J.Fold Men's Roadster Backpack

J.Fold Men's Roadster Backpack, Black, One SizeI think this is a pretty nice, sturdy, vastly overpriced canvas (not leather) backpack. I give it two stars because it's mislabeled on Amazon as leather and is vastly overpriced. Other than that, the lining and the materials are nice. Anyhow, returned.

Update: Amazon changed the material description but not the price of the bag, so I now give it three stars. It's a nice bag, but it should be one hundred at most.

High Sierra Freewheel Wheeled Book Bag

High Sierra Freewheel Wheeled Book BagI got this backpack to store my computer and business-related items. I am a road warrior and have gone through the ubiquitous "regular" computer bags and thought I would give this a whirl. I am not easy on my bags, and just the nature of being on 4-6 planes a week, often times gate checking this bag, EVERYTHING stays safe and secure. The built in sleeve for my Dell computer keeps it safe and sound no matter how much I clunk it around--up and down steps, tossed into a luggage hold, etc. There is a spot for everything. Computer, power cable, network cords, mouse, my documentation, my e-reader, business cards, keys, pens, a 35mm camera, lunch, etc. Oh yes, I pack it full and it has held up for well over a year under very rigorous conditions!

Whether you are looking for something for your child or for yourself as you commute on a train, plane or automobile, I don't think you'll be disappointed. When my current bag wears out, I will most definitely be purchasing another one--so glad to have found them here so I know where to go when the time comes to buy another. I honestly cannot say one bad thing about this bag. I finally found my own "perfect" solution!

I purchased this backpack for my very forgetful 8 year old daughter. She is always forgetting something somewhere at the end of the day because it did not fit in her backpack. I am so happy with all the space! I opened the pockets expecting them to be half the size they actually were. Last year I purchased a typical backpack from a discount store and on the first day of school it was jammed full and I still had 3 grocery bags of supplies to carry in for her. We packed this bag with all of her supplies this year and there is room to spare! I'm very satisfied with the design of this product!

This is a great product! I recently returned to school (at 45 yrs old) and the first 2 days I carried a backpack and thought I was going to die! I calculated my walk from the car to my first class at .8 mile, all carrying a backpack full of laptop, 2 books, notebooks, pens, water bottle, etc. Way too heavy! I immediately ordered this rolling backpack based on review and I love it! The first day I "rolled" into school was like a burden had been lifted. I can hold everything I need in it and the wheels are terrific. I'm 5'9" and was worried about having to stoop to grab the handle but that is NOT the case! The handle telescopes to a great height and I love the 't-bar' grip. Highly recommend this product!

A year ago I purchased this backpack for my 10 yr old daughter after trying so many others. This is THE BEST wheeled backpack I have ever purchased and well-worth the money. I bought a more expensive/so called hi-quality wheeled backpack from a "BIG" sporting goods retailer and after a few weeks, the zipper broke. There are more pricey backpacks out there in backpack "LAND" that claim to be the best quality and most durable. I doubt it!! My money is on High Sierra from now until my daughter attends high school. They have the best styles and colors...and are virtually kid-proof. No backpack lasts forever, but most kids don't handle them delicately anyway. If you're on the fence, GET OFF and buy High Sierra. You won't be disappointed.

After adjusting the shoulder pads, the black "straps" hang down at the bottom of the back of the bag. My daughter was putting the bag from her shoulder at one point to rolling it at another (rolling to the bus and shoulder to get on the bus). If the shoulder pads and straps are not tucked in when rolling, the black straps hanging down will not last my daughter's broke off within 2 days of use. So, it seems that it is not practical to use as both a roller and a strapped backpack easily.

Woodland Camouflage Backpack / Stool Combo

Woodland Camouflage Backpack / Stool ComboI expected this bag to be made of better material than the thin "plastic" that it is! I thought it would some kind of canvas material like my other stool/backpack. I'm keeping it mostly for show because it looks nice and matches some other stuff I have but I'm afraid to load anything heavy in it, unfortunately. That almost defeats the purpose of having a backpack but the stool is functional so that's the only reason I'm giving it two stars.

