Perfect bag for hiking or general day use. Really good quality materials and very light. The straps are sturdy yet soft to the touch. Feels very comfortable and snug on my back. Great access pockets on top, sides and front. Main compartment is very neat. 1 sleive inside the back for water reservoir, but stays out of the way if your not using it. Size was as specified.

1 negative-Too many straps! the 2 straps on each side are a bit overkill and not really nessesary in my opinion. They tend to hang out all over the place. But I just cut them off as I never used them, and problem solved. The waist strap is detatchable so thats ok.

Excellent bag, I previously owned a Deuter back pack and it lasted me about 10 years without a problem, this one has the same high quality feel and I reckon it will last just as long.

The amount of things you can do with this pack

is crazy! I had expectations because of all the research I did

on it before ordering it, but I ended up getting more then

expected! it fits everything I like for all day hikes including all

my emergency extras I never use but must haves incase any

changes or emergencies haha and my 3 liter bladder. living in Tahoe we love backpacking

hiking biking and this pack keeps up with it all! it also fits into

the bladder pockets of our backpacking packs cause of its

material. The straps on the outside make it 10 times nicer letting

you carry more things, probably enough for an overnighter in the summer, they

can remain on the outside like the pic shows or can buckle them across

the front of the pack, can carry winter equipment(backcountry). The

removable strap you buckle across the waist isn't too comfortable but

I got used to it! great day pack for sure!!

This pack is listed as a day pack. Well, I guess if your day is a walk in the park for 30 minutes it would be OK. Not in the Eastern Sierra where a day hike can be up to 12-15 miles in rugged terrain. You need to be able to carry a lot more than this pack can.It was about the same size as my Camelback, which is small. Also the straps are narrow and there is no way to tie down anything on the pack. The quality is good, it's just to small.

ALPS Mountaineering Solitude Plus 3100 Cubic Inches Day Pack (Blue)

The materials & workmanship seem excellent, and once you get the suspension properly adjusted, it is quite comfortable on your back. (It is not self-evident how to achieve this, as there are no instructions included whatsoever.)

However, something about the design or production results in zippers that have ripples requiring one to hold the 2 sides of the zipper in finicky positions in order to zip them fully closed. They zip smoothly on the mostly straight vertical sides, but as you try to zip them around the curved upper part of their tracks, they don't zip easily, as the 2 sides of the zipper seem to be sewn just a tiny bit out of sync with each other. You can get them to work, it just requires extra time & effort. I have owned many backpacks, suitcases, etc. where zippers were sewn on a curve, and never had this problem before.

The only other issue is the way that the top carry handle is designed & constructed. It is cut & sewn so that it is parallel to the sloped top of the pack. The result of this is that the flat handle itself slopes down quite significantly (across its width.) When you pick the pack up by the handle, the entire weight of the pack is thus borne by the thin lower edge of the handle, rather than by its flat padded width, and it digs into your hand very uncomfortably. All they would have had to do was to cut & sew the ends of the handle at an angle, so that the flat of the handle is horizontal when the pack is being carried, rather than parallel to the sloped pack top.

It is hard to find a pack with such large capacity that has a multi-compartment design suitable for commuting, traveling, or book-bag use, as opposed to a single, cavernous, backpacking-only design. So I am willing to put up with it its flaws. If Alps can remedy those, this pack would be near-perfect for its size.

Size and weight were perfect for the 3 day outing. Size will also work on the discount European Airlines (just watch your weight).

received it and love it. haven't been able to use it yet other than for work but plan on using it for an up coming vacation to europe. has lots of room and love the outside pockets. i could probably fit all of my camping gear into this pack including my tent and my sleeping bag and clothes great product :)

Like other reviews, this backpack is very small but the perfect size for my petite 18 month old who weighs almost 20 lbs. I wouldn't want her to have anything bigger anyway. The pack has a clip that goes across the chest to keep little ones from taking it off. I can fit in her sippy cup, 3 pacifiers, and a couple of small snacks. The only reason I did not give it a full 5 stars is because I wish it had a way to 'store' the leash on the outside of the pack when not using it (or maybe make it retractable?). It's inconvenient to have to detach it anytime you don't want to use the leash and let your child still carry the backpack. Other than that it suits our needs perfectly.

