I purchased this duffel as a gift for my boyfriend. I was super nervous when I ordered because there were only a few ratings, and they were not very positive. Turns out, it was not a problem.I have not personally used the bag, but boyfriend loves it! He loves that all of the compartments zip off, and that they are very easy to use. It comes with so many doo-dads, I don't even know how it works, but he really enjoys it. He travels casually about once a month and needs a duffel to carry clothes, shoes, toiletries, but nothing like suits or ties. He says it fits his needs perfectly, and the only thing he would improve would be more padding/pockets in the backpack.
This is a very affordable, good quality gift for someone who needs a casual traveling bag. I would never buy this bag for myself (instructions are not straightforward and nonexistant, no pockets for personal items like pads or jewelry, high heels might puncture bag material, zippers are somewhat difficult to grasp with nails), but it seems great for the guy in my life.

I love the idea for the duffle bag, but they REALLY need to work on the quality of the materials! The main material is very light, thin, and cheap feeling and is not waterproof. After one use, one of the side zippers started separating. The bag is also not as large as expected, due to the fact that it is divided into the 3 sections, it takes away from the capacity. I've been very happy with STM products in the past. This bag makes 3 for me. I think I can be fairly critical of products as an engineer. This bag is the perfect mobile desk for a someone toting a 17" mobile workstation setup (M6700). Not too big (as I originally thought) and not too small...it's perfect. I really enjoy using this on a daily basis. The quality, weight, design...well done STM. Can't think of anything I'd change.

I have looked at this bag for years and thought I could make it work for my needs but in the end it is simply an odd arrangement of compartments that is not flexible and didn't work for my needs. Who carries a 17" laptop anymore? I thought I could put extra clothes in the laptop compartment, removing the bumpers in there, and then place my 13" MBP in a sleeve in the front compartment, but that space was not large enough to fit my Brenthaven Trek sleeve. Saddleback Leather Classic Briefcase, Chestnut
I purchased one of these cases directly from the company about 2 years ago, and have used it daily ever since. I am hard on briefcases, often over-filling them, but this one has withstood everything. I travel internationally as well as in the USA this bag has been around the world with me, and often generates appreciative comments.When I originally bought it, I had been looking for a solid bag that had the older, academic look of the flapover briefcase. Every other case that that I found had snaps, clips, or other hardware that would have broken within a year under my usage. This case has real hardware that will last and has lasted. Picking a color was hard, but I finally settled on the Chestnut, and haven't regretted it.
This case has full-grain leather, with rivets, and belt-type buckles. When I had problems with one of the buckles on my case I contacted Saddleback Leather and they replaced the buckle and strap for free. I wasn't absolutely sure that it wasn't my fault, rather than a material failure. But they stood behind their product without questioning.
The handle is large, and comfortable. I use the D-rings to clip things to (USB drives, keys, etc)and then let them drape inside the bag, beneath the flap. I also have a black nylon strap (actually, a nylon collar for a dog!) that goes through the circular ring on top, which I use to attach the briefcase to my roller bag when I fly.
I've found this briefcase to be flexible, durable, good looking, and reliable. This briefcase it one of only a handful of items that I have ever purchased which is actually better than advertised. I would definitely recommend it and would buy again. In fact, I may actually buy a second one at some point...I have two children but only one briefcase right now, and I wouldn't want to cause a fight in 40 years or so. ;)
It is a sight to see! Soo beautifully made, leather is unreal and smells like you are sitting in a new car! Cant say enough about this bag! Check out their website when you get a chance, it is amusing and shows you why these products are more expensive than the other crappy leather goods out there. Honestly, I have to say that from the time of placing my order to receiving my bag (only 4 days later) has been one of the most satisfactory experiences I have had when ordering a product online. I purchased this bag as a college graduation gift for myself, and I am so happy I did. I was looking for a bag that was not only stylish, but that would also be durable enough to take an everyday beating. The price may seem a bit hefty, but I think this bag, combined with the company's awesome service, has been worth every penny. I fully expect this bag to keep up with the demands of my very active lifestyle as a graduate student and young professional.For some specifics, the bag does indeed have a TON of room inside, plenty of room for notebooks,a textbook, laptop, charger, lunch, and a newspaper or two. The bag has been a bit stiff (as is expected of any thick-grade leather) but I fully expect it to become more supple with use. It's nice to have an accessory that is both completely user friendly, and gets better looking with use. Also, all the straps come with plenty of punched holes for full personalization, depending on how you want to wear the bag. I'd like to also add that the backpack function is really neat as well. Also, no worrying about cheap stitching as with other brands of all-leather bags. This bag uses metal rivet-like anchors and is VERY sturdy.
All in all, this bag is totally worth the investment. If you're looking for a cheap waste of money, look elsewhere. This bag is top quality, and is rightly priced as such. If you're on the fence, just do some research as I did. No matter where I looked I kept coming back to Saddleback. I'm sure you will too.

