Official US Military Surplus Molle II Main Pack Backpack Rucksack Woodland

Official US Military Surplus Molle II Main Pack Backpack Rucksack WoodlandI recently had the entire Molle 2 pack and went camping with it for the first time, hiked up 1,500 feet and back and am here to tell you that i have had WW2 surplus packs that are more comfortable than the Molle 2 pack, it was only used for a short time and the plastic frame cracks very easily. I served in the Army and used Alice packs that were more suitable than the Molle 2. I also used to have the first Molle rucksack and it was much better off than the Molle 2. I would suggest not buying this pack and getting either a Alice pack or the first Molle rucksack, even a civilian padded pack is more comfortable. Dont let the looks fool you, brutal pack that has zero balance with any load and is only comfortable with less than 5 lbs of cargo. Hope this helps someone since i just went through this transition.

I thought this pack was comfortable. The shoulder straps are better than the ALICE packs. It has plenty of room with other additional items made for it that are great. However, the frame has much to be desired. For a heavy load this is not a good pack. There is a plastic frame that supports the pack. We used these in the invasion of Iraq. By the time we got back aboard ship, over half of the packs were cracked or in several pieces. We had to put in for an emergency resupply of gear to replace the broken ones. This will be a good for an easy weekend hike. But for heavy use long term, go with the newer military packs or even the older ALICE packs.

My son was looking for a camo pack that he could use when he played "army" and this was an absolutely perfect purchase that didn't set me back a fortune! The seller was very reasonable with prices, the item was in perfect condition, and I was extremely impressed with how quickly it shipped!

David King & Co. Distressed Leather Full Flap Laptop Messenger - L

David King & Co. Distressed Leather Full Flap Laptop Messenger - L (DistressedI got this as a gift so I can't return it. But this bag is made from awful thin leather that smells strange. Spend a little more and get something decent.

It is a very nice bag. Make sure you read the description because it is gray and not brown like the picture. The leather is sturdy and is a rough finish which gives it a different look than most bags. For the price it is a good deal as even in nicer stores they charge like $100 for a bag out of synthetic materials.

Bag is exactly as described. I could not be happier with it (it is my daily brief case). Not too heavy or bulky.

This bag is great. It looks great and handles abuse rather well. However, after having used it for over a year, it could have used better stitching on the inside. The front barrier material, between the front top load pocket and the very front zipper pocket, could have been a bit heavier duty. The material is so thin that it pulls through the stitching and leaves the sides open for pieces to move from the front to the middle compartment. I still gave it a five star because I'm very hard on it and, if you give it a normal life, it will work well for years.

Very nice bag, looks very very nice. For me the leather is ok.

Only complain is to grab the bag without hand strap if the bag is heavy. There is just shoulder strap.

As I said, looks awesome!

Airbac Groovy School backpack

Airbac Groovy School backpackI love my groovy new Airbak backpack! It is so comfortable and colorful and has plenty of room for what I need. Thank you so much!

I purchased this item from an Amazon Marketplace seller. Although the item description says it is a "Laptop Backpack", the inner pocket for the laptop is so small that only an iPad would fit. There is no padding at the bottom of the laptop pocket, as is commonly found in true laptop backpacks, nor is there a strap to keep the laptop from falling out of the pocket. This is NOT a laptop backpack.

Interestingly, the manufacturer does not mention the word "laptop" anywhere in the product description or specifications. Why are multiple Amazon Marketplace sellers misrepresenting this item?

This backpack is missing standard features like a pocket for an iPod or MP3 player with a hole for the earbuds. The fabric appears much less durable than what I have seen in Lands' End and L.L. Bean backpacks.

My daughter wanted this backpack for back to school this year. She first saw it in a sporting goods store in our town. The store's price was quite high for a backpack in my opinion, even with all the nice features this one has. Instead of buying it right away, we came home to check out Amazon and there it was for less than half the price!

The backpack has really bright, almost neon tie-dye colors in yellow, hot pink, blue and green. It has tons of pockets inside and out. There is somewhere safe to put just about anything you can think of. It has been a really good school backpack for her so far this school year. She can fit her fat 2-1/2" binder in it, plus other stuff. There is the main large zip-up space, a smaller zip-up pocket and a velcro-closing pocket. Inside there are pencil pockets, paper-sized pockets and a small velcro-closing pocket. There are two mesh pockets outside, one on each side.

