can. So, I stuck on a couple 3M reflector strips on the front and the back of Co-Pilot. This also greatly helps visibility when I'm waiting for my ride--I just turn my bag towards incoming cars and they can spot me quickly. It doesn't have to be huge, but just accent enough to be spottable.

--UPDATE 09.11.2012 ---

It's been about a year and about 60K miles with this suitcase throughout the US, Canada, and Asia. I'm bummed. A couple of seams are coming apart from the side of the bag. While I, and you I'm sure, occasionally "pack it in", this should not happen this easily and this early in the game. The seams haven't popped open to where the innards are exposed, but I fear the inevitable. :(

I purchased the 20" Copilot from eBags directly because they had a great sale and I happen to live in Seattle (where Amazon also lives). The listing on Amazon for this bag can be confusing so here is what I know about this bag from looking at the Timbuk site. The name of the bag is the Copilot Roller which comes in three sizes (S,M,XL) as indicated by a small fabric tag on the inside of the bag. The bag can be referred to as the 20" Copilot, 22" Copilot or 28" Copilot depending on the height of the bag. On many other sites the Copilot Roller is also referred to as the Copilot Footlocker and in fact the attached cardboard tag on my bag says "copilot footlocker." (It also says the color is black/black/black even though the bag is black/gunmetal/black so it is likely the wrong tag.) The Amazon listing is confusing because it lists the 20" Copilot Footlocker as available in three sizes when in fact 20" is size small.

The bag, as noted by other reviewers, is a tad larger than the stated dimensions. The height of the 20" (small) Copilot is 20" from the wheel axle to the top of the bag so even though the bag is 20" the wheels and stand support extend about 1.1" beyond 20". If the bag is overstuffed it will also easily exceed its depth dimension of 9". This means that even the smallest Copilot at 20" is still a larger carry-on bag and may not meet international carry-on standards even though it is less than 45" in all dimensions. (Also, it is likely that the actual height for all the Copilots is 1.1" more than listed.)

The bag is a clamshell design with zippered mesh webbing over each half on the inside so that when opened everything stays in place. The front half of the bag is soft and the back half is rigid. What might not be seen in the photo's is that it has handles on both sides as well as the top and under the top handle in a tiny zippered compartment is a piggyback strap. This bag is light for its size which is ideal for a carry-on bag but I have my doubts as to the survivability of the copilot as checked baggage.

My bag was made in China (Timbuk2 also has factories in the Philippines for non-custom production). Unlike other Timbuk2 bags, this one needed a few days to off-gas.

I decided to purchase the Timbuk2 model as a smaller carry-on bag (although the 20" is larger than I anticipated) and also, in case I do check it, to make it easier to visually recognize my bag on the belt. My old 22" black Samsonite is remarkably indistinguishable from all the other square black pieces of luggage when circling on the conveyor.

I have always had brand loyalty for Timbuk2 products ever since purchasing my first messenger bag, so I was extremely excited to see them come up with a suitcase.

I bought the smallest one because I thought the TSA maximum carry on size was 45 linear inches, and the medium one's dimensions are just over that. The medium one is actually abount an inch too big although timbuk2 says it's acceptable. I got the smallest size so there will be no dispute about it, in case they start becoming more strict about carry on sizes.

First the positive:

The quality of the material, like most timbuk2 products, is among the highest I've ever seen for suitcases. Strong and light at the same time.

I travel frequently as a poker player, so I was looking for a carry on that won't rip after a few trips. I used to go through one every few months. So far, I've used this 5 times and it's still in "like new" condition. So if quality of material is your primary concern, this is an excellent buy.

Now the negatives:

The suitcase is actually a bit bulkier than the dimensions say. If you use the front pocket for something such as a laptop or a large book, then it will be slightly too fat to fit in the overhead bins in some planes. This makes the front pocket pretty much useless if you're planning to use this suitcase as a carry-on, so you're pretty much stuck with the two clamshell compartments to put all your stuff.