I didnt buy this bag from Amazon, I bought mine directly from Saddleback but there would really be no difference in the ordering, so go for it. This is the best bag I have ever owned and I have had more than a few. I have owned bags from Louis Vitton, Armani, Brioni, Zegna and several other "High Quality" Italian leather makers. This bag is cheap compared to all of those and is worth every penny. Its not only beautiful but it is as tough as they come, they are very serious about the 100 year warranty and I doubt that I would ever have to use it. I wonder if anyone really has had to use the warranty. I travel extensively and have been in some pretty harsh environments and have put this bag through pure hell and it has never faltered. If it gets scratched up, it doesnt matter because they disappear with some leather conditioner and a buffing cloth in minutes. I like the scratches on mine, I think it gives it more of a personality. I constantly have people from all over the world coming up to me asking where I got my bag and giving me nonstop compliments on it. The story of Saddleback is quite interesting and a lot of fun to read about, you should check it out. If you want the absolute best leather briefcase, messenger bag, luggage or accessories, you have found it!!!!PS...Do not order one of these from Ebay, its almost guaranteed to be fake! This review is for the medium classic briefcase in chestnut, which I received as a gift recently. I had been eyeballing the Saddleback briefcase for 2 or 3 years so I have done a lot of thinking, comparison shopping, reading of reviews, and examining them first hand when I saw one out and about. Also, as I mention in another comment here, I am a leather craftsman (belts and holsters mostly) so I know a thing or two about leather indeed, I'm a bit obsessed with it.The Saddleback is replacing a soft-side leather briefcase made by Samsonite that I bought in 1993. It has served me well, but is a bit on the small side for my needs and is suffering from the very problems that the Saddleback company is trying to avoid: cheap components and construction that make the bag wear out before it should. The Samsonite I have used cost me $100 and was made with some nice soft leather. The leather has held up wonderfully over the years especially since I treated it every year or so with some Lexol conditioner. The shoulder strap was the first part to go. It was made with two pieces of leather strap that met in the middle and was sewn onto the shoulder pad. Seams are the Achilles heel for a leather product and this was the fatal flaw for the strap. Because the shoulder strap wasn't a single piece all the way from end-to-end, it began the seams began to pull apart after a few years. Then the backing on the shoulder pad began to crack and come apart. It was then I confirmed what I had suspected and lamented; the bag was made of nice leather, but the trim was made with inferior vinyl. Your leather product is only as good as the weakest materials in it, so why would a company make a very nice leather bag with cheap and far less durable vinyl? I made a replacement strap and it has held up just fine. Next, the trim along the seams began to crack and fail. It was also vinyl. The lining started to go next, as it was a cotton fabric. The hardware has held up reasonably well, but was obviously on the way to failure.
I give this description to point out the benefit of the Saddleback briefcase. It has heavy-duty hardware, is made with nothing but leather, and all the stress points are reinforced. If my $100 Samsonite has lasted me almost 20 years, certainly the Saddleback will last me a lifetime. The seams are stitched with heavy thread, double and triple stitched at major stress points, rivets are added, and many areas subject to stretching have a synthetic nylon strip sewn in to help keep the leather from stretching too much. The fasteners are simple buckles with no springs to break or wear out. It's a rugged bag made for heavy use. If you are just looking for a bag to lug around heavy items (I'm a college professor and I regularly carry around my laptop and many books), this will do it. If you plan to use it for carrying a folder or two back and forth to the office, this may not be the best bag for you. Rather, you may want to consider the thin briefcase made by Saddleback or one of their satchels. This bag can be converted into a backpack, and although it's unlikely I will use this feature, it's a nice option to have just in case.
Lets talk about the biggest complaint I've read here and elsewhere: it's heavy. Yes, it's a bit on the heavy side. It's a big briefcase made of thick full-grain cowhide leather with a smooth pigskin lining and heavy-duty hardware. That's heavy stuff. I don't particularly mind it because I am used to carrying a heavy briefcase. However, if you are accustomed to carrying a nylon bag or thin leather bag, this will be quite an adjustment for you.
Next complaint I commonly see is that it's stiff. Yes, it's a bit stiff when new. High-quality full-grain leather is stiff when it's new. This is not garment leather like on a leather jacket or a sofa. For those familiar with the process of breaking in a new baseball glove or shoes, this bag is no different. It's much more rigid when new, but with time and use, it will soften and loosen up. It takes time, which for me is part of the allure of a nice leather bag. I love the experience of watching it break-in over time.
As far as size goes, I think the large bag is probably the best choice for most people. I received the medium bag and it's almost too small for me. I carry a 13" MacBook Pro in a neoprene sleeve and it's a tight fit into the bag from side to side. This may be related to the bag being new and will ease up as the bag breaks in a bit. It's not so tight that it's going to damage the computer, but it's a little more snug than I am used to (kind of like trying on new shoes after wearing your trustee broken in pair). If you have an average size laptop, it is very unlikely you will be able to fit it into a medium bag. Front-to-back there is plenty of room in the bag for my laptop, cords, accessories, books, papers, etc. If you need a little extra space for small items, you may want to consider the pouch Saddleback makes and the owner clips onto the front of his briefcase. Being a leather worker, I made myself a shameless copy of their pouch (pouches are much easier to make than fancy briefcases) and I use it to carry my keys, my phone, a pocket knife, pens, etc. I also regularly slip my iPad into the pocket on the back (in a leather sleeve I made for it) and it works fine. I considered trading my medium in for a large, but when it came time to box it up and send it back, I just couldn't do it since it was a gift from my wife and I am sentimental like that.
And that brings me to my next point, which is Saddleback's customer service. I found them to be extremely friendly and efficient. The company is based in Texas, but as of the time of this writing, they have employees all over the US who work remotely. I tell this to demonstrate how well they can deal with customer issues. Over the course of a few days, I communicate with 4 different people in 4 different states, but my emails were answered quickly and each person appeared to be up-to-speed on the previous communications. I had contacted Saddleback a few times in the past to ask questions about their products and I was always answered quickly with no pressure to buy their products. The company claims to have a 100 year warranty, and from experiences I have read on the Internet (surely they are all true because you can't put anything on the web that isn't true), they do stand behind their products when there is a problem. As far as a return policy, it appears that for warranty issues, they cover the shipping costs. If you want to do an exchange as in my case, all shipping costs are yours. They will issue a return authorization, and all returns must be in as-new condition. They will then credit you for the cost of the return and you place an order for a new item.
Another question I have seen on these bags is about where they are made. My investigation has led me to think that the bags are made in Mexico and are not hand-crafted one at a time by the company's owner. Take that info for whatever it's worth. It's a big deal for some, not so much for others. Although I'd have preferred it to be 100% made in the USA, it's still an American-owned small business with American employees. Also, Mexican leather is known to be some of the better quality stuff on the market. The quality of the leather and craftsmanship appears to be good. The bag looks to be machine stitched with a lock-stitch machine which is typical and relatively durable. Saddle-stitching is better, but can only be accomplished by hand and is very time consuming (and would increase the cost of the bag substantially).
Now, cost. As a guy who knows leather and works in leather, do I think the cost is justified? In this case, yes. I contemplated just making a bag for myself, but upon inspecting one of these first-hand, I knew how much work it would require. I knew that I didn't have the patience or the experience with this type of work to pull off a finished product like this. For a small guy like me, I suspect the materials would run me somewhere in the range of $100 $150 and the time to make it would be several hours. Quality stuff isn't cheap and such is the case with the Saddleback bag.
Finally, I'll speak to the style of the bag. This is not a metropolitan or high-fashion sort of bag. It's a rugged looking, earthy, business casual bag. If you wear khaki pants or jeans to work, this is likely to be your style. If you wear finely tailored suits and wingtip shoes, the classic briefcase may not be your style (but the thin briefcase may be). In the short time I've owned it, I have gotten several compliments on the look and the smell; the smell of the leather is wonderful. I picture myself as Pigpen on Peanuts, but instead of a cloud of dust following me around, I'm cloaked in the smell of leather. :-)
Overall, I'm very pleased with my Saddleback briefcase. Also, if you haven't taken a look at the company's website, it's a great resource for Saddleback products that includes high-def video descriptions of most items.
Maxpedition Condor-II Backpack
As with all Maxpedition packs, the Condor II offers top notch quality, expandability and quality workmanship.The pack is a top loader, so you can cramp in your gear until its full, stomp on the top, then cram some more.
The bottom of the pack has lash points so you can attach a bed roll or sleeping bag. I used a couple of nylon straps and attached a 32 degree sleeping bag to the bottom.
The pack is covered with PALS (ladder system) to attach MOLLE or ALICE equipment all over it. I have the Maxpedition map and GPS case attached to the small outside pouch. While on a hiking trip, I can lay the pack on the ground, open the map case, get the GPS out, drink from the water bladder and never have to open the main compartments of the pack.
The compression straps work well for keeping the pack slim, and for lashing a tri-pod stool to the side of the pack.
I see no reason why this pack can not be used for an over night pack or even a 2 day pack. The main compartment is big enough to carry extra clothing, one man tent, MREs, hammock, rain poncho, poncho liner, tent stakes. While the other compartments are big enough to carry a first aid kit, flashlights, GPS, topo maps, map compass, water filter,, and other odds and ends.
The water bladder compartment is big enough to fit a 2 quart bladder and have plenty of room left over.
The shoulder straps have plenty of padding.
Overall, this is a well built, well designed pack that I highly recommend.
Zippers never caught on excess material and seemed to open and close with absolutely no problems. The fabric is ridiculously stiff and heavy duty, I don't see a hole opening up in a long time. The buckles didn't exactly instill confidence as they seemed a bit thin for my liking. The shoulder straps are made of the same material as the rest of the bag. This is good for keeping it from fraying out on you after a few days of rucking around. However, the reason why I gave this pack 3 stars is because of this very feature. Due to the stiffness of the fabric, the straps will not conform to your shoulders/chest. I typically lug around a much larger Gregory Baltoro 70 loaded up with around 60 lbs with no problems. The Condor II on the other hand, is only loaded with 25 lbs of gear and was simply unbearable for any length of time. Two totally different packs I know, just wanted to make a point of the comfort levels of the shoulder straps. These bad boys cut, pinch and chafe your shoulders and the upper part of your chest. The waist belt which usually offloads the weight from your shoulders didn't help much.
Take note, back packs seem to be priced according to comfort, durability and materials used. The Condor II is all about durability, materials seem to be in the middle and comfort is nonexistent. My suggestion is this, if you're willing to shell out $130-$140 and are using this pack regularly it would behoove you to look at a pack with an internal frame and more comfortable shoulder straps. Forego the almost unnecessary indestructibleness of this pack, attach your own molle strips and you'll be happy. Or (if you can find a way), remove the straps from the Condor II, attach something more comfortable, add a stiff interior frame and you're set. I was actually thinking of doing this, but I need a solid color bag and Gregory straps come in gray.
This backpack is designed to be indestruble plain and simple, if that's what you're looking for and comfort can take a back seat you'll be in heaven. If you need something that is bomb proof AND comfortable, prepare to pay more for it. I decided that I wanted something more comfortable and could stand to lose the molle attachment points and some durability.

