Mobile Edge Premium Backpack Yellow/Black MEBPP4
I wish to thank Targus and Amazon. I went cheap and bought the TargusTXL617 17 XL Back pack. It was about $18 dollars cheaper and I'm a
trying to save pennies (aren't we all?).
After traveling less than one week with the Targus, the flap clip broke
and had a problem with the main zipper (workmanship).
Amazon refunded the entire cost, so I order the Black premium.
Boy, am I glad.
The workman ship is a heck of a lot better!
The straps are a whole lot sturdier and WAY more comfortable. This is an
understatement!
Here's the rub, a friend has the same model Targus, but it was well over
a year old, they went cheap on the newer model and the workmanship has
changed for the worst. I based my original purchase on the older model
(with same model number) because of HIS experience and recommendation.
He also agreed, the newer version was lower quality and they removed
some cool features.
He's now eyeing the ScanFast Checkpoint Friendly Backpack, even though
his Targus is still in good shape (guilt maybe).
Never owned a Mobile Edge before, but the saying "you get what you pay
for" has hit me hard (in a good way).
The Premium also has better protection than the Targus.
I knew the Premium has more padding from reviews, but I thought it
would have a lot less space because of this. I'm darned stoked to be
proven wrong.
I can still fit a Pavilion DV7-2xxx (17.3") into a Caselogic PLS-17
Sleeve with the Power Supply/mouse into the padded backpack holder!
The HP DV7 is 16.2 x 10.9" and with added bulk of the sleeve, P/S &
Mouse in the zippered sleeve pocket, it fit like a glove. Tight enough
to not need the Velcro strap, but can still slide the lappy in and out
easy.
Thanks to Mobile Edge's competition, my investment in Premium Backpack
has made me a happy camper. It will also hold a whole bunch of tech
gear, and all the cables in one neat package.

I travel on 4 planes per week and have gone through many packs, until I got this one.
Mobile Edge makes great products. I beg that you come out with a pack that can fit the Lenovo W700ds.
Speedo Small Pro Backpack
I bought each of my three kids one of these so they could schlep their own gear to swimming practice all winter. The web pocket on the back is great for keeping goggles, cap and wet swimsuits. The top holds a large beach style towel that the kids like to burry themselves in after practice. The side pockets are perfect for storing things like glasses cases and the like.The Jr bag is small enough that my 5 year old is able to carry it loaded with her towel, goggles and cap. After changing it holds her street clothes and a jacket.
Many of the older kids on their team have the full sized bag Speedo Pro Backpack I would go with the full sized Pro bag for kids over 10 or so, or a single child where the parent does not mind carrying the bag. The bigger bag holds things like swim fins that this bag would struggle with.
If you are taking more than one younger child to swim practice and you want them to carry their own gear, I would recommend this bag.

I bought this backpack to take with me on a recent trip to France. Purses always make my shoulder hurt and a backpack (with both straps on) is more difficult to snatch. This bag turned out to be just about perfect. The dimensions in the product info are a little off by my measurements it's about 14" L x 6.5" W x 15" H, the length being the amount of space it will take up along your waistline. The straps were very comfortable, there were lots of useful little pockets, and that big wide opening on the top was great. I was able to fit my netbook, a light sweatshirt, a bottle of water, my wallet, a French phrasebook, some sunscreen, and a few other odds and ends and still have some extra room for souvenirs. I really liked this top-opening design I have a full size backpack that zips all the way around the top and it's always flopping open while I'm trying to pack it up, but this one stayed propped open by itself just fine.One small issue is that the crescent-shaped pocket in the front (with the Speedo logo on it) actually goes all the way to the bottom of the bag. There are some narrow spaces on either side of that black mesh pocket on the bottom where something small can slide down and get stuck. I lost a few hairclips and some Euro cents down there. It was also a little hot to be wearing in the summer, but that isn't the bag's fault. The back has some nice padding so it was very comfortable other than the heat. I bought the silver one because it was the cheapest, and it's very nice. I was afraid it would be too shiny, but it wasn't an issue.