Even with the added bulk, I found that I couldn't fit that much stuff in mine. The problem with the design is that it's harder to use all the space in the corners. There's a zipper web cover for each side of the clamshell but the lining of it extends over the edge which is slightly annoying. Also, the bottom is not flat which also makes it harder to pack at full capacity.

Bought the 22" (medium) Copilot, then agonized over whether I should have bought the 20" version instead. Have used this bag for both air travel and car travel now, and like it very much.

Like: Much lighter than my previous (very old) carry on. Grab handles on every side make overhead stowing and retrieval a breeze (I'm a wuss and had no trouble holding the packed bag over my head). Wheels are quiet and wide enough it doesn't tip much. TONS of room inside (even packed my pillow in there, along with everything else for a long weekend). Weird neoprene zippers ROCK, I was not sure what to expect but they are stretchy and practical and go easily around anything.

Dislike: Yes it is 22 x 14 x 9 but each of those dimensions is a good half to three-quarters of an inch bigger than stated. Fit easily into Southwest overheads but they state 24 x 16 x 10 is acceptable. Have not tried on another airline yet. Front zipper pocket is just a smidge too small for my 14.1" laptop.

Overall: Based on my experience with this bag, I'd cheerfully take the 20" (small) Copilot instead and know it has plenty of room, as well as being more likely to fit in overhead bins. I don't fly as often as we drive, but it definitely stresses me out to know I may have to check this bag because it's an inch too big. Potential size issues aside, I absolutely love it!

Timbuk2 20-Inch Co Pilot Footlocker I bought this case so I didn't have to check my luggage in at the airport. I am irked by having to pay for checking in a bag and I'm mistrustful that it, and I, will arrive simultaneously at any given destination. That being said, I've used this bag twice and not carried it on either time.

I'm not worried about it working as a carry on. It's just that my last two trips have involved driving and then a boss who paid my check in costs. I took a chance on the arrival thing. The bag is perfect for carry-on. With handles on all four sides and its compact build, this suitcase will fit into the overhead bin better than I fit into the little tiny seats they give us now.

With regard to check in, it was the first time I've been able to find my luggage on the carousel without having to grab at and peer at every black bag of a certain size. The violet stripe and handle bar and tannish (potrero?) color makes it easy to spot. The bag rolls quietly and is very stable. I had a brief bag and c-pap machine loaded on it and it balanced nicely. The only thing that would make the wheels better is if they were spinners. Notwithstanding that, the bag is easy to maneuver and follows along like a well trained puppy.

Packing the Co-Pilot is also a treat. There are two compartments, the two halves of the suitcase, each covered with a mesh screen. When you close or open the case, everything stays where it should, something that has never happened for me with the ties that most cases use. I fit professional and casual clothes for 4 days, my shower bag, a pair of nice shoes and my Birkenstock clogs into this suit case and didn't have a problem closing it.

I am very happy with my new suitcase. I've used Timbuk2 briefcases and bags for some time and I'm quite pleased that I tried their carry-on suitcase. I highly recommend it.

I was worried that my Dell Precision 17" (15.5" x 11.5") laptop wouldn't fit, but took a chance and ordered this bag anyway.

If you are worried that your larger laptop won't fit, don't be. While the laptop pocket will not work for a 17", it is perfect for a smaller one use it for something else. You can't tell from the photos but the sectioned compartment for files or books has zippers. When these zippers are undone, the compartment gains about an inch of extra width, easily holding the larger sized laptops. There is still room for your cables, accessories, and other things. The other large compartment will hold overnight things or office needs, and the front pocket is perfect for travel papers, wallet, keys, cellphone, etc. There is also a small zippered clutch perfect for makeup/contacts.

The telescoping handle fits snugly in it's own zippered compartment and is easy to pull out and put back. The wheels are sturdy, and if the laptop is in the back, it's well-balanced and does not tip over.