My situation involves commuting about thirty five miles into Chicago by train for graduate school and other responsibilities. I have to carry my laptop computer, text books, notebooks, and other small items. I wanted to combine this role with EDC and BOB roles. In particular, I wanted a bag that carries what I need to get back home in case of a disaster, attack, whatever.I bought this bag instead of the Vulture 2 because it has more molle straps on the back. I affixed the following Maxpedition items:
* 6 x 9 padded pouch, affixed to left side, carries substantial first aid supplies
* 10 x 4 bottle holder, affixed to right side, carries soda and snacks
* Monkey admin pouch, affixed to bottom back pocket, EDC role
* Map pack, affixed to top back pocket, maps and compass
I added the 3 liter water bladder as well. After adding all of my three-day items, the bag weighs about twelve pounds (guessing, no scale on hand). It is a little bit of weight but not as much as one would think if I spread out all the gear on a table. The computer and books together weigh quite a lot more than my pack and gear. Because I bought this Condor instead of a Vulture, the aspect ratio is inverted. It is wider than long by a ratio of around 1.5 width to 1 height.
Beside the positive of the attachment possibilities, this pack is highly durable, water resistant, and not easily damaged. This bag can easily meet most outdoor and urban challenges.
You can essentially pimp out this bag to carry everything you can possibly need on a trip. It can easily be converted into a three day bag. It is awesome for outdoor roles, especially with the map case, first aid pouch, and water bladder. There are straps on the bottom of the bag as well. It is something overlooked by a lot of reviewers. While this strap probably is insufficient to hold tent or sleeping bag gear (and this is definitely not a good bag for serious hiking/camping), it can easily hold a tripod, blanket, or any other item commonly taken on one day hikes. I have seen some molle camera bags which I imagine would make this an excellent outdoor photography pack.