Nubrella Hands Free Umbrella

Nubrella Hands Free UmbrellaIf you look at my hundreds of reviews you will see that I rarely write one star reviews. That is because I generally avoid products like this. However, my wife saw this on Shark Tank and ordered not one but two because she was convinced how great this would be. She was dead wrong. Here is why:

1. This product comes with minimalist instructions that do not tell you how to properly position it so you are not being hit in the head while you are wearing it. Amazingly, the company's website has no such information either. Hmmm. That made me suspicious. Eventually I did find a You Tube demo, but even when "properly adjusted" this still grazed my head and was not comfortable to wear. No wonder there is nothing on the website.

2. I tried this in a driving rain storm after I adjusted it. While it did keep my head and shoulders dry, my pants got soaked, which does not happen with a regular umbrella because when you hold it over your head, it does more than just protect your head and shoulders. In addition, visibility was nonexistent. It was like driving your car in a rainstorm with no windshield wipers on. In addition, while this is hands free, the trade off is that the handle is pressed into your stomach for support. Not very comfortable when walking.

3. If you open this in the house before you go outside, good luck fitting through the doorway. I barely made it.

4. My wife was led to believe that this would be great for bicycle riding and running in the rain. No way. I tried each, and it was virtually impossible to do either because with such vigorous movement this kept bumping into my head, and the handle kept pressing into my stomach. And of course I also could not see where I was going.

5. This is not something that you can easily stow on a crowded train or bus, and I seriously doubt that airport security would let you bring this on a plane. This is also not something that I would want to bring into a business meeting.

Bottom line: This product is expensive, cumbersome, and does not work as well as a regular umbrella to provide maximum protection. Hands free is nice--but not when I am getting soaked from the waist down, can't see where I am going, and have a handle being driven into my stomach. There is no way I would recommend it. I have read the positive review, and can say only that I vigorously disagree.

IMPORTANT: Getting a refund from this company is not simple. I returned the product via UPS with a cover letter including my cell phone and email address, but heard nothing. I then managed to speak to someone at the phone number listed on the website, and was promised a refund. However the company deducted over 25% of my purchase price for shipping (even though I paid shipping to return it) plus a restocking fee (none of which was mentioned at the time of purchase). These are the kind of companies that I try to avoid no matter what they sell. Fortunately after I disputed these deductions, my credit card company issued a full credit.

Update June 1, 2012: This product is no longer listed on Amazon. Out of curiosity I looked at the website to see if there were ANY positive testimonials from customers. You guessed it--not a single one! In fact there are NO customer testimonials of any kind. Just some slick infomercial style videos. That pretty much tells you what kind of product you are dealing with.

I've used this twice in the rain, and here's my review so far.

Ease of Use:

The Nubrella website (at the time of this review) doesn't clearly demonstrate HOW to wear it. In a TV interview, the inventor explains that the straps from the back go under your arms to lock the Nubrella into place.

It takes some getting used to. It didn't rain for almost a month after I received mine, so I wore it inside a lot to get a feel for the fit -and to shoot and share pics. I immediately noticed two issues:

The fit It rested on my head until I contacted Nubrella, and was informed about the strap placement (read above).

It collapsed As soon as I began to walk, the handle in the front banged against my body, causing the Nubrella to collapse. I felt that there should be a locking mechanism.

But after adjusting the straps, then properly placing my arms in with the secondary straps (from the rear) underneath my arm pits, and the upper straps (with fabric/padding) on top of my shoulders, it finally fit properly.

So after a long wait, it finally rained!

Test One: Night/Light Rain/Times Square (NYC) heading West

I could not SEE well. Visibility at night lacked due to the raindrops sticking to the plastic. I got bumped into by one person, but that would have happened with my full-sized umbrella anyway, which is much less streamlined. I also had a backpack on which always gets soaked in the rain, but this time it remained dry!