I bought this bag in the café color. I am a seasoned traveler. I have taken this bag on a total 13 domestic and international flights for this review. My goal was to find an alternative to my leather catalog case for something that rolls, holds a laptop, has space for other stuff and looks small enough to avoid arguments with gate agents about bringing it on-board.Out of the box it looks nice. It is a little heavier than I thought, but it's not bad. It included a removable laptop sleeve, but I don't use it. The padding and protection is more than adequate. Even the front zippered pockets have padding. I pack this bag full. I found the document compartment adequate, but it holds less than what the photo may indicate. With all the pockets full there is a tendency for the bag to tip over toward the front, but it's not that bad. Just be careful.
The bag looks nice, but I found some of the features working against me. I value things others may not though. The leather, although really nice, is soft and tends to stick to hard surfaces. For example it does not slide onto the rollers before the x-ray machine, or sliding it over in the overhead aircraft bin. During one flight it was in the overhead bin in such a way that was preventing the bin from being closed. The attempts of the flight attendant actually scraped off some of the leather because it was sticking to the plastic in the bin. I haven't seen artificial bag material do this.
My biggest annoyance is the telescoping handle. Yes, it is long enough and strong enough, but the handle part you actually hold at the top is terrible. It has these semi-hard ribs that dig into my hand like dull knives. Not only that, but there is a plastic seam along the edge that also scrapes into my hand. So it is impossible to get a comfortable grip on it. After my first two flights I thought I was going to get a blister. I mean the design is really terrible. I actually considered returning the bag just because of it. The designers probably thought it would be a better grip, but they failed. I actually hold onto the bag with as light a grip as possible now so I don't get blisters. Don't be surprised if your fingers at least turn red. I might wrap electrical tape around it. Next time I hope the designers weigh the bad down and walk around an airport for a day for testing.
I found the two leather carry handles uncomfortable also. They are strong enough, but they are fairly hard and curved, so they bend your fingers back in a curved shape. Not a great feeling if you have 15-20 pounds you are carrying.
I have had no trouble with the wheels. It has rollerblade wheels so it shouldn't be difficult to replace them if necessary. They roll smoothly and quietly.
There is a leather strap thing on the back of the bag so you can slip it over the handle of another rolling bag. This strap is leather, but is attached to the bag with elastic, so it holds on pretty well. The only problem with this strap is that the bottom of it catches on escalator steps. Every time I walk onto an escalator the stairs move up out of the floor, catch on this strap thing and lift the bag up. Very annoying. It is also starting to rip a little bit. Of course you may just be careful on how you enter the escalator, which is what I now have to do with this bag.
Overall it is a nice bag, but the handle issues really leave me disappointed. This bag may be more suited to you if you don't travel frequently. If I could go back in time, would I still buy this bag? I don't know. If you asked me after the first few flights, no I would not. Now, maybe it has grown on me a little more. It just annoys me that I paid this much money to have to put up with poor handle designs, which is the one part of a bag you are constantly dealing with.

High Sierra AT607 Carry On Travel Bag with Backpack Straps
This was used over the past year as a carry-on when I had business trips all over the world on various airliners and I have never had a problem getting this backpack checked as a carry-on. The bag is compact and if you pack tight and well, you can fit a lot of stuff in it. I used to put a laptop on the top if I was under the weight limits and it was a simple flip over to get thru security without really having to remove the laptop out of the bag completely. It has a convenient shoulder strap which is great if you hate having a backpack on your shoulders. I was able to fit 3-5 days worth of clothing depending on what I had to pack in, and there's a generous sized pocket in the front that I fit toiletries in as well as odds and ends such as wires needed for work.Now, for the bad parts, a few airlines allowed larger carry-on than this bag by a significant amount, which results in more checked bags if you travel heavy. Also, the straps in the main compartment tended to clump clothes together on rare occasions if you were trying to squeeze as much as possible out of the space.
All minor nuances, but for the price, and the size, it can't be beat. It's rare to find a bag that is small enough to be allowed on multiple airlines as a carry-on and this bag is also near the dimension limits for more than half the airlines I traveled on which was very convenient and allowed the most use of the carry on allowed. Add in the bag's light weight and it's almost a perfect carry-on bag.
So far I have used it on one airline trip. I did not check it, but instead used overhead bins. It has two easy-to-grab strong handles (side and top) and comes with a removable shoulder strap. The backside has a thick pad for comfort that doubles as a loop to strap it on your rolling luggage handle. This turned out to be a handy feature.
The zippers with their tassels have held up fine so far, though I am reluctant to check the bag. This bag is a cross between luggage and a backpack. The hidden waist clips, shoulder straps, and back pad make it an acceptable backpack. The silver piping is also highly reflective for night safety. As luggage it has handles, shoulder strap, and a thick-tough outside fabric that holds it shape. A very good compromise overall.
Occasional airline traveler.