This backpack takes a beating because she has filled it up with heavy items. Even though she has so many heavy things in it, she has to take it everywhere. So, when she gets where she's going she throws it down on the floor because she's tired of lugging it around, so I know she gives it lots of abuse.

This backpack has much more padding than most backpacks so it is a good one for people who carry heavy loads. The two main straps are very well padded with thick foam (I guess it's foam) for comfort. The back has lots of padding too, and a hidden pocket that holds a big air pillow for extra padding. This pocket is fairly large and has a zipper, so if you wanted to remove the air pillow you could, and you'd have another large zipper pocket.

The only negative is that the overhanging edges where the main zipper and the fabric are connected often get stuck in the zipper. I hope that makes sense; I'm not sure what the terminology is for that little strip of fabric that kind of covers the zipper when it's zipped up. I guess they made that strip a little too wide. If it was a little narrower it wouldn't get caught.

Overall we are pleased with this backpack. It is really bright and cute and very well made.

OGIO Convoy Bag

Ogio Convoy BackpackI needed a backpack for weekend and vacation travel that could also carry my laptop. I was concerned that the capacity was only 1450 cubic inches, but I liked the design enough to give it a try. I love all the pockets, and my laptop is safe and secure. Most of my gadgets and chargers fit in easily, but as expected not much more. A set a sleepwear and a light change of clothes is about all I can get into it. However that's all I needed and I still love the design, so I'm satisfied, and if needed I'll use a suitcase or another backpack for clothes.

I bought the OGIO Convoy to replace a computer backpack stolen on a trip. The OGIO is a perfect size for travel with pockets for paperwork and tickets, phone, gps, music, and room for a light change of clothes and a shaving kit...and small water bottles on the side. I have a 16 inch XPS-15 laptop that fits easily in the computer sleve.

I picked one of these up for around $25 on sale, it fits my laptop perfectly, and has enough pockets and space to hold everything I take with me. My only issue with this bag is the shoulder straps seem a bit small to me, It doesn't fit loose enough to be comfortable when I am walking around the city.

I use this bag when commuting on my motorcycle, and it is very good for it with the cross strap connecting the two shoulder straps. It helps it stay snug on me and not move around when cornering.

Over all I would recommend this to anyone who needs a cheap laptop backpack, or taking a laptop on a motorcycle.

I've had this bag for less than a month. Less than 1 week after purchase the bag began to tear. I filed for a replacement and am still waiting for it to arrive. Since then the zipper for the largest opening has broken. This thing is the flimsiest, cheapest made backpack I've ever had and the price is ridiculous!

This backpack is great if you have a light load. I bought it for my brother who is in 8th grade and if you have to fit more then 2 books the zipper will break from the weight. I do not suggest this for kids in school. Maybe only for someone carrying a laptop and a notepad.

Pacsafe Luggage Sling Safe 200 GII Shoulder Bag

Pacsafe Luggage Slingsafe 200 GII Shoulder Bag, Berry, MeduimI've watched this bag for some time, waiting patiently for orange. I think I was the first to get this color when it came available, because I was backordered for a week or so. My only trepidation, with all of the safety features, I feared it would be way too heavy to travel with, light traveler that I am. Was I wrong! The weight is perfect. The safety features are perfect, big enough to carry everything I need for a day's wandering the streets of Athens or Rome or little Sicilian villages--Kindle, guide books and maps, just-in-case rainponcho, water bottle. RFID blocking keeps passport and credit cards safe. Locking zipper and slashproof sides and adjustable strap, just enough pockets to find stuff in. An outside water bottle pocket would be the only improvement on perfection I can see. And the orange is the purse-nappers-wouldn't-dare orange that goes with everything else I travel with.

It worked fine and I don't think I could find anything closer for what I needed. I wanted it for my ipad (which was a tight fit even with a close fitting cover on the ipad) wallet, lipstick etc. My husband carried the camera in his pacsafe bag.

The crossbody /fabric/all worked great. I loved the security of the strap that could be attached to chairs etc. It was the best I could find but not exactly the size I needed. Close enough. Definitely a travel purse though-not enough style for around town.

