It's really a nice bagpack but mind you its not for college students. The bag is really small and doesnt accomodate laptop, plus text books. So its not really worth the big price.

The North Face Heckler
Most of the online reviews of the North Face Heckler deal with using the backpack around campus. I was looking for a tough and versatile backpack I could pack for a weekend and would fit under the seat of an airplane. I researched several backpacks from manufactures that specialize in quality outdoor gear and found that the Heckler met all of my requirements. While there are several packs with features similar to the Heckler, I wanted a pack that had the ability to stuff a jacket or windbreaker on the outside where I could quickly stash it when not need and quickly get to it when I did need it. So far the Heckler has performed exactly as I hoped it would. North Face has been manufacturing quality outdoor gear for years and I expect that this pack will hold-up like their other products I have used for years.

I received this bag on time and it was very neatly packaged. However, within 1 or 2 days of carrying this bag, with only a pair of shorts and a shirt in it, this bag started to come apart on the inside at the seams. I think that a bag, at this cost should have been more sturdy. I do not recommend this bag. It is not of durable quality...just pretty to look at. I am very disappointed with it and so is my 4 year old son for whom the bag was purchased.

If it was socially acceptable for a 30-something lawyer to carry a book bag *this* is the one I'd carry :) Not only is the book bag super cute (in general, princess stuff is cute but this is totally adorable!) but it's light-weight and my two year old loves wearing it! I'm thinking of getting another one as a sort of mini-suitcase for when we fly, since it's so convenient to carry.

The description was accurate, I love all the features, pockets and straps you can attach almost anything to it and the side pouch holds a standard size water bottle. CalPak Grand Stand Rolling Backpack
I got this for my fourth grader in October of 2010 (after another back pack only lasted her 3 weeks of school before ripping). It made it through the year only breaking at the last week of school, the bottom cracked in half, it still rolled and worked fine (it just slouched or how my daughter put it, it was drepressed) but other than that there were no other issues. I will be buying another one for this comming school year.

My son adores this backpack (and all things Ben 10). However, at four, it's almost as big as he is. No problem, he'll grow into it. But what bothers me is the two zippered comparents have zippers that feel cheap and as if they are going to snag or break or run off track at any time. They are not smooth. I tried a bit of dry bar soap on the zippers which made them move a bit more smoothly, but that's just a cheap, temporary fix.If you are going to get this, consider it short term...I will update the review if it does break, but I'm guessing he'll only get a couple months out of this backpack.

So not only was the shipping ridiculously fast, like 2-days, totally surprised. The backpack itself is amazingly affordable and HUGE for its size. I used this bag for my Ness (Earthbound/Mother 2) cosplay, but found myself using it more than my messenger bag! It is that simple and efficient. To give you an idea it fits; two mics, 6 shirts, 2 shorts, 4 underwear, a sketchbook, laptop, 3 fuji apples, a bottle of water, and my pencil box. CRAZY.

I got this for a halloween costume but it ended up being bigger than I thought it would be. We still kept it. It's a good standard backpack.The seller shipped fast but the product itself is so cheaply made. If it is for the occasional sleep over it would be fine, but for school it will last 1 month. I bought both my boys this backpack ( have to have solid color backpacks for school uniforms) and both ripped and broke very fast. Don't waste your money

The many pockets make it easy to store my race number, pins, snacks, extra water, uniform, sweats, umbrella, first aide kit, and racing spikes. I'd have to say that aside from the bright yellow strap, the shoe compartment is a favorite. It's durable and lasted for a long time. I've been using this every day.
Also, I'm short. And this is a perfect size. Hangs down nicely and is comfortable. (5'1.5" if you care to know)
The only flaw that may or may not annoy you, is that the buckles that connect the strap to the actual bag is plastic. And it makes a weird squeaky noise sometimes. It's not loud enough for others to hear it, but you can hear it. I've had it long enough to ignore it. It's many pros outweigh this small con that may not even matter.

I have had 5 of these bags and I absolutely love them. The first one I got was years ago and I finally had to retire it completely because I snagged it and ripped it beyond repair. I bought this bag to use on a vacation where I would be on foot for a few days in downtown Vancouver BC. The materials make it lightweight, basically waterproof and very well made. I could see this bag lasting a very long time.The bag is compact enough to easily set next to you when eating lunch and since it is essentially made of rubber it is very easy to clean.
I was able to comfortably store a camera, my Nexus 7 tablet, cell phone, a bottle of water and still had space for small purchases made throughout the day. It has a large front flap on the front and I've had bags where that annoyed me in the past but it didn't bother me here. I barely noticed it it was very easy to get in the bag, grab my camera, snap a few photos, and toss it back in.
The strap is very comfortable on your shoulder as well that fact that is was made from a recycled seat belt strap probably has something to do with that!
I liked the bag so much that I now use it everyday at work and would gladly purchase other products from Alchemy Goods again.

