Boston Red Sox Navy Blue MLB Sling Bag

Boston Red Sox Navy Blue MLB Sling BagThe zipper on the back pack is broken already. My son is in kindergarten and he carries one small notebook to school in it. I noticed it had a tear in it the other day and now the zipper is just gone. He has only used it about 4 or 5 times.

We bought this for an 11 year old. He loves it, there is plenty of space for all his school supplies and a great number of pockets both big and small. Great gift for a young Sox fan!

Nice-looking backpack for the die-hard Red Sox fans. I gave mine as a gift, so I can't attest to the durability of the material. It is a bit smaller than I had anticipated, but seems to be plenty of storage space,

Walt Disney Nightmare Before Christmas Jack Carryout Tote Bag

Walt Disney Nightmare Before Christmas Jack Carryout Tote BagIts a little smaller than I thought it was going to be. I was going to put my 12 inch laptop in it but it doesn't fit. Which is the whole reason I bought it but I love it its super cute. It reminds me of a lunch bag on the inside its got that white fabric like a lunch pale.

Incase Nylon Backpack (Aubergine/Electric Orange)

Incase Nylon BackpackThis backpack is great for a student looking to carry their laptop and a book or two around with them. It is not especially roomy, but I do not have any books that will not fit in it. All of the different pockets and such give you lots of versatility with arranging your stuff and the faux fur lined laptop section keeps my MacBook Pro from getting damaged. The laptop section also is vented on the sides so a hot laptop can cool down easier. This is a great backpack and Incase is a great brand in general.

Diego Plush Backpack Animal Rescuer

Diego Plush Backpack Animal RescuerMy little Diego lover loved this one. The velcro closure doesn't hold tight, but it is good enough to hold a teddy and few match boxes!!!

This little backpack is just like Diego's except it has 2 backpack straps instead of 1 sling. However, we heard there are safety issues with the other one and prefer this one. It's durable, soft, just the right size for a 3 year old. Highly recommended for Diego fans.

Very cute! My son loves it, He is almost three and it is a good size for him, and has plenty of growing room. Great for carry around their prized posessions, but not big enough for a school back pack. If that is what your looking for, it's perfect!

My Little Pony 10" Mini Backpack

My Little Pony 10' Mini BackpackMy 5 year old loved it. It's not large enough to hold a take home folder in, but, it's perfect for her to use as her lunch box.

My daughter is obsessed with My Little Pony so when her lunch box got destroyed I bought this. It is the perfect size and fits right inside her backpack. While it isn't isulated or anything, it is still ok for her to use for say a turkey sandwich with an ice pack in it because she eats lunch around 11, if it needs to stay cold much longer than that, you may want to find one that has some insulation.

This is big enough to fit about three changes of clothes, a pair of shoes, and a little plush pony for my 3T sized daughter. The workmanship on this little backpack is actually really nice, my child has been been carrying it around for almost 4 months and it is showing no signs of wear and tear. The zipper pull is metal, but the teeth are plastic. The image is very clear, and shimmery, not cheap looking at all. The back is lavender with light pink adjustable straps, and other than the rubbery plastic front image the whole thing is made of a tough canvas material. Definitely worth the money, and the kiddo loves it!

Pacsafe TravelSafe 20L Portable Safe & Bag Insert

Pacsafe Travelsafe Portable Safe Travel accessories 20L BlackI've been using a smaller PacSafe portable "safe" for several years. It has become so worn that the steel mesh is wearing through the fabric and the some of the strands in the steel cable are broken which regularly poke my fingers. It looks like it's falling apart but it's still just as secure as the day I bought it. These things are tough. It's a great feeling to lock up expensive items and not worry about them. I know four people who bought PacSafe bags after I showed them how well it worked.

PacSafe has made some improvements. The steel cable used to pass through the top of the steel mesh under the fabric. This could invisibly break or fool thieves into thinking they could just cut the fabric around the cable. Now they wind the cable through ten external steel-reinforced holes which makes the cable completely visible and more intimidating to a thief with a knife or scissors. It also puts no strain on the internal mesh and the fabric when pulling the locking "nut" through it. Also the locking "nut" embedded in the cable which the system completely relies on is now steel instead of nylon which makes it harder to damage with a tool or simply melt off with a lighter.

One added feature is straps with snaps that keep the bag "deflated" for storage or transportation. The steel mesh will want to expand the bag to its maximum size and these straps will keep it compact.

The only missing feature is a hole on the bottom to attach the free end of the cable to. With older smaller bags this turned the cable into an uncomfortable but usable shoulder strap with a sliding fabric sleeve so you wouldn't have the cable cutting into you (so much). I was also able to use this hole to attach a much more comfortable camera strap which turned it into a camera bag. With this model, the steel cable just dangles uselessly whenever the bag is open. There is no handle or strap which makes it very awkward to lift and carry with heavy contents. Even a simple handle would have made this a five-star product.

