4 stars because it was much too wide for my tastes.
Had this bag since December of 2012. Only one string of the zipper has popped. It's an awesome backpack all around. Spacious inside and in the front compartments. More than enough room is in the top compartment as well for that easy access. Puma needs to construct their zippers better, that's my only issue. I own many Puma products but two bags, and in both bags, the string has popped.

The leather bag is taller than stated and is pretty big. The side pocket is too small for an I phone or EVO to fit and have flap close.
I am very happy with the case. I love how nicely my 15.6in laptop fits inside. The case is think enough I feel it is protected from minor bumps and its not so big that it becomes to bulky to get around. I'm sure if I dropped it in this case it would still break, but I knew that when I ordered it. I am very happy with it.
Caution, bought this case for my Sony Vaio AR630e 17" Notebook (one of the models it's suppose to be compatitble with) and it is a really tight fit. Yes it is possible to cram the notebook into the case with lots of pulling, tugging and stretching, but there is the fear of damaging or scratching the notebook. If possible, try the case first with your notebook. I would not buy site unseen. Finally, if you are in my position with this case already in hand and experiencing a tight fit with your Sony 17" Vaio, try placing your notebook into the case with the front down (toward the back of the case) as I find it fits much better. Funny how most of the people who give this case positive reviews, buy it for notebooks other than Sony Vaio(s).

Well today I shipped my second backpack back to Amazon. The first one arrived Christmas Eve (it was supposed to be a gift) with a LARGE tear in the bottom. The second backpack arrived this week with a LARGE tear in the top. The plastic is brittle and both backpacks almost appeared to have been slashed with a box cutter. Very disspointing. Thankfully Amazon makes returns easy.

I am completely satisfed with this product. I purchased it for my 11 year as a school requirment. When looking around at his classmates' backpacks, I found his to be bigger and more sturdier than the ones that I saw his classmated carrying.got this bag for a high school student. she did not have it long before it ripped. apparently not durable enough for school books and folders a lot of them. My son started middle school this year, where clear backpacks are required. I was happy to find this one on amazon that was well rated and affordable. However, it is only the sixth week of school and my son brought it home on Friday with a huge hole in it. It's right at the seam on the bottom, which points to lack of sturdy construction. I'm now looking for one to replace this one.