Test One Conclusion -

Pros: My backpack stayed dry

Cons: I couldn't see well at night

____

Test Two: Afternoon/Heavier Rain

This time I took my time and made sure that I was wearing the Nubrella properly. I walked around with it indoors, and it did NOT collapse. Good. Now the real test.

I went to the grocery store. You have to take time to put it on right. Once on, it's great. This time I could see clearly, as it was daytime. At a pedestrian light, I stopped and used my iPhone, which stayed completely dry under the Nubrella. Headphone use is also better/safer.

There were a few circumstances where in order to avoid puddles, I needed to fit between some tight spots. With a normal umbrella, I'd tilt or collapse it. The Nubrella has to be removed, as it IS something you WEAR. So that was inconvenient, but not a deal breaker.

The Nubrella allowed me to carry groceries with both hands. When I arrived at a corner that's always windy, I only noticed the wind because I saw someone else's umbrella blowing around. That's the corner where with my normal umbrella, I collapse it and get soaked or fight with it, despite it being one of those 'wind resistant' umbrellas.

As a New Yorker, I was a little put off by the fact that I had to walk SLOWER than normal with the Nubrella. It could be due to an improper fit (by my error, not Nubrella's), but if I walked at my normal fast speed that day, the Nubrella would bounce around a lot. When I walked slow (or what is probably a normal pace in other parts of the world), it was fine.

One of the straps kept falling down like a bra strap. I had to constantly re-adjust it. Any one-size-fits-all contraptions will not fit everyone perfectly. However, Nubrella is very quick to respond and sent new straps to me. I have yet to test it with those new straps, as once again, it just hasn't rained much in NYC.

The humiliation factor is what some worry about. Well, I can't lie and say I didn't notice people staring, but since I'm an adult -who cares?! One guy loved it. A kid looked in awe. What matters to me is that I am kept drier than I would be with a normal umbrella, and I am. The Nubrella is also more streamlined, so it wasn't in the way. In the midst of a very crowded NYC street, I think any umbrella's in the way, so at that point I may wear a hooded jacket or get bumped around as I did in test one. But I'd rather get bumped than accidentally poke someone with a normal umbrella.

The final part is that the Nubrella opens wide so that it can drip dry easily in an open space.

Visibility from the rear was an issue simply because I chose the black one. If you buy this for biking or any related transportation purpose, you may opt for the clear one.

Test Two Conclusion -

Pros: Once it fits, it works. It kept me drier and warmer than a regular umbrella would have. I could use my iPhone under it. The company (inventor) is VERY responsive.

Cons: You can't quickly collapse it when you come upon something that it won't fit past. I suggest the clear one, as the ones with fabric in the rear obstruct your view.

Further testing in different weather conditions will determine my future updates to this review, but so far, so good. I actually look forward to stormy weather now!

----

Test Three: Afternoon/Very heavy rain/Crowded weekday in NYC

This is likely my final review. It rained very hard this week, so I used my Nubrella, joyfully. In fact, I ran an errand that could have waited JUST to test it. This time I had the new adjusted straps from Nubrella. It worked perfectly. In fact, a co-worker saw mine, tried it, and ordered two!

I cannot imagine using any other umbrella in heavy rain. I have given this umbrella 5 well-deserved stars.

__

Minus one star (Feb. 23, 2013) because after having owned it for years now, I find myself not using it that often due to the strap fit. The key benefit of this umbrella is that it's hands-free, but I find myself always using one hand to adjust the straps despite having the new straps that they released. It's very challenging to adjust those straps to a perfect fit. While walking the straps slip constantly, and when wearing a jacket it just doesn't fit (me) at all without a strap re-adjustment. I really wish the company could remedy that by addressing the fit because I believe in this product and stand by my earlier positive reviews. However, I want to simply put it on and go. The lack of the ability to do that makes me more prone to just grab my regular umbrella during normal rain. But again, during torrential rain, I do prefer the Nubrella.

Worst purchase I have made in years. Returned one of two and had to file complaint with my CC company to get refund. Would not return calls, could not get Nubrella to work and was totally disappointed. Have receipt they received product back but from that date have not got them to return a call, email or text. Real bad experience.