I am so surprised that there are no reviews on this backpack yet, so I am going to write one in hopes that somebody will read this and maybe this will help their decision to purchase this backpack!
First of all, I purchased this from on their website, and within 48 hours, my new bookbag was on my door step from Fed Ex! TALK ABOUT PROMPT! (And this was just regular shipping, not overnight!) So that REALLY impressed me! I opened up the box in excitement and saw my beautifully colored Sierra Powerglide (I had gotten the Multi-cross colored one, and I am very glad I purchased this color. It will def. stand out from the rest of the book bags!)
The reason why I purchased this book bag was because I was accepted into nursing school, and for 3 years now, I have been tugging around heavy HEAVY medical science books on my shoulders along with my laptop computer so I could take notes in my pre-requisites for nursing school! So count 3 heavy textbooks, a binder, a computer, PLUS my purse... all that weight adds up! = a very sore student! I'm already 22, don't want to feel 42! lol. So I thought, why not get a "rolling" "laptop" bag? Something with lots of room in it so I can store all my stuff in it, tug it to school, and not ruin my back in the mean time! Makes sense! And I made a brilliant decision!
The bag itself has 3 zippered compartments along with a zippered compartment that holds your MP3 player (Good for the music lovers like me!) right on the top, and along the side, there are two compartments that will hold your water bottle or whatever accessories you decide to bring along with you! The water bottle actually fits right in there perfectly and you are able to zip it so you can't even see it! (This is just a standard plastic .5 L Ice Mountain water bottle that I used in my bag!)
The pocket on the very front is good for organizing your things (pens.. pencils.. calculator, ID.. key.. phone! Notepad) So that was good. The next zipper is the zipper for your laptop! Now I am using a Hp Pavilion DV6000.. so the screen is about 15.4 inches across, and this fit perfectly in it (even with my slightly bigger battery that I am using on my computer.. it didn't make a difference in the thickness!) I even have enough room in that compartment to put a few notebooks or a small binder, or even to pack my AC adapter for my laptop in there! This was a HUGE PLUS! If you are purchasing a book bag for a laptop, the Sierra Powerglide is a good choice BECAUSE you want a book bag that places your computer IN FRONT OF YOUR BOOKS! Its a smarter design, and this means less harm for your computer in the mean time! (You won't have the weight of your books crushing on top of your PC if your computer is in the front, so keep this in mind when you are buying a bag for your laptop!)
In the main compartment, there is tons of room! You def could fit 3-4 HUGE textbooks along with a binder, and then even some on top of it, as the book bag is pretty tall! (think about putting your lunch there on top of your books on those long school days!)
And then finally, the wheels are very sturdy, and the straps feel wonderful on my back! I really like the design of the straps as you can choose to hide them when you use handle bar, or when you don't want to pull your backpack!) But honestly, I can tell you right now that I am DEF going to using the bar to pull this, as this was one of the biggest reasons why I bought this bag! The only thing that I was playing around with was the handle bar. Its kind of tricky getting it to set to the first height (the bar can raise to two heights) but with tinkering around, you can figure it out! Also, in the MP3 pocket, it is also tricky getting your headphones through that little compartment, but that is just all minor stuff!
Overall, I am very happy that I purchased this bag and I am looking forward to finishing nurse school with this bag and even graduate school! If you have a high course load and you need to find something to tug your stuff around with.... get a bag with more than 3000 cu. inch capacity, or just this one!! HIGHLY Recommend!!!
I continue to be amazed at how much room it has inside!! Not only is it bigger than most laptop bags, there are so many inside pockets even zippered ones! It also has a back that unzips and provides you backpack straps to carry if you are not in a place to wheel it. The handle mechanism is very smooth and sturdy does not feel "cheap".
This bag would work excellently for someone having to travel over a night or two easily hold some clothes and toiletries for a quick trip.
It is worth every penny (at least as of today but I will say I have only had the opportunity to use it twice!)
Best of all it is Made in the USA!

I, too, purchased this bag due to the enormous books I have to carry for nursing school. I did a lot of research before choosing this bag, and while I'm not dissatisfied with it, there are a lot of things I'm not thrilled about.The Good: the bag meets my needs size wise, with enough room to carry: a large binder, two normal sized text books, 15" laptop, planner and numerous smaller supplies. The wheels seem to be well designed, and I've never had an issue with the handle. Backpack rolls smoothly and the handle on the top is super handy when you encounter a set of stairs. The numerous pockets with organizers are nice, and really help you find something in a hurry.
The Bad: the zippers are definitely not top quality. My bag came with one broken zipper, and with the way the others zip, I'm not sure they'll all last through the school year. While the bag is large, once you put a laptop in it, you are severely limited on what you can put in the largest compartment. The laptop pouch seems to be so well cushioned, that it takes up 1/3 of the overall space. Lastly, what bag maker these days doesn't put in mesh pouches for water bottles? There are zippered pockets on the side that you can shove a water bottle in, but they aren't nearly big enough, nor designed properly for that.
The only other comment I have, is be incredibly careful as to what you put in the largest compartment. Today, while pulling out on of my larger textbooks, I realized that the little wheel wells in the large compartment completely dented my textbook binding. Because it's a textbook I need for the entire year, I'm not super thrilled about it. I will live with it, but I may be looking to get a higher quality backpack come next year.

