I purchased these mostly because the price was so low. 70% less than using Pelican or any other name brand. I was so pleasantly surprised when I started re-doing my VanGuard case (which I really like), and found that these worked better for me. They gave my two layers deep in my case as they are half the depth of the original insert. It allowed me to better fit and protect my cameras and lenses. These are a little more dense than the originals and I think they will last longer without "chipping out"

The pull apart blocks do not separate easily and cleanly. Looks like the blocks were cut apart with a dull hacksaw. Embarrassed to open my case in front of anyone and pull out equipment. Folks laugh at me for spending so much money on such an ugly piece of foam. If you can find a comparable set of foam inserts from Pelican, buy them.

I eagerly awaited the arrival of this bag because there were design elements that I appreciated in theory before even laying hands on one: magnetic closures for the front instead of noisy velcro, ballistics Cordura all around the bag, not just on the bottom, safety belt webbing for the strap, and the intriguing grid-it system. My other motivation for grabbing it was I wanted a bag that had a somewhat nondescript exterior, no obvious bells and whistles, something that didn't scream "steal this bag!"I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the size of the bagI had read the 13" version was definitely not too large, which I wanted, but I didn't want it to be too small, and it is just about right for my purposes, which was to get a bag that could safely transport my iPad and the stuff I carry with me every day. I am able to get my stuff in the bag, but one thing I don't like about the magnetic latch system is if you overload this bag at all, the magnets don't latch. so the whole bag is fairly insecure at that point. It could really use a couple of straps and buckles to ensure proper closure.
Overall, this is a great bag with nice features, but one problem that makes it hard for me to unconditionally endorse.
A few weeks later, I'm still loving the bag. I've also gotten a 13" MacBook Air which fits in it easily. The only thing I can think of which would make it better is a handle. It'd be nice but it's definitely not necessary. Still strongly recommended.

I looked for a new shoulder bag for a good 3 months, and this bag was exactly what i wanted. I own a Crumpler camera bag, so I had confidence in the brand, but this bag even surpassed my expectations. I bought the dual tone brown, and it looks awesome. The canvas feels indestructible, and the main compartment has a lot more space than appears in the photos.The velcro strip is quite large and can make a lot of noise opening the bag, but this also adds to the durability feel. I couldn't be happier.
NEGATIVES: It's very simple. Perhaps too simple. There is the main area for you laptop for which you can fit almost anything. Then there is another compartment you access with a zipper. Basically it's a pouch. There is nothing in it. Nothing to hold small things in place. The shoulder strap doesn't have any padding either in case you like them
Overall, this is a nice bag with very minimal functions. Get this if you're ok with the simplicity and a little disorganization.

I got this because I hate bulky bags. This has room for my laptop and a few folders of papers as well. It has a nice zipper pouch for the charger and whatever else you want to put in there. The inside of the red/grey bag is a light blue. The velcro is very strong and the handle on top of the bag is also sturdy. My only complaint is that the strap is not padded and on certain jackets sometimes wants to slide off my shoulder. I use the bag to commute by bicycle and it works great for that. The back is lightly padded but not the bottom, but it has been sufficient about protecting my laptop. The construction is very solid. The seams have held up well to months of use. Because I really like the Skivvy Small, that I bough a year and a half ago for my sub-notebook, I decided to purchase the Medium now. Well, it looks like they're not as well made today: the trim is not as nice as on the old one no piping, and the padding feels thinner. So I'm not sure, if it provides adequate protection for my laptop. This bag is great. I like to have two big pockets for my laptop in one and my notebooks in the other. I have had this backpack for at least 4 years. The bag has out lasted the zippers. I would keep this bag, if there was a way I could fix the zippers. This bag is worth the money!

STM Bags Nomad Medium Laptop Messenger
This is probably the best laptop bag I have ever owned. It is the perfect size for my 15 iinch laptop and the sleeve is great. I like that I can carry the sleeve alone and the handles let me attach it to my suitcase from either direction.The inside lined pocket is perfect for my kindle or my IPad, both fit just fine.
The best feature of this bag is the zipper on the top. It allows access to the whole bag without lifting the flap.
Also, when I ordered the bag I assumed the clips were plastic and I was very happy to see that they are metal.
All in all this is a very usable and sturdy bag.

The pink backpack is fashionable for my 5th grader. It is also saving her a lot of backache from lugging heavy science books. This is a quality backpack with lots of pockets, spacious for big books. I like the lifetime warranty and solid feel. The telescoping handle is quality aluminum that is not a struggle to get up or down like some others we looked at.