The directions included were not of any help, it showed you how to open and close the Nubrella but not how to adjust it. We never could get it adjusted and only thing they would say was to tighten strap 4" which did no good. No directions on putting the Nubrella back into the bag and that was a major chore. I tore my bag the first time I tried to put it back. Only goes one way I guess and I don't know if we ever really found that way.

Bought two and tried to be fair by only returning one because of the torn bag and I tried to get one to work. Have never used it and probably will never be able to. Wanted one for a wheelchair person but that was totally out of reality.

Oh Hum real bad experience.

One day I was struggling on the steps outside in the rain--I have to use a cane and I had a bag and my purse to carry, plus needed the umbrella.

My husband searched online for a solution to my problem, found this product and bought it for me. At first I didn't know what to think (what the heck is this?), but now that I've used it a few times it has been a God-send.

Now I can walk with my cane, carry my purse and still use an umbrella. Comments from people have only been positive, and it works well.

I don't put the straps under my arms, I just let it rest on my shoulders. It's easy to open and close, and easy to lock shut.

All you do to work it is press the red button on the handle and rock it to the open position. The nubrella pops open. To close, just push ends together like an accordion, press the red button on the handle, slide the handle back over the bundled nubrella. It locks into place again to hold it shut.

It came with instructions. I read them twice, tried it, and had no problems.

I love being hands free, it has made me much safer on icy or wet surfaces, as now I can hold onto a cane or even both hands on a railing if need be.

My thanks to the inventor.

Just opened it up was looking for instructions on how to adjust it and so on, what did come with it was very minimal.

However, after looking at it for a few minutes it was obvious how to make shoulder adjustments. Afterwards it fit really well, very comfortable. The handle does rest on my stomach somewhat but it is not noticeable (I have a beer gut and that has alot to do with it).

Haven't had the chance to test it in any significant weather, but so far so good, but I'm sure it will do the job.

CalPak Grand Stand Rolling Backpack

CalPak Grand Stand Rolling Backpack - CharcoalI got this for my fourth grader in October of 2010 (after another back pack only lasted her 3 weeks of school before ripping). It made it through the year only breaking at the last week of school, the bottom cracked in half, it still rolled and worked fine (it just slouched or how my daughter put it, it was drepressed) but other than that there were no other issues. I will be buying another one for this comming school year.

Bought this for my 10 year old girl who was struggling to carry a big load of books everyday and needed the wheels. It has been less than 2 months since she got it and it already is showing signs of distress. The handle is not faring well with the steps on the bus and looks like it will not make the rest of the school year. She cut herself on a surround on the wheels (I asked her why she was playing with it and she declared all the kids play with the wheels on their backpack. Again probably OK for a careful older child or adult, but just not cutting it for a 10 year old. Attractive enough and enough space for a decent but not huge load of books.

Razer StarCraft II Zerg Edition Messenger Bag

Razer StarCraft II Zerg Edition Messenger BagThe picture for this item does not even do it justice. Right after I opened the box I noticed that the colours are much more vibrant than the picture shows. Yes the front flap is darker but the colours are well defined and the picture is not muddled at all. When you open the front flap you'll notice that not only is the top help down with the snap together things (sorry can't think of what they're called, think of a backpack) but velcro too. Also on the backside of the flap there is another image of a zerg that is also well defined. The notebook hold area is pretty spacious, it says 15" laptop, but I managed to make my 15.6" fit, its a little tight, but as thats a popular size now I figured others could benefit from that knowledge. The material its made out of is really good too. I can tell that it's going to last awhile. So all in all it is expensive, but its very well made and is worth it if you're a starcraft fan.

The bad has double reinforced threads at all seams to prevent tearing, this is huge to me as my old bag(s) broke at the seams.

The shoulder strap is very long and easy to adjust and has a nice padded section with the blizzard logo embroidered into it.

This is a Razor product so it is meant for gamers, the layout shows, a small Razor tag is hidden on the back edge.