One thing they didn't improve is the protection of the ends of the cable. They still use rubber shrink tubing which will eventually expand and tear, exposing the end of the cable which has pointy strands.

I purchased this bag for a trip to the Bahamas so we could leave whatever valuables and gear in a beach bag attached to lawn chairs at the pool and go where we wanted to. The bag was fulfilled it's purpose keeping our gear safe for hours and left me not worrying about our stuff like used to do on vacation.

This bag is very large. I had debated between the 12L and this 20L. If you just want to store a couple of tablets and a non-DSLR camera you can do it easily in the 12L I am sure. See others reviews to see what you think. I believe them. The 20L is almost like a grocery bag in size and takes up most of a large beach bag if you do what we did and 'hide' it inside there. I was able to fit two sets of goggles, snorkels, a travel zoom camera and had enough room to easily house a laptop computer or any number of other items. Two or three people could easily keep all their key valuables in here. I think it would even hold two 15 inch laptops with some room to spare.

The build quality is great and I genuinely felt it did the job. The wire mesh goes all the way to the top and the cable is a solid deterrent to theft. The lock mechanism is easy to figure out and use once you read the instructions. We were able to put the bag inside a less conspicuous beach bag and then just put the cable out the side. It had enough length that I could run the cable down and around two lawn chairs and still bring it back up to the lock part easily with some slack.

One could argue that the mesh holes are large enough that someone with a knife could get a camera or a phone out of it. To me, that's not what this thing defends against. It's not invincible. It's a deterrent. A thief is not likely to want to spend a lot of time trying to saw a hole in your bag when he doesn't even know what's in there. Someone genuinely determined could of course get a good pair of bolt cutters and run off with it, but that's going to be noticeable unless you leave it unattended at night or something.

All-in-all a great product that gave us great piece of mind. I opted for the 20L because I thought I might need the room and it was only about 10-15 dollars more. I wound up using the room, but I might also get the 12L for lighter trips. I like this product and vendor that much.

Great for what it is. You know the old saying that locks only protect you from basically honest people. Bought for overseas trip, and used it daily to lock up camera equipment in room while out, also good for cruise ship travel; I suffered no losses and it worked perfectly. It did give me a high degree of "peace of mind" which is invaluable. Bag is well made and should last a lifetime. It effectively stops the sneak thief, pilferers, maid/yard man theft, and the quick snatch. But really all you need is a good set of wire snips to get into it. On the up side,1] out of sight out of mind, 2] it sends 95% of travel thieves to the next car or room for the "easy prey". Yes I would buy it again and I will continue to use it

I rated this bag as ok because I don't know if it work as no one tried to steal or get into it which is a good thing. I will give you what I feel are the pro's and con's. We bought 2 of these for vacation. I put one in the rental car, wrapped it around the seat frame, and put the mat over it. With tinted windows you could not see it. The other one I secured around the hotel safe. Split valubales between me and my wife for security purposes. I would say this was a good investment.

Pros:

Easy to use

Long cable that allows you to wrap around just about anyting.

Comes with a lock.

Takes a beating.

Fits in luggage.

Cons:

One of the inside wires was broken and scratched the lens on my camera.

Wire cable should be thicker. You could cut this cable with wire cutters.

Lock could be bigger. I used my own.

Just got back from the Islands and used this everyday to hold camera, iPad, wallets, passports, and jewelry while in our room. We also used it in our automobile when we went to the beach, hooking the cable onto the inside of the trunk for an extra measure of safety. Peace of mind is worth the cost. Once you get the hang of the locking mechanism, and that isn't that difficult, you'll travel much more safely.

Dakine 28-Litre Quest Pack (Black, 19.5 x 12.5 x 9-Inch)

Dakine 28-Litre Quest PackI have spent a lot of time (over a month) researching camera daypacks and from all that I gathered, this is the most complete camera daypack available. Unfortunately it still isn't perfect, but as you will see all over the internet, no camera bag is. To me it seems like camera bag manufacturers are trying to create both "pro" camera bags and walk around bags in the same bag, and it just isn't working. A walk around bag doesn't need to be super deep or hold an entire collection of lenses, and it would benefit from common "regular" backpack amenities such as extra pockets or even separate places to put pens. I'll break down all this bag has to offer and where it falls short as I see it.

-Look --

This bag looks great. Especially compared to the Lowepro Fastpacks (similarly designed) which just scream camera backpack to me. This bag looks like a somewhat average backpack. I'm 5'9" and when starting at the top of my neck it ends just above my waistline. It is a bit deep (9") for my liking, but I get the sense that most camera backpacks are these days.

-Comfort --

The bag is very comfortable when lightly packed. The more weight you add exponentially makes it less comfortable due to its size. The straps are padded nicely but once enough weight is added the hard edges of the straps begin to dig in and cause discomfort.

