The pattern on this Vera Bradley bag is beautiful and it has lots of outside compartments to store things. For me, it is way too large; it resembles a diaper bag :( I was looking for a spring/summer bag but feel awkward carrying such a big bag around. I'll probably give this to someone.

So, what do I think of the Lowepro Hatchback 22L? I love it. I wasn't sure if it was going to big enough for my D90 with 24-70mm and the grip attached. No worries, the camera fits great and there is room for my 50mm and 10-20mm, plus a little extra room and that's just in the camera section.

I was attracted to the fact that it doesn't scream "Hi, there's an expensive camera in here", I can convert it to a regular (non-camera) backpack if I need and I can carry my stuff on back, which is key for wrangling a kid or outdoor adventures in the future. I bought this for our first trip to Disneyland with our child. It fit my Canon T3i DSLR camera and plenty of extras (like my Kindle in the outer pocket and all of my chargers and a jacket in the upper compartment). It worked great as a carry-on for the plane and I felt comfortable knowing my new camera was pretty safe in the overhead. I like the storm flap that you can pull around the camera and used that feature before a few of the damp rides like Pirates of the Caribbean. I had trouble finding the outer storm sack that you see in pictures and at first was worried that it was left out of my order -turns out it's at the very bottom of the backpack, tucked inside the area that would sit on the ground, if you set the backpack upright on the ground, just so you know. Since we had to be screened by security a good bit on the trip, people checking my backpack often complimented on it. I'm a camera novice, so I was not storing multiple lense attachments, but I'm getting if I pick up an extra flash or fancier lense attachment in the future, I should be able to fit that nicely, too. I love the little black band square in the camera compartment that store extra SD cards so you don't lose them. This bag is really nicely made and I wish it would work for me, but being only 5' tall, the pack hangs down too low. When I tighten the straps to pull it higher, the top hanging strap digs into my neck. The pack is really designed for taller people.
I bought this for my step-daughter who is an anime, manga and all around Naruto fan. She fawned over this when she saw it in the store at Christmas and I found this on Amazon for her as a "first week of junir high" present. the item was oddly shaped and not a good match to the picture. This bag is AWESOME. I love it, it's plenty big in size and works perfectly as an overnight bag or just taking a bunch of stuff with me anywhere, school too. There aren't any pockets on the inside and the zipper that opens up doesn't open up too big but you don't really need to take anything that big with you anyway. The top opening is smaller than the zipper, but it's just like the opening in the top. It's a very durable bag and looks very similar to Gaara's bag. If you can afford the bag, really want it too, then I say you should get it. You won't regret it.

I really like this case. I ordered it with standard shipping and recieved it in two days which was fantastic. The case is great for me. The only thing negative I would say about this is that the sizing when ordering is a little bit confusing. Also, I ordered the 'Devin Checks' and in the picture it showed the case to be gray, blue, and white. The case I recieved is teal, pale yellow, and different shades of gray. This doesn't really bother me because I like the colors I got even better than what was on the picture. However, be careful if you really have your heart set on what it looks like online. The Amazon ad didn't mention that this is a "trim" fit. At 5'10", this was too short for me. Otherwise it may have been ok, but I also didn't like the overly padded, bulky, unwieldy shoulder and hip straps. Had to send this back, obviously. After trying this as a cheaper alternative, I went ahead and spent a little more on a Mountainsmith pack which I love.

I bought this backpack for my daughter who is in 5th grade. I figured she could use the laptop pouch later on when she actually had a laptop to use. The backpack is sturdy and rolls well. My suggestions to improve the design would be to make the handle smoother to pull and also to not have the shaft protrude so far into the main compartment. Space is reduced fairly dramatically with the interior of the handle but I guess there isn't a lot you can do about that. I felt the Calpack backpacks had more room for books but weren't quite as sturdy as this pack and also not as nice looking. My daughter can fit her lunch, her binder, and one book but not much else.

An excellent, very sturdy, fairly light-weight bag, for either wheels or backpack. It looks like it's made of a truly tough material, has a couple of front zippered pockets a smallish one for large iPod-type objects, and a really large one with inner pockets and flaps and pencil-holders sketchbooks, folders, magazines, etc probably even a small laptop. And the main compartment is, of course, huge easily stores a few days' clothes and toiletries, plus odds & ends has a couple of good-size inner pockets also. This bag held up well travelling as a rolling carryon on a medium-length trip with a plane change, 3 other carryons, a car seat and a baby. I bought this bag for my last two semesters in college. After I bought my laptop, and put heavy textbooks in a regular backpack, carrying the backpack around was really taking a toll on my back. So after i purchased this bag, my back pain was relieved because its on wheels.
In general I like Eagle Creek stuff and own a lot of it. The basic idea of the Wallaby as a clam shell, hanging shaving kit (or the equivalent for women) is a good one. Hotel sinks seldom have enough space and whatever you put there invariably gets wet or falls off the narrow spaces around a pedistal sink. So a hanging kit is a good idea. But the designers of the Wallaby wanted to give you a small mirror too, perhaps for installing contact lenses or doing something when another mirror is not available. However a glass mirror would present a danger if broken, so they put this mirror on to a thick, non-breakable plastic plate, making it bulky. What's worse, the mirror is located in the exact same place as the clunky swivel "knuckle" on the plastic hanging hook, so the two conflict with one another. The swivel knuckle and thick mirror together, separated by one piece of nylon fabric, create a large, hard lump on one side of the Wallaby, which I didn't like. A swiveling knuckle is not necessary; a fabric or elastic attachment to the case would serve the same purpose and not conflict with the mirror. The plastic hanging hook should be flat. That simple design change would eliminate the problem. The other gripe I have is that the illustrations on Eagle Creek's webiste and on Amazon don't adequately show the inside of the Wallaby, the organization of the elastic pockets. The pockets configuration is more important than the outside appearance of the closed unit. The interior is a different color than the outside, so you can't tell from the product photo what the inside color is, because it's different for each exterior color. For the Rio Red, the interior is a particularly unappealing gray that doesn't contrast well with the contents, so as to aid in rapid identification of the contents you put there. Black or white or almost any other color designed to contrast or highlight the contents would be more helpful. More design thought to eliminating the conflict between the hanging hook and the mirror, and better selection of the interior color (at least so a customer would know what the color is before ordering it) would improve the product greatly. All the interior pockets don't need elastic tops. At least one compartment should have a see-through net and zippered top to contain small, loose objects like tweezers and whatnot. I returned mine, but I'd consider it again with some design modifications. The Wallaby is a good idea, but not yet ready for prime time.

I just got it in the mail today, and it's even prettier than the picture! The actual colors are much bolder, and it's the perfect size for my 5 year old's ballet class.