This bag is great for every day use as well as for a carry-on or overnight bag for travelling.

I only wish there was a detachable shoulder strap.

I got my little red buddy for Christmas, so I did not get to use until I returned to work in January. So far, I love it. It has ample room inside for my laptop and any files etc I need to carry with me. It also has compartments for cords, mouse etc. The retractable handle works well and extends to various lengths to accomodate varying heights. My only suggestion for improvement would be to enlarge the wheels to make it a little more resiliant in the bad weather months. I LOVE the color!!!!

Peppa Pig 'P For Preety ' School Bag Rucksack Backpack

This bag is fantastic, and we get compliments on it all the time! It is the perfect size for my (taller than average) 3 year old. She is able to carry two dance outfits (2 leotards, 2 pairs of tights and 2 pairs of socks), a pair of tap shoes and a pair of ballet shoes, with a little room to spare. If it fit any more in it, I think it would be too heavy for a young one to carry. The bag seems to be sturdy we have been using it for a few months, now. One thing you can't see from the pictures is the back of the bag is (pink) transparent. It looks nice, but it was a surprise when we received it. I would certainly buy this bag again.

This is a very small backpack. It's only about three inches deep. The entire thing is made of plastic similar to a rain coat or one of those clear plastic umbrellas. The backpack could fit a beanie baby or similar sized stuffed animal (probably more than one) but never a full-sized stuffed animal unless you really crammed it in. We wanted this for our 2 and 1/2 year-old because she has an ever-growing posse of stuffed animals that MUST travel with us whenever we leave the house. It's always cumbersome to carry the posse everywhere and worry about losing one of these absolutely essential creatures. My husband and I live in absolute fear of anything happening to one very special stuffed animal in particular who is with her 24/7. We figured maybe we could free up hands and purse space (and mental space) by having her carry the animals herself, zipped securely in a backpack. She's a big Peppa fan so we had high hopes for this backpack. Sadly, this backpack won't fit the bill for us. The backpack would fit a few coloring books, some crayons and maybe a small snack. That's probably what most parents are looking for anyway. Overall it's very cute and if you have a Peppa the Pig fan in your life they'll love this backpack regardless of whether they can fit the things you want in it. We'll keep ours for a Christmas gift and have Santa fill it with books.

Convertible Back Pack Purse, Mid Size Tear Drop Shoulder Bag, Backpack, Sling Bag. Genuine Leather

When I received this as a Christmas gift for my wife she fell in love with it right away.

Then about a week later she noticed a small hole in one of the linings. Well, that one got bigger

and the linings in the other compartments got jealous and decided to tear open also.

Now, all those other compartments just merge into one compartment at the bottom of the bag.

Beware of this bag, it's quality on the outside but junk on the inside.

I bought this for a European trip and while it would be good for every day, it's much to small for a trip like that. It fits small things like a wallet and sunglasses just fine, but there is no room for a water bottle or iPad. I wish retailers would show bags and backpacks on models or mannequins so that we can get a sense of the size.

Leather is thicker than I expected. Its large enough to hold my Kindle which was a major factor for me. The bottom is flat so the purse will stand upright. Several small zipper compartments on the outside of the purse to hold gum, pens and whatever else. The compartment in the front is large enough for keys, smart phone and ciggs and has magnet closure. Unzipping the main strap into two straps allows you to use it as a backpack and free up your hands. I love this purse but don't expect it to be heavy duty like a true backpack, its not large enough for books and the straps don't look that sturdy but as a purse its great! After reading reviews on some of the other leather purses in this price range I was afraid it would smell horrible or the leather would be very mismatched. That was NOT the case, it naturally does have a leather smell but its not overpowering and the leather all matched. The seams appear to be well sewn also. If this changes I will write again. Its worth the price.