It snugly fits my 15.6 in Lenovo Y570 now that I have been using it for a couple weeks and it stretched out a bit.

You will need to be careful the first week or so if you have a 15.6 in laptop as it does not seem to be meant for the extra .6 in and the fabric needs to stretch out.

Bag provides adequate padding and is very water resistant within reason.

Comes with a Carabiner and elastic strap inside for your keys.

Starting at the front, (side with the image shown in the pictures) the pocket on has 1 zipper and inside are 2 smaller velcro pockets and pen/pencil holders.

The single pocket is adequate though not large enough for anything other than a mouse, soft keyboard and power supply for the laptop.

Behind the zipper pouch noted above is a thin paper pocket that I cannot see much use for other than an airplane ticket or travel itinerary.

Lastly is the padded section for the laptop, this has a nice wide downward facing triangular cover that has Velcro on the point to protect your laptops hinges and hold it in place. Of special note there is a nice image of a Zergling on this piece that most people who admire the bag will not see.

The inside of the front cover is covered with a fully teched out zerg base full of drones, rich minerals, overlords a spawning pool and other level 2 and 3 structures and units; it is a nice reminder that you live for the swarm!

Pictures do not do it justice, I picked it up for $20 on woot but even at $35 it is a great deal for gamers on the go.

I picked this bag up after finding it on another website by pure accident. I had been in the market looking for a really good messenger bag, but I had been having trouble finding something similar to what I have now. This bag is it. You can tell how durable it is just by picking it up. It has tons of pockets to put whatever you can possibly imagine. In fact, it has so many pockets, I've forgotten where I've placed things in it.

Don't let the price scare you away, if you're a fan of Blizzard games who is looking for a really good messenger bag to carry things around, do not hesitate to pick this bag up!

I won this bag in a Starcraft 2 tournament, and I'm a big fan of the game. Zerg is my preferred race. Even so, the print of the Queen of Blades on the front is just a touch too lurid for my tastes. It's vibrantly coloured, and she's got this sexy-scary vibe going on which makes me feel a little uncomfortable. I honestly feel kind of embarrassed wearing it around outside (I'm a girl, and I dress fairly fashionably/conservatively). If I could get a bag with just the Zerg and SC2 logo, that would have been perfect.

That having been said, it's got fantastic build quality, it feels incredibly sturdy, and there are heaps of awesome pockets and compartments.

In conclusion, this is not a bag for the subtle, or anyone who does not want to scream 'HAY GUYS I PLAY GAMEZ!' every time they set foot outdoors. On the other hand, if you want to stand out and loudly proclaim your love for the game, it's *perfect* for that purpose.

Crumpler The Enthusiast Bag EST001-B00G50

Crumpler The Enthusiast Bag EST001-B00G50I have tried many camera bags, and the Enthusiast may be the best yet. It's not too large, so it's not for carrying a big kit around, but as a day bag, it's great. Shoulder strap is comfortable and switchable.

What's nicest about the bag, to me, is the division of space. Top half has a nice big compartment for anything. There's a well-padded pouch for an iPad or thin netbook, and then there's the compartment that has nice high sides so things aren't just going to fall out.

The bottom half of the bag is for cameras, and it suits me very well. Seems to be set up with a 1 DSLR/1-2 lenses/1 flash kit in mind, but I carry 2 rangefinders and two lenses, and it's perfect. Two dividers that run the width of the bag for three stacked sections, and a separator to vertically divide one section (the middle one by default). I haven't changed the default setup: top section holds a couple lenses snugly, middle section holds two rangefinders with lenses perfectly, and the bottom section, thinner than the others, acts as a really good empty padding space.

The only knock I have is no good way to carry a tripod, or attach a tripod case. The X straps on the back, maybe, I need to get a case to try and hook it to that.

This was a nice looking bag, but I didn't find it very practical. It's pretty big without offering advantages. I returned it, opting for something smaller with more functionality.

