Osprey Axis Backpack

Osprey Axis Backpack, Limestone TanThis replaced my NorthFace Ion.

I am fully satisfied with this bag after using it for a month now.

Has enough compartments to hold a small bottle of water, snacks, books, a 13 inch MacBook Pro,

keys, etc.

If you have more than 3 heavy textbooks, then this is not for you. Might want to get a bigger bag.

I go to grad school and this works perfectly for me.

I have been hauling a 15" Mac, a 11" Toshiba, their power cords, at least 3 huge apples/oranges, a sandwich, wallet, pens, at least 3 or 4 notebooks and other assorted knick-knacks in this bag on foot for ~2.5 miles everyday to and fro from work for the past five months. It took sometime for me to get the adjustment of the straps right, but once I did, I could hardly feel the weight of all the stuff in the bag. The bag contours can be adjusted to fit very close to my back. So I can break into a jog and not have the contents rattle back and forth. The bag looks small even when filled to the brim, but it does fit in all my everyday essentials very easily. The colour (ember orange) is extremely visible which is what I was aiming for as I want motorists/cyclists to spot me easily. The bag has been through a bunch of rainstorms now and I am happy to report that it is fairly waterproof none of my stuff in the main or the side pockets were wet after walking 25 minutes in a fairly heavy downpour. Based on my ~5 month daily use, I would very highly recommend this bag for everyday commuting by foot or bike.

I ordered this pack at what I thought was a decent price but when I received it, the supplier had not taken off the price tags and they showed $10 cheaper than what I paid on Amazon. I called them and they told me that I had to speak to a manager who was not in that day. He called me back but by then I decided to return the pack and buy it someplace else as I thought that I was already getting the best price from that supplier when I ordered it.

I work in an industrial facility that is large enough that running back and forth to my car is a hassle, so I bought this to be just big enough to bring some Tupperware/fast food containers, some magazines and some basic supplies with me.

I chose the orange color because I routinely ride my motorcycle to work and the people in WA state seem to have an aversion to looking before they make any move in a vehicle, so anything you can do to stand out helps (Because a loud piped, bright green crotch rocket just isn't visible enough on it's own).

The bag has held up very well over the last 3 years with the only wear being that the Osprey logo is starting to come off. I wash the bag about twice a year and hang dry it then waterproof spray it and it looks pretty much brand new.

I would buy another Osprey brand bag simply based on the performance of this bag. I have Camelbak, Ogio, Jansport and Drago brand backpacks and none get used as hard, or as often, as this little one.

This bag has a surprising amount of space and better organization than I expected. I found a water bottle that fits in the side pocket because a regular bottle sticking out of the pocket didn't feel very secure. I'll probably never use a bladder with it but the compartment works great for a tablet or netbook. There's a slot just above the ice axe holder that it can slip into so you don't have this big loop dangerously sticking out from the bottom of your pack. I probably won't be using an ice axe either.

The compression works great but I have to say it looks messy on the front. I got the limestone tan color and I imagine a darker color would look better (something that really doesn't bother me). The shoulder straps are very comfortable, I'll never use the chest strap so I wish it was removable. Fortunately the waist strap is, this pack is too small to need one in my opinion. I've found an idiosyncrasy in that it won't stay on if I'm just slinging it over one shoulder. I have to put both straps on if I want to carry it, or use the handle on top. I don't have that problem with any other pack I've owned so I'm assuming it's a characteristic of this bag. Maybe that's a safety feature in case you have an ice axe hanging from it.

Quality of materials and construction are as good as I've ever seen. The zipper pulls are the best ever. The mesh pockets inside are perfect. I really like this bag.

Meffort Inc 15.6" Laptop Sleeve with Extra Side Pocket , Soft Carrying Handle & Removable Shoulder

Meffort Inc 15.6' Laptop Sleeve with Extra Side Pocket , Soft Carrying Handle & Removable Shoulder Strap / Notebook Bag Case for Apple Macbook Air Pro Acer Asus Dell HP Sony 15' 14' 14.1' and MoreThis bag served me well for four months. It fit my thin, 16" laptop (Acer's Aspire Timeline X), and the front pouch was handy for carrying the power supply.