ChicoBag Lightweight Urban Messenger Bag with Waist Strap

ChicoBag Lightweight Urban Messenger Bag with Waist Strap - GreenI really like this bag! I have had it for about a month now, and I am using it as a work bag. I love the bottle pockets on each side, and all of my different sizes of reusable water bottles have fit nicely. This bag is very light weight, but I feel like it is constructed very nicely and I don't worry about overloading it with heavy items. My only reservation to anyone looking at this bag is to let you know that it is a little on the small side for a messenger bag. If you are looking for a large bag to use for school or to carry a lot of bulky items in, this would not be it (there is no way to fit a computer AND other items in it). However, I typically can fit my slim lunch box, a book, a few folders, and then any small items I need throughout the day in the bag and carry it with ease. Also, the opening of the bag is rather narrow, which can make it a little difficult to just "throw" your items in and go, but once you get them in, there seems to be enough room for me and for the person who doesn't need to carry a lot of things. I also like the front zip pocket which makes it convenient for small papers and items you do not want to throw in the large compartment. The size limitations is the ONLY reason I gave this bag 4 stars instead of 5.

Update: I forgot another reason to deduct this rating the shipper sent this item via FED-EX! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, retailers if you are in the mail-order business and interested in keeping your customers happy STOP USING FED-EX! What is the point of using and paying for 2-day shipping when it NEVER arrives on-time. In addition, FED-EX, I feel, has no interest in working with the recipients, and actually has policies in place to make this more difficult (i.e. not being able to hold a package at FED-EX location before delivery attempts are FAILED, which you know they will be because the drivers never attempt to deliver when people are actually home). STOP, please, just STOP using FED-EX!

i bought this bag to go on the gruz to cozumel and to the mayan ruins. it was great! i packed 2 bottles of water and 2 pairs of sun glasses and my camera and extra batteries and extra stuff and the strap was long enough to put across my chest and left my hands free to do whatever. then went swimming in the sinkhole and packed my suit back. it dried really quickly. loved the bag

First of all, I'm not UNHAPPY with this bag... It's nifty. It's super lightweight with plenty of storage compartments. I love the two water bottle feature, which is primarily why I bought it. I love that it's made from recycled bottles. I love the color. Love the magnet closure. Why only 3.5 stars? Well, for what it is and despite what I love about it...the price is a bit over what I would have paid for it if I had seen it in person. Although the bag boasts "designed in california", nowhere can a country of origin be found. I had to look up on the Chicobag website to discover that it is made in China. They rattle on a bit about being members of the FLA, but truthfully that probably means that they just make sure the factory workers get a break once a day and get paid 25cents an hour rather than 10. I MAY have been able to justify the pricetag on this if it were made in the USA...but a very thin, extraordinarly wrinkly and somewhat difficult to unwrinkle, parachute material bag that, from the looks of it, costs very little to produce? Meh. I do appreciate the one year warranty on this, and maybe that's where the higher price point comes in...as a sort of insurance to offset returns. It may also be that this is a niche market sort of thing...cyclists etc..but as I will be using it just as a vacation bag/carryall perhaps I should have looked around a bit more. Overall, I think there's a lot to love about the design of this bag, but cost to value I'm not so sure about.

Also, as a side note, please refer to main picture and the purple bag in the thumbnails to the left for and idea about sizing. I'm not sure that the green and blue bags they picture to the left are the same model. This bag is definitely not a full sized messenger bag as shown in the pictures on the left. You will not be able to get a full sized laptop or full sized textbooks in this.

Want ChicoBag Lightweight Urban Messenger Bag with Waist Strap Discount?

I really liked the style of the bag. Lightweight, adjustable length strap, big enough for a clipboard and iPad. Loved that it is made from recycled bottles. Very disappointed the the zipper broke right away. Nylon zipper not strong enough for bag. Now it is a pocket that does not close. Still like bag, I just wish the zipper was better. Great idea but not sure it is worth the price.

Ogio Newt II Mono Laptop/Tablet Backpack

Ogio Newt II Mono Laptop/Tablet BackpackSling bags are somewhat of an anomaly currently for the techies out there looking to get the best portability combined with strict space requirements to fit their gadgets. I've been hunting for the right sling bag for four years now, having gone through four separate bags and after receiving this Ogio I have to say I might finally be satisfied.