Nanuk 915 Case with Cubed Foam -Black

Nanuk 915 Case with Cubed Foam -BlackAn inanimate womb for my Nikon camera's and Lens. The foam is very easy to form and craft, however plan very carefully because mistakes are fixable but use caution, save your foam! The case is lockable (I use medium Master 131T Locks) and also has a location for a shoulder strap if necessary. Construction is military grade and is, as stated, waterproof. I chose the light grey color, favoring black, however in the summer the heat and sun may cook the contents with black. I am very pleased with this purchase and from a standpoint of longevity it should last the life of the camera and protect the contents. By the way this case comfortabily fits my D90, Nissin Di866 Flash, Sigma 70-200 2.8, Nikon 18-105 3.5, Filters, Strap, Lens cleaners, and batteries.

These cases are fantastic! I bought one for my new camera being I was traveling on a road trip and I knew it would be tossed around a lot in the RV we rented. I got one with dividers and they are very easy to customize. The latches are far superior to some of the other brands and this thing is solid as a rock!

Herschel Supply Co Pop Quiz Backpack

Herschel Pop Quiz Black FA 12This backpack is great. Its everything you'd expect from a backpack: strong straps, easy adjustments, and many pockets to store things. However I do agree with the other reviewer that the zipper does get stuck sometimes and thats something you probably dont want to deal with especially if youre rushing out of class.

I bought this backpack due to its stylish design and less about its utilitarian features. I use it only for school so that is my perspective of this product. One thing that really bugs me about this backpack is the sunglasses pouch located at the top. Its basically just a pocket that has no sidewalls supporting it. If you happen to have books in your bag, theres a pretty good chance youll smash your glasses if they ever slide forward (like if you set your backpack on a desk too fast). And if youre not using the pouch, then it just gets in the way of you getting to the things you need.

Another thing that irks me a little is the two front pockets. Theres only enough room for pens/pencils and a calculator. I keep a graphing calculator in the back front pocket and anything I put in the front pocket gets squished by it.

Other than the things mentioned above, this backpack is definitely something I'd recommend to someone else to buy. The durability is there and I can see myself using this backpack for a couple years without worrying that itll fall apart on me. I knew that I'd be carrying a lot of books in my bag and it does the job fine in that regard. The pin stripe inner lining is pretty sweet as well.

This backpack is beautiful in the outside and much more in the inside. The inner area is all cushioned so you can protect your laptop or tablet. There are lots of pockets and inside them there are specific places for pens and keys, there are also some see -through mesh pockets that helps you to find things quickly. I just believe they could lower the price without losing quality.

Buy Herschel Supply Co Pop Quiz Backpack Now

I really like the color and the concise design. The inner design is very practical that it can contain much more than I expected. But the design of the zipper is not very good. As zippers are hiden under a piece of farbric, it is hard to open them. A packbag at this price should not have such problem....

Heys Luggage Britto Landscape Flowers Hardside Rolling Suitcase

Heys Britto Landscape Flowers 22' Cabin Spinner Luggage B702-22I did not use it yet on a trip. The case is solid and I am sure I will see it on the

luggage carousel. It is very pretty. I hope nobody steals it. My feeling is that there

is less room inside than with a canvas suitcase which has some give room. On the other

hand, the zipper on my canvas suitcase was ready to break. This has a very solid zipper

and will not break. Also plastic containers inside are very handy for liquids since you

cannot bring them on you carry ons. Last time I lost a good tube of suntan lotion to

the TSA agent. The lock is approved by the TSA agents which is good. The handle retracts

easily and it seems to roll well. They give you a nice cotton sack to store the case so it

will not collect dust. On the whole, I think it was worth the money because it is very

pretty and solid. If it had more room inside, I would have given it a 5.

Protec Deluxe Notebook/Tablet Messenger Bag

Pro Tec Deluxe Notebook/Tablet Messenger BagHaving recently purchased and returned the ProTec Blackout Messenger Bag, I found this one to suit my needs nicely. There are actually three compartments.

