I wanted a backpack that will support my back because I carry so much stuff. I was planning on buying a rolling backpack but I didn't have a good experience with them lol.Anyways I came across these types of backpacks on living social but I found this one much cheaper on amazon lol. I decided to try it out because of its "airbak technology".
There is card board in the backpack, I am assuming its to keep the backpack up right and the air bag on the bottom of the bag and bottom half of the back. So far it's really great, but its not for me. The size in the picture looked big and I thought it was going to fit all my stuff. (I guess I should've look or research for the size of this backpack lol)So this is not for people who carry loads of stuff on their back.
Ideally, this backpack is for people who carry an average or less amount of random stuff, not too heavy and not to light, (books, laptop, etc) Even though it didn't fit my things, I decided to test it by putting an average amount of what most people would carry. Well it works, it keeps your back straight and it does feel like you are carrying half the weight.
So if you are carry like 20 pounds or less on your back, I would say get it but it's up to you.
As for the airback technology, its just a bag filled with air at the bottom half of the back. I have heard that it may deflate but if you have the sport ball pump, I think that will work, although I am no sure. The hole looks a little bigger that a ball hole.

The portfolio looks nice and has several useful pockets. However, the biggest issue is that the notepad slot only supports a maximum width of 8.25". If you do not intend to include notepads of standard paper width, then it's amazing. Otherwise, consider another option.

I have a final betsy Johnson bag that Imam always digging ton find surf in, I put this in there and it fit perfectly. It looks neat and organized. It's not as tall as the bag itself so I have Rooney to lay folded blanket or a changing pad on top of everything. I bought a very expensive gorgeous large leather tote. The leather is soft, the purse is very large and it turned into a black hole for all my stuff. I could not find a thing in there and could not stand it anymore. Since my purse is very large I decided to order this product because it is one of the largest organizer inserts. I know it is really meant for diaper bags but if it does the job, who cares! It is fantastic. It fit perfectly into my purse and it organized me immediately. There is a little section for anything I need. I keep my wallet in one section, my makeup in another, etc. I can see it all now and not have to fumble through to find something. It also stands up well enough so that my purse has more shape and does not collapse inward. I am looking forward to using this a lot. The only negative is that the material could be higher quality. I think it will hold up though for my needs.

Many bags and dollars later, and came across this bag. It not only has the space and design needed for transporting a lot of design, presentations and electronic equipment but mort importantly, it has survived 100,000 miles of airport abuse! I would recommend it highly.
As mentioned in other reviews, this bag has a ton of room. I am able to pack all my tech stuff in it as well as two full days worth of clothing without having to stuff it. The smaller laptop bag that fits inside the larger one is absolutely perfect for toting a 15.4" laptop with a power supply and a pad of paper. This works out great when traveling. I can leave the big stuff in the hotel and just bring the important stuff to the remote office.
The unit rolls very well. I can see what people had complained about as far as the handle is concerned, but it really isn't that bad. It may take a couple of pushes or pulls to get it to lock in place, but once it is in place, I haven't had any problems with it moving when it wasn't supposed to. It is such a minor issue that I wouldn't even begin to call it an inconvenience.
This thing is built like a tank. The zippers are very strong and all the seams are stitched very well. It's nice to take a brand new bag out of the box and not see loose strings hanging off the edges.
The one and only thing I could complain about, which isn't even the bag's fault, is that it just barely meets the size restrictions for carry-on luggage. It is pretty difficult to fit in most overhead airline storage bins. But like I said, that isn't the bag, it's the overhead airline storage bins.
I recommend this bag to any road warrior who wants an all-in-one solution for 1-3 day trips. This gets five stars and a thumb's up!

