Military Inspired Canvas Sling Bag Bookbag Backpack Black
I got this bag for my husband. He was hoping to find one that he could carry around his camera and other misc stuff, but also his smaller laptop (15") for work. In the product description it states the large pocket is 19" not including the strap... This is a flat out lie.. I have NO IDEA how they managed to come up with that number. The largest pocket is only 13.5" and the zipper opening for access to said pocket is only 8"! Basically, the largest pocket is all but useless; you couldn't even fit a average size hardcover book inside the opening without risking damage to the book.That being said, my husband will still use it, and likes the style. It fits wonderfully on his back and is comfortable. But I'm extremely frustrated over being so deceived.

My son has used it frequently with no complaints. He wouldn't trade it for another. Plenty of pockets and easy to load and unload.Is a strong and resistent backpack for trecking or backpack traveling. however, is not the most practical on the market. not manyzippers for de center part.. very confortable. I recomendonfide it very much... in addition, jansport is brand that inspire cconfidenceI bought this bag for my roommate as a gift. Overall, this bag is very adjustable with many pockets. Very light and was able to keep the weight off the shoulders very well. Went on 4 hikes with this bag and so far so good.
On a side note, this bag's material is nice and feels rugged but try not to get caught in the rain with it. I would recommend a rain cover with this but every bag needs some sort of protection.

This is a very nice and well made backpack. My grand-daughter loves it. The design is cute and appears just as it was described.I've had an impossible time locating this style of book bag and have to say we are pleased. Part of the lining tore but it still functions just fine...lining tore due to having too many things in the book bag. My daughter absolutely loves it. Kelty Red Cloud 90 Internal Frame Backpack
I spent many days traveling to all the different outdoor retailers looking at larger backpacks, I had my choices down to 3. The Kelty Red Cloud 90, REI Mars 85, and the Gregory Baltoro 75. I narrowed that to the Kelty and the Gregory. For suspension cant beat the Gregory, but for the price I would expect that. The Kelty had a excellent suspension as well, I tried it in the store loaded for about an hour walking around and was surprised at the comfort level.Ultimately you need to buy what fits you best, and no one manufacturer fits all so try them all and see what fits you, but if you are considering the Kelty red cloud, I would give it positive review and recommend it highly.
As a side note, I wanted to have some extra buckles for field repair, just in case, I called service, they sent them to me for free.
Hard to find any company these days that still remember customer service.