One of my favorite features of the bag is its should strap. Yesterday, however, the strap broke in a parking lot, causing the bag--with the laptop in it--to tumble to the pavement. At first I assumed that the hook which removes the strap had come open. But no--the stitching that attaches the strap's anchor to the bag had come unraveled. Very poor workmanship, especially considering that the case hadn't been used for anything else besides carrying my laptop to and from work and is only four months old.

I got lucky this time (computer survived the fall) but will never use or buy a product from this company again. Spend the extra money to get a better quality carrier for your laptop.

This bag is as advertised in terms of design, which I liked, and size. The pocket is great, padded, and zips up. However, it has that cheap plastic smell and makes everything smell like that. Plus, I bought this sleeve because it had the shoulder strap, but the strap squeaks when you're walking and it's right up near your ear but I couldn't locate it or stop it.

The product is great, easy to carry, the pocket awesome to carry cord! The smell of rubber at first is too strong and it penetrates into your clothing but is less or you get used to it! The bad thing was that it not arrived on time, it was miss sent and I had to contact them twice to find out where it was!!!

The North Face Hot Shot

The North Face Hotshot Backpack BlackI received this bag a year ago as a present, and it's still holding up strong. I'm known to load up my bags when I'm running around, and this thing can handle basically anything. I really like that it doesn't look bulky when you put a lot of things in it, and it won't make you think it's going to rip at any minute. As an extreme case, I periodically put my 15lb bowling ball in it when I want to have it with me, and the bag doesn't strain at all. The straps really give that added support that will keep the bag from stretching out of shape. I looked for the same support as this bag in cheaper options, but nothing came close to giving the same back support. You can barely tell when you have something heavy in it.

The Northface just makes QUALITY products. I'm a full time worker/student/bike rider. This thing has it all. Fits my needs and makes me look coolER at the same time. Lol

Buy The North Face Hot Shot Now

I'm a full-time college student, so I carry with me a lot of stuff as big books, scholar supplies, notebooks, laptops, cellphone, MP3, tablet and other electronic device. As you may guess, I don't have space in pockets to take all of that, lol. And a simple backpack wouldn't work. So I bought this new backpack. It is great, I like it. All my stuff fit very well. It protects all my stuff of damages and weather.

An amazing thing is that with all my stuff inside, this backpack doesn't look full-like, it doesn't look like a backpack full of a lot of things. It stays normal. In addition, it looks great modern. It is a nice backpack.

It was a great purchase and with a lot of pockets and space. I recommend to buy this backpack.

18" Padded Back Panel Hiking Daypack Student Backpack School Kids Bookbag

18 Inch Red Sturdy Dual Compartment Padded Back Panel Hiking Day Pack Climbing Backpack School Bookbag With Daisy Chain and Modified D-RingBackpack ran a size smaller than I thought. The space inside is tight. I can only see a child using this back for school. Secondly it isn't very strong. The first day I used it the little silver circular handles for the zip popped right off, because the rings attached to the zips are loose.

Fieldline Black Canyon Backpack

Fieldline Black Canyon BackpackI got one of these locally for about $10, and it's OK at that price point.

I chose this bag to hold an emergency kit for the car. I have a WEATHERHANDLER for basic breakdown stuff, but felt I might need a little more if I end up stranded for a couple of days or hiking home for some reason. Since it will be sitting in my trunk most of the time, this inexpensive pack seems a good choice.

It's a pretty simple bag. There's a large main compartment, a small front compartment with three internal pockets, and a pouch for a water bottle on the side (see customer images). The main compartment will easily hold a fleece sleeping bag, a 1-man backpacking tent, and probably a change of clothes if you pack them flat. I can get a heavy poncho, several tools, and a shaving kit in the front compartment without too much trouble. The bottle pouch works, but is kind of short and you have to keep an eye on it if you have a tall bottle. The pack is pretty comfortable for the price.

While this bag is reasonably well designed, it is not particularly well constructed. I don't expect it to fall apart on a two-day walk along a road, but I wouldn't rely on it on a rough hike through the forest. I could probably tear the straps off bare-handed if I made an effort, the zippers are marginal, and the material of the pack itself is lightweight. I actually bought a pack at a local bargain store for $5 that was somewhat smaller and less comfortable, but much more durable.

