I love the colors and the way this backpack fits. And for the price i think it is worth it. The reason i give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because i thought that the outside smaller portion had smaller organizer pockets inside it and it doesnt. I'm using this mostly for school so a place for my calculator and pencils would be nice but now there all just jumbled together at the bottom of the pocket. oh well though. I havent tried the skateboard straps yet but i will soon, so hopefully they work good.

Herschel Supply Co. Little America Canvas

My backpack came in the mail a few days early, and I'm so happy about it! This bag is a true khaki color, which the picture doesn't give justice too.

I haven't been out in the rain with it yet, but the material looks moderately weather resistant. It feels pretty sturdy, and fits comfortably when I wear it.

Like mentioned in other reviews, the straps bind with magnets which I actually adore! There is also a little hidden zipper for the external pocket.

To feel reassured, know that the magnets are sturdy. Don't get the impression this backpack has poor enclosure.

I've had a bag with functioning straps and it was a pain getting things in and out over and over again, so I appreciate an alternative way to pack up.

If you're not convinced with the magnets, there is a drawstring hidden away at the mouth so nothing sneaks out-despite the backpack having so much space inside.

The Little America is a very roomy bag, and proves to be an exceptional choice for collage students who are hauling books around and their other supplies and necessities.

The laptop pouch is a great addition too. I will say however, it is not a true fit for a 17 inch computer. I use a 15 in MacBook Pro, and it's the perfect size for this bag.

All in all, the Little America Backpack by Herschel Supply is an excellent buy. It's a beautiful bag that performs as well as it looks.

Since I've bought it, I've noticed more and more people around the city sporting them around too. Both men and women seem to be enjoying it as much as myself.

It's a gorgeous backpack, and I'm stoked to get more use out it!

The backpack is quite nice and great in quality. My only remarks would be towards its organization and bulkiness. The straps are magnetic and many times have to be put in a certain fashion to stay. Also, theres really only three places to put your stuff. The lining for the laptop is soft, however even if it says it can fit up to 17 inches, it was a small squeeze for my 16.5

After a lot of research and looking around, I went for the Little America backpack. I took it to Greece for 2 weeks and used it on the ferries and planes as my carry on, and then for beach days, packed it with sunscreen and towels. It looks cute on (although a bit big, I'm 5'8 and could handle it, but someone shorter might look taken over by it). Overall I loved it.

Be careful of the materials that the sellers send you! Don't end up paying more than it's worth. I had a bad experience because the bag that I received was not 100% cotton as stated in the description, fortunately I noticed and returned it right away. I guess some of the sellers are confused between the normal Little America and the Little America Canvas.

This bag is big, and nice looking. There aren't many bags this big, looks this nice and has a reasonable price.

Carried it around over the weekend with my macbook pro 15" and a host of other devices and my shoulders were still doing well after a fair bit of walking.

It is also slightly waterproof and that kept my stuffs dry when it rained (the bag still got a bit wet)

It doesn't have good support for the back though so my back still hurt a bit from the carrying.

I've also noticed another guy carrying it in my school. His brown straps are already fraying quite badly, so I won't really recommend it if you are going for something really good looking.

Not enough pockets to put my gadgets' accessories too.

Then again, it's rather cheap for something like this.

Timberland Luggage Claremont 17-Inch Backpack

This is a sturdy good looking bag. It has a compartment for a laptop and more. The material is thick and the zippers seem extra heavy duty. The blue bag with orange accents is especially nice. Very masculine.

I am a backpack person. Have gone through many of them. I use them up until the very last thread. I purchased this Timberland to replace my beloved Eddie Bauer backpack I got over three years ago, which unfortunately did not meet my quality expectations.

I am a petite person 5'2", 105 lbs. It has been extremely hard to find a backpack that does not break my back, that is no bigger than me but it has a good holding capacity. This one has it all so far.

I hope it lasts as the material looks sturdy. Timberland is known for its quality too.

Looking forward to many years of going around with it.

This bag functions in the school setting, but is extremely annoying to use. Every time you try to zip and unzip the middle compartment, the zipper catches on the extra flap of material that is built into the bag. You have to unjam it every time. If I could return this bag, I would, but I'm already using it, and will just deal with it until it falls apart. Poor design from a company that is supposed to have cutting-edge designs!