-Regular Compartments --

The laptop compartment will hold a 17" macbook pro (15.5" x 10.5") without having it protrude from the top as would be expected. Most 15.4" laptop PCs are about this same size so they should fit as well as long as they are not more than an inch thick. The laptop compartment has a lightly padded sleeve built in for the laptop as well as room outside the sleeve for other things (this will help keep spiral notebooks off your computer). There is also a small zippered pouch on the opposite side of the laptop sleeve which is relatively small but could possibly hold a power cords or extra accessories.

The front-top compartment has a couple little pockets, a large pocket, and a small zippered mesh pocket as well as a card holder. This area is great for small notebooks, or possibly an iPad mini, as well as zip drives and other knick knacks. There are no pen pockets but I just clipped mine onto the main pocket and it worked just as well.

In front of this compartment is a small felt lined pocket for valuables. It's not really big so I don't believe many sunglasses will fit but iPods, phones and other small valuables can be put here.

The rear-top compartment is the largest of the regular compartments. This one is very spacious and able to hold a couple sweaters or a few bottles of water and lunch. There are no extra pockets inside this one.

-Camera Compartment --

The camera compartment is okay, not great. It's pitfall is the dividers, the side opening, and the material used. The dividers are well built but poorly designed. They, along with the whole camera section, lack enough velcro to really customize the layout of your camera space. This would have been fixed if they just lined the entire inside with that felt material most other bag companies use instead of nylon. Also they are a little long, forcing the back of your camera to slightly protrude from the container. You could probably make your own dividers or find extras, which could help alleviate this problem, but for $200 I would expect more. The entire compartment is a pod that is (not easily) removable and built with hard plastic instead of padding for the walls. This makes the backpack unable to fold in and really hug your equipment to prevent it shifting around due to the compartment's depth. The whole thing seems pretty strong however and very protective, just not what I was hoping for.

Although I do not have a 70-200mm lens to test with, there seems to be enough room to fit one inside along with other smaller lenses or accessories.

The side entrance is nice but not the easiest to get into. There is an extra flap inside that was probably meant as extra protection, but seems to just get in the way. A gripped camera will not fit through the side entrance. This wouldn't bother me much except for the fact that they decided to make the camera compartment very deep (9 inches). If the side entrance wont fit a gripped camera then why make the compartment deep enough for one? I guess you could fit more lenses by turning them facing out, but since I am only looking for a daypack, I wouldn't be carrying my entire collection and this makes the backpack stick out a little far causing discomfort (explained under 'Comfort') while carrying it fully loaded. There are also small pockets on the inside of the main flap which are somewhat tight for filters or memory cards but should do the job.

-Extra Features --

The side opposite of the camera side-entrance has a hidden bottle holder zipped away. This is a really nice feature since most bottle holders (in my opinion) ruin the appearance of backpacks.

Beside the bottle holder is a very nice tripod system. There is a small zippered pocket above this that contains the strap to secure the tripod to the backpack. This is great for light tripods or monopods but anything heavier or larger greatly offsets the bag creating more discomfort. Luckily this is a snowboarding backpack so the 2 snowboard straps across the front of the backpack can also be used to carry the heavier tripods and avoid awkward weight distribution.

The backpack also comes with a deployable rain cover that is not attached. I like that it isn't so that you can stow it away easier or replace it if its damaged.

The waist strap is removable and comfortable. Although it is very stiff, once it's broken in and more pliable this becomes a great feature for the backpack. It also has a chest strap which is nice. The top snowboard strap and tripod strap are both able to be hidden.

Also as long as the camera compartment pod is inserted, the bag will stand up on it's own.

-Conclusion --

In the end I give it 3 stars because of its lack of customization, its discomfort even when not fully packed, and its unnecessarily deep camera compartment. This is not a bad backpack, nor is it poorly made. If you are still unsure if this is the pack for you I suggest you try it for yourself and then decide.

I use this pack for my DJ equipment, such as all my microphones, my laptop, and other smaller items. I even use the stand holder on the side for my portable microphone stand. I would buy this again if I lost it or something happened to it. Very high quality and comfortable.

Tumi Alpha Compact Laptop Briefcase Pack

Tumi Alpha Compact Laptop Briefcase Pack,Black, one sizeI suspect this is a new design that appears in the Tumi Alpha collection. After some searching, I have never come up with anything like it in the Gen. 4 lineup.

It is plenty roomy and but does not have the same bulk of the Alpha Business Class backpack. The side pockets align more closely to the main body than on the Business Class. So, when the pack is called "compact", it seems that is relative to the Business Class, which is also a nice item.

If you note the side view, the zippers of the main compartment do a kind of a "turn" towards the back as they near the top, This is nice because it makes for easy access to the padded laptop section, and a very nice wide opening to the main compartment.