First, I'm a college student. So the best bag for me may not be the best for you. But I need to be able to carry my 15.6" laptop on some days and others I would rather simply take my tablet. This Ogio bag has enough room for me to take both, while I admit with my extended battery and large laptop it is a tight fit, causing the zipper to bulge ever so slightly (we'll see how it holds up long term) I am overall amazed they accommodated my laptop, even if inadvertently.

4/5 due to not having the foresight to slightly extend the bag and make a 15.6" fit comfortably.

Second, I need a bag which can easily be taken on and off frequently, sometimes in the smallest of spaces such as the subway. It can easily pivot on my body and let me open up the front compartments for a pencil, my charger, calculator, etc. It also comes on and off easily with one arm. The back is padded well for comfort and the strap can be adjusted to fit your size easily.

5/5 for portability and comfort.

Finally, I needed something which would not only allow me to store my computer and a single notebook, but more than that. Amazingly, I can fit my laptop, tablet, one textbook (hardcover, 800 pages) and a thin notebook in the two main compartments without hassle. Then I get a third compartment in the front, which is practically unheard of in quality sling bags, that can fit my pens, calculator, chargers and smaller assorted items.

5/5 for storage

Overall I really like this bag so far, moreso than the Belkin sling which I acquired on Amazon or the two other slings I've tried from other stores.

A few notes, it has a key ring, a zippered pouch in the front compartment and a couple small pockets there. It also has a small zippered pocket near the waist that has a headphone port in it, this pocket is lined with what feels like a microfiber material, the same material found in both the laptop and tablet pouches. The back padding is a cheap foam, but relatively thick at probably a quarter inch and the bag material is a weatherproof nylon.

I chose this bag over a powerbag sling bag, specifically due to the lack of space in that bag. Hopefully one day a manufacturer will find that right blend in a sling bag that I've been searching for, until then this Ogio has got me covered..

Oh, and kudos to the supplier AV House for a quick two day delivery for free.

This is a good looking bag to carry your gadgets and paperwork around in. It's a little smaller than I had hoped so there won't be space for much else if you're carrying both a laptop, tablet, chargers and I guess a book or a notebook but that should make it kind of perfect if you're using it for classes. It does have lots of smaller pockets to hold whatever little stuff you might need to store and the pocket which seems perfectly made for a cell phone is a great addition. The strap that adjusts the should strap is kind of ridiculously long; I rolled mine up and secured it with a velcro cable tie. This bag has a really slim profile and great back padding. I just wish it had a little more internal space so it would make a better weekend bag. But it's perfect for school or going to the library or if you have work to do in a coffee shop or something and is probably nice enough looking that you could get away with taking it in to most offices.

Love this bag at the airport! Keeps my phone and wallet tucked undermy arm. Allows me to keep iPad and laptop safely next to by back, not the furthest pocket out. Style and size and weight are the best.

I was previously using an InCase Compact Backpack. I bought this to go to a Sling design and I really thought the pocket on the side would be handy for cell phone and passport retrieval without removing the backpack.

The good: The build on this bag is excellent and very high quality. The styling is nice and the bag looks very professional. The weight distribution is also very good.

The bad: It simply is too small and cramped. I thought my InCase bag was on the smallish side but the pockets on this bag are far from generous and poorly designed. The most sizable pocket, for the laptop and tablet, is very adequate and leaves some room to spare with a 15" laptop but the way it is designed, you cannot put anything in there except your laptop and tablet. The storage pocket was barely able to accomdate the cable and capacitor from my HP laptop, and cables for my phone and tablet plus some minor odds and ends such as international plug adapter, laser pointer, etc. When loaded it bulged significantly which comes to the next problem. The admin pouch is virtually unusable. When the storage pocket is loaded, it puts too much bulging into this area to use it effectively and the zipper design does not allow you to fully access the pocket. It barely zips down on one side which means you will have to fish around with your hand in a very tight pocket to find anything. Even the little side pocket I was so excited about can barely fit a passport and cannot fit both a passport and your cell phone without being too tight to zip.

Conclusion: It might be a good bag if all you were going to carry is a tablet and no laptop. It is very marginal for carrying a laptop and if used for that purpose is useless to carry much of anything else. For Road Warriors or Students that require a bit more space than this bag can provide, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

I've been big on sling bags ever since I got an injury to my neck, herniating some cervical discs. It was tough to wear backpacks since the strap would pull down on the part of my neck that hurt a lot, so I ended up getting a single-strap sling backpack that went over my left shoulder. As a righty, I've actually found this configuration to be a lot easier than most other sling bags but much, MUCH harder to find.