Until I found this case I thought I would have to buy a new computer roller case every 6 to 10 months. Every case I purchased before this one has had quality issues that ranged from flimsy telescoping handles to split zippers and ripped seams. This case has lasted over 2 years of local and long distance business travel and hundreds of roller miles! Banging upstairs and sliding over bumps and blacktop. The zippers are the strongest of any case I have seen. The sturdy telescoping handle is the first one I have not broken while pulling the case up over stairs and steps. I am in the process of buying a my second Wenger Case to replace the first one (The wheels are just about worn out) If I could just replace the wheels I would be good to go as the top of the case is still in very good condition. I highly recommend this case.I recieved this bag as a Christmas gift. Wenger replaced my bag under warranty. It's a lifetime warranty, so nobody is out of luck.These cases are expensive, so let's make Wenger put them right!
My replacement bag isn't much better. I've found that if you snap the handle up quickly while holding the button, it sometimes will extend normally.The best bag I have used so far. Holds an enormous amount of stuff--I use it for my laptop and tons of psychological tests and files I need to take around on site. Plenty of compartments. I've over-stuffed it and contrary to some other reviews, the zippers are fine and the handle does click and lock into place properly on mine. It also rolls very easily even with a ton of weight in it. Very pleased...
I have now used this bag for two years in every conceivable kind of weather, dragged it through snow in northern Vermont, dropped the handle in clumsiness as I tripped over my own feet etc. I still keep it overstuffed and throw it carelessly in the back of my car. And it is going strong! This is one terrific purchase. I've never had a bag last this long and be this trouble free.

I thought this looked like a nice purse by the photos. It is JUST OKAY barely. The leather, lining, zippers and buckles are very poor quality =cheap. The leather looks fake. It lists the regular price as $139... NO WAY! It isn't worth the $50 I paud, but also not worth restocking and return shipping fees. Belkin 15.4-Inch Messenger Bag (Jet/Cabernet)
This is a great bag if all you need to carry is your laptop and few other small items. I am using it for a 15.4" MacBook Pro, a second generation iPod Nano, WD Passport HD, a few cables, USB thumb drive. Also, a few pieces of paper. I'd never be able to add a text book or anything like that. It's exactly what I was looking for. It's small, light and the strap that goes over your shoulder is very wide. I haven't had to carry this for a long period of time yet, but I am sure it will be nice. I used to have a laptop bag with a smaller strap and after a couple hours of travel (airport etc) my should would hurt. With this bag I don't think that'll be a problem.UPDATE (Jan 18th, 2010) I have had this bag for a few years now. I can report that carrying this bag for long periods of time does not cause pain in my shoulder, even loaded up and heavy. The strap is wide enough that the pressure is low.
I feel it's well built, feels solid. There are a few different pockets, but they are all a little small, so I'm not sure what use they are. The area the laptop rests is lined with a very soft velvet like material. I wish the MP3 player slot was the same, but it's not, it's the same material as the rest of the bag. Also, the main zipper only unzips halfway, so that if you are wearing the bag and you unzip it, the laptop will not fall out. This is a great feature when you are at the airport and you need to remove it etc. It keeps your bag from flapping open and spilling your stuff everywhere. There is a quick access pocket in the back that is perfect for storing paperwork, tickets, confirmation info for your rental car etc. Finally, a nice handle on top, if you want to carry it without using the strap. The strap is not removable...for me, I like that, but for some that may be bothersome.

First, I have a Dell 15.4" laptop with a 9-cell battery. The 9-cell protrudes out from the back of the laptop and adds about an inch to the depth. It does fit in the Belkin case okay. However, because the padded compartment for the laptop rests slightly under the main zipper, I'm paranoid that the zipper teeth will scratch the laptop. I live with it by putting the bottom of the laptop towards the back of the case. I'm able to throw my AC adapter in along with it and it's somewhat of a snug fit.
Inside, there are 2 pen pockets, 2 card pockets, and 2 larger general pockets. There is also one smaller zippered pocket that runs along the top of the case, which looks large enough to put cables in. Oddly, the outside has one large zippered pocket that does not go through the inside of the case at all. The headphone passthrough can only be accessed from the zippered OUTSIDE pocket. This means you can only put your audio player in the outside pocket, which offers less protection for your god-knows-how-expensive music player.
Though the zippers work well and have a nice plastic colored pulls that matches the case, I wish the material was less slippery. A rubber coated one may have made zipping and unzipping a bit easier. Also, I wish that the strap were attached to 360 degree moving hinges and that it were removable.
All in all, it's a decent bag for the money. It's no Tumi bag, but of course the Belkin costs hundreds less.