The file folders are removable, but the laptop compartment is not (in other words, it is not a sleeve like some models). I like this more for my personal use. It will fit my laptop which is 14.88 inches wide, but that is pretty much the outside limit in size.

I think they found a really nice balance between size and capacity, and again, if you note the side view, you will see a bit of a taper towards the top, so it sits very well without being liable to tip over.

I plan on using it in a work setting, and have no concern about looking less than professional when going to a meeting. Maybe the leather is a bit excessive, but to me it adds quite a bit to the pro feel of the luggage. A nylon backpack is too much of a college look for my tastes. Some older Tumi backpacks had a zip-around cap on the top, which looks awkward in comparison to this sleek baby.

With all new leather goods, a leather conditioner makes a big difference. Put it on before you use the item, and every 12-18 months thereafter, depending on wear, use, and climate.

It is expensive, as you notice! However, it should last 20 years if you use a good conditioner, so that is $35 per year, not figuring time value of money.

In that light, this pack and all other expensive Tumi items are actually a steal.

All in all, an easy 5-star and worth every penny.

I didn't purchase this through Amazon. I was driving around sandestin florida and i ran into this strip of outlett stores and there was a tumi store. I had eyeballed this backpack online a year or so ago and unfortunately I wound up buying some other no name very average leather backpack on amazon because the tumi was just a wee bit hard to justify price wise.... Not trying to brag but I own bags from waterfield, booq, northface, tenba, and buggati but i just felt like this tumi leather backpack was the one that got away. When I saw it in person. Oh I knew it..I felt it...it was the one!! Looking at it online doesn't do it any justice and guess what? I got it for so much cheaper than $599. I got a deal, i had to pull the trigger on this one. Some people would say this is excessive but I don't care. If you want high end, here it is. To me, Tumi represents some of the best bags available and I pretty much agree with the two other reviews for this bag.

I will say that the left side pocket has a small filter and its good for wet umbrella or even a drink because any moisture will evaporate through that tiny filter. The file folders inside are removable but I dig this feature and I really like the pockets up front. I can quickly store belongings and even my belt in these pockets before going through security check at an airport. There's also a cable bag inside u can store p/s or cables.

And backpacks aren't usually considered professional but I would say this one is.

Another nice thing is that tumi provides a recovery program for their bags in case the bag is ever lost or stolen and someone recovers it. I just think its nice they offer that service complimentary. Also it comes with a very fair warranty for the first year worry free and yrs 2-5 covered for any defects.

Anyway, I'm using this for my 10 inch asus laptop, my panaonic G2 which sits snug with another lens in a lowpro case, and my 7 inch tablet, and other accessories ie ipod, full size headphones, ext 2.5 hd, etc. I even have room for paperback book and with all of that, it doesn't weigh a bunch. Also, when the back pack isn't in use, it comes with a dust cover. I also bought the leather conditioner while I was there. You definitely want to keep this bag nice. I believe this bag will last me for years to come.

to be fair the review is about the brand and not on this specific backpack.

I bought a TUMI backpack after a recommendation from a friend that mentioned there is life time warranty on it (to justify the 200$ price tag).

I decided its a good deal since I was confident I will be able to keep this bag our of harms way as far as external damages.

4+ years gone by the bag started to show some chewing done by the teeth of time from normal use and I decided to go to your friendly neighborhood TUMI store, pay a fee of 15$ for the shipping to TUMI "labs" in order to get the bag fixed or replaced. got a letter a week later asking me to contact them in 30 days or they ship the bag back "as is". (no phone call follow up god forbid in spite of the fact they get all your details when you ship it back).

the lady informed me the model I had only covered by warranty for 3 years... and other than that they cant repair the bag damage.

the only option the way they see it is for me to purchase another back at a discount.

now all that was good and nice if it was the redbull bag I bought in Thailand at 2001 for 10$ (that didn't have any damage since then by the way) but its a 200$ investment we talking about here.

the lady kindly corrected me it was 189$..

of course the fact I bought the bag in Manhattan in which you pay sale tax is not something TUMI cares to much about.

I let her know they can throw the bag and that I will make sure not me or anyone else I know will purchase their overpriced bags again, and its not because the product is not good I honestly liked it while I used it but because a company that charge so much premium for a mass manufactured product has no right to exist with this type of service.

so if you are about to buy a TUMI product I implore you to factor this incident in your decision and learn from my experience.

All the Best

p.s.

im writing a brand review here since the "Share your opinion on this brand" is in BETA and not working at the moment.

The backpack looks great the build quality is exactly what one would expect from Tumi. For me, it was a little too small. Both the main compartment and the laptop section seemed a little small (guess that is why it is called "compact"). In fact, my 15" Macbook Pro was a little too snug in its section.