For a get home bag that might see light to moderate use after sitting in my trunk for a year, this Fieldline is perfectly adequate.

$10 at walmart. fits some stuff. great for a school pack. not exactly great for hunting in it tears easily took it out once and the bottom blew out (probably because I had like 60 pounds of logging chains in it).

Osprey Sirrus 36-Litre Backpack

Osprey Sirrus 36-Litre BackpackI bought this backpack for a 2 week backpacking trip in Spain. I chose this size because I could carry it on a plane, and was very manageable for carrying a lot of weight. I don't think I could've purchased a better bag! It's extremely durable first of all, and I thought the different compartments were just right. There weren't a ton of tiny pockets (like for a computer type of brief case), but one large storage area, along with a few internal and external compartments.

I also purchased this bag because I was specifically looking for a women's edition bag. Before buying this bag, I purchased a men's backpack and ended up returning it because it didn't feel right. The women's cut makes a world of difference! By the end of my trip, I was toting around 2 bottles of wine in addition to all my other junk, and it was still pretty managable, which I believe is mostly because the straps and buckles fit me just right.

I feel really strongly about my purchase and would recommend this backpack to anyone. On a side note, I also used compression bags in order to pack more clothing as well.

It took me some days to decide which back pack I should buy to my trip to Brazil. I made the perfect choice! I just took this backpack with me for 15 days on the road, it is extremely comfortable and resistant! I had to check it in several local airports of Brazil and I was really worried it could get damaged, to my surprise the back pack was in excellent conditions and the harness mesh, which might seem to be vulnerable to be torn, was without a damage after 7 flights!! The raincover is great and in general it is really spacious. I loved the pockets on the sides of the hipbelt. I had the optimal amount of shoes and clothes for my hiking adventure and I could pack everything in it, I don't like to have an uncomfortable heavy pack on my back which make me feel like a loading donkey but neither a small one in which I would not be able to back all my travel stuff for 15 days, and this pack pack is just perfect!!

I was debating whether to splurge on this backpack because I really wanted it or get a more affordable option.

I'm glad I got this backpack.

I love all the compartments. My laptop (13" Dell XPS ultrabook) fits perfectly in the water pouch. I use this backpack both for everyday use and short backpacking trips. The pack can hold a surprising amount of stuff if you want it to. The curvature of the frame does make the large pocket a weird curved shape, so sometimes things get lost in the bottom, but this isn't a deal buster. The gap between the frame and mesh on your back is great. It let's your back get air, and it's a head-turner (and conversation-starter) at work.

I am 5'6'' and have a shorter back, and this frame is a bit on the large side, but it still fits. The small would also probably have been a suitable choice.

I have this pack in purple. I use it for my shorter day hikes. (For my longer hikes I use an Osprey Ariel 65). In both cases, the frames in the packs offer great support, but they also are lightweight and flexible. The frames flex when I move so the packs maintain their comfort level.

I like the compression strap placement plus the fact that the top pocket is divided into two sections.

The two pockets on the hip belt are nice for snacks or small items (I keep medication and extra camera battery in one, and snacks in the other). The small pocket in the right chest strap doesn't hold much, but it is big enough for my ipod nano or a pack of tissues.

After switching from Kelty to Osprey, I won't go back. I absolutely love the frames built into the Osprey packs. They are lightweight and very comfortable to wear. When I lift my pack by hand, it's heavy but when it's on my back, it's very wearable. I can load this up with 30# worth of gear and not feel the weight of it at all.

I'm 5 feet tall and most bags just don't fit or have features that I like. This one can be ordered in multiple sizes. I don't do any overnight hiking but like to carry extra jackets and food for long day hikes. This is perfect. My back doesn't sweat and it is very comfortable.

The one slighty larger than this one is from what I can tell exactly the same except for an extra compartment at the top. I ordered both and returned the larger one because I don't like the way it hit the back of my head. If you do need the room for extra gear it may be a good solution for you.