What a great bag. I carried this all over France recently. It is the perfect size and with the inside zipper it is very secure for places in France where pickpockets are prevalent. I love the split zipper strap as well; you can carry it on your back or slung over your shoulder. In addition to being perfectly functional, it's cute!

Pros: Bag is well made and durable; casual and good for everyday use. Leather needs to be aired out it, hopefully the unusual, new leather smell goes away in a couple of days; however it if does not then I will try to find something that's good for leather and takes away most of the smell.

Cons: Shipping and packing for the bag it was awful. The bag was folded in half and literally stuffed into a priority envelope yes I said priority envelope, not box. Packing may not matter to some, but to others it may make a difference.

Even though the bag was, fortunately, received in good condition (I read another review that indicated otherwise), I would still recommend this backpack to others. Hopefully the seller will ship and pack the item in the correct size mailer/box for future purchases.

Everything its fine and the backpack its awesome, just the only detail is that they sell this item as a laptop backpack but it doesn't protect the entire computer.

This is advertised as a Laptop Backpack, but when it arrived there was no padding in the backpack for a laptop. The section for the laptop does not extend all the way up. Consider this if you want an small backpack, but if you get this for your laptop do not expect any significant protection.

I have to admit, I was a little worried about this from the reviews I read. I called the company and talked to one of their reps (extremely nice person named Mawar, ask for her if you ever call!) She said that the supplier they used to use was indeed providing low quality bags, but they found a new factory that made the same bag that was a lot better. So I gave it a try. Turns out she was right! When I first got it, I beat the snot out of it. Yanked on the handle, pulled on the pockets and tried to break the plastic thingies on the straps. It held up. And is still holding up a few months later. no problems whatsoever with it. IMO the new ones of these are well worth the money spent.

I bought this backpack in the fall of 2009 for my 8 year old son. He's already getting homework and he needed something that was versatile enough that he could roll it or carry it, based on the weight on any given day.

Well, he rolled it around for about 3 weeks and the handle came apart. What's interesting is that 3 of his classmates have the same backpack and the same thing happened to them as well. In fact, one of them suffered the same fate in just 2 weeks of use.

This meant he had to wear it like a regular backpack permanently. No problem, right? No, big problem. After another 3 weeks one of the straps broke. So now its a one strapped backpack with no handle for rolling.

It's also worth noting that you child WILL be able to feel the metal handle through the pack when its on their back. That means it will hurt MORE than a regular backpack when they wear it.

It has lots of pockets and what not, but the outer fabric gets frayed and ripped pretty easily.

All in all, its a piece of junk. Maybe the worst backpack I've ever seen or had the misfortune to pay for...buyer beware.

I just received my pack in the mail earlier of Friday on-time and undamaged...Unfortunately my favorite color of 'Tac-Black', was out of stock which really disheartened me, but it happens with high-demand and business...[sarc] What's with that anyway?, lol...I been shopping for tactical-gear for 6 {give-or-take} years: and the only color always in stock was Black compared to ACU, Digital Woodland, Coyote-Tan, and so on---even O.D was selling more than Black...and now recently when I go to purchase Black., it is the only color sold-out., hahaha...

So the seller was kind, prompt, and courteous enough to either give me a full refund, or, switch color patterns... and since everywhere I looked on Amazon and off., these packs were going out of stock...I was left with ACU., Digital-Woodland., Tan., and OD to choose from...I cannot stand ACU or Tan., and thus was left with OD and Digi-Woodland...Both of these colors I was weary of., especially O.D which on a vest years ago came as bright "Lime-Green" and not true OD...So I decided on the Digital-Woodland pattern., and the seller was courteous to send it out with no extra charge...I have been sweating it in anxiety waiting for this pack., and today I received it and I was shocked when I opened the box and found this huge pack compacted into a small box---because it is huge[the pictures don't do it justice to the size]...And I must say: for the first time owning a product with the (Digital-Woodland) pattern---I like it!, even more than the previous standard Woodland pattern(s) it replaced...(Digital-Woodland) from my observation: works excellent in complexion-makeup with my Black & Traditional-Woodland BDU's [I like mixing my camo patterns up for a unique-individual guerilla style/feel]...It will as well for Coyote-Tan, Tac-Brown, OD, etc, uniforms and vest/carriers...