I returned the item and bought the business class T-pass backpack from a local Tumi store (same price). That suits my needs much better. The laptop section folds out completely for seamlessly traversing airline security. The main compartment is separate (as opposed to the compact) and holds more items.

That said, the Compact does have more individual compartments and does contain a removeable file folder. That does make it a little desireable if the size is not an issue for you.

LICENCE 71195 Nordic Hybrid Shoulder Bag, Brown

LICENCE 71195 Nordic Hybrid Shoulder Bag, BrownThis bag is totally different than how it looks on this site. If you want a clearer view go to the seller's original website. I got it for my husband thinking it stay upright on its own. I also thought it was smaller than the span of his back. I am ending up wearing it because it looks like a large purse. It doesn't stand up on its own making it look even more like a woman's bag and the over the shoulder strap is about a foot long. I tried to return it or at least exchange it but with being a Canadian company it was about $30.00 to ship and they have a 10% if not more restocking fee. We ended up using it for traveling. I carried it and it did fit an amazing amount of stuff in it. However if you are looking for a messenger/backpack hybrid that is manly this is not it. This zippers are really good but the stitching is already coming undone around the straps. I am disappointed on many levels with this bag.

Seattle Sports Evolution Reign Backpack

Seattle Sports Evolution Reign BackpackI bike commute to work, so I needed a bag that was water resistant, could quickly swing over my shoulder, and that would fit in my bike pannier basket. Pannier bags are just too bulky and not versatile enough for me. The straps are easily adjustable for comfort and it sits well on my back. I even ran a mile with it with no issues. The pocket in front is adequate for quick access. Closing the backpack takes a few extra seconds to squeeze out the air to roll the top of the bag, but it will definitely keep the contents dry. I would have liked to have had side mesh pockets. I can also see myself hiking and kayaking with this. Also sold at REI. Overall, I'm pleased.

Thule EnRoute Mosey Daypack for 15-Inch MacBook Pro and 10-Inch Tablets - Black (TEMD-115)

Thule EnRoute Mosey Daypack for 15-Inch MacBook Pro and 10-Inch Tablets - BlackSo after discovering this pack on Thule's website, I was nervous that I could not find a review on it ANYWHERE, I ultimately purchased it from Amazon, and below are my first impressions

One of the first things I did was load it up with essentials, 15" Macbook Pro Retina, Nexus 7 tablet, car adapter, rain jacket, snacks, Nikon D5200 SLR w 18-200mm lens, SB-400 flash (in the crush proof pocket). Macbook chager (in the other crush proof pocket), everything fit great, and the pack was surprisingly comfortable with about 20lbs of gear in it. I really like how it sits close on my shoulders, should be great for motorcycle rides in the spring.

Since I will use this pack with a lot of electronics I did a quick weather test, I filled the main pocket with a beach towel, and I stuffed paper towels in all the critical areas, then I put it on and stood in the shower on full blast for 5 minutes. Here are the results.

Top compartment (zipper on very top of bag) = Soaked

Crush Proof pockets = little leakage, just slightly damp

Inside the main compartment: laptop area = bone dry

Tablet area = bone dry

very bottom of pack (where the beach towel was) = very wet, not quite soaked.

Since I plan on taking my DSLR in this pack I am going to purchase this to keep it dry and protected http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004S7ZVQO/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I kow this isn't advertised as a waterproof pack, but the wickening of the faberic performed well, and if caught in a downpour your electronics should be safe.

Overall I am very satsified with my purchase, it's the perfect size / comfort / styling for an urban daypack.

Enough features to be an urban pack, and enough room to be an overnight (or gym) pack. This Thule pack is very well-made. The material has a tough feel but sophisticated look. The zippers are strong and there are no seams for them to catch on (a pet peeve of mine). Here's the run-down on functions and storage...

Your computer will go in an inside pocket at the back of the pack. The laptop slot, which fits my 13" MBA very easily, is padded on all sides (including the bottom of the pack), except for the top which is open and does not have any closure. The top of the pack cinches down to keep the laptop in place, but when the bag is open, you will need to be careful to no let your laptop slide out.

Your iPad will go in a shallow pocket attached to the laptop pocket, This one is not padded on the front and will leave the top of your large iPad sticking out a few inches.

The rest of the inside of the pack is cavernous. I was able to fit three days worth of clothes for a recent car-camping trip.

On the inside front of the pack there are three pockets (one large and secured with a small piece of velcro, and two unsecured smaller pockets. I struggled to find a good use for the larger (4" x 11") pocket, but ended up using it for snacks and power bars. A charger didn't quite work for me there. It was too bulky and caused the bag to slouch over too much. The two smaller pockets are good for your phone and a couple of cords.

There is a good-sized pocket and zippered mesh pocket on the top of the bag. This is where I ended up putting my charger and cords. Keys and wallet can go in the zippered mesh pocket (there is a key chain holder there). The mesh pocket would also be a great place for toiletries.