I have a couple of Prana bags :) I buy them for friends and I recently got this particular bag for my mom. She loves it!! It's got a very Boho/Hippie feel to it, with little hints of Native American design. Prana makes great climbing gear and really can be trusted when it comes down to making quality product. SwissGear 15.6-Inch Granite Backpack for Notebook (GA-7335-07F00)
Got this backpack for "free" (money spent on this backpack was given back in form of rebate) from one of those office supply store sales.FEATURES
-Laptop sleeve...No use to me in day-to-day school life, but on the occasions that I did have to carry my 15" laptop, it fit well and I felt that it was very secure. The laptop sleeve is a red pocket in the main compartment with a thick, 2" velcro strap on top. The velcro strap is a nice touch. It kept my laptop from jiggling around too much while power-walking across campus.
-Shoulder straps...My shoulder and back muscles have a love-hate relationship with these straps. It's very comfortably padded, it's actually one of the main reasons why I bought this backpack. This is perhaps the most comfortable backpack I've ever had. Unfortunately, all the padding makes the backpack heavy, even when there's nothing in it. The fabric has started to fray a little bit on the sides after three years of daily school use, but it's not too bad. Also, the padding inside the shoulder straps have worn thin (or compressed or something)so it's not as luxuriously padded as before. It's still very usable though. I love that the fabric of the shoulder straps don't pick up residue from duct tape (yes, I went through that stupid phase where people put random pieces of duct tape on their backpacks).
-TWO top handles...At first I was like, what the hell? Why are there TWO top handles? I only need one. But through the years, I found that the two handles were very useful. There's a thinner handle more towards the shoulder straps and a thicker handle towards the main compartment. I find the thinner handle useful for hauling the backpack out of a car trunk and the thicker handle for picking it up off the floor. I'd say each handle gets equal use.
-Main compartment...Very spacious, and it fit a lot of my crap and school supplies in it. And when I say crap, I mean crap. Like, half-empty plastic water bottles, old plastic baggies of snacks, etc. And it fit my school supplies on top of that. It fit five 2" binders and 3 one subject spiral bound notebooks. Impressive. Plus a light/medium weight jacket. Furthermore, the fabric is even kind of waterproof! I haven't dumped it in a bathtub or anything, but I found my school stuff desert-dry after walking in the pouring rain. However, the bottom of the main compartment is NOT waterproof, so when I accidentally dropped it in a puddle, all my stuff got soaked.
-Second compartment...Pockets for pens and a cell phone and iPod and even a key ring and such are included. However, I didn't really use this pocket much. The thin (but sturdy!) fabric separating this compartment and the main one meant that anything bulky in here would interfere with the main compartment.
-Third outer compartment...I used this pocket to store all my supplies (pens, pencils, mini ruler, calculator, etc.). It works very well for this purpose, but be warned that pencils will make it kind of dirty. All the lead/graphite dust gets everywhere. I suppose this pocket would also be good for holding a wallet or sunglasses.
-Water bottle holders...I guess both would've worked fine, if I hadn't been stupid enough to ruin both of them by putting sharp rocks in both pockets. The rocks tore up the mesh pockets, so it was pretty much unusable after that.
OVERALL
This backpack performed fabulously, and is still going strong after three years of daily school abuse. It's been thrown carelessly, dragged across the concrete, yanked this way to that, had chocolate ice cream spill inside of it (easily removed with soap and water), and dropped in a puddle. However, as I move on to a new chapter of my life, I feel that I need a new backpack (Dakine, this time) as well. Therefore, it's time to retire this backpack. Thank you, Swiss Gear, for three years of a fantastic backpack. Highly recommended to anyone considering buying a backpack.
I looked everywhere before I bought it and couldn't find anyone that had fit a laptop larger than 15". In hopes that I will save someone the hassle of searching, this bag will fit a 17" MacBook Pro (2nd gen.) nicely, but there isn't much room to spare. My laptop measures 1" H x 15.4" W x 10.4" D. If your laptop is any larger, you may have issues.
My only complaint is that the adjustment straps are unnecessarily long, but otherwise it's a great backpack.