I purchased this pack to take with me, basically everywhere. I wanted to put together a modular pack system that held items that could get me through a night or a month. I knew that the pack was not large, but since I was putting together a modular system, I thought it would be about the right size. The main pack carries quite a bit of gear. I do have a few pouches attached to the outside of the pack, which allows me to quickly take what I need if I do not need the entire pack. I have a first aid pouch. A water bottle pouch (where I keep a stainless steel bottle with nested stainless steel cup & my eating flatware , and an utility pouch (where I keep my fire starting kit).In the main pack I Have 8 x 10 tarp, two heavy duty reflective survival blankets, roll of plastic sheeting attached to bottom of pack with the packs bed roll loops), file, knife sharpener, two knives, Kukri machete, carpenters ax (ax and machete attach to molly loops), hand saw, fishing pole W/reel, fishing kit, sling shot, water filter, stainless steel backpacking cook kit, flash light, whistle, 300' of para cord, two rolls of tarred line, compass, three bandannas, two 50 gal trash bags, wetfire tender, candle lantern w/3 candles. one #5 & one #10 sealine dry bags, shammy towel, hand & dish soap, heat sheet, 12 cotton candles, needle nose vice grips,.22 pistol, 20 snares, 12 carabiners, three bungee cords, cable ties, hydration bladder, two days of food and a change of clothes. Add that with the first aid, water bottle, & fire kit pouches and I have a great system & weighs about 32 pounds (with no water in bladder). As you can see this pack holds quite a bit. I keep hearing people say that this is a "DAY" pack. I can tell you that if it is set up right it can be more than a day pack.
The pack is well made and is comfortable, for people with normal or short torso's. If you have a long torso the waist belt will not take the weight of the pack off of your shoulders and makes the pack unbearable after a short time (if you are over 6'tall, this may not be the pack you want). The pack has molly loops all over it making it easy to attach most pouches & accessories. The pack is not water proof, you do get some moisture making its way through the zippers (reason for the 4 stars), but it is a minimal amount. The nylon sheds water well and so far my gear has stayed dry. (I always put a dry bag in at the top of the bag to help keep the moisture from the zippers away from the rest of the gear).
The longest trip I have done with this set up is 6 days, I added a ultra light sleeping bag, and another set of cloths to the pack for that trip. It so far I am pleased with the performance of this pack. Over all this pack is a great base for my system.
UPDATE:
I Have given this pack to the wife and she loves it, and I have to admit that is seems to fit her better than it did me. It was for the most part comfortable, but the longer I had it the less I liked the fit. It seems that maybe 5'10" is at the tall end of this bag. I still stand behind the construction, it is a great pack.