This backpack is HUGE, which would lead you to believe that it has a lot of room right? WRONG!!!The padding and tight compartments detract from how much you can actually fit in the bag, it is meant to hold electronic items, so students beware. Not only does the padding limit the space that you have to fit books in but it WILL also place all the weight deep into your shoulder blades. I can't stress this enough, the padding on this bag is inefficient and detracts from the purpose of making it comfortable. It is a bulky waste of money if you plan to store anything other than electronics in this.

I wanted a bag that would fit my Toshiba 17 (Satellite P775-S7368) without being bulky or overlarge. Price was not an object, but all the more expensive bags I found were just too big for everyday schlepping around. This bag was a good value (you might benefit from looking around there are better deals out there) and fit perfectly not more than an inch or so to spare and no wasted space. A couple of little things could have been better: No pull strings for zippers not a serious flaw, but these really help; interior pockets could be better, for example, it has a pocket for CD's (really) but not for eye-glasses; key fob requires you put your keys on the integrated ring, rather than snap on you own. Tumi Luggage Georgetown University Backpack
Over the past three years, I've purchased about nine backpacks (mainly Tumi) to hold my laptops, iPad, camera & traveling-electronics stuff. This is by far my favorite and has become my GOTO bag when traveling, which I do very often. It is the perfect size (medium-size & not bulky) with ample room and well-placed pockets. It is so well made, great looking and rugged enough to take the beating of frequent plane-travels. With this bag, I gave away nearly all my previous bags. I plan to keep this for many, many years. Clava Vachetta Leather Laptop Briefcase
I am mind boggled that a fairly expensive and seemingly well made product such as this wasn't tested before marketing to see if the clasps actually held the briefcase closed. THEY DON'T. They are cheaply made particularly in comparison to the rest of the case and do not hold the case closed when there is anything as heavy as laptop in it. It is absolutely infuriating to not be able to use the handle at all, and only be able to use the shoulder strap in the 'lightest' of situations, without the bag spilling open. Buckles, straps, latches anyting would have been more effective than these clasps. Think twice before you get this product. I'm needing to find a leatherworker or cobbler who can add buckles and straps to mine, to save it from being utterly useless.

I bought this for my 7th grader because we desperately needed something that could hold up to lots of books and the wear. Well this backpack is really great. it has the section for the laptop, my son uses it for his binders. The backpack itself is high quality and would have no problems standing up to at least two school years! The only problem I have is I wish it could hold one more book or binder in it. My son has to lug around 6 binders everyday and he is a little small for his age. So far no complaints of any back pain though. The pockets are great for small things. Everything has a place and it does keep things very organized when they need to know where something is.

I love this backpack. There are lots of pockets for bits and bobs. The shoulder straps are very comfortable and easily adjustable, even with the backpack on. Just pull the straps that hang down to pull the backpack up. This is probably my favorite feature. One small problem is the opening for the main pocket isn't as large as I need so it's hard to put some of my larger textbooks in and pull them back out. This bag was inexpensive and also carries a warranty. I like the size of the bag and the pockets, and that it has a laptop sleeve, but the straps are way too wide for my small frame and slip off of my arms. I am going to keep it as I only bring it with me to and from work 3 days a week and am only walking to and from my car.

Victorinox Luggage Altmont 2.0 Flapover Mono-Sling
I purchased this originally thinking it was larger but it was a very nice size and after using it for about 2 weeks on campus (I've owned it for about a month and a half, having packed items in it beforehand) it holds up to the Victorinox name. The backpack also has a small pouch that is hidden by the flap that holds items like cards, keys, etc... I keep some Tylenol and other over-the-counter medicines, small pack of tissues, a bottle of hand sanitizer, and my folded up schedule (that I've been looking for haha)
There is also a pouch on the inside of the backpack that you can keep chargers or other various items. The backpack feels a little odd if it's full carrying it across your shoulder but it feels perfect if you just drape it over one shoulder while walking.
Overall it's a 5/5, it's well-built and carries all of my necessities.