Targus 17" Deluxe Leather Laptop Case

I originally bought this bag back in 2001, it has served me very well, it has travelled around the world and is on the road with me 5 days a week day for work hauling my also 11 year old oversized 15lb Acer laptop and an assortment of tools, cables, and electronic equipment.

It is very roomy, lots of compartments and sections, yet all easily accessible. Has kept my laptop safe on the road, in the air and the several times I dropped the bag with the laptop in it and also when it fell from a coffee table.

I only replaced it with a new one 11 years later because it got scraped badly in the back of a pickup truck and also got paint on it.

The bag I had for 11 years was very well used and abused, cars, planes, utility rooms, oil field service, restaurant kitchens and it stood up to all the abuse. After 9 years two of the zippers were annoying and got stuck sometimes, however, that they lasted that long amazed me.

I have ruined other bags in 12-18 months, this one is a keeper, lasting over 10 years!

I have a 17" HP Pavillion and this bag fits it perfectly. The central compartment holds the computer securely with just enough room to easily get it in and out of the bag. I love the organizer front pocket which is perfect to hold my mouse, external hard drive and brick and power cord. The document folder in the back pocket would be useful if you also need to take papers with you, but I found my Targus Chill Mat fits really well in there.

The shoulder strap is adjustable and stays on securely, and the small handles are very convenient for a quick grab and go.

I'm very pleased with my purchase.

When my backpack-style laptop bag developed a broken zipper, I realized it was time for me to look for a new laptop bag. I didn't want a black one like everybody else seems to have. I wanted something a bit more different. When I was looking, I had a business trip coming up so when I saw this bag and that it goes over your rolling luggage handles, I was sold. I loved the color, too. I knew it would not get mistaken for someone else's laptop bag. I have just returned from my trip and it worked great. It was so much easier to just loop the bag over my luggage handles and roll it all than to have to carry it along with my purse. It held my laptop, a folder, three magazines and a hardcover book with two smaller travel books. There was also a large zipper pocket on one side that held some extra stuff. There are little loops for pens and a hook for a key or a portable access fob (VPN key). The straps are comfortable and just the right length. Overall, a great bag!

I was a little hesitant when I first saw this bag but now that I have purchased the bag, I'm won over!

The bag is definitely large enough for a 15 inch Dell laptop with room to spare for books, lunch, binder, etc. I often double it as a work bag to lug home those fun weekend projects.

I wouldn't recommend it for anything larger than a 15 inch laptop due to the length of the bag.

The material is very durable and it's awesome print always warrants some kind of compliment from my girl friends. It's crafted well and I know I'll get years of use out of it. I'm not terribly abusive to bags, but I do USE them.

It's easy enough on the shoulders, but I can see if you were hauling 10+ pounds, it could get a little uncomfortable.

I would recommend this attractive bag, and have, to all my friends looking for a snazzy functional piece of luggage.

I bought this bag 4 years ago, it has gotten almost daily use since then. Not only do I carry it to work several times a week but I also travel with it. It is super-cute, and I especially love the back pocket that unzips at the bottom so you can thread through the handle of your luggage and set it on that when traveling through airports, etc. SO much easier on my shoulders! Why don't more companies put those in their laptop carriers? The bag is reasonably lightweight yet strong and solidly-built. It has held up for 4 years of constant use, the only reason I am replacing it now is that my bunny chewed through one of the straps.

The TAC Force Web Tac Utility Backpack differed enough from the product description/features & photos enough to have me lower the score.

I needed a tactical/combat level backpack, unfortunately the differences make it not suitable for this task.

Overall it appears to be a good product it just depends on individual needs.

Also this is not the best price for this item or similar items (Which usually includes the hydration bladder). I just needed it quickly & Amazon is reliable for that so I paid a little more for this type of product.

This is a great pack, large enough to stow enough gear for a short camping trip, this is what I plan on using my pack for, the only down fall I see for this pack is the smaller sized zippers on the smaller pockets, the compact version of this pack has large zippers all the way around.