This bag is the most comfortable that I've had. It fits my 15" HP laptop along with the cord and adaptor, over-ear headphones, portable Seagate external hard drive and case, and kensington laptop cord-lock. I especially like the velvet lined laptop compartment; there is no chance of the surface getting scratched. There is even a zippered compartment in the back to store the shoulder strap when you want to use the handles instead. Additionally, there is a slot in the front in which to access your headphones without removing your mp3 or ipod from the case. An important note: this bag isn't the dark expresso brown as shown in the picture. I love the look of this bag and it fits my Macbook Pro perfectly. The power cord pouch is extremely helpful, and I love the fact that there is a handle on top of the bag so I can carry around as a briefcase. The only problem I have with the bag is that the shoulder strap is too short for me with it extended all the way. I am 5"7 and I am a little busty and I have found that the strap is very short I tend to like my messenger bags to sit just below by hip. This bag sits at my waist just above my hip and feels a little confining. I had my mother try it on and she is 5"4 and overweight by about 75lbs and this bag was short on her as well but it did come down to to her hip. A great bag for a good price! This bag is sturdy, comfortable, fabulous looking, and light weight. I have a Dell Inspiron 1420 and it fits great in the extra padded area. I think a 15in would fit well, too, but my computer doesn't slide around, either. Love this bag. Very durable, super supportive, love all the gear loops, and the hidden straps come in handy for securing overloads (or to compress smaller loads). If you have the right packable gear, this bag can easily be used for a three or four day treck. Also stays dry inside, when snow hiking if I can't get to a tree to hang it from I've just plopped it down in the snow for a short break with no worries. Only 4* because the removable top piece likes to slip loose if there is any weight in it, but this is an easy fix by just changing out the sliders on the webbing. Also there is a place for a bladder but there is no exit for the hose so you must keep the pouch partially unzipped in the corner which is not a problem but just a visual thing. Also I wish there was a mesh pocket for a water bottle or a small pocket on the waist strap... Wishes not necessities though. Great bag lots of space (when you need it) and very comfy. I've used this bag for day hikes to weekend trips and plan to use it for some more extended trips soon!

I bought this backpack about 3 months ago to replace one that I loved and had worn out from years of travel. This one has turned out to be an excellent replacement.PROS: The laptop slot is padded well, without being too bulky
Decent amount of storage for a notebook, my iPad some pens and other random stuff.
Fits very well under an airplane seat.
So far has been very sturdy.
Middle pocket has 2 pen slots and business card holders.
CONS: The side pockets don't hold very much. I'd like to put my power cord and mouse in one pocket, but they don't both fit so I end up using both pockets just for those.
The zippers don't always close smoothly, but maybe that will change in time.
Doesn't really have any decent way to carry cords.
Tumi Alpha Classic Garment Bag 22134
This Tumi classic garment bag is probably the most used piece of luggage I have. I take it on all of my business trips and personal travel. The bag is large enough to fit a weeks worth of clothes in it. The only downside to this bag is sometimes the airlines do not let you take it carry one since it is too big. I have checked it numerous times and it's withstood everything I've thrown at it. The only thing I have had to replace is the shoulder strap!

Very nice design. It's slightly wider than expected (based on my previous bag), but has great features that make this the only bag I need for weekly business travel. If you travel a lot for business, this is one of the most versatile, multifunction bags you can own. Great internal compartments, easily keeps two full suits wrinkle free, it's also sturdy and integrates into other system. So why didn't I give it five stars? Nothing is ever perfect!

BBP Hamptons Hybrid Messenger/Backpack Laptop Bag Obsidian Black Large
I got this bag finally after a long time of thinking about it. I could never bring myself to get it based on how much it cost. But I finally broke down and treated myself to it and I have not been disappointed.I love the "backpack" type of double shoulder straps. I'm a golfer and have had a similar setup on my golf bag for 10-15 years. It's a very comfortable way to carry weight for a long time period.
I think this bag would be perfect for people that live in a city and walk to work, or to a college student that needs to walk around campus carrying a few books and their laptop.
The bag is laid out very well and the buckles are very easy to use.
Only two things I'd "complain" about the bag:
1) I do not believe it's the end all be all of bags that some online sites will tell you it is. That's just my opinion and perhaps that's because I'm not the target audience for the product. However, I still think it's worth the money if you have a heavy laptop and want a more comfortable way of carrying it.
2) There is no dedicated pouch for the laptop power supply other than the main compartment. This makes it a bit awkward to put the power supply in there when you have a large notebook and some other items, but it will fit. Would have been good had they been able to figure out an external pouch specifically for the supply. But again, this is not a deal breaker for me.
CONS: The bag is advertised as being both a backpack & messenger bag. But the shoulder strap is designed in such a way that it makes messenger bag carry very cumbersome and uncomfortable. When shortening the strap as instructed, it leaves slack that's either left dangling or bunched up. It not only looks bad but also gets in the way. What also gets in the way is the big plastic buckle & button strap (used for back pack mode) on the strap that is also left dangling. Also there is no padding in the middle of the strap, so when you carry the bag messenger-bag style, the strap bites into your shoulder. The padding only works when you carry backpack-style. This problem would be solved if BumBakPak had two separate straps instead of one "all-in-one" strap. Speaking of straps, contrary to the company ads, this bag WILL bounce against your bum when wearing it as a backpack...unless you also use the included hip & sternum straps. I also noticed that some of the smaller pockets on the Hamptons bag have thin nylon and are unlined on the inside. Over time these pockets will wear out faster than the rest of the bag. Finally I have a minor beef. BumBakPak went cheap and only put zipper pulls on the zippers on the outside of the bag. The interior zippers have no pulls, it's up to you to make your own with paracord or shoelaces. Come on BumBakPak! These pulls cost less than $0.10 a piece! Cheapos!
The Hamptons Hybrid (L size) is a decent big bag with lots of room and pockets. Carrying your junk in an organized way is a snap. But bottom line with the included strap makes the Back Pack mode good, Messenger Bag mode bad!