Yo Gabba Gabba: Foofa 18" Plush Backpack

Yo Gabba Gabba: Foofa 18' Plush BackpackI got the Yo Gabba Gabba: Foofa 18'' Plush Backpack for my niece with the illusions of it being an actual backpack (i.e. a place where she can store a few toys, some crayons and the ilk). You can barely fit one small toy. It's more like a plush doll with the ability to store one item, which just so happens to have backpack straps. It may sound like I'm nitpicking but it was not what I expected.

I rated this product, relatively, high because my niece does love it. She takes it with her everywhere.

We went to the yo gabba gabba live show. My two year old really wanted this backpack, they were selling it at the show for $35. Loved the amazon price. I just wished the backpack had a larger compartment. It really does not hold anything, but is super cute.

Sugarbooger Kiddie Play Back Pack, Matryoshka Doll

Sugarbooger Kiddie Play Back Pack, Matryoshka DollI purchased this one for my daughter and the robot one for my son as preschool bags. They are the perfect size for what they need. A little larger than a lunchbox. They are a canvas material and the colors are very vibrant. The perfect size for a lunch, a small security blanket and one change of clothes.

I wanted something small enough that my two year old could carry it herself, but big enough to fit what we need when on the run. This bag is perfect. The design is simple and the bag is well made. Plus, it's really, really cute. I am pleased. I also think this would work well for someone who is looking for a pre-K school pack.

The fabric on this backpack is completely adorable and also interest-catching for my daughter. (dolls!) However, I am disappointed to say that this just didn't work for us. Let me start by saying that my daughter (16 mos. old) LOVES backpacks, says "ba pa" all the time, and is interested in our hiking back packs, her backpack carrier, etc. That being said, she refuses to wear this backpack and, when we do manage to get it on her, it slips off. She is average size for her age. It may just be that she is too young OR it may be that, while the rest of the backpack is nice quality, the shoulder straps are not padded and are that slick, nylon strap material. Overall, love the styling but it just isn't practical for a toddler her age.

Eagle Creek Travel Gear Pack-It Wallaby

Eagle Creek Travel Gear Pack-It Wallaby, BlackIn general I like Eagle Creek stuff and own a lot of it. The basic idea of the Wallaby as a clam shell, hanging shaving kit (or the equivalent for women) is a good one. Hotel sinks seldom have enough space and whatever you put there invariably gets wet or falls off the narrow spaces around a pedistal sink. So a hanging kit is a good idea. But the designers of the Wallaby wanted to give you a small mirror too, perhaps for installing contact lenses or doing something when another mirror is not available. However a glass mirror would present a danger if broken, so they put this mirror on to a thick, non-breakable plastic plate, making it bulky. What's worse, the mirror is located in the exact same place as the clunky swivel "knuckle" on the plastic hanging hook, so the two conflict with one another. The swivel knuckle and thick mirror together, separated by one piece of nylon fabric, create a large, hard lump on one side of the Wallaby, which I didn't like. A swiveling knuckle is not necessary; a fabric or elastic attachment to the case would serve the same purpose and not conflict with the mirror. The plastic hanging hook should be flat. That simple design change would eliminate the problem. The other gripe I have is that the illustrations on Eagle Creek's webiste and on Amazon don't adequately show the inside of the Wallaby, the organization of the elastic pockets. The pockets configuration is more important than the outside appearance of the closed unit. The interior is a different color than the outside, so you can't tell from the product photo what the inside color is, because it's different for each exterior color. For the Rio Red, the interior is a particularly unappealing gray that doesn't contrast well with the contents, so as to aid in rapid identification of the contents you put there. Black or white or almost any other color designed to contrast or highlight the contents would be more helpful. More design thought to eliminating the conflict between the hanging hook and the mirror, and better selection of the interior color (at least so a customer would know what the color is before ordering it) would improve the product greatly. All the interior pockets don't need elastic tops. At least one compartment should have a see-through net and zippered top to contain small, loose objects like tweezers and whatnot. I returned mine, but I'd consider it again with some design modifications. The Wallaby is a good idea, but not yet ready for prime time.