When my beloved High Sierra Crush was showing its age and smelling funny beyond Febreze's help, I started looking around and ordered the Newt II Mono from Amazon. I pre-ordered and was quite surprised to get word that it arrived about a month ahead of time back when it was new.

This bag is a wonder of a commuter bag. It's got enough space for the essentials: a 13" ultrabook laptop (but it's held my 15" Dell laptop just fine), power adapter, tablet (any size fits perfect in the faux-fur-lined tablet pouch in the main compartment), and any extra bulky flat cargo in the main part. In the secondary part, you can fit a collapsible umbrella (although I wish there was under-bag straps for it, I can live with it), some multitools and other things, and bulkier cargo. The farthest front pocket fits keys, a checkbook, cables, wireless aircards, and other stuff. There's even a little zipper pouch at the base of the strap I use it for a small digital camera, transit passes, and even bottles of water.

The bag comes off and goes on in zero space, which is great for crowded trains or subways: sit down, unbuckle the clasp, and pull it around. Just loop, swoop, buckle and go for the reverse. Best of all, it's very comfortable to wear even when it gets hot out the padded back has enough room to circulate air well. The grab handle is extremely sturdy as is the main strap.

I really wish there was more external storage for water bottles or umbrellas, and the compression straps were a feature I do miss but I get around without just fine. It's not too heavy on its own, sturdy, easy to clean, and comfortable.

I wish they made more bags like this so I could do a better comparison, but it's so hard to find sling backpacks that are worn on either shoulder these days it's a dying product. The Newt II Mono is among the best in class and is worth the money.

humangear GoToob 3 oz - 3 Pack (Clear/Orange/Red)

Once you know how to close it you will not have a leak.

Toshiba PA1452U-1BS6 16-Inch Extreme BackpackI travel a lot and was looking for something that I could use to replace my carry-on suitcase and laptop bag for the short trips where I only needed one or two changes of clothes. This past week I got to put it to the test on a whirl-wind trip to the west coast. I loaded up my laptop and clean clothes. The bag easily accommodated everything without feeling over stuffed. Clark & Mayfield Marquam 18.4" Rolling Laptop Tote

Clark & Mayfield Marquam 18.4' Rolling Laptop ToteWhen I'm getting on a plane, I am usually loaded down with a heavy 17" laptop plus a ton of other stuff... Airline restrictions call for one bigger bag (like a rolling bag) and 'a personal item'... This is the greatest 'personal item' as I can roll this one until I get to the gate and then it transforms into just a tote. This way, I can roll two bags through the terminals... and saving my back! Great compartments inside help organize me too!

I ordered this after an annoying day of lugging my 17" laptop around three airports in a conventional laptop case with a shoulder strap. I have used it for travel and local meetings and found it to be easy to access, even in TSA lines, and easy to roll, even on a college campus. It's nice looking enough for business meetings and sturdy enough for travel.

I have to bring binders and toys, and a backpack was aggravating my back pain. I wanted something sleek, lightweight, professional, and classy. This bag is amazing. At first I thought it might be problematic the way the main compartment opens up, thinking it might be awkward to put in a laptop. Not at all! Plenty of space. Even though my laptop is smaller than 16" screen, the strap helps to keep it snug and secure.

I really like the compartments for SD cards, USB drives, and accessory pockets. Everything is kept clean and organized. I even have extra space (compared to my previous backpack from Dell) without having a larger backpack.

As for quality, only time will tell, but it looks and feels durable.

15.4 inch K-Cliffs Organizer Laptop Computer Backpack Schoolbag w/Headphone port /Air Mesh Padded P

15.4 inch K-Cliffs Organizer Laptop Computer Backpack Schoolbag w/Headphone port /Air Mesh Padded PanelI just got this backpack last week so if anything changes I'll come back and update.

So far I love this thing, it's roomy and yet has some pockets for organization and has LOTS of cushion! It seems to be made pretty well. I can't find anywhere the stitching or quality is lacking. The pictures aren't that clear about it, but there is a little pocket for an mp3 player at the top inside the main pocket of the bag and the headphone port is almost right underneath the top handle.