But it has a 5 year warranty, which really gives me some peace of mind. $70 is a lot to spend for a poor college student, but I really need something high-quality to carry all my heavy text books around in. I am 5'9" and the handle is actually long enough!! It's adjustable and it appears that it would work for someone even taller. I am so glad I won't have to hunch over and pull a muscle. The fabric on this backpack is completely adorable and also interest-catching for my daughter. (dolls!) However, I am disappointed to say that this just didn't work for us. Let me start by saying that my daughter (16 mos. old) LOVES backpacks, says "ba pa" all the time, and is interested in our hiking back packs, her backpack carrier, etc. That being said, she refuses to wear this backpack and, when we do manage to get it on her, it slips off. She is average size for her age. It may just be that she is too young OR it may be that, while the rest of the backpack is nice quality, the shoulder straps are not padded and are that slick, nylon strap material. This back pack wound up being too small for my daughter to use for school. It also had some threads hanging off of it. I just didn't want to deal with returning it, so it became a gift for my niece.I bought this for my 4 year old niece, she loves her backpack the only problem i have is that the lunch bag is a bit small and may have to use the side compartments on the backpack to put juice or water bottles since it cannot fit in the lunch bag, it is a beautiful bag do not know how durable it will be but looks strong enough for what a preschooler would carry to school.UPDATE:after using for 8 months the bag is durable but the lunch bag is being used as a pencil case

I only use a backpck when traveling and this is perfect!The color doesn't show spots and the dark brown trim adds style.
The overal size and style with the extra pockets outside and the inside zipper is great.Its a good packpack, however when it came the side pocket zippers are broken & are stuck in the middle, if you try to unzip it it will come undone. I don't feel like going through the return mess so I'm just not going to use them. Everything else is good though.
Protec Deluxe Notebook/Tablet Messenger Bag
Having recently purchased and returned the ProTec Blackout Messenger Bag, I found this one to suit my needs nicely. There are actually three compartments.The front compartment is secured by a flap like many messenger bags. The flap has two zipper pockets on the front to store small items like your keys and wallet. This flap is held in place by a buckle and velcro. The front compartment has a little organizer and can hold an iPad.
The main compartment is where you can store your music books/binders/folders. It also contains a laptop section for you laptop. Not sure what size laptop it holds, but it is there.
The third compartment on the back is and is flat. This can be used to hold loose sheet music as well as the black folder that most groups use to hold music. The thing about the back compartment is that it is not zippered like the main compartment. It is held shut by velcro in the center, so items in that area can be damaged if water gets into it. It is also too short for music folder
One side of the bag has a pouch to hold your small gear while the other side has a water bottle holder.
Really great bag. Would have given 5 stars but there are a few things that brought it down.
1) The D Ring and hardware for the shoulder strap plastic, not metal
2) The pulls on all the zippers are cords rather than metal.
Other than those two points, if you have lots of music, this will do the job for you.

adidas Team Speed Duffel Small
This is an good gym bag. I'm glad I didn't go with the medium size because the small is large enough as it is. I carry 2 pairs of shoes, sweatpants, various lifting equipment (belts, straps, etc) and have room to spare. I only wish that the shoulder strap was adjustable to a smaller length. I carry this bag on my back when I bike to the gym and the bag hangs down around my rear rather than on my back. However if you don't bike with your bag then this shouldn't be a concern.

The function and protection of the bag was nice. It is a "sleeve" meaning that you won't have space to put much more in than a few files and your laptop/cords/accessories. It is very comfortable to wear and the weight distributes nicely on the padded strap. I ended up returning the item however due to the fabric. I purchased the white one, and the fabric had this strange space-age sheen to it that made the bag look cheap. The quality of the bag and material is good, I just couldn't get past the way it looked. I don't want to look like I'm on the star ship enterprise when lugging my macbook pro.

I liked the case, it was stylish, light and safe with the two straps, I used to commute by bike and it was very convenient.My 15" Macbook Pro fits nicely inside and there is enough space for the accessories and daily small things. I have the white/silver version that is also highly visible at night.
Unfortunately the side net is weak and could tear easily.
But my biggest concern is that after one year of moderate use (actually, it was in use only for several months) the main strap started to tear off where it attached to the bottom of the side, so practically there is no way to carry it safely anymore, it can fall any time.
I expected better durability, it's not so cheap product to became useless after a year.
I can't recommend it.This exceeded my expectations and has saved my aching shoulders! I use this daily and not only is it comfortable and well designed, it also has not shown any signs of wear in nearly 9 months.This is a great item, with great features. Everything fits in one place, and is incredibly comfortable to wear. Plus, there aren't many slings out there that hold laptops (actually, I know of none except this one). So, not only are the features inside great, it also looks cool on the outside. Perfect all around.

The Sinking Barge is superior to my Tumi laptop backpack in all ways other than the lost-bag return service, but lets face it if i lose a bag full of $1000's worth of equipment; odds are i'll never see it again anyways id plate or not.
Fits well on the back and is very comfortable, this is not a pack that was designed as a backpack as an afterthought.
great item, would purchase this bag again if i had a need and the one i have didn't come with a lifetime warranty.