It is a great little backpack and harness, with an emphasis on little! It is much smaller than I thought it might be, but it is still a decent size. Not much will fit in the backpack itself, but it words great as a harness. The chest strap will detach, so that is great for when my daughter wants to use it as a backpack later on. She is small for her age, so it fits her perfectly!

There was 1 other review about the waist strap not fitting, but if you read the description, it is designed for the strap to be higher up, not around the waist, so it doesn't need to be as big as others. I personally love that it's not going to go digging into her sensitive tummy when she's trying to get away from me! It puts most of the pressure higher up so it gets better distributed with her shoulders. The front strap easily moves up and down on the backpack straps, so you can put it wherever you need to to get a good fit on your child.

Overall, seems to be a great product! My daughter keeps asking to use her ladybug! :-)

This product is great in conception,poor in functionality! My 16 month old niece fit this little backpack very well through the shoulder straps, but in no way could the waist strap snap. She is tiny, and there was no possible way to snap the waist closure. I would be safe in saying that this might fit a doll...maybe! I'm very disappointed to say the least. It is cute and would be a wonderful tool for a parent to use, but it just doesn't work!!

There are not a lot of options out there for covers allowing hands free reading for the Kindle Touch, so I was thrilled to find this one. There are two pockets inside where i can put my notes. While it's a little thicker than my other cover [which is designed mostly to just protect the screen], it still slips in my purse without a problem. The velcro that secures it in the case allows me to detach it and read almost as if there was no case at all weightwise. My only tiny complaint is that the zipper opens so far down into the case that it can sometimes be a little difficult to get it started when closing it This is my third Kindle and I have had one [or more] cases for each one, but this is the best so far for quality, features and price.

Osprey Talon 44-Litre Backpack

Purchased the large, meteorite model pack for dayhiking, overnight hikes with shelters, and airplane travel. So far, it has worked well in every capacity.

Strengths

Good distribution of weight between hips and shoulders when loaded.

Solid construction, feels as though it will last through the years.

The two loops for storing trekking poles are awesome, not a feature on my other packs.

Very breathable where the frame rest against your back, no major sweat buildup.

Size and shape is ideal for active hiking and scrambling, so no need to leave gear behind during side trips.

Weakness

The cord lock for the drawstring that closes the top is a pain by design.

All in all, a great pack for middleweight excursions at a great price compared to major stores. Someone with a full set of ultralight and tight packing gear might find it suitable for every occasion. Just be sure to buy for where you want to hike, as this bag is too small for my full tent setup, nor for hikes where it is necessary to carry 1-2 days worth of water.

Great pack. Suspension works very well, especially as you load it more. I've carried anywhere from 5 to 30 pounds comfortably. Plenty of room inside the main compartment. The top lid is also very spacious. At the same time, its attachment is weird and it always seems to be falling off when he pack is not fully loaded. Would have preferred if the top lid's straps would come from the top of the pack and not from the sides. Have abused it for over 6 months and the fabric is still intact, as are all the plastic components. Excellent pack.

I really like the look of this bag but it is a lot larger than I expected for a 'small' shoulder bag. The laptop sleeve fit my 13" macbook pro great even with the rubber case on. If I could, I'd keep the sleeve and send the bag back. With the laptop in the sleeve in the bag, there is still at least 4 inches of room in the length of the big pocket. The outer pockets also bulge quite a bit.

Military Inspired Stylish Durable Canvas Messenger Bag Unisex Shoulder Bag GREY BLACK

I made the big mistake of buying multiple bags in one order from Amazon. I'm already returning two of the six bags I received yesterday but today I received this bag and I wish I could return this POS. I don't want to return too many items which is all that is saving this bag.