Professional Series Backpack

The backpack is very beautiful, has many dividers that let you organize things better, but I felt a little narrow, and it does not fit the notebook much like folders wider and thicker books. But I still recommend it because it is very beautiful and quality.

Even after a year this bag is going strong.

I no longer own an HP, but a Dell now and it still fits in snugly.

I would so buy this bag again because of its simplistic look and its endurance though the years.

The bag looks very professional. Nice stitch, good material. Lots and lots of pockets.

BUT

It will not fit a regular 15.6 inch laptop/netbook. I have a lenovo 15.6, and WILL FIT VERY VERY TIGHT.

The corners of the laptop sticks at the edges of the top of the bag, therefore, IF YOU EVER DROP the bag, LAPTOP goes bye bye.

Truly amazing good material, great feel to the bag, but the laptop pocket is too small to fit a regular 15.6 inch laptop/netbook. (its thick enough, but not high enough)...

More attention should be paid to the quality of materials used, as well as how the individual components are sewn together. One of the shoulder straps has come apart from the top of the backpack, rendering it essentially useless after 11 months of normal use. The fact that the other strap is still properly attached gives further evidence that the failure here is related to the manufacturing of the item. HP should mandate higher standards for products branded with its logo.

Condor 3 Way Laptop Case

this bag has been awesome to me. when i travel, i use a large hiking backpack and this 3 way pack. since this 3 way case can be used as a backpack or a bag with shoulder strap, it suits my needs rather well. the construction (straps,hooks,zippers,material,etc) is good, the velcro straps secure my laptop nicely, and the bag expands to allow more space for what i need.

I purchased this case after the last "tactical" style case fell apart after less than a month's use. I have been pleasantly surprised with the Condor case. It is well made, rugged and provides my 17 inch laptop and accessories secure protection in constant day to day use traveling between fire stations, in and out of vehicles and at emergency scenes. Despite all of this it still looks brand new and does not show any fraying or abrasion wear. I have spent well over twice the cost on cases that were nowhere near as good, bottom line it does what it is supposed to at a great price.

Got this for my 17.3" laptop, and it works great. The laptop itself is a little snug, but the straps and padding holds the laptop firmly in place, with decent padding all around. The extra pockets are nice, and it fits everything I need no problem.

The best part of this bag is the different carry options. The backpack mode is quite comfortable. It is very easy to switch between backpack and messenger bag, and it looks great in either mode.

Overall this is a great bag. I've got some other Condor gear, and this lives up to the rugged standard I've come to expect from this company.

Targus Brilliance II 16" Laptop Backpack

Good solid construction, for 16 inch or less laptop (measured diagonally). A DELL 17 inch Inspiron was just a tad too big, so anything less than 17 inches will be fine. I tried a DELL Latitude E6410, an IBM Thinkpad T40, and a Gateway 15.6inch Laptop and those 3 fit just fine (not all at the same time!) with a bit of room to spare. Laptop slot is padded OK, on the bottom, and back, and sides not a ton of padding, but enough for normal use. Metal zipper pulls, nylon zipper material. Looks good for school use.

Why not 5 stars, because it's good for light use, school use, but if you want to look professional in the business world, this probably does not convey a professional "statement" if that is what you are looking for.

I wanted a backpack that would accommodate my laptop and at least two textbook-sized books, as well as holding my pens and assorted other items I take to work with me on a daily basis. The Targus Brilliance II is a pretty big bag, and it's able to do that. It will hold up to a 16-inch laptop. My Asus is a 13-inch laptop, so it fits with room to spare. One problem is that the interior laptop compartment is held shut by a strip of nylon that has Velcro on it. Because my laptop is small, the strip is too long. There needs to be a patch of Velcro farther down the interior pocket for the strip to attach to so it doesn't flop around. This might be a problem if the laptop is the only thing I carry, but since I usually have books, the weight of the books helps to keep the interior pocket snug against the computer. Adding an extra patch of Velcro is something I can do myself if I need it, so it's not an insurmountable problem.