I was looking for a large toiletry kit to replace on old one that is on its last legs. The size of the wallaby was stated to be 400 Cubic Inches. If only. I just went back to the website to find the actual dimmensions Capacity: 400 cu in / 6.5 L Weight: 13 x 7.5 x 3 in / 33 x 19 x 8 cm . I did the arithmetic. 13 * 7.5 * 3 is 292.5 cubic inches. I wanted something at least as large as my old kit, slightly larger than 380. Eagle Creek Travel Gear Pack-It Wallaby

I've had this for around 2 years; I bought it go on with me on safari in Kenya, where it came in extremely helpful, as it has the high-quality swivel hook, so you can hang it pretty much anywhere.

I should also add I love the red, and that it feels "safari"-y. Sorry, but there it is. : )

But as much as I've hated to admit it in the last 2 years, I've always just felt it needed something.

Specifically, more pockets and side-conatainers.

For example, if you use the top netted area for things that need to dry (toothbrush, soap container), you can't put band-aids in there. And obviously you can't put band-aids in the wet pocket, and after that there's no place for them to go. They just flop around in the middle compartment with all the other stuff. The little elastic-y pockets inside don't accomplish a whole lot.

It's just one example. This thing is basically a giant, super-light clamshell zip-pocket with two big containers and some elastic pouches that don't fit anything all that well. After that, to separate or sort anything you're out of luck.

So I've spent a lot of time looking at other models, and today got the Ricardo Beverly Hills Essentials Travel Organizer, which is doing a much better job at a cheaper price.

Sorry, Eagle Creek. I love you guys, but a hyper-organizer like me just needs a few more options!

This is so convenient while traveling just fill it up with your makeup and other personal products, and throw it in your luggage. When you arrive, just unzip and use the hanger to attach it to any convenient rod in the bathroom. You don't have to unpack it, and everything is divided into compartments within easy reach. When you're ready to go, just slide the hanger back into its pouch, zip it back up, and throw it back into your luggage. No more trying to find room for everything on small sink counters or leaving things behind. It's a time saver, and so convenient, I'll never travel again without it.

Samsonite Leather Expandable Briefcase

Samsonite Leather Expandable BriefcaseI am not happy with the quality of this bag. For the price I paid, and for it being less than three months since I made the purchase, I find the following issues to be unacceptable. The first issue is the shoulder strap clips that attach to loops on the bag stratch the paint. There are now chipped copper rings showing instead of black rings. The second issue is the stichwork is coming undone in several places, including the handles and the side pockets. I feel this is either a non Samsonite product, or Samsonite products are not as good as they make themselves out to be. I do not overload the bag, and I treat it very carefully. Sadly, at this rate, I have another 3-6 months to go on it before I will be using a bag that looks to be 5 years old. I do have to say that the leather is nice, but the quality of craftsmenship is very poor.

I would not recommend purchasing this bag to anyone at this price. I would say it is worth 30$ and that is being generous.

+ It has a lot of space.

+ My wife thinks it looks nicer than my old bag.

I looked at quite a few Samsonite bags at the store. I was impressed and thought that I couldn't go wrong buying a product from them. I was expecting to get a nice quality bag at a reasonable price, so I was disappointed when this bag arrived.

It looks like cheap pleather.

Poor craftsmanship

My friend said it looked like a knockoff.

I need to buy another higher quality bag.

Buy Samsonite Leather Expandable Briefcase Now

I bought this briefcase partly because of the Samsonite name and because of the positive reviews. I was looking for a good briefcase to last me a long time. I also considered McKleinUSA briefcases, but they seemed a bit expensive to me, and fairly heavy too.

Having used this Samsonite now for about two months, I am very disappointed with its durability. More specifically, the edges of the bag, which are part of the stiff 'frame' that helps it keep its shape, are already starting to wear. In fact, in one corner, a chunk has come out of the 'leather' and exposed some kind of white fabric mesh underneath! The 'leather' at that point is only maybe 1/16th of an inch thick. This is very bad design, as these edges and corners are what takes a beating when the bag is bumped into doors, walls and furniture.

If these edges were made of real leather I don't think chunks would come out of them they just would get scuffed or scratched. Scuffs and scratches can be hidden with polish and really just add to the patina of a fine natural product, whereas fabric mesh stands out and looks cheap no matter what color you make it.