I was trying to decide between this pack., and the (Voodoo Matrix) pack... I am glad I went with this one!, and saved some money for other things I needed... This pack., by [Fox-Tactical]!, is simply the best tactical-survival pack on the market...It's roomy and large[a true 3 day pack., some say 3 day but might get a 1-2 days into it]..As well in being built with massive (M.O.L.L.E) webbing on the outside + sides + back & on the shoulder straps., which is why I purchased this pack as my (Maxpedition Condor II) was to small despite being Level.III rating...There are 6 compartments in question., with 3 of them being the 1 large + 2 medium., and each compartment has its own extra accessory/utility compartment-pouches within that for item-placement...You have your large main zippered compartment., and then a medium zippered compartment in front of that., and then a medium zippered Hydration & Storage compartment in the very back facing your back...And then you have a rectangular zippered pouch on the bottom below the medium front compartment., and two small accessory-utility pouches with 1 on each outer side---all with (M.O.L.L.E) webbing for additional gear...

The quality of the material is well stitched for being durable and strong., yet in-being light, thin, flexible, soft, expandable, etc... I searched all over for any loose strings and nothing...I loaded my gas-mask pouch., and recon butt-pack., two 40mm grenade pouches., my dump pouch., and MOLLE fanny-pack onto it---with still some room to spare elsewhere...and of-which combined., the added pouches gave few pound noticeable weight added to the pack... and then I with decent force: I violently shook the pack in the air all over and everything was flapping around without any tear in the webbing or material---so this put me at ease in feeling this pack will hold up under pressure when fully loaded and put under physical scrutiny... One of the initial reasons I was weary of this pack., after reviewing on You-Tube: was statements regarding the supportive "waist-band/strap/padding" not being removable---but only fixed to the pack itself...another fact., was my weariness of the waist-strap/band/belt in sizing to fit different waist-girths: fearing if being a fixed waste-strap and to small---that I would've had to modify it to fit me [and I am running low on surplus material, lol]...Luckily that weariness was out to rest...

Not only is the 'waist-strap/belt/band/pad' adjustable up to about size 60" inch waist/stomach/mid-section...But the entire waist-belt is removable altogether {at least on this Fox-Tactical version} from the pack., and is held only together by Velcro fastening within an enclosed padded region near the bottom...Simply un-velcro the waist-belt system and pull it either way outside of the enclosed belt-loop., and it's off...So this pack without a doubt will fit say up to 3xl-4xl larger sized people easily., with and without the belt-band/waist-strap pad...

The zippers on the pack are pretty good quality as well., thick and hard yet still easily unzip-able., and feel they wont rip, snag, or break loose, etc...There are actually 3 zippers on each compartment., giving variety of methods of opening and closing the pack., which is a nice feature., especially in case one of them do break...

And as you can see from pictures I uploaded...I modded a suspension support system for my MOLLE fanny-back attached on the lower compartment., with some extra cut-up Nylon webbing and quick-release buckles., and some snap buttons cut-off from my old (OE-Tech OTV) plate-carrier deltoid/upper-arm protectors...and fixed-attached via weaving with some plastic strap-loop clips on the bottom MOLLE row on the pack below my butt-pack---so all I have to do is use the quick-release buckles to access the bottom pack compartment...The problem I had was the fanny-pack was flopping around everywhere and clinking and clanking., like a cowboy on a horses saddle...I feared this would possibly tear the MOLLE webbing., stitching., and actual pack-material itself if loaded and put under pressure flapping around uncontrollably like that...So now that problem is alleviated by utilizing the pack itself as a support-chassis to enhance the stability of the fanny pack from shifting all over the place., from top-too-bottom and side-too-side and every way in-between., and doing catastrophic damage to the backpack: as well getting snagged on things., and allowing me more weight-capacity to be added...