So my backpack of 10+ years had begun to fray on me. Since I do not drive it was my companion everywhere, for tasks like grocery shopping or carrying papers to important appointments.I decided this time to take the plunge and try to get one online, and also to get something that looked different from everything else out there.
The monostrap turns out to be more comfortable than the backpack I switched from. It doesn't slip as much and doesn't dig into my shoulders.
It really passes the test because I have been carrying two 2-liter soda bottles home over a mile walk. It has been able to handle that load several times, and has not frayed or ripped.
2-liters x2 is also good way to describe the volume of the bag. Two bottles kind if max out the space of the main compartment, which is as much as I need. I also have a few smaller items in the inside pocket (Nintendo 3DS and cables) and sure I could probably get a few more things in there. I wouldn't like it any larger. Perfect size; not too awkwardly large, not tiny like a kid's backpack.
The only cons are:
-opening and closing is kind of akward in a rush. You have to unhook the main parachute clip and then open a zipper, as opposed to just a zipper on a traditional backpack. And because of the mono-strap crosses over you diagonally, it's sometimes necessary to unclip that too. This is easily resolved if you take the backpack off prior. For example if you're in an airport line or checkout line.
-The other issue, which is really not one: The supplied torso strap is dumb. It looks goofy, and luckily it can be detached.
Overall it's great though, and looks good too. Love it.
Dakine 26-Litre Jewel Pack
First off I love this brand. Great design. Great Quality. But look closely at what you need it for. If its for school and your kid is required to carry very large books, this bag is not for you.But if they only need to bring books occasionally home, then this is perfect. It works great for us. Can fit a small ultraportable class laptop, and books. Nice organizer in the front. The shoulder strap helps in reducing the weight and discomfort.
You can't go wrong with this brand either. They have many different kinds and sizes. Just look up their website. Much easier to browse than using Amazon.
OVERALL: this is a great backpack for school/college. It has great style, it's durable, and it holds a lot of stuff. You just might have to get a little creative with where you put specific things ;)

Medium Molle Assault Pack USMC Hiking Backpack Tan
This pack is very solid! In length and width, it is about the same size as the USMC Assault Pack. It has MOLLE's PALS webbing all over the pack so I can strap on any attachments that use MOLLE. There are three zipper compartments; the main one, the one on the front, and a smaller pouch at the very top. Inside the main compartment, there is a spot to hold a Camel Bak bladder. The strap buckles themselves are pretty rugged. I tried bending one of the ends on the male buckle and it feels very solid. The straps also come with the Velcro attachment to secure the extra strap when you roll it up (so you don't need tape to wrap them). Not sure how the zipper slider and zipper teeth will hold up. As a Marine, we are always in a hurry and tend to use the zipper rather harshly. I did a few quick zips and it feels pretty solid. Also, the whole pack is lined with double stitching. The actual material for the backpack is awesome! The coyote color is also very tactical looking. As far as the quality of materials compared to the USMC Assault Pack, I give it maybe 1 out of 10 stars lower in quality. This pack is very solid.Remember that this pack is not a main pack. It is the size of a regular day pack, or comparable to the USMC Assault Pack.
I give this product a 9/10 and not 10/10 only because I am comparing it to the USMC Assault Pack the quality of the materials don't seem as strong and for Marines, rugged quality that can sustain a beating is essential. None-the-less, this is still a very solid pack and would bring on deployment!
Gregory Mountain Products Women's Jade 25 Backpack
This pack is actually a few years old since it came out. What a comfortable design, I love the suspension system, keeps you cooler than most, you still get a little sweat but not bad at all. This is just a perfect size for my day hikes with or without the hydration system all my gear fits! Some days I pack more than others and it's nice to know that it will fit comfortably. A lot of ways to adjust as you walk if needed. The two hip pockets are great, maybe a little small and too far back but a great idea for your phone or snacks. The two mesh pockets on each side work for water bottles, but it's a stretch to reach them. The front pocket is roomier than it looks, just loosen the compression straps and stuff it in. Packing with a hydration bottle in the main compartment takes a little creative packing to keep pack width down but it can be done. And I was quite surprised the water stayed cold for so long with no insulation. Overall it's a great day pack, and I'm glad I got one before they were discontinued, a few still out there so be quick! At first I hated the weird greenish-yellow color but it grows on you pretty quick out in the field.I love hiking gear, the innovations are so cool!! This is a great start to my collection of gear for the great outdoors!!
I guess it is unfair for me to give this item a 1 star review because as for the pack itself...I really like it. I like everything about it...no complaints. For people reading this review, I want to reiterate that this is a very good pack. My complaint is with Amazon. I guess my review should be:

I have a very girly, creative girl who loves pink! For a long while I'd be looking for just the right backpack that would make her heart skip a beat and mine as well.
