the color of the bag was more of a green color...and the designated rubber hole for headphones had no hole cut in it. other than that it is a cool backpack if you dont have a ton to carry, i can fit a school textbook a 1 in folder and my pencil bag in it before it starts to stretch out.

This pack is made of high quality components throughout with strong attention to quality control in manufacturing. The zippers are big and beefy. Its backed by a lifetime warranty. The sternum and waste straps and phone case are removable. I require near mil-spec quality and durability for my gear and this pack does not disappoint me. The front insulated compartment is big and could hold quite a bit of temperature controlled food, but I just use it as a place for my wallet, smartphone and keys with plenty of room to spare. The two insulated side pouches were designed for water bottles, but also work well to store my power supply and mouse on one side and a couple of spare notebook batteries on the other. The main compartment does a good job of storing my 15.4" notebook and a large zippered padfolio/organizer. the smaller middle compartment is a good place to stash a hardback textbook and has plenty of zippered & velcro organizer compartments for smaller items. The back of the pack is well ergo-padded and ventilated. The top handle is big, wide and comfortable to use.This is a great pack for anyone who needs to tote both a PC-notebook & accessories as well as books & organizers around with them, plus room for extra personal stuff. I am reviewing the Targus TSB032US Feren Notebook Backpack Orange.I will start with the reason I did not give it five stars. It is on the heavy side. It is a bit of a beast to get up onto my back, but once it's there, it's fine.
It fit a 1600-page paperback in the middle pocket but did not leave much room for anything else despite the good number of pockets available in that pocket.
The day before this backpack arrived, I was walking down the street and my other backpack unzipped all the way to the bottom and if I hadn't stopped, everything would have fallen out. The back pocket does not zip all the way down the sides, which will prevent that from happening with this pack.
The padding for the laptop is on the front, sides and bottom. Plus the back of the backpack provides the back protection and is very good. My 15.4" laptop comes just to the top of the padding, even with the 12v battery. In that bigger back pocket, with the laptop in it, the powercord, my stethoscope, and mouse, there is only room left for one or two 1 1/2" three-ring binders.
So this fits my need for my particular schooling: most everything is done on the laptop and I only have to fit a few thin things in the pack as well. It is comfortable, and the side pockets fit my drink containers well.

This is probably my best buy to date. It is just perfect the color combination, the quality, the weight, the storage facilities. I can go on and on about it.. I would say if ur the type to carry a lot of accessories (as I do) I would recommend this backpack.In case ur wondering i have my laptop (14 inch) + 500 GB Buffalo External Drive + 320 WD Passport drive + card reader + SD card case + assortment of wires + 2 mobile phones + assorted software dvd. and there is still loads of space available.

This backpack is alright, but I feel like I paid too much money for it. After shipping you end up paying like $60 and I feel I could have gotten a better backpack for the money. The zippers are tough and get stuck a lot and the straps are really wide for me (I'm 5'3 and petite). It's also smaller than I expected it to be, but not too small for my books and notebooks for school. However, I cannot fit my laptop in it. I do like all the pockets, which is what appealed to me about this bag in the fisrt place. All in all I'm not too disappointed, but I don't love it at all.

The dimensions listed in the description are 12" X 16". They are in fact 9" X 12.5". This is a problem for us as we ordered this size specifically to fit my Kindergartener's weekly folder and her lunch box. It is so small that it will hold neither. I have always tended to get the zip-type cases or sleeves, but the HP one was a simple foldover design.
More recently, I acquired a Toshiba Portege 13" ultrabook, and it did not come with a custom sleeve, but I wanted one like the HP Spectre sleeve.
This ain't quite that, but it's close and I'm happy with it.
It's a little bit roomy (all directions) for the Portege, which is razor-thin, but the fit is pretty good. The foldover action works fine and it's quite easy to slip the Portege in and out of the sleeve.
One thing I did notice was that it does have a very strong odor for the first several days, but that fades.
All in all, it's a good case for the price and provides a good (though not great) fit for a thin 13" ultrabook.
EDIT: Also tried the case with a Dell XPS13 ultrabook. The XPS has a smaller footprint, but is a little thicker than the Portege. It actually is quite small inside the case, with at least 1" on all sides excess space. The XPS 13 promotes itself as having the same footprint as an 11" ultrabook, so if you have the XPS13, you may find this case to be too large.

i would like for it to distribute the load on my back but i feel that it makes me feel like it puts all or most of the pressure in two points in my upper back and lower back, which strains my middle back.the straps a little bit narrow and were starting to come off after only 2 months of use, without putting in it anything heavier than clothes.
paid $7 to a tailor to fix it.
im content w it i guess, but was disappointed about the straps, so i rated 2 stars.
i only have had it for 3 months now, lets see how it goes for the next year.

I purchased this for my 8 year old for this upcoming school year she seen it and really liked the artwork on it so I got it for her. She has yet to use it yet so I really cant say anything about the durability of the bag but I can say that I highly doubt that it will make it through the year. It looks and feels cheaply made, it is also quite small so it would be good for a child with very little to carry around but would steer clear of this bag for someone that needs to tote around multiple books of any sort, the front pocket isn't even big enough to hold a zippered pencil bag.All in all, my daughter likes the colors and design and she is really happy with it, I however knowing what I know now would NOT reorder a bag from this brand!