The only other problem I had with this pack., was simply the plastic back-support piece which contained a long thin supportive sheet of steel from top-too-bottom in length down the middle., which bent in half [and my pack bent along with it and non-straightening] like a pyramid shape., and only after about 25 minutes of carefully inch-by-inch tugging it out---did I decide to leave the plastic back-support sheet out for good., to be replaced by another hydration blatter in the nylon velcroed plate-sheath...

All-and-All!, I am extremely pleased with this pack., of-which is based on Voodoo's (Tobago) pack...Next month I was planning on purchasing a (Voodoo-Matrix) pack., but I might just get another one of these in Black if it's in stock., or another Digi-Woodland if not...This as of now is my 'Munitions-Combative-Survival' pack., to be worn with my plate-carrier...My (Maxpedition Condor II) pack will now be my 'survival-only' pack which I will use to build my bug-out bag for Food, Water, Misc-Electronic Items[power-cords, extra batteries, etc], Medical-Aid, etc, and so on...The pack next month will be used for everyday luggage of items such as clothes, music player, hydration, etc...This a fantastic pack., and in my opinion: no better., if few., ones on the market from what I see...you cannot go wrong with it for the price-too-performance, size capacity, modular adaptability, etc...

If you purchased the hard vinyl flip cover for your iPad this product is too small. The zipper is shorter than other laptop sleeves I have seen and therefore it's not easy getting the iPad inside because the opening is too small. I do like the design and will use it to store other items.

I love the design! I think it's great, but I don't believe it's a true 8-10. My netbook is about 10 maybe a little bigger and I can get it in but it's a tight fit. I think I'll probably get something a little more roomy.

I bought this last minute for my 10.1in asus netbook before going backpacking and hiking. It's nothing special but it was perfect for what I needed a cover for my computer so it would not get scratched when tossed in my backpack. I think it's a "fits most" style. There is no side pocket at anything for extra stuff you might want near your computer at all times. However there is extra room inside in the case (with my 10.1 in asus) so I actually had space to keep the power cord in there with the computer, as to not loose it.

Maxpedition Pygmy Falcon-II Backpack

The Maxpedition Pygmy Falcon-II Backpack is a great pack. It provides typical Maxpedition quality in a rugged, well designed, extremely strong and durable product that has MOLLE attachments to add gear as necessary.

The Pygmy Falcon-II Backpack is great for day hikes and even minimalist over night camping where water will not be an issue. It holds approximately 1400 cubic inches of gear which should be plenty for a day hike. With a thin profile you will be able to trail blaze through bush with no problem. The "Y" compression strap helps to keep everything in place.

Side Pouches

The side pockets will each hold a 32 oz. Nalgene bottle. If water is going to be an issue this pack may not be your first option since it is not very compatible for a hydration system. But you do have options...if water is an issue you can always attach one or two Maxpedition Mini Rollypoly Folding Dump Pouch which will each hold a 32 oz. Nalgene bottle. You have just doubled your water capability. The modularity offers many configurations depending on your needs.

Shoulder Straps

The shoulder straps are well padded and capable of attaching a 4" or 5" flashlight sheath and a single sheath for a multi-tool. These add ons are also available from Maxpedition and are well worth the price. It comes with a chest strap for added comfort.

Main Compartment

The main compartment is a nice size and opens with two zippers in a clam shell fashion allowing you to completely open the pack to get what you need as opposed to taking out all of your gear to find the needed item. The main compartment is large enough to hold a first aid kit, pocket rocket with fuel, food, extra socks, a light jacket and more.

Front Pouch and Slip Pocket

The front pouch will hold a lot of your smaller gear and the slip pocket will hold thin items such as a map, compass, fleece hat, headlamp, etc.