I have been going back and forth about buying this bag since I hadn't found one in-store to look at. After reading so many reviews I decided to purchase it(sight unseen)from another online store since Amazon no longer carries it. All I can say is...wow.I was concerned that my 17" Macbook Pro laptop would not fit. I was very surprised that it worked! I even have the clear case on the laptop. It is a snug fit, but who cares? It has enough pockets to hold everything I need for school. It has pen/pencil slots, cellphone pocket, a place for my iPod, books, laptop, water bottle, umbrella, etc.
It has 2 different sized water bottle mesh pockets, so you can carry a small 12-20 oz. bottle in one, or a 1 litre in the other (just not at the same time). It has another pouch on the other side that is not mesh for additional storage. It has straps on the inside of the flap to hold an umbrella (which is important where I am). There is a back slot that will hold file folders, or thin notebooks. There are 4 slots for pens/pencils. Numerous pockets to fit powercords, battery, headphones, and just about anything else you can think of.
I was afraid I wouldn't find anything to replace my favorite backpack (Swissgear) that it is falling apart. I have no worries now. This is a great replacement, and it will hold my monster laptop that the Swissgear backpack wouldn't.
I have seen some reviews that indicate there are no directions on how to convert the strap from single strap to the backpack strap. That is not true. There are instructions supplied on the attached paper tags. Converting the straps was very simple. They even put a tag on the umbrella straps to let you know what they were for. This is a pretty great bag.
Since I just got it I can't attest to comfort yet, but will update after I have used it for awhile. I got this for a good price ($69.99), and it has everything I need. If you are looking for a good bag to hold your large laptop, this could just be what you were looking for. I would even use this for traveling, as it can be hooked into the handle of your rolling luggage (like in the pictures).
Update**After using the bag the past week the only complaint I have is where they have the umbrella straps. I realize they don't want a wet umbrella ruining your papers, but how they have it now makes the front flap stick out too far, and it makes closing it awkward. It would be nice just to have the straps about 5-6" higher. Otherwise, no complaints. Still really like this bag.

I'm not quite 5'3" and this bag looked utterly ridiculous on me because of the size. I liked the amount of pockets, but really there are better options out there. I bought a Skooba after this one, and returned it as well. Finally, I've landed on the Booq Mamba less pain than a shoulder bag, sleeker and sexier than the bumbackpack, and the best organization I've found so far. My 11 year old bought with her own money and completely loves it. Sturdy and cute for a boy or girl.
ZUCA Slider Backpack
After launching a career change into corporate training, I knew I'd be doing some travelling. In the last few years I've not been a world traveler but I'm doing more than I did before the new job. I wanted a bag that I could carry on, would hold a lot of stuff and be rugged. ZUCA is all that and more. I typically go out for 3-5 days. I can get two suits, two shirts, shoes, underwear/socks/2 ties, shaving kit and more in the carry on. The backpack easily holds my laptop, a projector, maybe a shirt or two, lots of assorted stuff (wallet/cell/$$/5 hr energy drink), books & magazines. Anything longer than these rips I'd check a bag but for most of my travel, ZUCA rocks.This should tell you something. Nearly every trip, someone will comment on the bag/backtop. It looks indestructible, doubles as a seat (yes, I've used it for that) and is just different. I've thought maybe my next career move should be applying to ZUCA.
These products are the real deal. Rugged, utilitarian and unique. I recommend it with no hesitation.