On each side of the pack there is a reinforced zippered pocket that is designed for sunglasses or your phone. The inside is a soft, felt-like material. There is no dedicated media port, but the top of the zipper would allow you to pass a headphone cord through. The sunglass pockets are very well reinforced and are a nice, well-designed feature. Won't quite fit goggles, however.

Below each sunglass pocket is a water bottle pocket. Fits your typical 0.5L water bottle fine. The good news is that it also fits a 1 L Nalgene-type bottle without any trouble. The depth of the pocket holds the water bottle in place. The fabric around the bottle stretches, so your bottle is secure whether it is 0.5 or 1 L.

That's it for pockets. There is a total of 7 lashing points on the front of the pack. I use small caribiners to hang my flashlight, headlamp, and other items. One complaint about the pack is that the latch to secure the top of the pack is very subject to slipping out. It is a passive, pass-through latch that has a tendency to work its way out. I found myself resetting that latch way too frequently. Why not use a more secure latch? I'm guessing it would have taken away from the sleek look of the bag. Still, I would rather not have to mess with the latch so frequently, especially with my laptop counting on it staying secure. This bag is also lacking a waste strap. The sternum strap is fine, but if you load this up, it will start bearing down on your shoulders. There is generally very little in the way of adjustments, particularly at the shoulder, and you cannot cinch the contents down to make them more balance or secure.

Overall a good bag that tries to balance looks with functionality. I overall prefer my North Face day pack for its overall versatility, but this bag is very nice as a relatively simple pack that you can just toss stuff into and go.

I'm very pleased to have this pack for an unusual use. I do genealogy work, have for decades, and the materials are valuable. I'm too old to reproduce it. This pack becomes my travel pack for daytrips or weekends to sites, libraries, cemeteries, and even the document rich courthouse. It's nice to have all the electronics and materials in one pack to pass through courthouse security easily.

My bag is gray, and the color is a few tones lighter than the Amazon image appears, FYI for those color conscious.

My adaption shows the versatility for this item.

1.....Main compartment is large enough to hold my laptop and a full 3" thick 3-ring binder of data. A separate compartment, with protective padding between holds my KindleFire easily. Between these larger compartments is an 8"x8" sleeve that can hold a ready supply of new charts. On the front of this main partition is 4 additional sleeve pockets two 4"x6 ½" and two 4"x5". These hold pencils, erasers, highlighters, scissors, extra batteries, flash drives, discs, and even coins to pay for copies (thus the convenience for passing through security, jeans pockets empty, it's all in the bag.)

As duel protection, a drawstring nylon top can be optionally closed over the inside contents prior to lowering the top flap and securing it with a fool-proof strap clasp.

2.....The lid that covers and secures tight over this compartment has 2 of its own zippered places, one inside the other. One holds my snacks, a net portion, which also has an attached short strap with a metal clip to secure a valuable like a camera or keys. The larger compartment I carry 5"x*' pads of paper for notes.

3.....The front has 2 (one each side) stiff sided zippered storage units that easily hold anything 3"x6"x2", and the locations where I keep a camera (fast use) and cell phone. I also keep a spare pair of glasses there (yes, I have lost a pair in the grass before.) Below these pockets are sleeves with an elastic open top that holds water bottles and/or a slender coffee thermos for me (and peppermints.) I also carry a damp washcloth in a Ziploc.

4.....There are 7 plastic 2" loops that have yet served no purpose for me.

5.....Padding on the pack's back and straps make it comfortable to carry as a backpack for extended times. A strong nylon loop at the top of the straps allows the pack to easily be carried in one hand, my usual method.

6..... Pack itself weighs less than 1 ½ lbs so carrying load is completely up to the user.

That's just my use, and everyone will be able to adapt this item for their own use.

Perhaps a backpack diaper bag? Overnighter carryon?

Strong construction, as good as I've seen on a pack this size.

It's worth the money to protect valuable electronics and genealogy data.

It will be fun to read reviews in the future and see how many ways this pack has been adapted.

The Thule EnRoute Mosey Daypack is a gorgeous day/backpack and it will draw attention. It's styled like an ultrabook (and sized like one, as well). If you're like me and you carry a laptop, iPad, notebook, external hard drive, and various other vital gear, then you might grow frustrated with the space limitations imposed by the very modest size of this pack. Then again, it is billed as a daypack, and if your adventures don't require you to bring along much more than your computer and a few power bars, then you'll have plenty of room to spare. I somehow manage to make it work, but it's not for everybody.

In terms of overall design and quality of construction, this is unquestionably the nicest bag I have ever owned. Every element--from fabric to zipper pulls--screams "top shelf" and you will never be embarrassed to have this bag slung over your shoulder.