The only negative thing I can say is that for me the straps are either placed a little too close together, or they are a bit too wide for my shoulders and they press against my neck...

All in all, great bag at a great price, and the straps would probably be fine for a broader shouldered person.

Awesome backpack. I definitely recommend it. Has a lot of space and is very sturdy and strong. I even go to grocery stores with this backpack

Stephen Joseph Girls 2-6x Quilted Backpack Girl Monkey

Stephen Joseph Girls 2-6x Quilted Backpack Girl Monkey,Hot Pink/Cloud Blue,One SizeI bought this for my daughters first day of school. It is very well made and is just the right size for a kindergartener. I took it and had her name stitched into it so now it's perfect!

I was looking for a small bag for my 14 month old daughter that I could leave with her when I dropped her off at church childcare or whenever she was in someone else's care. This bag is SUPER cute and the colors are very vibrant. It seems to have plenty of room inside for what I wanted it for (a couple diapers, wipes, change of clothes, food/drink, etc.). The reviews I read of other designs before I bought this one did mention the poor quality of the bags but I took my chances anyway. Unfortunately, this particular one I received had a small area on the top stitching where the filling underneath was showing and the thread was frayed and unraveling. I'm returning it and taking my chances on the replacement because I really do want this bag to work! Hoping the next one is in good shape so I can get her name embroidered on it. I'll update my review when I get the new bag.

I like the products because the material is quilted and seems pretty durable. It was a gift so I will not know much more about the quality of it, but it seemed like a great little bag when we received it.

This was a gift for my granddaughter. It was a little bit bigger than I expected but she will grow into it. Seems to be good quality.

Gift for my twin toddlers. They LOVE wearing their backpacks.

The outside is cotton quilted material but the inside does have some type of plastic (almost like a water resistant) coating and it's not cotton. Not a big deal for me but if you're looking for 100% cotton, this is not it.

I also find that the strings to close the backpack are too long. If I cut them and tie it I'm afraid it might fray. The quality is good but I can already see some of the thread coming apart so the quality really could be better. These could be used for preschool for simple items like clothes, diapers, change of shoes but I would not use this for a Kindergarten backpack. Great for kids who just like to wear backpacks out and about or for short trips.

Cuteness factor is over the top and my girls love them.

Wilson Premium Players Pack

Wilson Volleyball Premium Players Backpack - Black/Silver One Sizevery spacious and light! I can carry my beach towel, extra change of clothes, sunscreen, etc and carry my vball! Only slight downfall if they could have added a smaller compartment for keys and cell phones for easier finding but that's okay I just use a smaller bag to place in one of the side pockets.

This bag works great. Sometimes its a little snug to get the volleyball in its place, but is nice pocket to keep it separate from everything else. Nice side bags for bug spray, sunblock, air pump. main compartment good for extra clothes or towels when going to tourny's or league games.

Con Needs one more smaller pocket for keys/personal items.

Case Logic ZLCS-117 Check Point Friendly 17-Inch Laptop Case (Black)

Case Logic ZLCS-117 Check Point Friendly 17-Inch Laptop CaseWhen I first got it I was really looking forward to the check point friendly feature. I travel a lot and bought this bag specifically for this function. While passing through a checkpoint in JFK International Airport just yesterday (16th March), I was refused when I left my laptop in the bag split open as instructed. When it went under the scanner I was instructed to do it over, and this time take it out the bag. I tried to explain how the bags works but it was futile. This also happened in two other airports in two different countries recently.

Another thing i noticed (which was kind of annoying) is that the same zip that splits the bag in half keeps opening up a little when its on one shoulder. I think it should have some kind of hook or something in the new design (if it's going to have one obviously)

On a lighter note it looks professional and neat without all those straps hanging everywhere like other brands. It feels durable when you hold it but it didn't get a long usage test yet.

Hope this helps.....

Oh yes... I like this! But let's first put it into perspective, this isn't a magician's case. You're not going to get more than a day's worth of wearing apparel (and it had better be business casual apparel as well) inside along with your laptop and other techie stuff. But for a single overnight trip, this is by far the best marriage of utilitarian design with style that I've seen. The size of this even makes it a suitable option for those flights where fate (or traffic) has put you in the very last boarding group and "under the seat" is the only option for a carryon.