As it is, I am disappointed with the quality of this bag and expect to have to buy a new one in just a few years, when this one is all scratched up. And by the way, I use this as a teacher at a university, so I just transport it in my car and walk with it between buildings. No airline travel, on-site sales work, or any other use which would really require the bag to be sturdy.

Had I known the bag was this cheap quality, I would have spent more to get a better one.

Briggs & Riley Brx Explore 22 Upright

Briggs & Riley Brx Explore 22 Upright,Amber,22x14x9 inchI conducted a lot of research before buying this bag. I needed something that would be the largest allowed to carry on a plane and also durable enough for the rugged places I have to travel to. This bag does the trick. It is by far, built better than any other carry on I've owned. It's very lightweight, yet sturdy and roomy. I love the pocket types and placements. There is no overkill, just what you need where you need it. The pictures do not show the upper lid pocket well, but what a great idea. It's constructed like a rectangular box, great for glasses or items you want relative protection around. The best part is that I use this to travel around war zones but can arrive at a 4 star hotel and still look classy. The 'no B.S.' warranty that Briggs and Riley has for their bags is a great relief as well.

I spent a lot of time reading reviews, speaking to friends and carefully evaluating sizes, brands and styles before picking this bag.

Size: I wanted a bag that fit in the overhead bin meeting std. US air carrier restrictions, and yet was as big as possible. This bag meets that requirement perfectly. I am able to fit my camera tripod (goes with me on most trips) and everything else I need for a 6 day trip. 5 STARS

Style: I had not initially thought of a bag that does not have stiff sides and a very rigid top. This was a concern at first, but I found the contents of the bag provides that structure that you expect from a bag like this. The advantage of the soft configuration is that you are more likely to fit this into a tight overhead bin as it bends/molds well. 5 STARS

Quality: The build quality is excellent. Wheels 5 STARS, handle 5 STARS, buckles, zips and fabric 5 STARS

Design: Almost perfect. The wide open main compartment with handle frame out side is excellent and I love the various outside compartments (slip magazines in the open one, laptop and manilla folders in the zip one and passport and liquids ziploc bag in the top one). The only negative I have with the bag is the main inside pouch. I am not sure what they were thinking (or not as the case may be) when they designed it. It has a single zip not double, so you cannot choose which way it opens and closes and it is the wrong way. Imagine you have your bag on the luggage rack at your hotel with lid open in a vertical position a very common occurrence. In this configuration, the zip opens at the bottom. Trying to put things in and close the zip before they fall out again is nigh on impossible. So Design gets a 4 STAR rating.

Pros: Outside pockets provide stress-free organization, lightweight and compact size for most carry-on bins, flat internal area for packing, sturdy and durable construction, Lifetime warranty.

Cons: Expansion zipper/system doesn't work well and grab handle on bottom is awkward. Might not fit into all overhead carry-on bins.

If you don't want to carry your backpack or duffel bag on a business trip but need something a little more rough and tumble than the standard rolling suitcas the Briggs & Riley BRX line is a well designed bag that will meet both needs at the same time. It is like a chameleon that changes for the need and keeps your luggage inside the carry on compartment without skimping on the features of more full size suitcases.

The BRX 22" bag has made numerous trips with me to various cities and occasions worldwide. I have used it mainly for 3-5 day trips but also used it a few times for a ten day business trip in San Francisco and a week-long business/personal trip to Hong Kong. I would recommend the bag mainly for shorter trips as it is only carry-on size but it does expand and it larger than some 18" carry-ons. If you pack lightly and do not plan to purchase a lot in route it works well beyond the 3-5 days I generally use it for.

The length of the handle and the quality of the wheels were stand outs in my early tests with this suitcase compared to past suitcases. The handle was plenty long enough to not have the annoying leg bang that occurs with short handles and the wheels are a sturdy, dense rubber that always seems to roll well.

The expansion and bottom handle take some getting used to and are my biggest cons with this particular suitcase. The bottom handle can be hard to find when you are gripping the bag and at times feels flimsy because it is built into the outer fabric not a separate handle. Also, the expansion is a partial zip (not all the way around the top) and this makes the expansion feature smaller and less optimal than it should be. The size though as mentioned is adequate for a typical long weekend and up to a five day trip.