Purchased this pack for a Grand Canyon trip as my old pack had seen better days. I purchased the pack based on reviews, price and capacity. The pack itself is well built and has plenty of options to suit most longer distance trips 5-10 days. Of course, what one would put in the pack is going to be based on where the trip is, climate, experience, money etc. For me, the pack carries what I need and does it well. I will be carrying up to 70 lbs total for hopefully short durations on my trip. This pack handles the weight fairly well for the price. As others have mentioned, the so-called bottle holders on the side are not fit to hold bottles. They do hold plenty of smaller quick access items. I have not noticed buckle slippage that others report. However, I do not mind making adjustments as the day progresses and plan on it actually to maintain comfort. Bending the frame to fit is a bit of a chore but can be a rewarding "custom" fit. Yes, this pack requires bending (if needed) of the frame stays to accomodate various body profiles. The instructions are very basic but they'll give you the basic concept. I have noticed the waist belt padding will slip up leaving the belt itself digging a bit on my hips. An easy adjustment and I am good to go but some additional stitching would remedy this. I would like the bottom to be of a sturdier (water proof) material as I can see abrasion on the bottom of the pack over time wearing the material out or creating holes. I looked at all the larger backpacks 60 to 110 cheaper to the expensive in all the name brands. In the end i purchased the kelty and i would not trade it in now. No other pack compares to the kelty for the price. Would have to pay another 100.00 to get anything of equal quality. The buckles zippers stitching function excellent. Noticeably smoother and more functional than any other pack in this price range. Combined it with a Coleman roll top dry bag 16" X 43" which inserted as a liner inside the pack perfectly. Kept everything perfectly dry for a Minnesota boundary waters vacation. There are a couple of things I find this pack falls short with:-It's big. For most backpackers, if you pack right, 65-75 liters should be great. Figure out in-store how much room you're going to need.
-It's heavy at 5.5lbs. There are similar sized packs for 1/3 of the weight for another $50 or so, but their suspension is most likely worse. GoLite makes great packs for ultralight backpackers.
That being said, the lumbar pad and heavy cushioning throughout make this pack extremely comfortable, even after long use. Some users have reviewed Kelty straps as slippingI have not come across this. Washing the webbing straps with warm soapy water might remedy any slips.
All in all, I love this pack. Here's why:
-Abrasion resistance. The fabric feels bulletproof. Everything that would scratch it slips off without catching on the thick fabric. Hopefully with more field testing this does not change, but as of now, there is zero wear-and-tear on my pack.
-Water resistance. This pack is NOT waterproofno taped seams or waterproof coating, but it looks like it will take well to spray-on treatments (I have not tested this). You can buy a rain cover for it.
-Space. Here's why I love this pack. It's roomy and spacious, but the straps on the outside manage the space well enough that a 75% loaded pack does not slosh around or unbalance while you walk. The bottom section has a separate zipper for loading in a sleeping bag, and it's spacious enough for the heaviest fill bags available if you use compression sacks (and possibly if you don't). I use this for winter camping, where during a hike to a campsite I can easily fit my hammock, my sleeping bag, my winter coat, and all the socks a boy can dream of.
With my full gear, I don't exceed 25-30 lbs with water as well using this pack. That's not bad!

Kelty Redstart 26 Daypack
I've been using this bag for the better part of a year now, and I take it to work and back every day. There are a lot of great things about this bag and not really any bad things. One thing to keep in mind: this bag is 100% designed to be carried with both shoulder straps on and the sternum strap connected. If you do that, this will be the most comfortable backpack you'll ever use. You will forget it's there, that's how comfortable it is. However, if you like to carry your backpack slung over one shoulder, college-student style, it will not stay on your shoulder. It will be very awkward and uncomfortable, and it will keep slipping off. This bag was purpose-built to be very comfortable with both shoulder straps and sternum strap, and it is not comfortable at all in any other position.The bag is exceptionally well-designed with very high construction quality, like most Kelty products. There is a surprisingly well-designed flat plastic frame inside the bag, behind the backpanel that serves as a light frame and keeps the bag in shape. It has a second, bonus usage: there is a wide, flat pocket inside the main compartment that lays flat against the plastic frame sheet in which you can put documents/folders. Because they are laying flat against the frame, your documents/folders will not bend, even if you stuff your main compartment with other items. The inside organizer pocket near the top of the inside flap is great, and there is a zip compartment behind it for a few other loose items, as well. The side mesh pockets are very, very useful: easy to reach around and put stuff in there and take stuff out, but have just enough retention at the opening so that stuff never falls out.
I really like the design of the main compartment opening, too, but with a caveat. With the small, quasi-top-loading zipper area and the straps that clip over the main zipper, you feel pretty secure. No one is going to try to open it while you're in public; it would be too difficult, and you'd definitely catch them. But there is a drawback to that, too. If it is that difficult for thieves to get into the main compartment... well, then logic dictates that it will also be difficult for you to get into the main compartment. It is a little bit of a pain to unclip the two straps, unzip the quasi-top-loading main compartment, and reach down there for stuff. If you are constantly taking your bag off, opening the main compartment, and taking major items out, this bag might be too much of a hassle.
All in all, great bag. If you wear the bag with both shoulder straps connected and don't need to access the main compartment every five minutes, you will appreciate this bag's excellent, secure, comfortable design. If you wear your backpack slung over one shoulder, aren't terribly concerned with someone trying to open it on a train or something, and are constantly getting stuff out of the main compartment, this is not the bag for you.