This is the worst (no hyperbole) canvas bag I have ever had the displeasure of purchasing. The material is very thin, the canvas is extremely cheap, the black canvas is already covered in lint and about a thousand other particles. It stinks like petroleum or cheap pleather. The stitching is crooked and the lining is not even cut and sewn on correctly. I wouldn't trust the bag to hold the few literates books I need for school, which means it fails even in it's own function as a messenger. It's way smaller than you would expect from the dimensions and it's just awful overall. I'm going to eat the cost, throw it in the garbage and consider it a lesson learned but first I will take pictures to post so this storefront can be avoided altogether.

Also the first reviewer is right the fourth picture is absolutely not the bag you receive. False advertising all around.

I ordered this bag to get out of a hobo style bag that I was using. I love the pockets on it and the amount of stuff that I can put in the bag. It helps me organize what I need for my daily commute and I even used the bag for a recent trip to Rochester NY. I am even thinking of getting more than one of these.

This was a great purchase, and at a great price!! I like that it is free of any "designer labels" and somewhat vintage-y. I love the strong canvas and the multitude of pockets with buckles. I am in nursing school and sometimes have overloaded the bag with really heavy textbooks...not a good idea. A couple of the seams are coming apart, but I will sew them up with super strong thread. The adjustable shoulder strap is absolutely imperative for a bag of this style. I can adjust it to the right length for me. Wearing it across my chest allows me to have free hands for carrying my coffee and water bottle! If you're looking for something flashy or trendy, this is not the bag for you. If you want quality and subtle "coolness", this is it!!! Btw, the color in the descriptor says "grey black", but I have to say it is more of an olive green/brown.

Deuter Women's ACT Trail 28 SL

I bought this to use as a daypack during a 7 day camp/hike up Kilimanjaro, and it was perfect. The pack itself is relatively light, and it is just the right size for carrying all the essentialssome layers, plenty of water, snacks, and other small accessories (camera, headlamp, etc). The back is properly cushioned and the ventilation system works as advertised I hiked for 8+ hours a day with about 10lbs of my back and it was extremely comfortable. My back never got uncomfortably sweaty, and the pack distributed the weight evenly. I also like the fact that you can access things at the bottom of the bag through the bottom zipper. This doesn't have the internal divider that the Futura has, but I didn't feel like I needed it.

This pack has all the elements I was looking for in a day pack. It is a little overkill for a short hike but it's perfect when we head out for the day. Everything is easy to get to, it's comfortable to wear, and it really holds a lot. Fully packed the weight is distributed nicely. Very happy with this purchase.

Love this iPad sleeve. Very vibrant in color and even almost iridescent! I been looking for a peacock sleeve that would be realistic and not "cartoony" or faded. My iPad 3 or new iPad has the smartsuit3 case from joy factory. With the case on it just fits in the sleeve, it is a bit tight around the two top corners where the zipper is but fits fine. I LOVE this backpack! I travel frequently for work during Spring and Fall so I haven't had a chance to "test" it going through airport security....but, there is a ton of room for anything you need to carry, I typically have my laptop, a projector, iPad and other materials. I won't be carrying the projector in this bag but there is plenty of room for the cords.

Two dislikes: 1) it is kind of heavy, because it is made of a durable material, 2) Price!! Why does the color blue add to the cost!?! it's shameful!

Its a great looking bag and durable. I only buy Swiss Gear backpacks and once again, they did not disappoint. The bag is really comfortable on my shoulders, and you hardly feel the weight of the items in the bag, which usually includes at least 2 hardcover books and my laptop.

This is a great backpack for the price. Plenty of space for a 15 inch laptop and a 9 inch tablet. The downside is the the strap to hold in the laptop, the back pack a holder strap that crosses the laptop using velcro to hold the laptop in place, which is kind of flimsy.

Other than the laptop strap, and given that this is a Swiss backpack. This is a great value.

This is a great backpack for little boys. Its a great size, bigger than a toddler backpack but smaller than a regular size. My 4 year old son loves it and we use it at school everyday.