The bag is extremely durable and despite all the trips (including numerous times checked) it does not show major wear and tear. It also has a good cinch down strap feature that keeps me feeling safe that the bag will not come open unnecessarily. The construction does look more casual than the standard black rolling suitcase. This is done to provide for the outside pockets and provide additional rugged construction for use of this bag beyond a simple business trip.

I have not yet had to use the famous Briggs & Riley warranty but colleagues of mine swear by the policy and have gotten prompt and remarkable service when requesting a repair or new suitcase due to damage.

I would recommend this bag for use as a go to bag for almost every occasion, unless of course you need to have a backpack or carry bag in some of the more remote places. It provides stylish, durable construction with numerous convenience added packing features.

I originally purchased a Briggs and Riley BRX 19" carryon (see my review) but found it was too small for my travel needs and was able to exchange it for this bag. I have been very pleased with the carryon--the craftsmanship is superb, it is light yet rugged and is a well thought out bag with enough compartments and pockets to be useful, yet not gimmicky. I especially like the almost invisible expandable feature of the bag, giving an additional inch or so to the depth of the bag. The top and side handles make carrying the bag when not using it as a roller it very comfortable.

I am very impressed with the way the bag rolls over all sorts of floor and street surfaces, and find that the exterior handle makes for a perfectly flat compartment; it's easier to pack and avoid wrinkling clothes. The large compartment has very easy to use dividers to help clothes from wrinkling and the smaller front compartment has handy pockets, a zippered sub-compartment, and a padded section for a laptop or tablet computer. It also has an exterior expandable slash pocket; my only very minor complaint is that there is no zipper or other way to secure this pocket, making it possible to have items fall out when placing in overhead compartments.

For longer trips, this bag and my BRX backpack are the prefect complements, making it possible to travel for a week or more without being burdened by luggage. I am sold on the Briggs and Riley BRX line of luggage--including their no-nonsense lifetime warranty--and find that their combination of light weight, appearance, and ruggedness make them ideal travel companions. The Briggs and Riley BRX line strikes a good balance between slightly adventurous looking, light and flexible luggage and the more traditional bags that countless travelers use.

I've had this carry on for just over a year now, I bought it to replace an aging travelpro. I read quite a few reviews on various carry-on bags and settled on this based on the positive reviews, slightly different looking design to make it easier to spot at an airport vs. all the hippopanonymous black rectangles, and I liked the idea of the exterior luggage handle resulting in a flatter floor.

So after a year of use (~50k miles in the last year, combination of shorter and longer trips, both business and personal etc) I'm moderately happy with this bag:

Pros:

1) Build quality is overall very good. The one exception is the finish on the handle portion of the carry handle is wearing off prematurely, but overall it's holding up well. Fabric holds up well, zippers are pretty solid etc.

2) Generally well designed. Lots of little features that make sense, placement of pockets etc. One example is the little slot inside for your liquids is very easy to access quickly at security lines then replace after. An interior pouch for dirty laundry is also nice. Pockets on the exterior are the right size etc. The compression straps (someone posted in the comment of another review that they are not compression straps ... well they may have other uses but they do compress the bag) cinche it down pretty tight when full, though I still had some problems fitting in overheads (more on that later).

3) Looks good and stands out from the pack while still looking reasonably sleek and professional. I want to be able to spot my bag on a luggage carousel (though I rarely check this), spot someone walking away with it etc. and the gray and slightly different shape help w/ this but at the same time doesn't look ridiculous.

Cons:

1) My biggest gripe is, it just isn't that space efficient in terms of interior space vs. the exterior dimensions of the bag. I think the exterior carry handle is probably the culprit here, along with the less "squared" shape of the bag. It just doesn't seem to fit as much clothing as my old travelpro, which would be ok but despite this I often have a harder time fitting the B&R into overhead bins depends on the plane, even on some larger planes like some 757s and 737s it either won't fit, or fits only with an inordinate amount of cramming (basically have to force it in so it compresses on itself as much as possible with the carry handle flexing a bit to initially get in). Regional jets it needs to be checked at the jetway but that's a given for just about any bag of this general type. Also when packing clothes, the flatter floor as a result of the exterior carry handle doesn't seem to yield any practical benefits yes it's flatter but my clothes don't come out any less wrinkled or anything as a result.