I won't get into the discussion with regards to the accuracy of TSA-friendly etc., as it's always been my experience that the TSA folks can be just as picky as they want. But it is convenient enough to pull the computer out and place it back in after passing the x-ray.

Actually, I can see a lot of people just using this as something of a mega-briefcase. You know the ones; the sales people with loads of brochures, the lawyers with tons of papers and the office jocks that have to tote along their softball or gym clothes.

Only time will tell as to the durability of the Caselogic 17 incher, but my inspection can't find any noticeable flaws or cut corners. I suspect this will last me for some time to come.

I had purchased this for Dennis, so I had him help me do the review. Here is a Video Review explaing every detail of this item. I hope it helps.

From what I seen, personally.. The item felt very sturdy, strong, and it was a nice size. It had a lovely laptop case that fit perfectly inside, also had tons of zippers in the front. He explains a lot in the video. He used the item a couple times. One time he flew with the item, when he went to Texas. The airport did ask him to take the laptop out of the slot, but he didn't have to open the bag that the laptop was in. You understand? (he explained this to me since I question him about these things, so I can review them)

I work at a university and need to transport various papers and sometimes bulky textbooks. I wanted a backpack to replace what I used to carry: a Land's End briefcase and a separate laptop bag. In buying a backpack, my criteria were:

1) My 13-inch MacBook must fit. It does, no problem. It can hold a substantially larger laptop, but I'm not sure how large. There's a lot of space around my laptop though. The padding is substantial and seems to be adequate.

2) I wanted the backpack to look neat without a lot of straps and stuff hanging loose and no open external pouches. I wanted it to be as streamlined as possible. This one is. About the only thing hanging loose are the zipper pulls, but they're really quite inconspicuous. I like the velcro thingies that keep the excess shoulder strap wrapped up and out of the way. I think I would rather carry a briefcase in a more formal business situation, but this could work in a more casual business setting.

3) I wanted a backpack that could carry all my stuff. It has a fair amount of carrying space for stuff besides the laptop. A lot of pockets in a few compartments. In the main compartment, I carry some folders, maybe a textbook or two, some small stuff and my lunch. One thing that I would have liked different would be one or two more small interior pockets at different heights. As it is, the small stuff tends to all drop to the bottom of the backpack. If the small stuff were spread out more, the backpack could be a little flatter and stuff would be more accessible. That's just a minor preference though and not a major complaint. This backpack can't carry ALL of the stuff that I used to carry in my briefcase and laptop bag, mostly because my lunch would take a beating, but I probably hauled around too much stuff before anyway. This backpack has a lot of space in it though and it really is well-designed.

4) I wanted it to be well made. Overall, the backpack is well constructed. The zippers are sturdy and stay closed. I don't see any apparent weak spots in the construction. The shoulder straps are nicely padded and comfortable. The material seems to be very strong. The single carrying handle on top is adequately padded and appears to be sturdily attached.

I have not flown with this yet so I have not tried out the butterfly feature that supposedly lets you run it through security without taking out your laptop, but the mechanism is nicely designed and quick to use and it would be extremely convenient if the security people let you do it. It would be easy enough to remove the laptop if necessary, so it's not a big deal. A couple of the smaller compartments are very easy to access and would be nice for grabbing boarding passes quickly when whipping through the airport. The flap that lets you slip the backpack over the pull handle of a carry-on bag is nice too. This backpack would be great to travel with. I would use a regular carry-on bag for clothes and all to be stuffed in the overhead bin, and this backpack would be the bag I keep with me and stow under the seat.

When I was shopping for this backpack, the only reviews I found appeared to be for a very different bag, so many of the comments do not apply to this backpack. I am not sure, but I suspect that this is the next generation of the CLBS-116. Some of the comments about that backpack do not apply to this one. For example, I have never had the side zippers for the butterfly feature creep open inadvertently. Someone complained that the CLBS-116 has no opening for headphones to fit through. The ZLBS-116 has no dedicated headphone opening either, which is fine with me. I'm sure I could run the wire through one of the zippered openings if I really wanted to.

Overall, I'm very happy with this backpack. I would buy it again and I recommend it.