For the price, I don't think there's a better combination of quality, design, and utility out there. Highly recommended.

This bag is a little large overall, but my laptop sits in perfectly in the main compartment and the padded surface of the compartment offers good protection. I use the slip pocket to keep my Kindle Fire.

It comes with two side heat-molded compartments which are known for fragile gears; I keep my cell phone, sunglass and my camcorder. The bag can accommodate all kinds of gear and can take up to fifteen to twenty pounds of electronic paraphernalia. It also has a side pocket on the lower side where I keep my water bottle. One cool thing about this bag is that the padded backpack straps make it easier to carry the load. It is good for camping trip or weekend trips.

The materials are of good quality and the bag is strong, but the snap-in locking mechanism is not user-friendly. I give this product four-star for comfort, design and utility.

Tumi Alpha Bravo Kessler Large Duffel

Tumi Alpha Bravo Kessler Large Duffel, Spruce, MediumI get annoyed every time I try to pack this bag. I've owned it for 2+ years and have lugged it around the world. It's built well and looks great, but it's impossible to pack.

The bag is too tall and too narrow. Most weekenders you can lay folded shirts and slacks flat, but in this bag you can't do that since it's only 6 inches wide. The obvious answer would be to put them in vertically, but that doesn't work because the shoe compartments (with shoes in them) are smack in the middle of the bag, placed vertically. Most shoes are 3-4 inches wide, but the bag is only 6 inches wide. So a normal pair of your average dress shoes end up taking up the usable space. It's sort of like sleeping in the same bed as someone who insists on taking their half out of the middle. It pushes everything else to the edges.

I've for several Tumi bags and this is a great weekend bag. Plenty of space love the outside pockets. Easy use for carryon in overhead bin or under an airplane seat. For storage the bag lays flat.

I love this bag. I travel a lot, hence the reviewer name. This bag is fantastic. It can hold a weekend's worth of clothing. The side pockets are great for lingerie, stocking and accessories. The flat bottom of the bag allows me to back skirts, slack and shirt and not worry about them wrinkling. Light weight, sturdy and my go to bag.

Holds everything, clever design and holds up well! Would highly recommend for any weekend warriors who want something different than the standard-issue black roller.

Just picked this bag up a few weeks after purchasing the smaller alpha bravo laptop bag in green as well...Love the Green / Orange color combo which keeps a masculine look but edgy. Construction of bag as usual with TUMI is beyond satisfactory. Zipper on top is specifically durable which is a good thing. So far so good...my laptop bag of the same Tumi Alpha Bravo line is also equally amazing and durable. Had it since the day it was released last year.

Hope this helps you make the right choice!

Swiss Gear SA1225 Black/Swiss Red/Grey Backpack

Swiss Gear SA1225 Black/Swiss Red/Grey BackpackIt is a great bag! I`ve been using it to go to college classes, and I don`t regret about getting it!

This is a basic backpack to hold stuff, not for laptop or iPad. But if you need a basic pack, you can't go wrong with Swiss Gear. Always good quality IMO.

My son needed another book bag for school. I usually buy him one from Walgreens or Walmart but the last two I have bought have torn up really fast. They will not last for the 1st semester of school. This one is very sturdy and hopefully it will last longer.

Licensed Rovio Angry Birds 16" Large School Backpack Black

Licensed Rovio Angry Birds 16' Large School Backpack BlackWe bought this backpack for my 7 year old son at the beginning of the schoolyear. It is now the end of March and I am doing some long over-due backpack shopping for him because this Angry Birds backpack is literally falling apart (and has been for the last few months). At first, the zipper to the front pocket broke, then one of the zippers on the main compartment broke, now there are see through spots wearing in the fabric and the straps are frayed.......keep in mind that my son is not overly hard on his backpacks. This backpack is pretty cheaply made (as are most character backpacks).

It's a cool looking backpack, but just don't expect it to hold up to daily use.

Backpack works the way it should. I like that it has a pocket in the front to send extra things. The pockets on the side are made out of netting and have already ripped so we can't use them because things fall through the holes. I would only buy this again if the pockets weren't mesh.

This was a bit of a disappointment. The zipper prety much broke after the first day of school. We still love angry birds, but not a quality product.

GustBuster Classic 48-Inch Automatic Umbrella, Rain Drops Edition

GustBuster Classic 48-Inch Automatic Umbrella, Burgundy Rain Drops EditionShe live in New York. She likes it because it comes down far enough that she does not have to look at the liberals. She also loves the way it keeps the rain off of her head.

Dakine Girls Alpine Pack

DAKINE Girls Alpine - Vivienne Plaid / NavyThis backpack is perfect for a college student who doesn't want to lug everything to class or for a trip, like to say Disney World. It's not super big, but it's big enough to be really useful. It's cute and really durable too. Downside: no water bottle things on the sides, but I can get pack that. I love the top pocket with fleece lining, I'm not worried about my phone or iPod getting scratched up in the main part of my backpack.