This is a great pack. It's not as large as I'd hoped, but that's my fault for not reading the description a bit more closely. Though not terribly large, this pack is tough as nails. I clearly over stuff it, but it holds together without protest. The zippers are very sturdy, and the stitching seems to be holding up no problem. I shopped major department and sports stores for quite sometime looking for the perfect gym bag. Most bags I found were quite large and had a sports logo on the bag. I needed a much smaller bag and preferred one without a sports logo. I couldn't find what I was looking for so I turned to the internet and found the exact bag I was looking for. This bag will easily hold a toiletry bag, undergarments, gym clothes and shoes with extra room to spare. The side pocket will easily hold a wallet, cell phone, keys, ID cards or other small items. The netted pocket on the other end is perfect for holding small items as well. The material is lightweight and durable. This is a great product but do not believe the sizing information. My 12" x 10.5" HP tx2000 barely fits and I have to force the zipper. If I had known, I likely would have gone up a size. The color of the item as shown on amazon was different than what Adorama sent me. I ordered the laptop sleeve in Stripe, but Adorama sent me Soho Stripe. Even the shapes and sizes of the stripes are different. The item I wanted and thought I was ordering had bright colors (such as purple, red, orange, pink), whereas the item I actually received had darker, less bright colors (such as brown, dark green, tan). I asked them to resolve the problem, but they said they sent the correct color. But clearly, what they sent me was NOT the same color I actually ordered. They said I could send it back for a partial refund. So I would have lost money for something that was not my fault. I had to contact amazon directly to get full refund. BEWARE of ordering from Adorama; get from different seller who will send the correct color. Comfortably carries all of my equipment. Has way more storage space then it appears. The backpack appears sturdy enough though I have only had it a few short weeks. The bag itself is comfortable to carry.
Also -the zipper for the main pocket is light-duty; the brand new backpack already had a kink around the corner. I wouldn't recommend it for a heavy traveler.
So -great features, but the intended laptop doesn't fit, and it isn't that durable.