The front compartment is secured by a flap like many messenger bags. The flap has two zipper pockets on the front to store small items like your keys and wallet. This flap is held in place by a buckle and velcro. The front compartment has a little organizer and can hold an iPad.

The main compartment is where you can store your music books/binders/folders. It also contains a laptop section for you laptop. Not sure what size laptop it holds, but it is there.

The third compartment on the back is and is flat. This can be used to hold loose sheet music as well as the black folder that most groups use to hold music. The thing about the back compartment is that it is not zippered like the main compartment. It is held shut by velcro in the center, so items in that area can be damaged if water gets into it. It is also too short for music folder

One side of the bag has a pouch to hold your small gear while the other side has a water bottle holder.

Really great bag. Would have given 5 stars but there are a few things that brought it down.

1) The D Ring and hardware for the shoulder strap plastic, not metal

2) The pulls on all the zippers are cords rather than metal.

Other than those two points, if you have lots of music, this will do the job for you.

Bought it to replace a canvas briefcase that finally gave out after years and am very happy with it. Many pockets, cusion to protect my netbook ...

This is a great choice for a carry on travel bag. The padding protects the electronic gear. The many pockets keep stuff well organized so I know exactly where to find what I'm looking for. The capacity is amazing allowing for an extra change of clothing, a 3-1-1 bag, tablet, two cameras, cables, tickets, a book & snacks. The adjustable strap allowed me to find that comfortable spot on my hip that eases the load and it held its placement once set. Slipping it on and off the roller bag handle is a breeze. The material and zippers held up very well on my latest 18 day trip. I don't think I could have made a better choice!

I bought this bag to carry my iPad, as well as some music books and various other day to day items. I also have a bass guitar gig bag from protec, so I was already aware of their quality. This bag is made of sturdy ballistic nylon and has more than enough pockets and compartments. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Travel Folding Luggage Cart

Travel Folding Luggage CartI travel from the US to foreign countries with three pieces of luggage

weighing 180 lbs. Two big square soft sided duffel bags at 70 lbs each that I check and a 40 lb carryon. I need a cart to get all three pieces from the curb to the airline counter, then roll my carryon to the gate, down the jetway, then collapse the luggage cart, put it inside my carryon bag and board the plane. This cart is rated at 75 lbs yet I've made many trips using it in this manner. I am on my second cart though as I have found it's limitations.

It will not survive with this much weight on it pulling it up a curb! The telescoping arms pulled out of the bottom sections. I was able to put it back together to make it home but once is was disjointed it was never the same. I've just destroyed my second cart after rolling this load on and off ferrys in Greece for a month. I have owned and tried other carts but none are as light and fold down small enough to fit in a carryon yet [almost]handle this much weight. So I am here shopping for something the same size but more robust. I'm actually considering have a copy welded up in tubular aircraft aluminum.

I thought someone else shopping for a luggage cart with a lighter load might like to know what a great design this is.

So far, I'm pretty satisfied with this product. It's light and easy to fold up for placement in carry-on baggage, yet durable enough to support several pieces of luggage. The handle can be pulled out to a length that is comfortable for someone of above-average height and arm span. It's held up even when items have accidentally been pulled off the base.

I was taking a course in Interior Design at our community college, and the parking lot nearest the building was closed for rebuilding. The course required that we bring drafting tools and supplies every week; with case and purse, this came to about 20 pounds. I'm 70 and 5 ft tall, and hiking with that load isn't my idea of a good time. The cart did the lugging for me but was light and easy to fold up to return to the trunk of my car. Love this thing! Thank goodness that semester is over. I'll use it when travelling, too.

This cart was purchased for use on a recent barge trip in France because of the limitations imposed on the type of luggage that could be taken. It carried two soft bags totaling about 50 pounds in weight and was loaded and unloaded many times during the course of the trip. The luggage handlers were not at all gentle on it and I had fears that it would not make it to the end of the trip. I can report that although it carries several scratches it is structurally sound and ready for my next trip. I add that on the flight back it was left attached to a carry-on bag and there were no problems storing it in the over-head bin. R.Davis

This cart is light yet durable and folds down flat and compact and easily fits into carry on. I use it to haul medical equipment into a baseball park and it negotiates bumps and potholes without a problem. Definately worth the price, especially if you need the convenience of compact.