2) Premature wearing on the carry handle is bothersome, though again otherwise the build quality and materials quality are pretty good and it's holding up well with this one exception.

Overall, a good product with good materials and build quality. However, if I could do it again after owning this for a year, I'd probably get something else something more rectangular with an interior carry handle (the more generic business traveller carryons you see everywhere) that seem to have less problems fitting into overhead bins while holding as much or more than this.

Tumi Luggage T-tech Forge Lambert Satchel

Tumi Luggage T-tech Forge Lambert Satchel, Terrain, One SizeThis is my first Tumi bag and I really love it.

The zippers, lining, stitching, handles, etc. are all really quality. You can feel the quality of the bag when you hold it and I am certain this bag will last me years.

I sure do hope Tumi makes an insert for camera gear. This bag would make a stellar camera bag for the photo-journalists out there.

This bag is 100% 5-Stars.

I was in the market for a new overnighter bag as I travel often for business. This *ALMOST* was the perfect bag. It's just a "tiny" bit too small for my tastes. My pants and shirts have to be folded slightly smaller than I traditionally keep them, which is a first for business travel luggage for me. Not that big of a deal. Quality is up to Tumi standards and it looks/feels great. Only the one external pocket means limited segmented storage options, but again, not a fault of the luggage, just my habits of dealing with things. Strong recommendation on this one.

Ed Hardy Leo Butterfly Messenger Bag - Berry

Ed Hardy Leo Butterfly Messenger Bag - BerryAs of right now there is only one photo of the bag, so here's a little more description.

The right side of the bag has a small snap closure pocket. The left side has a small zip closure pocket with a small mesh pocket in front of it. None of the pockets are large enough to hold a medium-to-large sized smart phone.

The closure for the flap is a 10" length of very noisy velcro.

Inside there are two 6" x 9" open pockets (one in the front, one in the back), slots for pens, and a zipper pocket.

There is a long slash pocket on the back.

The shoulder strap, attached to the bag with swivel hooks, is padded and adjustable.

I love the color and the design and that it's made out of cotton. I was looking for something that could pass as a medium-sized everyday shoulder bag, but this is very large and definitely looks like something I'd take to school, not an office.

Great Bag someone always stopping me asking wear did I get it from. Ed Hardy is the best he has a wonderful line of items.

Lucky Bums Snow Sport 25L Hydration Backpack

Lucky Bums Snow Sport BackpackItem Purchased for 5'7", 135 lb. female for overseas trip. Worked great. Very light weight. Lots of pockets and compartments. Packed 3 pairs of jeans, dress slacks, 3 long sleeved shirts, 2 short sleeved shirts, jammies, 8 pairs of socks and undies and a pair of shoes. I still had room for a guide book, Pencil bag, makeup bag, toothbrush, hairbrush, mp3 player and charger, umbrella and field journal. Clipped camera bag and small binocular bag to fasteners. Also had a coat fastened to it! And it wasn't too heavy to carry all over Switzerland.

PROS: light weight, tons of space, great fabric and stitching, chest and waist strap, 2 deep side pockets for h2o bottles or small umbrella

CONS: never needed the build in whistle, but never could get it to work

I would purchase again and have bragged about it to family and friends. Buying another as a gift!

Love the quality for the price, nice fit for my 8-11 yr olds. I like the comfort, size and straps. My son loves it he just turned 8.

KF Baby Diaper Bag Insert Organizer - 9.6 x 5.6 x 7.2 inch, Olive

KF Baby Diaper Bag Insert Organizer - 9.6 x 5.6 x 7.2 inch, OliveThe product is fine but just know that this is not even close to the color you get. The actual color is kind of a brownish-green, like a dark khaki.

I ordered this diaper bag insert to put inside the blue Kelty Tote Diaper Bag I bought previously. It fits perfectly and I am still able to utilize the pockets and water bottle holder inside the tote. Keeps contents well organized and makes them easy to find. The color is a mustard yellow. The sale price is high for what it is, but it's worth it.