I bought this backpack to use for school. My 15.6 inch laptop fits with room to spare, and the laptop compartment and shoulder straps are very well padded. Even with the laptop in it, there's plenty of room in the back pocket for whatever else I need to put in there. The color is a little uglier than I expected, and the inside is red. The very front pocket is larger than what I'm used to for holding pens, pencils, etc. I'd rather have a smaller pocket for that. But overall, it seems like a quality backpack for the price. This bag is perfect for my needs. Great size... It fits my 15.4" laptop just fine with room to spare and the velcro strap to hold it is fully adjustable, so it doesn't wiggle. Lots of space for accessories, papers, and anything else I need to carry. I love the colors. The green is subtle and goes well with the black... the dark red inside is a nice contrast and make it easy to see what's what. Lots of pockets for anything and everything and great attention to detail.If I had to make a complaint it would be that the straps are a little wide for everyday use... but if I really loaded it up with heavy stuff, I would appreciate the extra support and padding, I'm sure.
All in all, a great backpack!

It's a perfect backpack that I wanted except for it's huge size. It's too big. Specially the shoulder straps. They are long and width of straps is more. I liked the color. It's lovely. My 15.4" dell laptop fits nicely in it. I guess 17" laptop can also fit in it.It has got three pockets including front small zipped pocket and two side pockets. There are two main compartments, one is for laptop with swiss guard that protects laptop, still having plenty room for books or other things. Another medium sized compartment with many small pockets. Inner side of main compartment is red and it looks awesome. Red and green colors go well with eachother. Great combination.
Easy to carry and comfortable. I am really happy that there was no shipping charge.
In a nutshell, it's a good laptop backpack. :):):)

I've been using a lot of different laptops backpacks, bags and cases for around 10 years or so, and this is the first time my computer gets damaged while being inside the back pack. The back pack Fell from the bed to the ground and got an awful bump on the corner of my 3k+ Macbook pro. I Assure Is not the first time any of my computer cases fell onto the ground on a minor height but it is indeed the first time it gets damaged,While the design On the Campus Pack is cool, it fails to fulfill the simple function of protecting your precious machine. Cant really recommend.
A word of caution: Be careful when zipping up the front pockets, the interior cloth was sticking out while I quickly zipped up a pocket and I badly ripped the interior. Can no longer use the top pocket because of this error. :(

Herschel Supply Pop Quiz Navy Backpack
I'm about eight months into owning this backpack, and so far everything has held up amazingly well. It doesn't really get dirty, and the only parts showing any age is a slight yellowing of the white zipper (which is expected) and the patch that says herschel supply is getting a bit dirty (also expected). All the brown leather-like material is all still intact and not even close to coming apart. All around great, good looking backpack.

Piel Leather Multi-Pocket Laptop Backpack - Black
I am sure the backpack is great! Unfortunately the backpack I received from this seller, Luggage Pros was a factory second! The right and left straps have different buckles. The left strap works. The buckle on the right strap is the wrong kind and allows the strap to slip free and come lose without warning. I had a $4000 notebook computer in this bag the first time I used the bag and the strap slipped. You can imagine what happened next. I am now trying to return the pack. The seller is making me pay for shipping to return a defective product. This is not right.

The zipper on all pocket are of good quallity no zipper problem so far(which is saying alot the way my grandson opens and closes them).I impressed with the bag but we only had it a month and 1/2 so not sure how it going to hold up in the long run.

This gear bag is perfect. Everything in it's place because there is a pocket or a place for everything. Keeps my daughter very organized an it just happens to be her team colors. Like I said. It's a nice bag, but it's kind of small and barely holds all of my equipment. Now there's a mysterious hole in the bottom of my bag, most likely from being on the ground in the dugout.The zipper from the bat portion chipped some of the paint off from my practice bat too. So just be aware of that.
All in all, it's ok.