This pack is fine for use as a backpack. It is not well suited to being a field pack or carrying any about of weight. One of the straps started to tear on the first use. It's too bad, too, because it seems like a well-designed pack. I like the layout of all the compartments and the compact size. It has a compartment lining the back with a flimsy foam sheet, which would be a great place for an internal frame. All-in-all, It isn't a bad pack for the price, but I have a hard time recommending it.
CalPak Silver Lake 31" Wheeled Duffel
We bought this in a rush for my sons trip and the handle (to pull the rolling duffle) was already sticking a bit. but we assumed it would get smoother with time. Instead it just completely locked up and he had to struggle with that all over colorado.He LOVED the bag otherwise and I wish we I could just risk getting the same one to replace it but it is SUCH a hassle to return....
This bag holds plenty, and on several occasions when family members were headed out to austere locations for a long time, the generous cargo bay held everything we crammed in...and we crammed in plenty.
The wheels held up even in places where gravel and sand where more common than pavement or flooring...

The color was actually quite nice.The handle retraction mechanism feels a little cheap so we'll see how the pounding of air travel works on it.

The case really is pretty, but it turned out a lot darker than the skin. The skin has all the right colors--vibrant blues and the watch is a great color. I'm very happy with the skin, though I'm still smoothing out a few of the bubbles from application (my fault, not theirs). However, the case is just...lacking....oh, it's pretty, but it's much duller than the skin. The blue just looks a little tired and there isn't the same amount of contrast between the background and the butterflies, making it hard to make out the entirety of the picture. It's also a little thin, so while it does my job of protecting my net book in my purse, if you're looking for something that will protect your hardware in high impact instances, look elsewhere. To get a good feel of how much it will protect your technology, go to walmart and feel the inside of the cases with the handles. The appearance is great, and seems to have very good quality since it is made by Wenger. However, it is really smaller than I expected. It says 14*15*7, well, I measured it after I got the product, it is marginally the size if you keep pushing your stuff into the bag. It can fit a laptop, a couple of books, and some small stuff. I was hoping to put my lunch box, but seems difficult. Wondering if I should return it.P.S. It took several days to delivery.

Having two of the netbooks finding an affordable case to hold the cords and assorted was presenting a rather pricey problem when I came across this one. It seemed to fit what I was looking for, had the pockets I needed and was at a more affordable price.The good parts are that it holds my netbooks securely and it provides good protection for the netbook. There's pocket space for all the cords and any accessories and those pockets are easy to access and provide good protection as well. The case is fairly light even when lugging a netbook or using this as a general purpose messenger bag and seems to be easy to clean.
The primary problems are you can't remove or rearrange the internal divider, so if you need additional space or are trying to carry a lot, you're pretty limited on room. The bag itself can't be folded down so if you have to put it in a drawer or in a locker it's not going to fit. But these are minor issues and can be easily adapted to.
I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a durable bag for their netbooks. I've bought other SwissGear over the years and I've never been disappointed in them. It can be a little pricey but you do get a bag that's going to give your netbook protection and pocket space.

Dakine 11-Litre Shyla Pack
The tag on this bag claims it will carry most 17 inch laptops, but I could just barely squeeze my 15.6 inch (very thin) Zenbook into it and once inside it was very difficult to remove. If the top opening was as wide as the base of the bag, it would have easily fit. The material was also very thin and offered little padding/protection. And somehow it was much larger than expected, which made it even more frustrating that my ultrabook style laptop wouldn't fit!

I have no complaints about my bag as it is, though a handle on the top would be nice in addition to the shoulder strap.It's beautiful, it's durable, Dakine is a very solid brand in my experience. I have three or four different kinds of bags from them.
One front smaller pocket which zips closed for smaller items, about 13" across, 9" tall and 1.25 inches deep. Pretty standard stuff. Lovely dark maroon color inside. I would call the large section of the bag 3" deep, not 2.5.
In the large pocket of the bag there is one bigger area for your stuff, and a padded section for a laptop but NOT a 17" as it says.
I have a 17.3" HP and the bag is nowhere near wide enough to fit it in. If you lay the bag flat you'll see it is 17" at its widest point, but it comes inward slightly at the top. I couldn't fit my friend's 16" easily either. Way too snug.
I decided to keep it and use it for other things, but I will still need to go get yet another item that will fit my laptop.

Well at first when I got it I was worried it wasn't actually gonna fit my 17" macbook pro. I couldn't get it into the bag, but on second try I managed to get it settled into the little compartment and now I sort of love that it's not any bigger. It makes it as small as possible while still being able to carry around my laptop.The one thing I might say I don't like is the fact that the inside is neon green. Other than that I have no negatives to say about it.

I really like this laptop bag. The coloring is brilliant, it's not faded or dull like I had worried it might be, it's really crisp & clear. It's very spacious(sp?)inside just like I had hoped. I really adore this bag & I can't wait to use it with my new laptop. My only concern is there isn't a lot of padding where the laptop goes & I would prefer just a little more padding in that area. I'm sure I can compensate for that somehow but otherwise, I think it's a great product.

Pros: incredibly attractive, durable, great (even cool-looking) wheels, and of course, I love the solid zippers on the Kiplings.Tiny Con: I wish it could hold more books! I am a commuter so I have to bring extra books to study in-between classes. It is much more taller than it is wider (check the depth 7"D). This is by no way a minus point, but I just want you to be aware of that.