UPDATE: I flew from Minneapolis to Orlando and back in early January, 2012. At both airports, I was able to use the butterfly feature and leave my laptop in the backpack when I put it in the scanner. That was nice. Unfortunately, I was so distracted by whether they would gripe about the laptop that I forgot to take out my liquids, so they pulled me aside and searched my suitcase. But not my backpack, so that worked. The backpack is still holding up very nicely. No wear or tear, other than some minor loose fuzzies on the outer edges where it sometimes rubs against things. But that is a cosmetic issue that can be easily remedied and it doesn't affect the structure or function of the backpack. I would still buy this backpack again and I still recommend it.

The true test of this roller was taking it to India, loaded with my laptop, documents, clothes, and shaving set. It took a beating, and it never failed. With the numerous escalators, steps, customs, security checks, rough environmental conditions at my destination, etc., it came back looking good as new and held everything together in a compact manner after such a rough round-trip. The handle stayed sturdy even after being expanded/collapsed many times. I was surprised with the roller's capacity, and loved the laptop sleeve WHICH I NEVER REMOVED when my laptop went through security checks in the USA, Europe, and India. It was a great investment.

Kelty Minnow 750 Backpack

Kelty Minnow 750 BackpackThe product itself is cute, compact, great for camp or preschool (not big enough for school books) The only reason I give it 4 stars is that the picture is not a good representation of the color. Here it looks salmon and it is actually bright red.

I got this backpack for my 4 year old when she started preschool mainly to avoid the character covered, cheap backpacks you usually find. It is the perfect size and made it through an entire year of preschool with barely any wear. The zippers and fabric are very durable and it's the perfect size to fit folders, papers, and a lunch bag. We will use this backpack until it's too small for her, since I can tell it won't wear out any time soon. I'll be ordering another one for my three year old soon. We are also planning on introducing the kids to backpacking, and this little pack will be the perfect size for the kids to hold their own clothes and toys without being so big it will drag them down. It is a great price for the quality and I can't recommend it enough!

I bought this backpack for my 3 year old for preschool. He has to have a full change of clothes in his backpack at all times, and in winter, his snow bibs also have to fit. This backpack is large enough for all the clothing he needs, but still small enough for him to carry easily by himself. We walk about 3.5 blocks to school, and he carries it just fine. Without the snow bibs, there is still plenty of room for whatever papers need to come home.

I am pleasantly surprised with the durability, and won't need to purchase another backpack next year, or hopefully the year after that. I will be buying another of this brand when it is time for my younger child to go to preschool, and a bigger version when my oldest moves up to elementary school.

An added bonus is that no one else in his school has a backpack like it since it is not carried at any major retailers around here. There is less confusion and he can find his backpack quickly.

Perfect for kindergarten and perhaps up to 2nd grade. It holds a classic 3 ring folder, lunch bag, and a few reading books, but nothing more. However this is all our kindergartener has needed. It is smaller then the "classic" book bags that most elementary school kids use, but it fits the this little kindergartener kid perfectly. Good quality and durability.

Vera Bradley Double Zip Backpack

Vera Bradley Double Zip BackpackI bought this bag for college and thought that it would be bigger but when I got it in the mail it was pretty small... im in love with the pattern that's why I gave it three stars. I would recommend this to someone in middle school or for kindergartners. Lol.

This backpack is ideal for outdoors for me. I mainly use it when I have to bring my SLR camera with me, since it's spacious and it's zipped top makes it easy to open and grab whatever you need inside.

My daughter is 2 1/2. When I'm taking a day trip with her, I always have to carry an extra set of clothes, some snacks and something to keep her entertained, in addition to what I need to carry for myself. This backpack is the perfect solution for this. It fits everything I need, plus allows me to keep the use of both hands (which is HUGE when I'm chasing after her).

The Camellia pattern is subtle, so it blends with just about everything and doesn't scream 'little kid'. The straps are padded and adjustable so it's one of the most comfortable backpacks I've ever worn. And it's got lots of extra compartments for storing little odds and ends that you may need to reach quickly. I really can't speak highly enough of this bag! I love it.

I use this as a purse and love it. I am small-5"3"and it is not too big. Roomy with compartments inside, including two on outsides for water bottles, etc. The lower front zip compartment is excellent with dividers, pen holder, place for cell phone, etc. Love the silky lining though wish it were not black but a lighter color so easier to find things. Large back zip compartment is handy for large flat items. Zippers easy to use and seem durable. Very comfortable to wear. I have had it a couple of months and am very satisfied.