Kensington 62238 Contour Backpack

Kensington 62238 Contour BackpackI'm giving this item 5 stars anyway because I don't thing one little detail should ruin a perfect score on such a great backback. I've been using a Kensington Countour carrying case (the leather one in fact) for a while now and it has been the best bag I have ever known. However, as I am a consultant, I just picked up a gig in Manhattan which requires me to walk a bit more than just from a parking lot to a building. While the Countour carrying case is very confortable, it is a larger size bag (there is a smaller one available but not in leather) and it is not light. So this sent me on a quest to find a good backback that's "city-friendly". Indeed the quest did not take too long because I looked at a couple of units in the store then went straight to the Kensington site since I've been a fan of their products. The backpack looked good enough to try out and I thought I could always return it if I didn't like it. I've only had it for a couple of days and it is awesome. As far as confort, it is unmatched (and I've had a couple of others). The size is perfect (I have a 15.5" wide-screen laptop). I'm not sure if it would fit a 17" laptop but those things are IMHO desktop replacements and not fit for carrying out the city. The arrangements of the pockets is excellent and the snug-fit pocket for the computer is superb. Now, you remember the title of this review what's missing? Though I found snug little pockets for everything I want to carry, it would have been nice to have 1 more for the laptop power supply. Though this is not an item I carry on a daily basis since I keep one at home and one at work, when I travel, it is nice to have it in its own zippered pouch as my other Contour case did. In this one I would have to just through it in the main container area with paperwork and such. I supposed one of the pockets I used for my external mini-drive would have worked so maybe it's just that I personally need one additional pocket. The perfect place would have been a zippered area inside the main container area. Other than that, this thing rocks. The coolest thing is when you open the main container area, the laptop is secured in a tight well-protected sleeve and the rest of the area is quite open so you don't have to stretch the bag out to fiddle with its contents. I look forward to putting this thing through hell and high water in the streets of NY.

I bought this backpack shortly after getting a Dell Inspiron 9300. The laptop is very large and is a very snug fit. However, I feel safe when i put it in my backpack.

There are only a few things about this pack that i dont like. One is that the water bottle holder is not large enough to fit my nalgene bottle, so I've had to get a much smaller bottle. Another is that when i put my backpack on the ground, it often falls forward. It looks as if it was designed to stay upright when a laptop is inside, but when just filled with books it always manages to fall into the aisle.

After the last few rainy days, everything inside my bag has stayed perfectly dry. It all seems to be holding together really well, the construction seems solid and sturdy.

I am using it for HP ZD8000 notebook with 17" screen. It is a tight fit. The notebook is about 9 lbs but you can barely feel the backpack on your back. The backpack has plenty of adjustments so you can make it fit just right. I would definitely buy it again.

I'm someone who likes to walk and bike a lot, instead of using a car whenever possible. This backpack replaced my older general-purpose daypack. I like everything about this Contour pack. It's lightweight, has tons of pockets, and is extremely comfortable. Fully-loaded with a laptop, PDA, cellphone, accessories, and books it still feels balanced and comfortable on my back. The lumbar support system, which has four adjustable position, is a great innovation. You can feel the difference--the pack fits snug against your body. The laptop is held securely in its own padded area. The zippers are smooth with oversized finger tags. The pack stands up on it's own: no need to rest it against a wall. I've used lots of backpacks over the years and this is one of the best. Recommended.

I was glad to find a notebook backpack that doesn't make it look like I am going camping. It fits my Dell Inspiron 9300 (17" Widescreen) snugly and has space for my college books.

Unfortunately after a week the stitching along the inside that connected the laptop compartment began to come out.

Fortunately there is a lifetime warranty and Kensington is going to replace it, but they are currently on back order from Kensington until September. It will be alright until my replacement comes.