Perfect amount of pocketsmy only complaint is that it is a little small for my purposesbiking with a 17" laptop, but just for carrying everyday stuffwater bottle, change of clothes and lunch its perfect.

BUILT 13-Inch Apple MacBook or MacBook Pro Neoprene Sleeve, Rain Drop

BUILT 13-Inch Apple MacBook or MacBook Pro Neoprene Sleeve, Rain DropI've been very pleased with this protective sleeve for my new model 13-inch MacBook Pro. As a flight attendant I travel through airport security often and have not gotten a single scratch on my precious MBP while protected securely inside the BUILT neoprene sleeve. The sleeve pulls easily in and out of my tote bag. I believe the shape of the sleeve protects the corners of my laptop and gives me an extra sense of security. I love the color scheme of this sleeve and I love it even more in person. The colors in person are a little more sophisticated, not as bright as it looks on the product page (at least on my computer.)

Bottom line--I would purchase this again without hesitation. My 13-inch MacBook Pro is secure and safe and I am confident enough to use it in a bag without a designated laptop pocket.

This laptop case is listed as an Apple MacBook or MacBook Pro product, however it is also the perfect fit for my 13-inch Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga. The zipper closure is awesome and opens/closes without any difficulty and the neoprene lining is so soft and adds extra cushion. The photos of the product don't do it justice, as the colors are very vibrant and bright. I am extremely happy with this sleeve.

I really love this sleeve. It's plushy on the inside, and my Mac feels safe. It also doesn't hurt that it's aesthetically pleasing. Recommended.

High Sierra AT606 26 -Inch Wheeled Backpack with Removable Daypack

High Sierra Wheeled Backpack, BlackI have taken this bag through several countries and about 20,000 miles of travel so far... it has been a great choice! My only complaint is that it tends to tip over with the daypack attached if it is fully loaded, this is easy to avoid by habitually leaning the front of it against a wall if you have to let it go.

The large bag is an ideal size for a checked-bag on the plane, it will accomodate a weeks worth of clothes comfortably and is easy to close when full. The wheels are pretty rugged, being large and well-placed; I am careful with wheeled luggage after several broken pieces through the years but find these to be holding up well. The handle is sturdy and I haven't had any issues with it binding or sticking yet. There are large and comfortable carry handles on the top and side, making it easy to load/unload from vehicles and luggage racks. The shoulder straps hidden in the back panel are functional, though I wouldn't want to use them for more than a few minutes at a time; great if you encounter stairs in a subway station or hotel, but not a hiking pack of any kind.

The carry-on bag is a little on the small side, keeping a laptop and accessories and a DSLR is about all it will take; there is room for wallets, phones, passports and the like in the front compartment. The water bottle holder on the side is a fantastic place to keep an umbrella (I took it to London and was very glad for this). It stores nicely in the overhead bin on the plane.

My favorite coup with this pack so far has been at the left luggage storage in Paris and Dubai, when zipped together you only get charged for storing ONE piece of luggage! This will save you enough that the bag will pay for itself in about a year...

Overall my opinion is that this is the best solution for the frequent air traveler; it is easy to roll on pavement or concrete, you can always put it all on your back for a flight of stairs or unprepared surface, it is well-built and sturdy, it doesn't seem to show dirt easily. I have recommended it to my friends and family.

Got this bag last minute before a month long trip traveling around in Europe. This thing has survived the snow, falls, and so much abuse and it still looks like it's brand new. The best thing about it is the removable backpack. It's one of the best backpacks I've ever owned thanks to all the pockets and design.

I noticed that the luggage side view width is pretty big. It was hard to squeeze it into my trunk of my car.

The material is pretty strong. I use it for traveling for work and will be using it for my 2 week vacation. The detach backpack is great. When I get where I need to, I just detach the backpack off. Telescope works well.

The color is really pretty.

I bought this bag a couple of months ago, for a planned extended trip across Asia. When using it on a short test run to Mexico, a front zipper malfunctioned, the "teeth" keep randomly splitting open... even when very lightly filled. After a couple of weeks of trying to resolve this, they are proving to be incredibly slow in responding, and not helpful. The bag may prove to be worthless, unless they get back to me very soon with a solution.

Things happen, and I understand that this bad zipper is just a bit of bad luck, but bad customer service is not an accident, and not necessary. They have lost a customer here.

1. Right on time, but wrong color. Subtract one star.

2. Measured existing back packs and luggage, and read reviews, but 26" plus an 8" depth means this thing is really BIG! Subtract one star.

3. Putting this on your back? Only in a desperate moment when you have time to unzip and pull out the straps, and can't do it any other way! Imagine putting a suitcase on your back. That's it.