Well, I spent more time looking at this bag and thinking about it, and I can really see how this was designed as a hiking daypack. That's really what it is. It's not a bookbag or a schoolbag, actually, and so I can't dock any stars for that since it isn't designed for that. In fact, Kelty even specifically calls it a daypack. Now then, I use mine as a bookbag, and I like it a lot for it's excellent ergonomics, high construction quality, and fantastic design. But my above caveats stand:
1. an excellent daypack
2. a so-so backpack
3. a meh school/bookbag
Pros:
Lightweight
Durable
Very comfortable straps that are easy to adjust
Water bottle holders on each side
Cons:
The torso buckle looked a little flimsy but it has held up well so far
Both the Mrs. and I wore it and despite our vastly different frame sizes found it comfortable.

I bought this backpack because on the thumbnail, it seemed like the backpack consisted of charcoalbrownbrownish colors, but thats not the case. The backpack is entirely charcoal colored, which is a bummer. Other than that, the backpack seems solid and I anticipate that it will last a vast amount of time! Inside the bag, there's enough compartments to keep your tools/school supplies organize. The straps on the backpack are uncomfortable when wearing a tank top or something similar. Also, you can probably fit a 15 inch laptop for i can fit my 13-inch macbook pro and there is still a little room left. I go on occasional day hikes, but I primarily use the pack for bike commuting to college. It's much more spacious that it seems, I can always fit all my books, computer, and an extra set of clothes or a jacket. My only complaint is that it's difficult to see the bottom of the bag because the top opening is very small. If the zipper was longer, I think it would make the pack more functional without compromising its function.Save 5% Off

DAKINE Men's Point Surf Pack
We purchased this back pack for a cruise so that we could keep all of the things we needed with us while off of the ship. The front compartment enabled us to store documents and make them easily reachable. The sunglass pouch did an excellent job of protecting sunglasses.The back pack was also comfortable to wear for long periods (like waiting to board, waiting in line on the Lido deck, etc.). Even better, the side pocket was perfect for holding a large water bottle.
We abused this back pack (dragged, kicked, sand and sun) and it still looks new. We look forward to many years of use.
Badlands 2200 Backpack
Have used it for over 5 years now. Have packed out a muley buck, a whole elk a quarter at a time, a mountain goat, a whole antelope. I had a clip break on it and a dog chew through the pocket to get at some jerky, and the company replaced the clip and fixed the hole for free. The 4 of us that hunt together all have one. Looking for a deal. The last one you will have to buy.

I purchased the 2200 last September for a Wyoming deer hunt. I loved almost everything about this pack. The bad: a) the flap pockets are not wide and big enough to hold a compact spotting scope. I had a difficult time storing and removing my compact spotting scope, a Nikon ED 50 straight field scope, without the tripod attached; b) The two compression straps attached to the folding compartments are too far apart to properly compress any type of load being carried inside of the flaps; and, c) SHORT and MEDIUM framed individuals beware! This pack was designed for tall men or men with long upper body torsos. I am 5'9& tall and the pack did not fit well. I have many different brand backpacks and have always used packs with mid-sized frames; however, there was no way of properly adjusting the pack to fit my torso. Aside from the above, this is great pack with nice features. I sold my 2200 to a friend, who is 6' tall, and he absolutely loves it. This case is great. color is very nice and it's very well made. Fits the Dell inspiron 15R n5010 & Dell inspiron 1525. I'll test it on other laptops when I have the chance to.Some said that the straps are not good quality but I think they are good.
The only problem is that the front pocket is not wide enough for the charger, the mouse and any other accessorises. I can get them in but it's very tight. But i love it anyway !

I got this carrying case for my Macbook Pro. (I use this for general getting-around purposes with my laptop, and a padded sleeve for airline travel.) Let me just say that I love it!