The bag features a main compartment with the padded laptop pocket. There is a hanging padded pouch for your media player, or whatever. I put my mouse in there, and I've even put my glasses in there so they don't fall to the bottom of the bag and get crushed. It's convenient, but it can also get in the way of getting the laptop in and out. That's why I gave ease of access only 4 stars. Yes, you can hold the pouch out of the way and slide the laptop in the bag, but it's one of those things that gets troublesome when you're in a hurry -which I often am.

The overall appearance of the bag is fairly plain, but the gray panels on the outer pocket and straps looks nice in a very techno way. One thing I would wish for is that the interior nylon to be the same gray. It would be easier to see things in the bag (like my black Sennheiser PXC 250 Active Noise Canceling Headphones pouch). The zippers have fairly weighty metal tabs that are easy to grab. My other backpack has fabric pull strips, but I like these metal ones because their weight makes them hang down. They always seem to be where I expect them to be, unlike fabric ones that get caught up in zippers and such. The zippers on this bag are easy to open. I haven't had problems with them sliding open on their own, though. I'm not sure if the zippers will accommodate a travel lock, but they probably will.

Waterproof? I'm not sure. I did a quick test by splashing water on the bag to see if it would soak through. The water beaded up and ran off, but a torrential downpour could mean trouble. The computer compartment is nestled within layers of nylon, so it would take a few minutes for rain to get to it even if the bag isn't waterproof.

The only downside for me is that this bag *is* big. I'm a fairly small woman, so the bag hangs down to my butt. Not particularly the most comfortable thing. I can shorten the straps, but the bag is pretty much as long as my torso. I like the bag because I can stuff a lot of things into it (which makes it pretty heavy!), but I may end up giving it to my husband and getting something a little smaller for myself. The bag is about 18 inches top to bottom, plus another couple of inches that the hand-strap sticks up above the bag.

The overall look of this pack is good but the interior is somewhat lacking. It's minimalist regarding storage space organization...not enough little pockets on the inside.

Comfort is actually quite good. Overall well made and durable but the lack of internal organization is disappointing.

This back pack is nice, but I am not impressed. The storage capacity is moderate, but the front pockets does not have enough pockets to store pens and other necessities. Further more, the divisions within the bag take up a lot of space considering the moderate amount of room in the bag.

On the plus side, the bag is a comfortable fit and well padded.

However, something that wasn't thought about in its design is that the zippers are extra large, resulting in a person wearing the bag "jingling" every time they move around. This is actually quite annoying.

We needed two laptop bags for our twin grandsons new laptops. They needed to be essentially the same but targeted to the individual personalities. These cushioned neoprene foam rubber bags, with the various different available designs are just the perfect solution. We chose the one with the Music theme for the for the musician and the one with the Funny porcupine design for the funny one. They don't have a lot of room for accessories but you can get a mouse and power supply in there because they stretch, it will just be a bit lumpt that way.

MacCase Premium Leather 17" MacBook Pro Flight Jacket (Black)

This is the best case for your Mac on the market. So much so that I decided to buy one for a friend aa well. It is a high quality well thought out and very well put together case. The stitching is perfect, the leather quality is excellent, and it will not scratch your Mac. Of course there several compartments in this bag and the good thing is, that they do not take away from the great looks this bag has.

There are two areas that I think could be improved. 1) that little pocket is held in place by a buckle that can easily come undone, in fact it fell by itself when I was travelling, but you could adjust the buckle to some extent by bending out the part that locks it in place. 2) It needs a wider and better badded shoulder strap to make the bag truly perfect.

Given the superb quality of the Mac Book Pro there is nothing out there that even comes close in terms of quality, class and perhaps functionality.

nice looking, easy to carry and handle, the space it takes is very handy. however, the space is just right for the macbook without a see thru hard shell. i have to force my mac into the case every time i want to put it in or take it out. but the leather is very fine with a soft touch and great look

I love the quality of this laptop case. It will last for many years. My only disappointment is that the case is slimmer than I expected while it adds to its appeal, makes it harder to carry all the extras... doesn't really fit more than just the MacBook Pro.

Tumi Luggage Tegra-Lite Extended Trip Packing Case

I love this travel case, so light, tons of room, I absolutely love this case.

The hard shell allowed me to pack my extra nice high heel shoes without fearing they might get squooshed.