I've used this backpack for the last 13 months and am now replacing it with a different brand. I liked it initially because it has a well-padded laptop compartment, two padded side compartments and a padded top pocket. The laptop compartment is spacious, and I fitted an extra layer of protective foam in it. It's also relatively water resistant. So, it provided quite good protection for my gear. However, the zips are small and they come apart. The stitching that holds the zip to the fabric breaks. After only about 8 months, the zip stitching on the main compartment broke and the zip began to pull away from the fabric, causing the zip to jam. I repaired the stitching, only to have another patch pull away. After a total of four repairs, I'm sick of this bag. I was also sick of not being able to fit much in it. I wouldn't recommend this bag since the zips are not durable. I ordered this bag and my expectations about this item was just what I thought it would be. It is a good size, even just slightly larger then I really wanted, but it works well for me. I use it to pack into a large backpack, to take some gym clothes with me to work. It takes up some of my space so it is tight, but it gets the job done. The bag material is pretty tough and looks like it will last awhile. I have not used the audio port, but there is an extra storage area that is useable for that or something valuable if need be. I would recommend it.

High Sierra AT605 Carryon On Wheeled Backpack with Removable Day Pack
ProsI did tons of searches for a wheeled book bag that would be easy to whip around the airport as well as serve as a stylish pack once I arrived to my destination. This AT605 Carry-on is great. Light weight, stylish, and plenty of accessible pockets. Just took it on a trip to Texas and it handled well. The wheels are smooth and quite on multiple surfaces including concrete sidewalks. The main compartment is narrow enough to roll down the aisle of a plane, which was great when it came to exiting the plane quickly. Then day pack easily held my 15" MacBook Pro and some other items. There's a quick clip on the carry-on that allows the day pack to quickly snap on if you do not want to take the time to zip the day pack back on. One feature that was a pleasant surprise was the handle strap on the day pack that allows you to slide the day pack on to the extended handle bar of the carry-on piece so that the day pack is vertically stacked with the carry-on. There are so many options that create the convince of carrying this luggage piece.
Cons
When utilizing the day pack feature, I'm all about security. Therefore, I noticed that the front pockets didn't have 2 zippers like the main compartment; which concerned me a tad. It would be much better if they're were 2 zippers on all compartments so that when the zippers closed, they'd be in an upright position vs. a downward position (increasing the possibility of something falling out). Secondly, the straps were not the most comfortable, but I was cool with it. If the straps were cut to curve with the shoulder and chest more, (such as athlete backpacks) it would be almost be a flawless fit. The mesh beverage holder didn't hold up too well. Although, I may have over stretched it with my canteen, so only use a standard bottle when using the beverage holder.
Overall, it's a great buy if you're like me. I like to have durability, accessories, versatility, and look good all at the same time. Thus far, this is a great product.
Although I was finding the set a bit tight on space, the major disappointment came while on my flight out to my destination. At one point I reached down to get something out of the backpack only to find that the handle on the top of the backpack was partially ripped off. This was the first time I had used it I had literally carried the gear to my car, loaded it in, unloaded it at the airport and boarded the plane. In that time, I must have used the handle only a few times and yet it was already ripping. By the time I was part way through my trip, it had ripped off completely and the strap it was attached to on the side where it ripped is now coming loose.
Sadly I will be returning this due to the poor stitching quality. Maybe mine was just a fluke, but obviously handles and straps coming off the first time you use the bag is an indication of a product that isn't built to last or stand the wear and tear of travel. It's unfortunate because otherwise I think the design is nice for someone traveling only a few days at a time or who can pack pretty lightly.