Maxpedition products are designed for hard use, durability and a long product life. Many of the other larger companies cannot and do not match the quality of Maxpedition. I highly recommend the Maxpedition Pygmy Falcon-II Backpack.

This is a perfect pack! I have Blackhawk bags, packs and cases, Camelbak packs, Tumi bags, etc. but Maxpedition is what I use on a day to day basis. I purchased a Maxpedition bag almost a year ago and started using it for a computer case. I liked it so much I gave away my leather Tumi computer case! I got rid of other computer cases. I then purchased another Maxpedition case and started using it as a range bag. I then gave my other three Blackwater bags to family members for their range bags and kept the Maxpedition for myself. I then purchased a PYGMY Falcon II backpack and carried it for times when I go hiking, etc. It's like a day pack on steroids and has a perfect balance and ability to load the gear without hassle. It's not a large or small pack, but more of a medium pack. I don't use it daily, but I have smaller Maxpedition bags and cases that carry things like phone chargers, notebooks, etc. and move them from bag to bag depending upon the need. If you see me I'll have a Maxpedition pack, bag or case nearby, carrying anything from a computer for work, stuff to take on the range or whatever I need. They just work...and work well!

I was excited at first when I ordered this backpack. I had intended on using it for hikes and other outdoors activities. However, I was surprised when it arrived that the photo was not representative of the actual color. For this item, the title does not match the photographyou are going to receive a SUPER green backpack, not a lighter grey/green item.

Additionally, the dimensions seemed massivethe website lists it, however in person it seemed even bigger. The material was rough, felt thin and tacky, and there was a disappointing lack of features inside the backpack to warrant its high price. I tried the backpack out by stuffing it and wearing it a bitI'm tall but a bit on the stocky frame, the backpack looked large and ungainly on me, was not particularly comfortable. So for me, it was a no go, and I returned it.

The pro's are that if you don't care too much about organization, you can stuff quite a bit into the backpack. You lose the rectangular look if you overstuff however, and that in the future will cause heavy sagging and stretch out the bag. So just be careful!

this pack is OK, but before you buy, consider a few of my beefs, and take the 'flexibility' or 'durability' claims with a grain of salt:

1. zippers are not as rugged to match the hype of this gear's 'durability'

2. you can see through the fabric from the inside of the pack to the outside on the side panels

3. there is a handle, but no way to stow or remove the shoulder straps quite annoying!

4. mismatched zippers (dualand single-zipper arrangements)

5. missing tabs for d-rings on bottom of pack

6. inability to remove bottle sacks on sides of the pack

7. insanely expensive accessories

8. obfuscated, hidden warranty info on manufacturer's site (you won't find it through one or two mouse clicks or a search)

9. 'lifetime' warranty has many caveats with a minefield of exclusions (IOW, not a 'no-questions-asked warranty')

i got around a few of the limitations by going to alternative manufacturers for accessories (pouches, etc.); i also installed some D-rings, and will have to install at least two more underneath the pack to allow flexibility in carry of clothing, tarp, or other round items

in all, this product does suit my needs, but it is not perfect; on the plus side, the pack does supports Molle gear and snap pouches; there are at least four areas for these accessories; i would have liked to see some velcro strap attachment points, but that's just a personal pref

it's a smallish pack, but can hold enough stuff for a weekend or outing on the trail or pier; we'll see how the material holds up, but i fear for the thin fabric on the side panels

I have had many different brands, some good, some bad but very few were great. The Maxpedition Pygmy Falcon II lands in the great range. Design, function, durability all excellent. The available pouches and accessories make it completely customizable. I carry this pack every day and I have never owned a pack I like better. I am very particular and an admitted gear junky and I cannot think of anything I would change. Beware once you get the pack in your hands you will want all the accessories to go with it and will spend as much on them as you did the pack. I did! No regrets!