Not only is it functional for packing for longer trips, I love that you don't have to worry about scratching it.

Love the look too.

My carry on is also Tumi, but not tegra-lite, I'm trying to find an excuse to buy the carry on in this series :)

Tumi suitcases are expensive but when they are of such high quality like this one, very much worth the price. I used this on an international trip that was quite long and involved. It wore the stress of the trip quite well with minor scuffs that have not detracted from the original beauty of the suitcase. Another feature I like very much is the light weight of this luggage. It is the lightest weight piece of luggage for the size that I own. I highly recommend this product for it's durability and beauty of design.

Our closet is full of Tumi luggage; have always loved the quality and longevity. Eventually it does wear out if you travel a lot!

We wanted lightweight and substantial luggage with four wheels. This bag is beautiful-as long as you don't fly with it! One flight and and it was badly scratched! It looked five years old.

The hanging side isn't designed well. And the cross strap doesn't keep clothes in the position I packed them. It's not Tumi quality I have known and relied on for the past decade.

I returned this bag.

I'm actually calling Tumi customer service today. I bought a set of 3 Tegra-Lite bags from the Extended size on down. We bought our luggage less than a week before our trip to Hawaii. As the luggage was coming off the conveyor belt, we could see that the extended trip already has a dent in it!! We purchased the black set and the scratches makes it look like we've had it for over 5 years! They said, just wipe it down and it should look new again. Umm... nope! I'm completely disappointed. We spent $2800 for the set and we would've been better off had we purchased a cheaper brand.

There's a Tumi store in Ala Moana Shopping Center in Honolulu. They said to call customer service when we get back from our trip and they apologized profusely. So here's to seeing what customer service says. Needless to say by the time our luggage made it back to Denver... well let's just say that it looks so bad I'm embarrassed to even use it. And I sure don't want to admit that I got duped into buying a $2800 luggage set. I've had the cases less than a month, took one trip, and they look horrible. The Tumi logo is even scratched off on the back of the case.

I definitely would NOT recommend this to anyone. All 3 of our black cases look horrible. Maybe the graphite doesn't show the scratches as bad, but our extended case still has a dent in it.

STM Grip Hardshell Minimalist Case for 13-Inch MacBook Air, Black (122-010M-01)

I did an awful lot of research on ways to protect my new MBA, and finding a good quality, solid, durable case was paramount. The STM Grip case has fulfilled all my expectations and more. It is comfortable to carry, dissipates heat well, and looks great. I actually was looking for a case that would be a bit more subtle, as I do a lot of work in coffee shops/public places I hoped that a plain, nondescript cover would deter potential thieves. So far, it's worked!

I've been using it for a month now and it's held up well to scratches. It doesn't smudge much at all, so I don't have to worry about its aesthetic. It installs in a snap (literally), and it fits cleanly. There almost no extra bulk to this case, but it feels incredibly solid. It also snaps off easily if you need to remove it for some reason. I love the microfiber lining on the inside it prevents dirt/dust from getting between the case and the computer.

I highly recommend this product as a short summary of all the youtube videos, blog reviews, and product sites on protective cases: this one takes the cake for hardshell cases. Way to be, STM.

Installed this case in under 30 seconds. Feels sturdy and durable. Looks great. I am completely happy with this purchase!

This STM cover fits perfectly over my Macbook Air 11" laptop (bought one for that size) and has a rubberized feel that ensures that the computer will not slip off your lap or desk. It is easy to clean and light-weight and form-fitting enough that you don't notice any increase in weight or bulk while carrying your computer. Once installed it does not slip off the computer easily, as with the Speck cases, which also crack easily. The cover definitely protects the computer and looks great. The only drawback for some will be that you cannot see the lit Apple logo through the cover. However, in my opinion, that actually is a benefit as it is less likely that others will be tempted to steal your notebook. The Speck and other see-through covers that state they are rubberized are definitely not rubberized, unlike the STM. I have tried many covers, including the Exoskin, which was so flimsy and paper-thin it wouldn't protect your computer if it were hit by a book in your bookbag. This STM product stands heads and shoulders above all of them. My only regret is that it only comes in black, blue, and pink colors.