I was really excited about this product, but was disappointed after my first real use. In concept it would solve my troubles flying alone with two check-in bags and a carry-on I could also roll when I got through security. I thought everything was great until I got to the gate and separated the day pack with only my laptop and a few small items to weigh it down, the daypack HANDLE BROKE! The stitching came out of one end, and continued to get worse the rest of the trip.
I returned the product and am trying another High Sierra iteration and see if it hold up better.

Nice bag for vacations that might include side trips. Entire bag was able to be used as a carry on. I loved using this bag in Europe. It was easy to manage on planes, trains and rolling down sidewalks. The backpack is great for cameras or side trips.Bad news on the bag was that stitching ripped on it's first trip, which was disappointing. Good news is that customer service at High Sierra took the bag back and replaced it, including return shipping.
I would recommend this bag. Hopefully the stitching won't be a problem on the replacement bag.

However, I have not heard a word from the seller until this morning. Then I filed a claim at Amazon to get a refund as gift credit. Very soon after I submitted my claim, I got an email from the seller telling me that they have sent the item out but there was NO WAY for them to track where the item could be. They said they were willing to mail me the same item again but it is out of stock. They directed me to another product as a replacement. It is very interesting that the seller got back to me 8 days after I contacted them and right after I filed a claim for a refund. Fortunately, the item was delivered later afternoon. The backpack is in bad quality, it looked dirty and rusty because of the color and its design. But my daughter loves the bag because she loves Dora. I do not want to hurt my six years old who has been thinking about her backpack for more than 10 days. I decided to keep it and make her happy. All I want to say is that this seller has a poor service and the backpack is not in a good quality. Since we have not received the backpack before my daughter went to school, we bought a beautiful backpack at $10 from Target. It is in a much better quality. If your kids love Dora and really want a packpack with Dora and Boots, go for it to make your kids happy. However, in terms of the quality of the item and the quality of the service, I have to rate it very low.

Thermos Foogo Backpack Diaper Bag, Poppy Patch
So far I really like this bag! The only thing I would change would be adding one divider in the bag. Since it's so big, things can get a little lost in the main section without something to separate your stuff. It is big enough to fit everything I need, and I have 3 kids in diapers: newborn, 15 months, and 2 1/2. I have plenty of diapers and wipes, extra clothes, receiving blanket, food, water bottles, small coloring books, my wallet, and a bunch of odds and ends. It's not too heavy to carry even with all their stuff and is comfortable.
UPDATE (7/1/13)
So I do indeed still love this diaper backpack and would buy it again. My only complaint is that the zipper did break after 5 months of hard use but it does have two zippers so I am still able to use it fine. Otherwise it still looks brand new and I have used this backpack pretty much every day since I purchased it 5 months ago. I hav never had a problem with not being able to fit everything in it that I need too and will most likely purchase another one soon to have a replacement when this one is no longer usable.

This is a large bag, too large for everyday use. The interior is black, which I hate, because it is hard to see and find things. The overall construction is not very sturdy. It appears that if you stuff the bag to full capacity as a diaper bag, the bag may break soon.The bag has 2 very large exterior bottle pockets, each can probably hold 2 water bottles. One large zippered compartment with 3 pockets inside and one large slip pocket right at the front. Interior: 2 mesh pockets, 2 side bottle pockets, 2 slip pockets, and 1 zippered pocket. Great that this bag has many pockets inside and out.
But...please manufacturer... no black linings inside a diaper bag. Eyes get very tired searching for things. Also, the exterior front slip pocket should be zippered, with slip pockets inside for cell phone, etc. Moms don't want to open the large main compartment just to access cell phone which could happen several times in an hour.
To me, this bag could be a good bag for picnic.
